Thinking about Gobber and how he heard Hiccup say “I just want to be one of you guys” and then immediately went out and did something to give him the chance to try and be like them by convincing Stoick to put him in dragon training. The way Gobber looks out and cares for Hiccup is something so special to me.

Got high and watched How To Train Your Dragon last night and for some reason it was only then when I realized how heartbreaking Stoick’s line “With you doing so well in the ring... We finally have something to talk about” is 

Like Stoick wants to connect with Hiccup. He’s tried so hard: taking him fishing, teaching him how to take down a dragon, even just living in the same house as his son, but they’re so vastly different that they can’t even hold a conversation. Until he hears about Hiccup’s successes in dragon training. And he’s so excited. He can finally connect with his son! But that is such new territory that Hiccup feels awkward and doesn’t answer. And Stoick realizes that even now, he doesn’t have and may never have the son he’s always wanted. So he tries one last thing: Giving Hiccup one last reminder of his mother. The only thing they have in common. And even that fails.

You ever think about how Valka in HTTYD2 is basically what Hiccup would've become had Astrid not stopped him from running away?

Valka didn't return to Berk because she didn't believe people could change. She believed the people of Berk would always hate dragons, and that trying to persuade them otherwise would be futile.

Hiccup probably would've thought the same thing as his mother, had he not been able to bring Astrid around to his side. Astrid, the most devoted among her peers to her training to one day protect Berk by fighting the dragon menace, was able to change her mind about dragons. If Hiccup could change her mind, he could change his whole village's mind.

Valka never got a chance to change someone's mind about dragons, so she never got a chance to change her mind about people (that is, not until she saw what Hiccup had accomplished).

Headcanon (kinda)

Hiccup being allergic to dragon root. Not like it’s going to kill him but it’ll make him terribly ill.

This doesn’t help the roomers that he’s not human. The twins started it and hiccup being himself doesn’t help and doesn’t know.

Also when his mom returnes she also has the same reaction to dragon root

And people just go. “Ah yeah stoic and his half feral, vigilante, fae wife and their son who definitely took after mom.”

Does this make any sense?

Does anyone else feel so immensely sorry for Hiccup when rewatching the scene in the second movie where Stoick and Valka are dancing??

Like the poor child never got to enjoy his parents being parents, never snuck down at night and caught his father and mother in the middle of a sweet moment, never heard them laugh together and then smile lovingly in each other's arms, never had the chance to climb in bed with Mom and Dad after a nightmare, never went to just enjoy a nice fire on a cold day, sitting between them.

And Hiccup, in this scene, is smiling so joyfully because he's happy for both of them. And he's happy that his family is whole again. Happy to see his dad so happy. Happy to feel like he has a mother and a father, happy to share such a special moment he's never been a part of before.

Like, can I just...sob? Am I allowed to sob sad tears at a scene that's supposed to be happy?

Is it just me?

anyone ever think about the possibly that Valka forgot about Stoick and Hiccup? not like forgot forgot, but like an out of sight out of mind kinda deal? and after a while she thought about them again and decided they'd be better off without her- and when she met hiccup again it all came crashing down on her just how long she'd been gone.

HTTYD Headcanons babyyyy!!!

•Hiccup curses, but doesn’t cover it up. He only does it to the other Riders and they think it’s unfair. (Cough, Cough, mostly Snotlout.)

•Gustav is Snotlouts stepbrother. (Moms side)

•Tuffnut makes dumb bets, and always loses.

•Eret asked Astrid to hang once and she thought it was a date. Turns out he just needed help with a lose trap.

•Thor Bonecrusher returned for aftermath of Httyd3 THW, and then had a nightstand with Snotlout.

•Ruffnut let it happened

•Lmao, She watched.

•Eret and Snotlout shared a kiss but they didn’t know to date or not, (ended up having times to themselves to think about it then officially dated.)

•Tuffnut still has Chicken and the Chicks. (Along with the rooster) by having a small chicken house beside his and Ruffnuts hut.

•Hookfang doesn’t like sleeping alone (As long as a dragon or Snotlout is close by, he is fine.)

•Hookfang never liked Eret. Almost set him on fire once but Eret was thankfully saved by Stormfly.

•Barf and Belch sometimes accidentally ignites the gas and blows up the hut when sleeping.

•Valka and Gobber are now bestfriends with Eret. (The triooooo)
