Welp... remember when they "fixed" the jewelry genetics bug?

New bug just dropped, unfortunately. Same exact problem, but now it happens when your sims use the "Keep style" feature on the styling chair from Get Famous. 🤦‍♀️

Here's the comparison photos from both tweets: before shots on the left and after shots on the right.

Just a PSA, you might want to avoid using the "keep style" function on the styling chairs for a little while. If you have the same issue, be sure to upvote/interact with the thread on EA Answers HQ.

For Rent Workarounds

Wrong Lot Type

If you bulldoze a Residential Rental, you may notice that whatever other lot type you put down, it still says RR. Here's a workaround... Hit build mode from the map screen, and set down any Residential Rental from the Gallery. Now, delete each unit.

Now, bulldoze the lot and landscaping, and you can set it it back to Residential or another Lot type.

Notes: If you're just trying to place a Residential Rental from the Gallery, you need to change the lot type FIRST. If it's NOT RR, the lot won't place.

Change Residential Rental Lot Name

Another fun bug For Rent brought with it was the inability to save a new name for your lot when placing a Residential Rental. Enter build mode for your rental, change the name (even if it's already what you want it to be- retype it) and Save Game. Exit to map view and it should now be correct. (Sometimes it takes a couple of tries).

To change the unit names, do so in map view as pictured below, NOT build mode, or they won't stick.

Also, DO NOT USE the cheat for more units. Stick to the default limit of 6.

New Sims 4 Bugfix Mods (Mar. '24)

Hey, all! I hope some of you are back to successfully Simming with updated mods and that you haven't been running into too many bugs. However, we are dealing with a LOT of new bug reports at AHQ, some less obvious than others but no less bad. Two of them now have bugfix mods, and I encourage you to download the first one here because the bug can leave you with stuck buffs, like a permanently grounded kid.

TURBODRIVER – Crystal Creations Patch Fix Mod - Missing Moodlets – script file, Mar. 4, Patr./Forums download. The bug: “Any moodlet with a timer, visible or invisible, would permanently disappear after you save and quit the game. Many moodlets are critical for many features in the game to function correctly, so them just disappearing like that is very problematic. This affects both the base game moodlets and modded moodlets... This fix mod is only for people playing on the 1.105.332/1.105.297 game patch. I haven't had any luck on Reddit or Twitter so asking Tumblr... Anyone know what could be causing this glitch?

I already tried removing ALL CC / mods then clearing the cache and repairing the game and it's still happening. It only affects some of my Sims, like mainly ones in this bloodline (but not all, like the Sim in the middle has a daughter who looks normal but his sisters and son are messed up.)

Is it an actual glitch? I don't see how it could be mod-related since I removed it all. Anyone else experiencing this? So far I've only seen 2 other people say it happened to them on Reddit.

y’allllll i am definitely procrastinating opening my game because i’m pretty sure it’s broken 😤

i freaking bulldozed the lot and redid everything for juni because of a lighting glitch and now she won’t follow through on any actions i queue up for her to do 😩

she just stands in one place for hours, LITERALLY, and she will look up and down, and then stand some more 😵‍💫

i’ve reset her countless times, repaired the game twice, done the justgointomanageworldsandcomebackandhopeforthebest trick so many times… i have no idea what’s gone wrong and it’s so frustrating idk what to doooooo we have to save juniiiiiii 😭

i am LITERALLY on the verge of tears.

i tried everything. it isn't a mod issue. all worlds are opening just fine. mt. komorebi just gives me a blank screen. i haven't seen anyone else report this issue. this fucking game is broken. i literally just wanted to play today. i wanted to finish building townhouses i had started. i wanted to set up my mt. komorebi residents and create more townies and populate the fucking world

Needs bar don't change color

So once again I'm having the same bug where the needs bars don't change color when they get high/low. I've had this bug in the past and I know it's mod related, it usually was connected to the Slice of Life Mod or the custom traits I had, but I deleted the first one and updated the second ones... so that's not it this time. I've also updated Wicked Whims, Basemental Drugs, the TOOL mod and the UI Cheats Extension and it is still not fixed.

I've got over 59 GB of CC so trying to figure out which one is creating that bug is going to be quite a hustle. If anyone else is experiencing the same issue and happens to know what mod can be causing it, I'd greatly appreciate some help! Lol

Typical Sims 4. Also, might be useful to somebody, in my case this was caused by occult cc teeth (the ones that looks like from a rabbit but sharp and pointy...and I think it was a replacenement, not sure right now) which was randomly assigned to the kid when he went from toddler to child. And when my kid sim had a "Loose tooth" situation he turned into this.

FYI: apparently the new patch re-introduced the bug where sims age while you edit them in cas.

okay the sims is completely broken for me 😭 cas mode opens but i cant change the appearance of the sim and when i go to live mode i can’t interact 🥲 it was working fine until the march 6th update i think idk, i took out all my mods & cc but it’s still broken </3

A game issue and the next patch

Thought I'd pass on this useful support note from catacanyounot? on the Deaderpool server:

Are you getting this error message when you try to open your game? "Unable to start: Initialization error at start up." Windows Defender might be defending you a bit too enthusiastically. Try this fix: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/SOLUTION-Sim-4-Initialization-error-at-start-up-OR-Sims-4-is/td-p/6412439

And about that patch coming in ten days...   If you haven't watched the livestream for the patch and pack, you might want to set aside a couple of hours. If not, you can check my notes on it starting here. It will break All the Things. Okay, not all of them, technically, but at the very least all the usual CAS UI mods, the Simology panel UI mods, the Sim pie menu reorganization mods and mods that add something on them, the custom traits, the CC doors and gates, the CC bassinets and baby outfits... 

At least it will make your high chair behaviour mods obsolete, though! Still, back up your saves! And maybe plan on playing mod-free for a bit.
