Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights: i don’t like VGK but the only opinion i have about the Stars is that i like their black/lime green jerseys. for the narrative later on, Vegas Golden Knights
Winnipeg Jets vs Colorado Avalanche: i have an irrational hatred of the Jets, plus I think on Nathan MacKinnon’s sheer force of will, Colorado Avalanche
Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators: the Canucks were good (mostly) all season, but the Predators had kind of a wild last two months, so I think this one’s actually tricky. for Quinn Hughes and their fans, Vancouver Canucks
Edmonton Oilers vs Los Angeles Kings: the Kings (and Will Ferrell) can choke tbh. third time in a row does feel deeply cursed but I truly do believe in the Oilers. cup or bust, Edmonton Oilers
Eastern Conference
Florida Panthers vs Tampa Bay Lightning: Battle of Florida is a win imo, and though it’ll probably be a good series i’m not sure it’ll be long. Florida Panthers
Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs: hilarious. upsetting. gonna try to kill us all. Toronto Maple Leafs (in 7)
New York Rangers vs Washington Capitals: keep the President’s Trophy curse alive. with at least a -4 goal differential, Washington Capitals
Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Islanders: boring. but, Carolina Hurricanes
The Canucks have won game 4 and they grow the lead to 3-1 in the series against the Predators.
Silovs gets his first playoff win in his first playoff start!
The biggest difficulty at the moment for the Canucks is having both Demko AND Desmith out injured and I think that Silovs did well in his first playoff start. A lot of unlucky bounces went in favor of the Predators but Silovs did great to keep control of the game for long stretches of time.
Boeser was a key star of the game as without him this game wouldn’t have been forced into overtime! All three regulation goals scored were by him and he has a playoff hat trick! His first goal was assisted by Miller and Soucy. His second goal was assisted by Lindholm and Miller. His third goal was assisted by Miller and Pettersson.
The most insane part of Boeser’s second and third goals is the fact that they were scored in under the last three minutes of the game because Silovs left the net and the Canucks had an extra attacker for both.
The overtime goal was scored by Lindholm with an assist from Garland!
What made this game so difficult during most of it was the Predators defense who managed to make some heavy hits. Hughes was targeted heavily during this game and I winced at the one where he was slammed between two players.
Final score 4-3!💙💚🤍
I am so glad that they managed to get the win and the next game will be game 5 on Tuesday in Vancouver!

A COMEBACK FOR THE AGES! The Canucks make us all forget about the abysmal, uninspired two periods played against the Predators in game 4.
Arash and Ryan are FIRED UP following Elias Lindholm's huge overtime goal, following Brock Boeser's HAT-TRICK, all while Arturs Silovs was the latest Canucks goalie to get a win in the first round series vs Nashville.
The Canucks rallied following an ugly game and another unremarkable effort from Elias Pettersson.

Schenn’s absence apparent as defensive breakdowns cost Canucks vs. Predators
NASHVILLE – Luke Schenn hasn’t even been traded and already the Vancouver Canucks miss him.
On the night the National Hockey League team allowed Schenn to go home to Vancouver to await a likely trade, the Canucks’ defensive breakdowns and weakness in front of their net cost them in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators.
The Canucks did a lot of things right, outshooting the Predators…
