Current Activities in ESO #6
Had to dig for this one. Like Warframe, my last ESO related post was way back in 2014.
My #2 post states my own brother dropped 95$ on the game. 2014 was before I ever ever employed. Jesus.
The origins of Dibbe are revealed. I do remember her still being a dark elf, I still have a screenshot of her as a level 46 being stuck in Coldharbor which eventually drew me away from the game for years after. (I didn't know the guy I had to talk to was just hanging out in the Fighter's Guild there). I've had a pale argonian before on previous games but they were named differently.
Tumblr media
Ancient Dibbe. She's hideous!
My number 5 post basically precedes me quitting the game. Couldn't find my #1 or #4 post.
All of that long before the One Tamriel update. Came back to the game some time ago and all of my problems are basically gone. Leveling still feels just a tad sluggish. 3-10 are usually pretty easy but up into the 40's feels like a slog. Generally one of my better methods is counter to what I usually do on MMO's and I level up as a tank or healer for quicker dungeon queues and just bank on that chunk of experience at the end of them.
After becoming unemployed again I will say that my lack of the craftbag drew me away from the game for a long time. However I've developed something of a system regarding that. I am still painfully selling off some of the harder-to-get materials like runes, but I'm collecting stacks of the more common stuff in my bank. Presumeably to be sold on a guild trader at a later occasion. That way I can still dismantle stuff and it will have a purpose later.
My gaming loop has mostly revolved around collecting decent sets for my various alts. I'm not good at making gold passively, mostly just selling motifs that I get randomly. I keep being told that writs are the moneymaker but that's only a few grand at a time. I wonder if they refer to those master writ you get as rewards sometimes because those typically sell well if you're lucky to get the ones that reward a lot of vouchers. But those aren't guaranteed either.
Dib, my main, is on the cusp of crafting mastery so generally she can craft a couple of decent sets for fresh alts but crafting sets are usually for the beginning. Overland and dungeon sets tend to be improved, so part of my gaming loop is the slow grind of transmutation stones so I can make shit there as well. However a big hurdle there now is without my subscription, I'm now locked out of 80% of the DLC dungeons. I have a few, but I thought dungeons came with the zones that they were released with. I was incorrect. Turns out, ESO content is released quarterly. So I've bought a few zones (I'm missing the Reach which makes me sad because I love that zone and Murkmire, which I don't have much of an opinion on but now I can't make the grave-stake set which I've had fun with in the past).
And I certainly need to keep playing the game because if I run out of gold, it usually means I can't outfit my characters! Transmogging doesn't cost much but still. Gold doesn't make itself.
And then I spend my nights roleplaying. I feel the cusp of a sort of golden age of roleplay for me personally, especially regarding my main girl Dib. I've recently developed a "radiant" quest system. Around 8 of my houses are decorated and can be used for various stealth activities. For most of them (I lose out on decor slots without a sub) I can place a variety of those Precursor dummies, little bland robots that can act as like DnD figurines to represent npc's and enemies (not to mention a few houseguests, I can have up to like 15 npc placements if the decor slots allow). I've put this in practice twice now with a few different people and it's really fun. For the smaller homes it also doesn't even take very long, so it can be used for a thief-to-thief RP meet and greet.
I joined the OG <The Thieves Guild>, a player has owned that tag since 2016 but they're recently staging a revival. It still has a pretty small core right now, about four to five of the same faces have attended the last few events.
I generally, absolutely, detest tavern RP as a general rule but I will resort to it when I'm bored or want to watch a podcast or streamer on the side. However a few nights ago a marshland tavern was opened up in Blackwood, where Dib got to meet a lot of her own kind for once.
As an aside: Not that Argonians don't frequent the current RP hub in Evermore, but I spend most of my time in Evermore wallflowering with nobody deeming my character interesting enough to approach. That or the fact that they're all usually up their own asses to greet newcomers. I had Dib try to contribute to a "never have I ever" and she was never directly replied to once. It felt like four people had me on ignore for no reason.
But in Blackwood, everything felt pretty organic. I dressed Dib down from her usual shady attire from this;
Tumblr media
To the more approachable this;
Tumblr media
So either she was more approachable or the energy of the room let to my own Dib having more incentive to interact. A friend even came along and instead of being attached to the hip we would interact, break off to mingle, swing back to each other, and break off again. Like a real party! There was one particular player whom I didn't know very well who seemed to attach herself to Dib's side but it didn't detract too much. It was a great night. Dib is pretty sure she almost got jumped by a couple of Khajiit because she openly purchased a tome of daedric lore right there in the open. She detracted an imperial priest's claim that she is so clearly a shady sneaker.
