@twicedeath was hoping for a nice quiet evening abroad...

Faith's least favorite thing about England was the sheer number of people who sounded like tweed-wearing geeks. Of course not everyone here was a Watcher type, but this was the birthplace of boring, from a certain angle. From others, it was rich with magic and folklore (and pub drinking) so she could excuse the Wesley Wyndam-Pryce of it all.

The Slayer especially didn't hate that the Highgate Cemetery was nearby, teeming with vampires and other nasties perfect for slaying. Oh, and another thing Faith loved about pub culture? Rowdy brawls were part of the routine.

"I'm flattered it -- nghhh -- took four of you to work up the courage to take me on," Faith said, her hands and feet pinned down on top of a billiards table by a quartet of vampires. They were all fairly young (by undead standards), a few wearing memorabilia from some local soccer (or football, whatever) team. Bartender nowhere to be found, probably nursing a nasty bump on the head if he still had any blood left in him. If she could just... reach a pool cue...

faith’s curse is she has the softest eyes anyone’s ever seen. they’re awful. tender and breakable and hopeless and bottomless, a teddy bear left on a shelf begging to be remembered that can’t open its mouth to begin with. she doesn’t mean for it, for them, for the disarmed way she always looks at b like she’s going to cry.

she always feels like this on the comedown. when guilt overwhelms her after she does something really fucking stupid. she blinks at the chosen first and looks away quickly, embarrassed, upset. humiliated to ask b to babysit her like she needs help because she’s running on fumes.

she hates letting anybody see her at her worst. but she doesn’t trust anyone else to contain her shit.
