From reading the 319 page report to watching the ESPN documentary I’m just astounded that they failed these women on so many occasions. It’s truly heartbreaking. And I’m proud to support these women but I’m so deeply angered by their front offices and owners. Im deeply disappointed in the leadership that failed to protect these players. The resiliency that these women have shown throughout the years is incredible. And I truly hope that these women get to play in a league where they are money than a dollar sign and they can actually play in a league where the excutives that actually care about the problems that they present.
As a fan I’ll continue to watch the league and federation closely and and will be waiting for the transparency they’ve promised.
But man this shit is hard and so incredibly infuriating

Many ppl saying it better than I am but USA hosting this tournament but not being able to put together a high level broadcast with experienced commentators on an easily accessible channel in the United States when the USWNT is getting multiple prime time game slots shows how USA hockey as a federation cares about their women’s program.
Many others women’s sports entities in the us have been improving their accessibility and quality of broadcasts the last few years (including the PWHL getting on regional sports networks in the USA and the phf before that getting some espn slots) and the fact that USA hockey isn’t even attempting to move beyond nhl network or at least get a good panel for nhl network is bad

Great words from Sunny in this last piece from EPSN:
"I just think that in order to move on, you have to physically get back out there," said USWNT and Washington Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan prior to Sunday's game against South Africa. "The sport has the ability to crush your heart, and it's not like you wait until your heart is fully healed to get back out there because the only way to move on is to move on. So I think it was good to get back in with the Spirit, and it's great to get back in here."
So what would the players like to see in a new manager? "Someone who is up for the challenge," said Sullivan, noting that the environment and expectations surrounding the USWNT are ridiculously high. Sullivan told ESPN with a laugh, "I'm glad that's not my job" to decide who should take over, but there was near universal agreement that whoever comes next needs to move the program forward in terms of its capabilities, especially in attack.

My last thoughts on the Korbin Albert situation:
It's being reported by several large news outlets (including ESPN) that Albert did in fact like a post making fun of Megan Rapinoe's Achilles injury. I want to focus on this aspect specifically, even though we all know this is not the only distressing thing we've found out about Korbin's likes/reposts.
Pretty much every major right wing pundit and media outlet latched onto the Rapinoe injury when it happened. The death threats and insane messages being thrown at Rapinoe, mind you after suffering a horrific injury in the final game of her career, were rampant. We all know this.
So, when you are given the privilege to wear the #15 following the retirement of that player, sitting right next to #16 in the dressing room, who also took heat from right-wing media for simply sitting next to Megan in the postgame press conference in November, you would think the new #15 would understand the sacrifices that have been made to allow her this once in a lifetime opportunity with the USWNT.
But Albert never considered it, because she obviously did not understand the sacrifices that have been made by countless women, especially Megan Rapinoe.
The overall point here: no amount of backlash Albert receives will be equivalent to what Megan Rapinoe experienced after her Achilles injury, and quite frankly her entire career. No, I do not want Albert to be sent hateful messages or threats, but she should be suspended (at the least) by the USSF.

I’m going to bed now because tomorrow is my first day of my new job, but SO HELP ME GOD if I wake up to an ESPN alert saying “Portugal stuns USWNT, fails to make knockout round for the first time ever.”
Positive vibes to the brave warriors who will be staying up/waking up for this game

This week on the Daly Dose, the ESPYs took place last week, and we have to wonder why we weren’t at least nominated for the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Plus, Lebron James has been doing some very Lebron things lately. The Tennessee Titans are going to sign wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Philip Rivers is expecting yet another child, and the NCAA proves they still have no power whatsoever with their punishments for the University of Tennessee. Then, with the world of sports being a little quiet during this time of year, we bring you another edition of our Daly Dose storytime! We tell a story of insane athleticism from the NBA, a wild family story from MLB history, and two tragic tales from the world of soccer and boxing. We finish up storytime with an account of how one victory celebration came to be one of the most popular traditions in the world of sports!
