New Legend if Monkey plot "twists" that I want to see happen in s3:

1) Monica is Tripitaka's mother (c'mon guys. There is sooooooo much foreshadowing for this, even and especially in episode 1 when Monica hears her reading the letter out loud in her cubby)

2) turns out Sandy is, in fact, a demon. Because the no one is born evil, and just because she is not a god doesn't mean she's NOT STILL "just Sandy".

Because A) literally everyone including Monkey thought she was a demon; B) she's got more innate powers than Monkey or Pigsy have displayed: C) in her backstory, she mentions ~"it even got to the point that I belived that I was a demon. But then I realized. People believe what they want to believe."~ or something thereabouts, 100% able to go either way; her family believed she was a demon because they thought the worst, OR, she convinced herself she was actually a god to make the best out of her (very bad) situation, to help cope.

Also. Sandy is OP AF, sooo there's going to be SOME kind of reveal down the road, even if it's not this.

Season 2 of TNLOM critical and wishful thinking

I don't think I can do a read more on mobile, so here goes, sry

Why was the writing so rushed? All the demons felt nerfed. They could have slowly introduced some of the demon generals and fleshed it out with minions and gone a few more seasons. We only got surface level exploration of these demons and their loose alliances and their internal struggles for dominance. Hagfish should have been the antagonist of next season.

We could have visited more human villages and witnessed the cultural shift from obeying demons to whispers of disobedience to fullout rebellion.

We could have had flashbacks to Pigsy as the genius strategist of the gods.

Shadow Monkey. Oh my God! That could have been the arc of an entire season! Try and fail to sway real Monkey. Shadow Monkey could meet up with Gaxin!Tripitaka, fool him, and take off on a quest with 2 of the gods that were rescued from Davari's palace.

Have an arc with a parallel Shadow TripKey group with competing quests. Maybe both pairs each recover a scroll. Now you need to steal a scroll from Shadow TripKey. Maybe the Monkeys switch places. Hyjinks ensue. Shadow Monkey kisses Trip and that's how the disguise is uncovered.

The writers really threw away a chance to have Chai in black armor and blacker eyeliner for a whole season!

I wanted more of General Khan with Pigsy dammit!! He deserves to be appreciated for his skills and as a man. Monkey gave him shit all season and dismissed his skills with plants and cooking. Let Pigsy cook for his hot demon girlfriend.

Sandy. She needs closure for the way her family treated her. Her found family needs to continue to grow. I'm very sad all those children were afraid of her at the fishing village. She did NOT deserve that. I want her to grow close with little steampunk boy and be his auntie/big sister.

Let Gaxin!Tripitaka team up with Shadow Monkey and go darkside! But show it from their POVs so it feels like they're the protagonists.

Ugh. I can only hope that Gaxin's efforts with the creation scroll somehow backfire and he and Shadow Monkey are resurrected somewhere. I really like Monica's character and actress but there are more opportunities to play with Shadow Monkey and Gaxin.

Lastly. The temple of infinite scrolls would have been a great base of operations for the team and a safe place to store the scrolls as they recover them. Why not...invite the scroll caretakers to the temple with their scrolls? No one gets dusted. You gain the brain trust of the caretakers. Through the season you get to populate this cool set piece with eccentric characters and write cool group dynamics. But no, they walked out of that temple with the dead bodies and didn't even blow out the torches

Ahhhhhh! So many lost opportunities
