#tiffanylamps: beyond evil ask lists

Oh gosh. I want to ask you literally every question, but let's go with β˜€οΈ πŸ˜‚ πŸ‘Œ plus a bonus: pick an additional question you'd like to answer!
Hey, hey, hey!!! I was going to answer this last night, but I had the worst headache. Here I am today instead! Thanks for sending me this and for giving this list so much love! 😊 [My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List]
β˜€οΈ What's your favourite episode? Okay, this is a bitch of a question, I don't know why I included it. I don't have a definite favourite; instead, I have a handful that really stands out to me whenever I think about the show. Beyond Evil has great pacing and the story doesn't wane as the story progresses. At the moment, I think my favourite episode is.... episode 10. We have jwds flirting through security cameras, the start of Dong Sik's pining, jw getting ds to come to his house for a surprise date, Joo Won being a cunt, Joo Won getting in Dong Sik's head, Dong Sik losing his cool, and then... the big sad at the end. The contrast between the scene at Joo Won's flat and then later that night at the docks is so sad... and gorgeous.
πŸ˜‚ What's your favourite Han Joo Won quirk? I have so many, shocking, I know. I've been asked this question more than once, so I'll give you one of them so I'm not repeating myself.
Tumblr media
This cunty pose he does. Hands on hips, which is the same way his father stands when he's feeling all up himself and indignant
Tumblr media
It's a great detail and I'm so glad they included it because it just adds to Joo Won's copycat nature, and to the fact that he requires his father's approval (also kind of adding to the fact that a lot of his shittier behaviours are learnt) ... plus, it makes him look like a bitch, and I enjoy that immensely!
πŸ‘Œ Give me your top five moments Shit. Another hard question (why did I do this??). Okay, this is also something that changes regularly, it kind of depends on what I'm trying to gain from the show. Currently, these are my top 5 (in no particular order):
The argument in episode 13
Tumblr media
2. The dinner date in episode 8
Tumblr media
3. The gay basement argument in episode 5
Tumblr media
4. jwds being investigating boyfriends in episode 15
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(they do the same movements throughout the scene!!! it's so good)
5. Joo Won's hot girl divorcee winter in episode 10
Tumblr media
(I do like scenes that don't include these two... but today, i'm simping πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ)

Hey!!! Thank you for sharing my BE ask list. By the way, I think you have my favourite banner ever!! That moment from episode 1 is one of my favourites! It's perfect!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚πŸ“–πŸ’›
Hiiiii! thank you for the ask!!! <333 but you mean this? lmao πŸ˜‚
Tumblr media
Awww, beyond evil would not be complete without this particular scene, of course. I adore this also! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Thank you, my great friend, for noticing my header and for the ask game!!! β™‘β™‘β™‘
What's your favorite Han Joo Won quirk?
Even though I already responded to this topic in the previous ask, I'm still going to include the gifs because this is my favorite and anytime Joo Won makes this expression, I get the impression that he is planning how to devour Dongsik. Around Lee Dong Sik, he is unable to act normally either physically or mentally.