Tumblr media
"...Charming."
I've posted that around in some discords I'm in but I can't help it. I almost died laughing at my computer. I'm even unclear if he bought it or not but she cut real close about openly admitting daedra worship (she's a Nocturnal simp) but I feel like she managed to pull way from it.
While unemployed I'm generally making an effort to pop in relevant RP events I see scheduled in the various discords I'm in. And I do say relevant. I almost attended a pet show, I wanted to bring a small guar that Dibbe named "Lump" and would emote the fact that there was nothing special about it and that she likely just picked it out of a field somewhere. "This is lump he's wonderful" (this Guar isn't special at all). I decided to go for some other open RP in someone's household. I acquired secondhand knowledge that there was no "show" to begin with. People just brought along pets and everyone just walked around to talk about them. Would still have been funny to have Dibbe and Lump just hanging out in the corner somewhere.
Anyway I've been working on this post for an hour with Dib waiting for me in the background to do a Jester Festival quest.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: Review
I haven’t had the time to edit a video review so here it is in text!
Iceborne came and I got though Master Rank, through the last boss, and got to mess around with the end game in the 45 hours I have put into the game. Here is my spoiler free review. A shout out to Capcom for giving me a review code to play.
First off, I’m working off the assumption that you know about Iceborne and all the features it brings to the table so I’m not going to cover everything.
Main Story
While the main World story took about 40-50 hours, Iceborne will take about 30-40 depending on how you play. The story never felt like it was too much, and for the most part the flow was good. The story itself, like world, is nothing to write home about but it does add context to what you are doing, and also helps to explain why the new area opens up in parts.
Things I liked about how they handled it this time. First, all the major quests in the Hoarfrost Reach start out as expeditions, so that means if you are geared up enough, you could just beat the story monster in expedition mode, meaning you can cart more than twice and you won’t fail the quest.
Second, there is a large enough roster that if they tried to make you fight all the monsters as assigned quests, the game would be paced bad and the difficulty curve would be hard to control and I think they did a fine job of selecting the few monsters that did get featured as story quests and the difficulty goes up very nice and smooth from start to finish.
Seliana
The town of Seliana has the benefit of Capcom realizing what did and didn't work well in Astera and the result is a lovely town with a lovely main theme song. The layout is so well done, you won’t ever want to go back to Astera, and if you use the main functions of the hub town, I’d go as far as saying Seliana is a killer feature that makes Iceborne that more worth getting.
The thing I liked most about Seliana was the attention to detail especially when it comes to the felynes. There are some goofy things added in, which is something I felt World needed more of.
The customization options to your room are really fun and makes exploring maps and doing some of the less hardcore things really worth it. I also love the new slot machine mini-game in which you can earn tons of useful items, including a rare ticket which can be exchanged for precious master rank Pallium. No, there are no micro-transactions in this game, this is all in-game fun for fun’s sake.
Monsters
Iceborne has to my knowledge 8 additional monsters they haven’t publicly revealed, 5 you will encounter in the main game and 3 are special goodies for post game. Then of course they will add new monsters via DLC. All of the new monsters are memorable and fun, and more than world, monsters will appear in all sorts of maps, which makes the hunts against them more varied and enjoyable. Turf wars seem to be a huge feature of the game and luring monsters into each other so they can help shave off a few thousand hit points is a useful strategy you can employ in each hunt.
Mechanics
The game really focuses on using the clutch claw and for the most part it works well. The monsters do fatigue for a few seconds quite often but they are also tank like in how much health they have, so the addition of the claw and these new moments of opportunity don’t make the game easier. In fact, hunts take longer this time than previous games, which I think a lot of players might like. I still suspect the end of Master Rank hunts are taking too long for my comfort at about 20-25 minutes, but I think they might be adding this buffer to account for all the end game mechanics for buffing your weapons. Either way, the hunts are longer, the additional difficulty levels work especially 2 player, and the hunts are fun.
Weapons
Monsters being fun to hunt is good since since they fine tuned the game so that elemental weapons are meaningful again, so you’ll want to get a nice non-elemental weapon to stick with as you start to collect the other ones for the weapon or weapons of your choice. They don’t have a lot of choices for weapons so there isn’t any confusion on what to make or debate on which is the best elemental weapon to make. But weapons is  one of the few things that remains very disappointing.
While some monsters like Zinogre saw most of its original weapon designs return, some of the weapons still are just ore or bone weapons with some monster material slapped on like a decoration. It hurts even worse this time, because there are so many iconic monsters that have returned. Capcom seems to have no clue that part of our memory of these monsters were the weapons we made from them. Looking at the Brachydios lance, I can’t see anything that excuses this design, and as a fan of these monsters, it feels like a slap in the face. What makes it worse is there seems to be no rhyme or reason for which weapons got to retain their iconic design and which got the ugly treatment, which just adds to the frustration because we don't even know why. This actually takes away some motivation for me to make more weapons and thus is something I need to be blunt and critical about here in my review.
