Silver is a lot like Kiryu in that even despite being very headstrong and driven, if you get to him first hes actually pretty easy to bully into things

He knows that vampires arent real. they arent real. believing in monsters is kiddie stuff. but that doesnt stop him from habitually checking his canines in the mirror for growth

I know that in Generations it says that he hates his dad because silver thought he was a Weak Weakling but frankly that whole episode sucked from basically every angle. I do not consider it canon because i dont like it. I agree with a lot of other fans that his parental trauma is a lot more complex than that, at the bare minimum there’s the issues of growing up with more or less the same circumstances of Daigo Dojima and we all know how HE turned out

Styled his hair like that (hgss version) after latching on to Kurama in Yuyu Hakusho (the anime he secretly stayed up past bedtime to watch) and was actually lowkey psyched when his starter evolved into Meganium

Silver is angsty and stubborn and intense until about age 14, when he gets REALLY angsty and stubborn and intense and has a Poke-MCR phase, and sometime in his late teens either has a serious personal revelation or discovers weed and just chills out SUPER hard. He’s still into the black-and-red vampire/street-goth aesthetic but aside from having Resting Pissed Face he’s maybe the most laid-back and patient guy out of his whole friend group

it was kind of breath taking to see it in motion, as the other shrank back to a lesser form than the one majima caught him in, he was certain anyone else would be afraid of this kind of sight, but as a vampire that could also turn into a dragon, it didn't have majima all that fearful at all. majima's dragon form was definitely more serpentine in form, it wasn't often he decided to change into it, he actually more enjoyed to partially change into it. when he was a full-on dragon, it was no fun when it came to fights, majima still wanted somewhat of a challenge, though, many humans couldn't provide it for him with his enhanced strength involved. it was only when he was surrounded, or wanted to fly was when he changed into his dragon form.

the words the other spoke, he mustn't have been fully aware of what majima was. it kind of surprised him considering that he became known for it within the tojo clan. that he was a vampire, & that he was no stranger to what the other had just described. he had ripped many of throats apart with his thirst for blood. the other displayed his fangs to the vampire, actually not any longer than his own.

❝ i figured ya might've heard o' me, kiryu. ❞

now it was his turn to show his fangs, traces of blood still remained upon them from majima's last snack, hiding them again, though they were noticeable as he spoke, there was no retracting them like most thought, it was entirely a myth that a vampire could retract their fangs, at least for majima's type.

❝ i'm just enjoyin' the sight o' the legendary dragon o' dojima, i can see they aren't messin' 'round with that title now, it's been a rough time fer us both, hasn't it ? ❞

taking a risk, he walked up closer to the other, to get a better look at those features, scales blending in with the others skin perfectly, & those scarlet eyes ... they were beautiful if majima must say, though, he was curious what the other might have tasted like ; he can't say he's ever had a dragon before as a snack as he licked his lips at the thought of how delicious that blood would taste.

Daigo was sat next to his lover, an arm leisurely draped onto his legs, as they busied themselves with their respective hobbies. The loan shark's favorite late - night idol competitions on television had now become standard mid - night fare ; meanwhile, Daigo reviewed the latest meeting minutes sent to he and Melissa from one of their staff on his tablet. A night off was exactly what Daigo and Akiyama needed.

As Daigo switched to the next page, his eyes moved to the date at the top of the screen. He frowned thoughtfully. The ex - yakuza moved the device from his lap temporarily, squeezed Akiyama's thigh, and nuzzled into the younger's neck for a moment. It was an old motion, one that used to mean the vampire needed fed, but now it was merely a comforting gesture. Daigo made a contented noise against Akiyama's throat. The warmth of his phoenix ( as Daigo often called him in private ) was something he adored. His still - beating heart prompted the former Chairman to smile.

Daigo moved back and canted his head. Scarlet eyes met scarlet. "I realized something, Shun," the elder of the two creatures said. "Tomorrow marks one year since you turned." His hand brushed over the curve of Akiyama's neck where his fangs had traded blood for venom. Daigo never celebrated his own death ( the event had been too horrific ), but he knew some vampires did. "It's hard to believe . . . that much time slipped past already."

The fact that it was a significant date had gone by unnoticed by the younger vampire; Akiyama had been engrossed with other activities since they had left the bed, and his early night hours were spent on the computer, checking and assessing some of his own investments and e-mailing back a few candidates for financing as well as a couple of his managers. To the outside world - Akiyama Shun had gone abroad for an indefinite period of time, but he left a safety net of sorts for Kamurocho and managed it all remotely.