[My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List]
🌊 What moment makes you want to walk into the ocean? Okay, so about 5 billion different moments just flashed before my eyes in a second. But the one that is on my mind right now is Dong Sik visiting his mum in episode 15.
Tumblr media
If I remember correctly, in the script, it states that after THE rain scene, Dong Sik gave "one of his houses" to Joo Won to stay at for a week, as a way to stay away from his father/process what's happened. We can all assume it was the lake house (apparently Joo Won deep-cleaned the whole house πŸ₯²) and Dong Sik would stop by to leave him food?? So, it's been a week since he found out who killed his sister and ruined so many years of his life.... and he goes to visit his mum to update her on a 21-year-old promise of finding out who did this to them and bringing that person to justice. But how does he voice this thought process?
BY TALKING ABOUT JOO WON 😭😭😭 His love, fear, and just outright pining for that little weirdo is so palpable in this scene. He's clearly feeling so much about recent events and he's so genuinely worried about Joo Won (and starting to realise the extent of Joo Won's feelings for him), but he doesn't have anyone he feels comfortable with expressing it to. But his poor mum is... well, yeah, we all know, but he goes to her whenever he's STRUGGLING! Like, he does it three times in the show! AND IT DRIVES ME INSANE! 😩 πŸ˜‚ What's your favourite Han Joo Won quirk? Gosh, there are so many. I've already answered this question here. But I'll give you another. I really like how observant Joo Won is, he never stops watching people around him and taking in information about them. I think that's quite a (charming and sweet aren't the right words)... uhm... endearing and intense part of his personality. Especially when it comes to Dong Sik! He never stops watching him! (Even when they're in front of others lol)
Tumblr media
(it also adds to my asd headcanon for him... like he needs extra time to digest people's emotions because he finds detecting their facial expressions a little challenging.)
✨ Tell me one story from a character's childhood and one story from their later years I hate myself for this question πŸ˜‚ Okay, Jae Yi! I already explored this first idea in my fic courage to make love known but I'll expand it a little further here. When Jae Yi was a kid, she and her parents would drive from Manyang to Busan for family weekend trips. Her parents met in Busan, so it's a place that holds a lot of sentimentality for them. One day, as they're exploring the various fresh fish markets, finding something to have for dinner when Jae Yi momentarily loses sight of her parents among the crowd. She's eight, maybe turning nine soon, and considered tall for her age, but she's still too short to see through the barricade of arms and stuffy winter coats. She tries not to panic. Jae Yi has always been a kid with a level head; she's capable and logical. But she's still a kid. So, when seconds manifest themselves into feeling like hours, then those hours start to look like she's going to be lost forever, tears well into her eyes. She shouts, but the hustle and bustle of the crowd drowns her little voice out, and soon, she's pretty sure she's never going to see her parents again. (πŸ₯²) What felt like an entirety, turns out to be less than twenty seconds and soon, like the parting of the Red Sea, she sees her dad's smiling face through the parting in the crowd. She runs to him; tears falling heavy down her cheeks and holds onto his leg like she was never going to see him again (πŸ₯²). He laughs, in that nervous way adults do when they're trying to hide how worried they were from children. After a much-needed kiss and cuddle, Jae Yi and her dad join her mum on edge of the market. More kisses are exchanged, and after Jae Yi cries into her mum's chest for what felt like a totally necessary amount of time, her dad is gently pulling her away, and in his hands is a gift: bungeoppang. Jae Yi accepts her ice cream with tentative hands and spends the rest of the trip with a grin on her face; her two front teeth missing.
(Okay, so this next one is a huge headcanon for me. It isn't so much her "later" years, but it happens post-canon) Dong Sik moves out of his family home as soon as he can. He spends his two years of probation (i hope I've remembered that detail correctly) redecorating and sorting out the years of clutter. The gang help him out: Ji Hoon picks the colour schemes and helps Dong Sik paint/wallpaper each room, Ji Hwa helps to install new broadband and sort through Yu Yeon's bedroom, Gwang Hwang donates various items and gives numbers of contractors to help with the basement and kitchen, and after a time, even Joo Won shows up, taking items to the local reclining centre and buying Dong Sik more and more items that make everyone raise a brow (expensive bedding, decent plates, new curtains, a stereo system- you get the idea). Jae Yi helps out the most. She still works long hours at her mother's shop, but after a lucrative summer, she's able to afford part-time help. So, in the evenings, Dong Sik and Jae Yi sort through paperwork and odd bits and pieces. One night, Dong Sik is having a bad day. He's quiet, sighing as he walks through the house with heavy steps. Jae Yi tries not to bring attention to it (as she knows what her friend is like), but after an hour or so, she can't ignore it anymore. That's how the two of them end up in his parent's old bedroom, sitting on the floor, trying to piece together the instructions for another Gwang Hwang donation: a dismantled bookcase. Ji Hoon has already sanded and varnished it, so the two of them just need to mantle it back together. But as the night progresses, it becomes apparent that the bookcase isn't getting built. Instead, the two of them talk about the past, and what Dong Sik intends on doing next. That is when he tells Jae Yi (who happens to be the first person he tells) that he plans on moving out of Manyang. She understands. How could she judge? She knows exactly what living in Manyang feels like, after everything. When she asks if he needs help selling the house, he smiles, eyes watery and offers the house to her. "You can't keep where you are, Jae Yi. A woman your age should have a place to call her own. Besides, I'll be alright." After a very quick back-and-forth, both as stubborn as each other, they come to the agreement that Jae Yi will rent the house (mates' rates, of course). That way, the house will stay within the family, but no longer a burden on Dong Sik's shoulders. (So, with this new development, they agree that Ji Hoon is no longer allowed to choose the colour schemes because the terracotta wall he hasn't finished in the bathroom seems way too dated. Even to their tastes.)
Anyway, yeah... I got carried away, but you know me πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ it's what I do. Sorry for replying late to this, I hope it brings you some entertainment. Thanks again! 😊

