Our 2022 Family Reunion Road Trip was amazing. Drove over 3100 miles through 5 states. The Estes Park KOA might be the best on the planet. The owners are amazing. We got to spend so much time with family and no trouble on the road. Only 1 road closure detour, but that led us to an Alligator sanctuary in southern Colorado. Best Road trip ever. I couldn’t make it to Topock 66 earlier in the day. I managed to make it in time for dinner, and upon arriving I found out what had happened. There was a major boating accident involving the collision of two boats, over a dozen people thrown into the water, and many serious injuries. The worst thing is, there are still four people missing. So, except for law enforcement boats, there’s been no activity in the marina. A few people have come by road to the restaurant, but the mood has been pretty subdued. It can’t be overstated enough.
