Day by Day in April; Parkinson’s Awareness Month - Post #15
The Healing Project - Parkinson's Awareness Month-Post#15 Thanks again for your comments and support as I forge ahead into this fifteenth day of my experiment to post something educational about Parkinson's for each day of April (PD Awareness month). -------- So, we are halfway through Parkinson's Awareness Month! You must be wondering where I am digging up enough PD information to be aware of.. But the fact is, I am just covering the basics while throwing in some personal experience. PD isn't the #2 neurological condition in the US for nothing. Today, I went to go pick up my daughter Arlana from softball practice only to find my wife had already done so. Sure, miscommunication can happen to anyone, but this was a case of poor planning on my part. I made a series of assumptions, any of which could have been confirmed with a phone call, but no, I just forged ahead and drove over. Now, the issue of planning can and usually is a tough skill anyway (especially for us guys), but many PD Warriors can take it to another level. We can tend to do a task first, then ask questions later. There is just not enough neurotransmitter getting to the brain's frontal lobe where tasks are arranged and prioritized before execution. Yes, stuff like this could happen to anybody (without PD), it's just that we are more prone to needing a nudge to look ahead and visualize how something is going to shake out. That being said, I hope that some of you can join me and my family NEXT Saturday, April 21st in Central Park NYC at the Parkinson's Unity Walk. It's like a big social for those who walk because we can. It's free, but if you choose to contribute, 100% of proceeds go PD research. See you there on your feet or in your chair! -------- PS - For those following this thread, there is no plan or outline. Like a song, I like to go where the muse takes me. To read previous entries, go to my timeline. If you are not already aware of the complexity of PD, you soon will be. If you are aware, please do share what you know. See you tomorrow!
Yes, this is syndicated from April, 2016. I thought it was worth running again.