πŸ“– 🌺✨for the ask game! :) (sorry i haven't done the other one you tagged me in yet but i'm thinking abt it-)
Hey friend, please don't apologise! Take your time, I'll read it once it's ready 😊Thank you for sending me this!!
[My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List]
πŸ“– Give me a fic recommendation I have two (out of three) fic rec lists here and here. I'm not sure how many BE fics you've read but here is my selection for you (one for each rating)
The objects of our affection by tawny_owl Rating: General Short and very, very sweet!
in bloom by synonemous Rating: Teen We have teenager Joo Won being looked after by Dong Sik. I normally don't like de-ageing fics, but this is a delight!
know that i would gladly be by rikli Rating: Mature jwds being dads, need I say more?
fractures by princesskay Rating: Explicit the events after that rain scene... it's intense and so, so brilliant!!!
🌺 Where are your favourite character(s) going next? Uhhhhh.... Okay, I am going to focus on one character in particular as I don't have the brain capacity to write about every single character I love.
So, Dong Sik, Dong Sik, Dong Sik.... My guy! One of my favourite headcanons for Dong Sik is that after his probation and getting court-mandated therapy (and actually finding it helpful), after selling Jin Mook's property, and renting his parent's home out to Jae Yi, he moves out of Manyang. I don't believe he moves very far, perhaps to Munju or a town nearby... perhaps to another smaller area on the outskirts of Seoul?? For a while, he struggles (in general) with what to do next career-wise. But with the help of his probation officer, he gets a job at a youth centre in a quieter part of Seoul.
(In reality, would he be able to do this with a criminal record??? I don't know, but I'm thinking strings were pulled and considering the crimes he committed and why he committed them, and blah blah blah, he's allowed)
He loves it. He's fantastic at it and it gives him a new lease on life. Dong Sik is a natural with those younger than himself and considering the difficult life he has led thus far, he has the skills, the personality and the life lessons to help guide teenagers/young people going through a difficult time. Picture him making stupid jokes in the recreational room, pulling the quiet kids to the side to have a chat about what's going on at home, knowing when parents/guardians are abusive, putting the Little Shits in their place when they get too cocky, etc
He stays late for the kids that have nowhere to go. He has a "great" relationship (it's complicated) with the police, so when one (or three) of the kids end up at the local police station, he's set it up so that he is called before their parents. The kids look up to him, they listen to what he's got to say (even the more difficult ones), and he's able to help guide them in a way he wasn't able to do for Yu Yeon and Min Jeong.
I love this idea so much that I have incorporated it in many of my writing projects, as I just adore the idea of him doing something that involves him being surrounded by community and life.
✨ Tell me one story from a character's childhood and one story from their later years
When Ji Hoon was ten, Ji Hwa picked him up from school. It wasn't common for her to do this, as she was often working, and their mother was usually the one left with this task. However, that particular day was different. The family had recently moved to a different area in Munju, meaning that Ji Hoon had been moved schools and the Oh sibling's mother was busy that day. So, on Ji Hoon's first day, Ji Hwa offered to do it instead.
Now, from my understanding and guessing, Ji Hoon is about 25 in the show (I'm probably wrong), meaning he's roughly 15 years younger than his sister. So, when a 25-year-old Ji Hwa rocked up to the school gates, Ji Hoon's new classmates mistake her for his mum.
Hilarity ensues for years to come (mainly just Dong Sik and Jung Je being absolute menaces about the whole thing).
-
When Ji Hoon is 35, his father passes away. He passes in March, leaving a community feeling empty without the beloved local taekwondo instructor. Ji Hwa deals with it as well as can be expected, but Ji Hoon struggles. One of the many reasons why he struggles is because in the July of the same year, he's due to get married, and the family believed they had enough time left together for his father to attend.
The family of four were all together when Papa Oh died and in the following months, Ji Hoon is supported through a very difficult time. His fiancΓ© is brilliant and is able to stop him from falling into a depression. One of the reasons she's able to help him through this is because her own father passed when she was young, so she knows exactly what he's going through.
This sad turn of events leaves a missing piece in their wedding plans. As [insert name here]'s own father isn't able to give her away during the ceremony, Ji Hoon's father was going to do it instead. But now, without him there, they have to find someone new.
They ask Dong Sik.
Thank you again for sending me these asks! 😊 I have a lot of fun answering them! I hope the last bit wasn't too depressing. Also, people go on about jwds' age gap but not the Oh siblings, like... what's up with that?? Why is there such a big age between their births? Was one of them an unexpected pregnancy? Do they have different mums??? I wish we knew more!
Anyway, bye bye for now!