In fact - he remained there, still living in the same city he felt he owed his life to (both the old, mortal one and his new existence). But when one traded chocolate brown eyes for vermillion ones, it was hard to explain to the average person that he was no monster, despite the loan shark now feeding on blood only. Unlike Daigo, he had time to prepare his transition - his affairs had not been hastily cut, but actually multiplied and organized over different legal entities, trusts and funds, scattered around several jurisdictions.

Akiyama trusted banks very little, that was true - but there had been no way to ignore them if he wished to continue helping others and expanding his reach while being undead. That had been one of the key arguments in favor of his transformation - if time was not an issue, he could be a lifeline for Kamurocho until the end of times; all that was needed was a change of name, a new way to route his finances and he could assist those who were often hopeless and vulnerable for unlimited decades - or at least until someone like him was no longer a necessity.

But the other, main reason was just to his side - Dojima Daigo. The moneylender had never predicted that their lives would overlap and intertwine in the way they did - but he was profoundly grateful for it. He couldn’t explain - he had always thought himself the master of his own fate, even when he was but an arrogant investment banker with undisputed talent. During both of his human lives, Akiyama had always sought the freedom and independence that he believed to be available, and yet nothing had given him such a strong purpose as the former chairman.

From savior to opponent, from a deadly creature to his maker - it seemed like the universe was a capricious one for making them take such long and winding roads, but all it took was a minute with his mate and the shared bond for Akiyama to understand - he had been meant for this. There was no use denying it now - it was as if he had figured out the world’s most complex puzzle and the satisfaction of finally achieving that task was unparalleled. Akiyama had no words to describe the way he felt whole and full of life after his turning - it hadn’t been the end of the world as he knew it; more like the introduction to an even bigger, more wonderful one.

The focus on the girl groups that were currently dueling on stage was gone the second that Daigo moved; even before the co-ruler of the local coven spoke, Akiyama felt he had something to say and the ever-present feeling at the back of his mind had him smiling even before the elder one got closer to him. The gesture was always a welcome one - perhaps one of the things that the loan shark missed the most from the previous existence was precisely the ability to offer his lover such a pleasant and vital experience.

But the shared feelings and emotions created by the feeding process paled in comparison to their bond - and the loan shark found himself adjusting slightly on the couch, moving just enough to gaze at Daigo as he spoke and smiling in response. He agreed with his lover’s sentiment - it felt as if they had always been vampires, mated for eternity. It wasn’t as if they had forgotten their old lives, but they did seem more like a distant memory than anything else.

“I would be lying if I said I noticed,” the younger one opted for sincerity, chuckling by himself before raising a hand to touch the other’s face - even post-mortem, Akiyama did not look like he was supposed to; his appearance, his ability to retain the characteristics of a breathing, living human were unheard of, but matched his emotions and disposition. Perhaps it was the way the cosmos had to confirm that his choice had been the right one - as if Akiyama needed any more validation than the one provided through their bond, of course.

“So that makes you... Our king for ten months and a bit? Something close to that?” the loan shark couldn’t remember when the former chairman was formally appointed as the new co-ruler to reestablish the balance in the coven, but it had been shortly after his own transformation. His experience as the Tojo Clan leader had been invaluable - Daigo and Melissa truly made an intriguing pair, and Akiyama was interested in seeing just how they would shape the future of their current race together.

“Does this mean your majesty would like to celebrate the first year of eternity together?” Akiyama grinned at him - he always did when he called Daigo by one of his (various) titles, but also because of the overall conversation topic; the idea that they were bonded forever brought nothing but this sense of completeness. The younger one once thought that a perfect life was all he needed; then freedom and seeing dreams fulfilled. Now?

All that mattered was right there, in his arms.

Daigo looked up from where he sat on the sofa. He smiled as Akiyama sauntered in. The moneylender smelled sharply of the street. Daigo could sense that his mate was tired ― not that he was surprised by that. It was almost morning, and the younger man had been out all night. Akiyama shrugged off his jacket and draped it over the closest chair. A finger was lifted toward Daigo.

“Don’t tell me ! You’re . . . ” Akiyama thought for a moment. He was still getting used to that little part of his mind that seemed to have woken up since properly mating with Daigo. The elder vampire felt a note of amusement across their bond. It was one they both shared. His tablet was switched off and set to the side while Daigo waited for his lover’s answer.

“ ― curious ?? ” Akiyama ventured.

Daigo nodded. “It was your first time by yourself. I was wondering how humans reacted to you without me.” He knew that his presence tended to be off - putting. Between the two of them, the former Chairman stuck out significantly more.

