Okay, but when Brom was telling his epic Rider story at the beginning of Eragon, he was like, “Morzan, strong of body but weak of mind,” or whatever.
So, either he just told the whole village that Morzan was a dumb jock out of spite OR that’s literally part of the epic story. And I don’t know which one is funnier.

The first line of dialogue is Galbatorix saying “I suffer without my stone.”
I died.

Yeah, that's Galbatorix favorite map. He stands in front of it for days at a time in case Durza shows up.
He keeps it in a room called The Giant Map and Threatening Durza Room.
It's the special place where he suffers while he waits for his stone.

“The sky is hollow and the world is round,” is such a great sentence for no reason.

Other gems from my Mom reacting to the Eragon movie include:
Brom: *dies*
Mom: strangled scream
--
Mom (about Durza): Why do his lips keep getting worse?
--
(At the final battle)
Mom: That was a stupid line.
*seconds later*
Mom: That was another stupid line.
--
And, the crown jewel-
Mom: Is this what inspired Lord of the Rings?

So glad that the medieval monks had the foresight to illustrate Eragon's epic battle with the snail.

Durza is described as having “filed teeth.”
Evil spirit(s), possessing Carsaib, like “bitch doesn't match my aesthetic.”
Cue goth makeover of the century.

Wait, so Movie Sloan recognized “the stone” and knew it belonged to the king? And later was singled out to be tortured for information?
That’s a whole ass backstory right there.

I’m sure this has been headcanoned to death, but Murtagh must have named horse Tornac while OG Tornac was still alive.
It was probably a joke between the two of them.

It may have been a bad decision, but Eragon jumping off Saphira in midair to stab a dragon in the leg was pretty metal.

I was so hyped when Fork Witch Worm came out.
Read the whole book the day it showed up in my doorstep. It’s not a long book, but still.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WAS 5 YEARS AGO?!

Something I liked about Eragon compared to the other books is how it actually explores the human side of Alagaesia. To my memory, the other books are more involved with exploring the other “cool” people, and the humanness gets pushed to the side.
In Eragon, though, there are references to human stories, and even human gods. I don’t think these ever get explored in full.