Hello gorgeous! I hope you're well. Thank you for sending me this ask! Sorry I've only just gotten around to doing it πŸ’›πŸ’› [My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List] β˜€οΈ What's your favourite episode? I've already answered this question here. But I'll give you another episode that I really love and that one is episode 5. God, I LOVE this episode so much!! I wrote a whole bloody mini essay about it because I love it so much. The themes of honesty and protection are delicious! Joo Won's fear of community (Dong Sik trying to make him a part of their community), the major gayness! the push and pull between jwds all episodes! and THAT basement scene! 😩😩 I could eat it for breakfast and be full for the rest of my life.
(It's the episode my current banner comes from)
Tumblr media
^ I feel like this is the perfect depiction of the softer side of their dynamic. Dong Sik with a teasing smile and Joo Won looking annoyed about it. 100% of their attention on one another and standing so, so close πŸ˜‚
πŸ˜‚ What's your favourite Han Joo Won quirk? I've answered this here and here. I like that everyone knows that I have a soft spot for this fucking weirdo. It brings me so much joy! Anyway, another quirk... uhmm... I know! THE WAY THIS FUCKER WALKS!!! OKAY! We all tease and poke fun at Joo Won BUT NO ONE IS SHITTING ON HIM FOR THE WAY HE WALKS!! and that is an injustice! His arms are so lax, they swing, and he walks like he's an ironing board on his back- It's just so funny. I implore everyone to look out for it next time they watch the show!
Tumblr media
(I don't have many decent screenshots of it! 😩 But, to me at least, it is a funny walk)
❀️ What's your favourite Dong Sik smile?

(raw screenshots πŸ‘€ now we're getting personal) We don't have favourites in this household. All Dong Sik smiles are the best smiles, even the fake ones!!! (and the sad ones)... There's a pic limit on posts, and I don't have every single smile screenshotted yet, so I can only add this healthy handful as an offering. But another smile I LOVE is the one he gives Jung Je and Ji Hwa in episode 9 when they're in Jin Mook's house.
Anyway, yes, I hope you like these answers! Thanks again for sending me this and for loving this post up 😊

🎡 i really like musical associations so
Hey! Thank you for sending me this ask! I have already done a music reply here, if you're interested 😊 [My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List]
🎡 What five songs do you associate with Beyond Evil? Here's five more!
Various Storms & Saints - Florence and the Machine But still you stumble, your feet give way Outside the world seems a violent place But you had to have him, and so you did Some things you let go in order to live While all around you the buildings sway You sing it out loud, "Who made us this way?" I know you're bleeding, but you'll be okay Hold on to your heart, you'll keep it safe Hold on to your heart
Out The Black - Royal Blood And I promised you like you promised me But those vows we made Fucked it up for free
You made a fool out of me and took the skin off my back running So don't breathe when I talk, 'cause you haven't been spoken to I've got a gun for a mouth and a bullet with your name on it But a trigger for a heart bleeding blood from an empty pocket
When You Break - Bear's Den Spoiled, selfish little child Went out to play out in the wild I found you shaking like a leaf Underneath your family tree You could never live out in the open Regretting every word you've spoken When you break, it's too late for you to fall apart And the blame that you claim is all your own fault
My Limb - Hayley Williams Funny, out the two of us, you always were the gentle one Shy little rabbit, teething on a shotgun I guess we were collateral damage, kissing in the crossfire Limpin' over dead leaves, I wish that they would cover me
Somehow - O3ohn I breathe out all of my sighs Somehow I'll see them float You reached out all of my nights Someday we'll see how they bloom
If it wasn't your voice I would never be on time Then I broke all my rules Will you lead me to other side
Thank you again for sending me this ask! I hope you enjoy the songs! 😊

