Another one is a Koho, one of the major Finnish brands along with Titan, Montreal and Tackla, the latter being only one still manufacturing in Finland. Koho is CCM owned and alive as a goalie equipment brand. Here's Titan 2020 in action. Finnish heritage brand Torspo is living a new revival. It has been relaunched as a russian brand for the future's largest ice hockey market. An american fella called David Soderquist has been rebuilding Torspo since 2004. We used to laugh at those few unfortunate souls who tried to play street hockey with Torspos, but who laughs at Igor Larionov? Saying Torspo out loud still makes me smirk, mind. I'm childish. Calling someone TORSPO! was also an insult. Vitun torspo, fuckin torspo, we'd say sometimes. Looking back 90's Torspo's sticks might have looked pretty rad. But the reputation was gone. Brand was a joke. And people didn't go for this kind of minimal aesthetic as this finnish international defender Pekka Tuomisto's unused Torspo stick displays. I'd buy it if I was right. In awesome black and white it looks great and has a smart scale for sawing. By the way did Czechoslovakia export pucks to the NHL during the Cold War?