Armor
The new armor is okay I guess. There isn’t a lot of variety but I think they are keeping it low to start so they can add in event variations and stuff, so it’s still too early to judge. I am disappointed that transmog hasn’t been introduced because some sets are still rubbish due to the focus on decorations. Take the Master Rank Odogaron set. First, the design is nice. But the set bonus is protective polish, which you can get in a single decoration if you get lucky, meaning that using 3 or more pieces form this set is kind of a waste. They could have made this version be called True Protective Polish and added in an attack or affinity boost, or something to make it different than the decoration, but they didn't. And ebony and basic odogaron have the same skill which was disappointing.
None of the new sets really screamed out to me as something I really wanted to get, and most of them come with random skills that I simply don’t want. In most cases it’s better to just get the beta sets since they have more slots, but the same can be said for world. One thing that is nice that they did was introduce new set bonuses for some monsters that raises the level cap of a specific skill, like say you want to have even more slugger KO damage, which normally goes to level 3, well if you trigger the diablos set skill you can raise it to level 5. The new decorations are simple and nice in that they are 4 slot decorations that have 2 skills or multiple levels of a single skill, so you could just theoretically grab a master rank weapon and terrorize high rank tempered monsters to collect a bunch of the core decorations you might be missing.
End Game
I won’t go into end game details but it’s certainly going to be something that people can sink several hundred hours into, so it’ll be fun to watch streamers play and do it, and it does give Capcom a new way to introduce new monsters later down the line. With world being a console game I probably won’t sink much time into the end game personally but I am still very happy with the overall package and I can always go and join other people on their quests so it’s not like I’m missing out on anything.
Overall:
Iceborne does a great job of building off the strong foundation that world gave it, fleshing it out with more monsters and things to do, and all the new mechanics feel and look great. The new hub town is a delight and master rank quests, while they can be a tad long, I bet most people will appreciate that instead of going in with 4 players and destroying a quest in 4 minutes. The choice to make some weapons look like a basic weapon with decorative material baffles me and I hope enough people will voice their unhappiness so that Capcom rethinks this artistic direction. But even that can’t change the fact that Iceborne is a fantastic addition that really completes the monster hunter world experience and in my opinion is more than worth its price-tag, I just feel that it holds it back from true greatness a little.
I hope you guys enjoyed this review, and and until next time, happy hunting!

captain-narava-felidae-riggs replied to your post: Christ, I am so not ready to raid properly again....
Honestly, I have been terrified to raid since I started playing. But I’ve managed to get through almost all of LFR this time around. I just wait a few weeks til no one really cares anymore and are probably running alts
LFR is a blessing in the way it functions as a safety net, and I’ll break the fingers of anyone who says otherwise. That said, it is not a location of a large amount of brain cells, and the results of this can be...torturous.
Entering it on the day of its first opening is tantamount of a cry for help.
Since I’ve managed to find a Discord group who do PuG raids, I prefer to tag along with them, but LFR is always there as a backup or transmog source.
I only fear for how the Gelbin fight is going to go on LFR mode, because if you have to do the disarm with a randomised sequences, that’s going to be a clusterfuck.

A Gracious Return
Yes hello, dahlings. I’ve returned. And just in time for the patch. And I come with an idea. Now this idea has been done before but not, to my knowledge, in this fashion (no pun intended).  Now for around five or six years I have been doing the transmog / outfit judgings in Cathedral Square and have crowned many Sexy Beasts and Sexy Man Meats. But now it is has come a time to do a little more than just the simple things. I want to get into the meat of it and help the community in another way.
My creative outlet could use a good jolt and to do such a thing I would like to form a committee on the server that would facilitate things such as events, world pvp, and even some of the massive server events such as the Silver Sickness one that happened a while ago.
Now I know what you’re thinking.  “OH GOD, NOT ANOTHER COUNCIL.”  “NOT ANOTHER HOUSE OF NOBLES.”
And you’re right, it’s not. This group would meet primarily OOC and only partially IC. There is absolutely no IC benefit to gain by joining this beyond the extra RP that would be introduced because of it. I’ve toyed around with multiple ideas concerning this group including only allowing people on level 1 alts who show offline on battle tag to prevent any of the nasty politics from coming into play.
What I’m looking for now are constructive opinions.
I don’t want, “This is a terrible idea,” I don’t want, “This is doomed to fail.”