🎡 What five songs do you associate with Beyond Evil?
So, I have a BE playlist that I have been adding to ever since I first watched the show. Here are five songs that I have on there:
Fireside - Arctic Monkeys I'm not sure if I should Show you what I've found Has it gone for good Or is it comin' back around? Isn't it hard to make up your mind When you're losin' And your fuse is fireside?
The Adults Are Talking - The Strokes And don't go there 'cause you'll never return I know you think of me when you think of her But then it don't make sense when you're trying hard To do the right thing but without recompense
And then you did something wrong and you said it was great And now you don't know how you could ever complain Because you're all confused, 'cause you want me to But then you want me to do it the same as you
The Beachland Ballroom - IDLES Soon as the rush went away I need not look for a way Damage, damage, damage If you see me down on my knees Please, do not think that I pray Damage, damage, damage
I Love You, But I Need Another Year - Liza Anne You're sticking around but how can you stand it? I can't salvage your mind while I'm losing mine quick And nobody should have to deal with this But I need ya, I don't wanna leave ya
Stay here I know I love you but I need another year I don't wanna drag you through it Stay here I know I love you but I need another year I don't wanna drag you through it
Deathbeds - Bring Me The Horizon Eyes like a car crash I know I shouldn't look, but I can't turn away Body like a whiplash Salt my wounds, but I can't heal the way I feel about you I watch you like a hawk I watch you like I'm gonna tear you limb from limb Will the hunger ever stop? Can we simply starve this sin?
Enjoy! I did do a jwds lyric edit for the last song, in case anyone missed it lol (the day tumblr doesn't mess up my post's font sizes will be the day.... actually, i don't think they'll ever sort it out)

🌊 What moment makes you want to walk into the ocean? I've already given an answer to this question here. But here is another moment that I am crazy over: Ji Hoon going to work the day they find out Min Jeong has gone missing/died.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's pretty clear that Ji Hoon has feelings for Min Jeong. We never find out the true extent of those feelings, but the fact that he has a nervous breakdown (of sorts) at her funeral, and Dong Sik is worried for Ji Hoon's mental health in episode 5 (hinting that Ji Hoon suffers from depression and agoraphobia) shows whatever he felt for her was a deep emotion. Yet, he still goes to work and answers the phones (I can't imagine the number of phone calls he had from people panicking and wanting to know information about Min Jeong's disappearance, just further rubbing salt in a fresh wound😭). He's fucking crying at the front desk! But he still does his job, despite the shock, the trauma, the grief!!! I... 😭
πŸ˜‚ What’s your favourite Han Joo Won quirk? Already answered here, here, here. I really like Joo Won, which I know is pretty obvious at this point and I think it's interesting (and honestly, really lovely) that people want to know my opinions of him! He's definitely the character I get asked about the most. Anyway, one thing that I really love about Joo Won is that he needs time to process information. For me, this is a part of his neurodivergent coding (I know we've discussed this already) and is something I really relate to. It's kind of rare (from what I've seen, at least) to see a pov character that gets easily overwhelmed by a bombardment of information and has to take time to let the information sit with them before coming to a conclusion.
Tumblr media
It's one of the reasons his arguments with Dong Sik don't go his way; Dong Sik is able to recite a myriad of points off the top of his head but once he's said them, he kind of forgets (which is very normal for most people). When Joo Won is on the receiving end of this, he tends to shut down, and needs time to collect himself. But he still takes the information in and remembers it, which leads to numerous occasions where he recites something Dong Sik has said back to him, word for word.
I love that! I think it's such an interesting personality trait and it works so well against Dong Sik's personality. They process information in different ways, and their differences complement one another.
❀️ What’s your favourite Dong Sik smile? I answered a fuckton here. I don't have an outright favourite, so I'll give a few more that I didn't include-