Akiyama grinned and walked over to his mate. His slender figure dropped heavily next to Daigo and sprawled out leisurely over the remainder of the cushions. Daigo laughed softly and lifted a broad arm to let the moneylender lay against his thigh. Akiyama’s head landed in Daigo’s lap. Glimmering gold caught the ex - yakuza’s attention. Cool fingers snaked around the loan shark’s front and toyed with the delicate chain his lover’s familiar phoenix pendant hung on.

At the gentle touch, Akiyama shuddered. His body was hotter than the average human’s by two or three degrees now ( the measurements tended to fluctuate when they took them, but that seemed to be the range ) ; Daigo’s icy skin, thusly, had a tendency to send a shiver down Akiyama’s spine when it surprised him.

“That was my fault,” the older creature whispered, looking at Akiyama from half - closed eyes. Glittering scarlet met a similar shade of red. “I should have warned you.”

Before Daigo could pull away, Akiyama reached up and grabbed his hand to keep it in place. He liked the cool feeling, and moments like these reminded him of their lives prior to this. The former Chairman had always played with Akiyama’s pendant while they rested together. Daigo smiled appreciatively and carried on. His gaze followed Akiyama’s small movements to find the just right spot with what could only be described as adoration. A strange emotion in eyes that belonged to a predator, but the sentiment was there. The supernatural ring in each of his irises glowed. Daigo was at peace ― a feeling he hadn’t felt since Akiyama left right after dark fell.

“Good,” Akiyama said suddenly. At his mate’s raised eyebrow, the loan shark chuckled. “That I did notice all day ― night. You were worrying your head off, Dojima, and you can’t deny it. I’m in there.” Akiyama tapped the side of his own head for emphasis. Daigo swatted the gesture away playfully, mouth pressed into a thin line.

“You still haven’t told me, Shun,” the ex - yakuza remarked in a feeble effort to change the subject. Fortunately, his blood was sat still ; otherwise, he would have blushed.

“Eh ? Right. The humans.” Akiyama folded his free arm behind his head. “They were fine. No one noticed the teeth or nails. I did have a question about the eyes, but I suppose that comes with the territory. Beyond that . . . ”

Daigo allowed himself a light sigh in gratitude to the strange forces at work in his cursed blood that had gifted his beloved phoenix with such remarkable camouflage. The former Chairman had a much harder time blending in with their prey. His irises were too abnormal to be excused for an unusual color or medical condition. When individuals bumped into him, they often noticed how cold he was to interact with and glanced over. Crowds were a nightmare. Previously, Daigo favored slipping away and changing into another shape to follow Akiyama when the latter was human and entered a heavily populated area. It was easier than fielding strange looks or concerned murmurs asking if he was alright. That Akiyama didn’t face the same challenges when alone was comforting to hear.

“You may as well have been one of them,” Daigo finished. His fingertips brushed over Akiyama’s flesh, stroking absentmindedly at the patch of exposed skin bared by his mate’s refusal to button any garment. There was no envious edge in Daigo’s voice, as one might predict ― he had accepted his strange physiology long ago. The vampire was relieved at the news of Akiyama’s successful outing, and it showed in how his shoulders loosened.

Although I tag it as the “Persona 5 Urban Fantasy AU,” it’s technically just... a Persona AU. And although so far it mostly just features vampires, that’s part of why it’s an urban fantasy AU and not just “AU - vampires.”

This is partially because other entities and beings are mentioned at various points in the story, and also because I have vague thoughts of “Yeah obviously if P5 has vampires then the other games would also fit into the themes as well, meaning they’ve all got potential to have non-human social links and party members.”

Biggest of which so far is the only solid and steady thought, which is that Yu in P4 is a werewolf/wolf shapeshifter! He’s a good boy. Very good boy. Takes the form of a grey wolf on full moons and random other times, has the temperament of an overgrown puppy underneath the supposedly stoic facade, and although the Dojimas are human, his uncle just kinda shrugs about it, and Nanako loves him.

I’d probably start wanting to write stuff about were!Yu if it weren't for how I’m barely started through P4, so almost anything past Kanji is spoilers for me aside from broad strokes, haha...

So. Yeah. There’s that. But I guess another reason it’s attached to P5 is the fact that I also have a vampire swap au of the au in my head where instead of Akechi and Futaba being the vampires, it’s Akira (and possibly Yusuke, and/or one or two of the others in the PT) while Akechi and Futaba are human. Meaning that the dynamics of the group shift! I’d have to finish what I have planned for the Akechi!vampire story first before starting on any of that, though.