If you have attended any of Caotl’s fashion ratings (which will start happening again by the way) then you will know that it IS in fact possible for RPers from all walks of life and rp style to stand in the same vicinity for more than five minutes and enjoy something.
My DM’s are open, this post is open, so let’s get the ball rolling. Horde, you’re also welcome to join in. If you wish to stay tuned then toss me a follow and I’ll keep you updated.
All my love, dahlings,
Queen Caotl

It’s finally arrived  – the last week of the expansion, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bundle of emotions about it. With that being said, I decided to talk about and reflect on my top 3 favorite aspects of Legion and why.
To be truthful, I’m still having a difficult time accepting that Legion is finally coming to an end, as this expansion was probably the most memorable and enjoyable one for me as of yet. I’m really going to miss it! It’s hard for me to pinpoint my favorite things/aspects/accomplishments (what have you) of the entire thing –  as, quite honestly, there are just too many favorites –  but I’ll try and narrow them down. Let’s begin! My Top 3 Favorite Things/Aspects/Accomplishments of Legion: 1) Class Title/Mount First and foremost, I just want to say how much I deeply enjoyed the direction they took with class lore development and storylines. It was fun for me to play through each class campaign and really get a feel for that class and what it means to play it  – obviously there were some I absolutely loved, and others I felt were a little lack luster. Regardless, each class journey felt special in it’s own way  –  and I really hope we see more of that in the future. I was so happy when I finally earned my title of “High Priest” and my High Priest’s Lightsworn Seeker to go with it. I also want to add on to this and squeeze in an honorable mention  – along with class campaigns/mounts, I also really liked the added bonus of the limited Mage Tower appearances. I felt so proud of myself when I was finally able to obtain my shadow appearance as it was something I worked on for weeks and months straight. I know the Mage Tower wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I personally really enjoyed the challenge. I would like to see more of this type of challenge in the future, but think they should leave in the rewards instead of removing them entirely. (That’s a whole other rant that I won’t get into right now.) 2) Legion Secrets  This is a broad one, but I LOVED (and I mean, really loved) the secrets introduced in Legion and how they just seemed to bring the whole community together. From hidden appearance requirements to figuring out the hiding place of the Lucid Nightmare, I’m always on the edge of my seat and wracking my brain trying to figure out the next step of the puzzle. I love the suspense and wonder as thousands of players are all trying to work together to figure out the next step or clue. I’ve been lurking in the Secrets Finding Discord since everyone was on the hunt for the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph and I can’t tell you how excited it makes me whenever I pop in and see people discussing possible theories and steps. It’s such a fun and fascinating aspect of the game for me, and I’m thrilled that we have more secrets to look forward to in BfA! 3) Raiding/AoTC Alright, I’m not going to lie  –  raiding is a huge aspect and reason why I play WoW. I enjoy good teamwork and feeling like an important and valued member of the team while pulling my own weight. The place I was in when I started raiding at the beginning of the expansion is not the same place I am/was at the end of it, and I’m immensely thankful because for the first time, in possibly ever, I feel like I have found a team I can stick with and feel like I belong. But less about the mushy stuff  – this was the first expansion that I achieved AoTC for every raid tier. I still can’t believe it! I started seriously raiding at the end of MoP and barely met the deadline in time for AoTC in the last few weeks of SoO. In WoD, I only saw that achievement when I began mythic raiding. Now in Legion, I was able to see it for every single raid tier and I’m proud of that accomplishment; it was a goal of mine to better myself as a raider and as of right now, I am in a spot where I feel like I can confidently say that I have. The Nighthold was probably my favorite raid of this expansion  –  both aesthetically and mechanically  – and I’m sure I’ll be seeing it often in BfA once I begin my transmog runs (*shakes fist at tier headpiece*). Enough about me, though! What are some of your favorite moments/accomplishments/memories of Legion? Feel free to tag me in a post  –   I’m curious what everyone’s answers and opinions are! Thanks for reading!

Current Activities in Baldur's Gate #2
The game CTD'd so here I am talking about it.
As promised I was going to outline my experiences a bit more specifically.