πŸ‘€ What would you like to see if they did a season 2? Okay, I have thoughts on this. I think that there is room for a season 2 but I don't think it's necessary to do.
I will prefix this by saying that I may be forgetting a big bit of information that will prevent this point from becoming reality. I don't have the best memory, so I admit that I could be forgetting something. I personally believe that Han Ki Hwan has very good grounds for appeal (just on Yu Yeon's murder. The other crimes?? There's probably a long paper trail, and Lee Chang Jin and Do Hae Won's testimonies that would put him away for a long time), as there isn't any physical evidence of the hit and run. Other than Lee Chang Jin and Do Hae Won, the only piece of damning evidence (that I can remember) is his confession... which was obtained legally, therefore, we can presume his legal team will have it dismissed from the trial.
So, his appeal process could be something they focus on. However, I don't really want to watch that, as there's not a lot of story there.
What I would want is a mini-series, or perhaps, a movie of sorts where we get an update on the characters' lives. It doesn't really matter to me how far into the future it is, I just want to see Dong Sik heal and move on, Joo Won get closure and finally find a family that loves and accepts him, Jae Yi finding a life outside of her mother's butcher shop, Ji Hwa getting the respect she deserves, Ji Hoon growing into himself, Joo Won and Hyuk working on their relationship, Jung Je and Dong Sik m a y b e working on their relationship, and of course, jwds.... being an actual couple.
It would be so sweet to see them slowly becoming a part of each other's lives, getting to know one another outside of the death and trauma, and just having that same intensity but the tension can't be disguised and dismissed as "it's the situation", y'know?
I want to see jwds sitting together on a sofa after having dinner, trying to figure out what their new dynamic is going to be. Them stumbling their way through the healing process together, learning together, understanding that it's okay to want and how to be quiet and to just b r e a t h e.
I want to see Manyang in the summer. I want BBQs at the lake house. Christmas jumpers. Busan weekends. Manyang nights. I want New Years' Eve kisses and hugs and drunken laughter. I want misunderstandings and mistakes and grief and showcasing that the process of healing is a fucking long one and looks different for everyone. I want Joo Won's grief to manifest in odd ways (sweet and sad ways). I want to see Dong Sik feel comfortable with being honest. But most importantly, I want all of them happy. (minus the obvious handful) (But I don't think we'll ever get that. The story is so complete without it, and I don't think they'll be able to tell the next steps without addressing the queernessπŸ‘€ so, yeahhhhhh)
Anyway, yes, thank you again! I sure did ramble on for a long time, so I'm going to shut up and let you get on with your night/day πŸ˜‚

πŸ€” Give me a random headcanon
Hey anon, I hope you're well! Thanks for sending me this ask! [My Beyond Evil Emoji Ask List] πŸ€” Give me a random headcanon Okay, I have quite a few. I was going to give you a Joo Won one, but I don't think it'll be all that popular and I talk about him all the time, so I'll give you a Dong Sik one instead.
Dong Sik was fifteen when he stopped going to church. He grew up in the church, as his parents were practising Catholics who partook in the church's community. Side note: I like to think his mother was a part of the choir when the twins were growing up, and she got Dong Sik to join her. Whereas Yu Yeon followed her dad's advice of joining the music "programme" (as in, she learned the piano); I think this is a good explanation of why Dong Sik and his mum have the same singing voice.
But... as a queer kid (especially in the nineties), Dong Sik always felt a bit left out, like the community was different from him. But for a long time, he couldn't put his finger on why. He just knew he wasn't comfortable. But when he got his first proper crush (on one of his male classmates) and him and Jung Je started doing whatever the hell it was they had going on, it clicked.
So, he stops believing, stops caring, and after a year or so of thinking it over and over, stopped going. His parents weren't happy, to begin with. There was a lot of bickering and "but you love choir", and them asking him why. But Dong Sik didn't have the bravery or the language to fully explain his reasoning (plus, he's got a "my twin sister is better than me" complex, this part of his teen years really didn't help with that).
After a while, his parents gave in and only asked he attended family events and Christmas mass. He did, for the first two years. But as Seoul's nightlife became more interesting (and the strangers he could kiss there), and he was more infested with getting drunk and high with his friends (as a lot of teens do), he stopped going. Over time, Dong Sik's... "different-ness" became a talking point. His sexuality became an open secret that no one really addressed (as far as he's aware). He doesn't know if his parents knew, but... when he's an adult and wants to introduce Joo Won to his mother, he feels like a part of her already knows, even if she's unable to communicate it.
Anyway, yeah, I could say a lot more but I'm going to stop there. I hope that's interesting! I may be projecting onto him- no, I am projecting onto him πŸ˜‚. There's just something about his religious upbringing (as someone who comes from a strict religious family) that really speaks to me. The fact that he's absent for his own grandmother's funeral (I think that's correct), reeeeally speaks volumes.

Here is a masterpost of all the Beyond Evil work I have posted. I have done quite a few at this point and they weren't organised anywhere, so here I am, being all neat and tidy.
