i’m imagining OSMP!Philza and OSMP!Scott as like an old immortal vs new immortal thing.

Phil’s just living his best life on a quiet little farm with his goddess of death wife and his family of animals; having spent many lifetimes enduring pain and suffering, he’s wiser for it and is now reminiscent of the old man who sits on his porch and gives advice to the young ‘uns of the town.

then one day this sassy-ass star boy with a keen eye for fashion falls from the sky and explodes in his crop field.

idk just i feel like OSMP Phil and Scott have a dynamic that would be fun to explore :)

in 3rd Life season 1, Bdubs purposefully went red in order to be able to protect himself and Cleo better.

but this season, all ties are cut once you go red. the only people you're allowed to team up with are other red lifers.

so imagine in S2, Bdubs purposefully goes red in order to not be separated from red life Etho.

why Grian was the MVP of MCC17 Orange Ocelots

-placed 1st INDIVIDUALLY in Sky Battle thanks to his clutch tnt move taking out SIX people at once.

-finished 20th in Ace Race after expressing his only hope for the game to be to finish in the top 20.

-performed very well as the sand master in Sands of Time, playing a very big part in their 3rd place finish in that game.

-perfectly organised and managed his team during Build Mart, ending up finishing nearly 900 coins ahead of 2nd place.

-was one of the last TWO players standing during Survival Games along with fellow hermit False.

-faced a 1v3 against a team that included both Fruit and Illumina, two s-tiers, in dodgebolt.

-landed the winning shot.

-finished 6th individually overall.

in conclusion, Grian EARNED this win and i hope now he'll start believing in himself more :)

there's only one member of the Southlands who hasn't betrayed them or almost betrayed them in one way or another.

Grian and Mumbo were THIS close to abandoning the Ahalliance in return for Scar's soul crystals.

Jimmy ran off with Martyn's life and got exiled.

Martyn has a secret alliance with the fairy fort and is actively selling the Southlands out to them.

THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS REMAINED COMPLETELY LOYAL TO THE SOUTHLANDS IS THE ONE PERSON WHO LAST SEASON WAS INFAMOUS FOR NOT BEING LOYAL TO ANYONE.

edit: people have pointed out he took Grian’s wither skeleton skull and gave it to Scott, but i don’t count that as a betrayal, since first of all Mumbo was looking for it with him and second it was out of fear for the server rather than for personal gain.

Mumbo is a nice guy. like, he has the vibes of a genuinely nice guy. he's mostly polite, kind, and less of an outright troublemaker than Grian (yes i know that's less true in S8 but go with me on this)

remember how terrifying it was when Grian blew up 3 people and laughed like a demon who'd just killed an angel?

now imagine redstone master Mumbo methodically creating and laying a trap. watching it go off. killing multiple people.

the difference between the way red lives are treated in S1 vs S2 is absolutely staggering, and it's all thanks to the "alliances break when you turn red" rule.

in season 1, turning red elicited more of a concerned reaction. fear at losing an ally forever increasing. patching them up after a violent death. protecting them from more threats. in a way, it brought allyships closer together.

but in season 2, they turn on their former allies RIGHT away. Grian, Jimmy, and Mumbo were driven out of their home within seconds of respawning. Tango and Etho were straight up going to abandon Bdubs's stuff in the nether. Ren calls Lizzie, the person he was devoted to just minutes earlier, a traitor. any time someone refers to one of them as a "filthy red".

this is part of the reason why i prefer season 1 to season 2 so far. theyre both amazing for different reasons but i miss the green/red duos.

i’m so upset over c!Tango this session.

Skizz forced him to give Scar a life to placate him.

Etho forced him to give Bdubs a life to bring him back from red.

and then Bdubs killed him.

he’s slowly being ostracised from his allies. we saw it in season 1 and we’re seeing it again. Tango’s still there but it’s an alliance of necessity now, not trust. Tango doesn’t care about Bdubs. in fact he went out of his way to get Scar to promise to kill Bdubs. and Etho is such close allies with Bdubs that i think it’s fair to say Etho will ultimately choose Bdubs over him. personally i think he already has.

and he lost Skizz.

but the worst part? how casually he talked about Skizz’s death. the humour in his voice as he talked about Skizz’s failed escape. the “it was a trade”. that’s not the same Tango who told Skizz that if he killed him as boogeyman, he wouldn’t care. “if someone who looks like Skizz kills me, you were possessed. that’s not my Skizz”

i think this session changed LL!Tango forever. Bdubs killing him shattered his trust forever. something snapped in him and he experienced genuine non-red-life bloodlust.

i think he’s going to purposefully go red. i think he’s going to continue to be ostracised from the rest of Team BEST to the point where he will want to be red so he can get revenge. i think he’s going to let Skizz turn him red.

and the server is going to burn when he does.

nobody talks about what happened in Last Life

Boatem is mostly silent nowadays. the chocolate factory doesn’t sing like it used to. the streets are empty of their usual decorations. even the Midnight Alley’s night sky seems duller than usual. and at the next meeting, Grian does most of the talking but his heart’s not fully in it. Scar and Pearl do their best to support him but Impulse barely says anything and Mumbo leaves halfway through the meeting. Grian knows he caused this but there’s nothing he can say or do now to put it right.

two thirds of the Big Eye Crew hardly speak to each other. Keralis likes to keep an eye on them but that means he witnesses them being frosty to each other when they get together and spots them purposefully changing their paths if they’re about to bump into each other. Keralis has given up trying to mediate; it doesn’t end well. all he catches are snippets about being stabbed in the back. but that’s crazy, neither of them would backstab the other… right…?

Ren has nightmares most nights. Doc has gotten into the habit of waking himself up in the middle of the night to find Ren on the roof of the Octagon, watching the moon and talking to himself, sounding like he’s rehearsing a Shakespearean play. he too has not talked about what happened, but Doc knows it was bad. all he can do is support his friend as best he can.

Etho has become more distant from Iskall. he spends most of his time working on his projects all alone or going to visit Bdubs. Iskall starts to feel replaced. unneeded. but when they voiced this to Etho once, Etho brushed them off. he hardly listens to them anymore, so Iskall stops trying to talk. but that doesn’t mean it hurts any less when he sees Etho break down in tears when he thinks nobody’s watching.

Cleo hasn’t been the same for a while. on more than one occasion, Joe finds her gazing at the castle wall as if desiring to burn it down. he’s almost entirely stopped deliberately annoying or provoking her, thanks to her snapping viciously at him when he accidentally startled her on her first day back. he’s never been truly scared of Cleo before now.

Legacy is almost empty, which is both good and bad for Skizz. on the one hand, at least it means peace and quiet. but on the other, it means Skizz is alone with his memories most of the day. he’s taken to bugging Logic and the remaining Legates for anything he can help with, anything at all. Logic is the only one receptive to his needs. he knows how the burning desire to keep busy feels.

the other Empires are too afraid to ask why Joel surrounds himself with wolves all the time. why Lizzie is so jumpy and wary of other people now. why Scott has closed himself off from the world. why Jimmy tries to spend as much time as he can in the desert. everyone has their own way of dealing with trauma, but nobody ever talks about it.

Martyn and BigB are on their own. neither wanting to go back to their respective worlds, they travel together for a while but the memories become too painful, so they separate. BigB gets permission to stay in Empires for a while, but Martyn has nowhere else to go. eventually, Skizz gets him invited to Legacy. Logic is relieved to be able to give one of Skizz’s friends a safe place to recover. and Martyn is grateful for the abundance of distractions.

nobody talks about what happened in Last Life. not even with each other.
