‘This is stupid’ The young force-user thinks as he stares down at the mess of flashing lights in front of it and incessant alarms screeching in his ears. Is no engineer, so what the hell is he supposed to do? -- Better figure out fast, something tells him they don't have a lot of time.

But is abruptly pulled out of the moment by the sound of the female's voice, chin swings over his shoulder, shooting a sharp glare at her, his annoyance only furthered by the fact he couldn't see her face. Of course doesn't understand what she’s saying, but gets the feeling it wasn't words of encouragement.

          SHEPARD  IS  QUITE  self  aware,  especially  when  it  comes  to  her  humor.  for  a  being  that  has  lived  an  intense  life,  she  has  found  the  moments  in  which  to  ease  that  tension  if  only  a  little  bit.  so,  she  understands  that  not  everyone  can  relate  in  the  moments  where  she  jokes  while  everyone  remains  serious.  still  tali’s  question  does  not  make  her  flinch  nor  shudder  in  response.  there  is  no  sudden  apology  or  acknowledgment  that  what  she  had  done  was  uncalled  for.    “  i  am.  ”    she  nods  in  agreement  instead.    “  if  i  was  as  stiff  as  a  board  all  the  time  like  all  these  other  soldiers  i’d  have  gone  gray  in  the  hair  by  now.  ”    if  she  didn’t  stand  so  much  taller  than  her  quarian  friend  here,  she’d  nudge  their  shoulders  together.  instead,  lorna  uses  her  elbow  to  knock  casually  against  the  other’s  arm.    “  not  everything  has  to  be  as  tense  as  you  think  it  is.  if  you  say  my  jokes  are  bad  though  you’ll  just  hurt  my  feelings  at  that  point.  ”