Well currently, I have 92 hours on it and every minute of that has been spent in act 1. Only just now is my warlock about to go through the mountain pass, before getting distracted by yet another quest to save a duke. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
On the evening of release I of course rolled Dib, a dragonborn rogue, very quickly followed by my scant-clad warlock. Over time I found the rogue to be rather clunky. It's difficult to get mid-combat sneak checks when there's five goblins and two wargs looking straight at the party. Her stealth is very high but the chances to actually pass a hide check against seven mobs is very low, so it's more of a boss-killer than anything. Sneak attacks don't work like on tabletop, when an enemy has to simply be engaged with another target within five meters... But in the game you can ONLY get sneak attacks if you have advantage on the attack. I spent so much time slinging various disabling spells but you only get advantage on attacks under very specific conditions and I haven't nailed them all down. I know being prone is one of them. After falling out of love of rogue I went on to roll basically one of each class with some exceptions. I have no real interest in the sorcerer, paladin, cleric, druid, or ranger. Wizard is growing on me, notably the divination spec. I discovered that a few characters in with Gale. He can basically force rerolls on enemies, silence areas, and counter-spell. He's become a permanent fixture in most party compositions, so I might roll one for myself some day. Sorcerer to me just seems like a less interesting wizard.
I might make a ranger some day.
I've enjoyed the rest of the classes to various degrees. I'm even directly playing Karlach in one of my save files, because barbarian is fun. Big weapon go smash.
However I absolutely adore the warlock, but not overly fond of their limited spell slots. They can only pop off two big spells per combat encounter. As "eh" as that is to me, it's rarely been a problem. It can be recharged on short rests, but it's still irritating when you pop off a large spell that gets resisted or something. That said, eldritch blast is hilarious, does competitive damage, and can hit multiple targets. I can't wait to get to 10 so it can hit a third bolt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tagged this post as mature so I can post these now.
I'm dreading finding actual gear upgrades so she'll eventually lose this 'look', and I don't think they'll ever introduce a transmog system because they didn't in DoS2. But once she's done saving the duke, she'll be moving onto act 2 properly. Edit: I did not know the Duke was in act 2 to begin with.
Right now her setup is herself and gale on the backline while Lae'zel and Karlach both wade into the fray. Personality wise Selina is kind of an asshole but still a bit of a hedonist. To fuel a hedonist lifestyle she needs money. People give you money when you do things for them, and sometimes she'll extort and take it. So her altruism despite the dialog options is still a bit self-serving. And since Karlach isn't as goody two shoes as Shadowheart, the relationship meters with both are still creeping upwards. Karlach likes shows of strength which my warlock does sometimes, but just isn't as anti-everything as Shadowheart is.
Shadowheart is weird, man. Talks up altruism but worships a god that wants to end the world. Cool.

Hey! I think I met your mage and her leveling partner in the cape of stranglethorn earlier (or, yesterday now). I recognized your transmog from the screenshots you've posted in the wow tag, but you seemed like you were getting things done at the time so I didn't wanna bother you. If you saw a blue male draenei around the explorer's league digsite, that was me! I love your art :)
Wow that’s cool! Indeed, I was in the Cape of Stranglethorn yesterday! I remember seeing a draenei monk at least. You can come to say hi if you see me in game. It doesn’t bother me at all even though I might be a little shy. :)

Why did you make your blog: I realized it’d be easier to just make a tumblr rather than (for some reason) locally saving the cool/funny things @eatmypussyliketherussianfamine reblogged.
What do you post: Crap, utter crap.
Fandom contributions: I attempt to fill the arakkoa void left behind with WoD’s closure.
Last thing you googled: Where the nearest theatre is for Black Panther (30min away in the city lol).
Ao3: I don’t have an account there.
Do you ever get asks: lmao like at the most frequent one a month (barring an art meme invitation). But usually never, no.
How did you get the idea for your url: It’s my art blog name twice so people know where likes/comments are coming from. Name being a combo of my name and the song Xuxa from In the Groove.
Favorite food: Pumpkin pie.
Last book you read: Uhh.. Dragon’s Blood by Jane Yolen. The lady that housed our cat in Ottawa had a massive library of books and I borrowed one to read while we were there.
Top 3 fictional universes: Narrowing down to ones I’d actually want to live in, Digimon (only if I got a partner obviously), Pokemon, Harry Potter (as someone with magic lol). LBR I’d die in a heartbeat if I had to live in WoW-verse, even if it has giant bird people.
If I don’t tag you and you wanna do it just pretend I did ok I won’t mind.
@eatmypussyliketherussianfamine @blustersquall @virvendir @plaguemd @flykiwiflyaway @morganwerewolf @magnastorm @quietsnooze @xenofae @knappingcat I won’t be hurt if you don’t wanna do it lol

on the one hand I know that my visual art has always been a bit dumb, empty and lacking, so I shouldn't be surprised that I get 4 or 5 notes on every post I make of Kass from photomode.
But on the other hand, I've played 700 hours of ACO and I post every day in the tag, and I have a transmog tagging system so ppl can replicate the looks I showcase, so it still kinda hurts when I see a much more popular blog post once a fortnight and get 76 notes
