I love how one of the options when talking to Vyranoth during The Thorignir was, "(Quest) You have no idea how long I have been waiting to punch Odyn in the face."
So true! I have wanted to punch Odyn in the face since Legion!

the misfit dragons storyline makes no senseeee
the diplomat in that situation was supposed to be wrathion & turns out vyranoth was the one to convince both the netherwing flight AND the thorignir to come to the dragon isles
i like vyranoth & i like a nice redemption arc but again, it feels like wrathion was there just to... fill some empty space or something. man. this is disappointing

Dragonflight Headcanons
Ok so don't get me wrong, I love Dragons and the Dragonflights but they don't seem to have a sort of "uniqueness" to them, as in aside from their main gimmicks there's nothing there. So I decided to share some of my headcanons to show how they can be more unique, and I will be going over both major and minor Flights.
Black:
Head shape is more like an Alligators.
Most disguise as humans, as they like their similarities (huberous.)
Common classes are; Shaman & Warrior.
Horns are more elk-like.
The gender neutral suffix for them is In.
Blue:
Head shape is more like a Turtle/Tortoise.
Most disguise themelves as High Elves, for their shared intrest in magic.
Common classes are; Mage & Priest
Horns are more Ram-like.
The gender neutral suffix is Gosu.
Bronze:
Head shape is more like a bearded dragon.
Common Classes are; Priest & Shaman.
Most disguise themselves as Gnomes due to similar curiosities.
Horns are more like Garna's and/or Markhors.
Gender neutral suffix is Dormo.
Green:
Headshape is more like a Vipers.
Most disguise themselves as Night Elves due to their history together.
Common classes are; Druid & Shaman.
Horns are more like a Water Buffalo's.
Gender neutral suffix is Ua.
Red:
Headshape is the same as normal.
Common classes are; Paladin & Priest.
Most disguise themselves as Dwraves due to their sense of family.
Horns are also the same as normal.
Gender neutral suffix is Straszi.
Chromatic:
Headshape is more like a Komodo Dragon's.
Common classes are; Warlock & Warrior.
Most disguise themselves as Orcs due to them being one of the only races their exposed to.
Horns are more like a Bull's.
They have a prefix of Chrom and Suffix's of Us for males, Th for females and Ts for gender neutrals.
Infinite:
Headshape is more like a Frilled Lizard's.
Common classes are; Priest & Warlock.
Most disguise themselves as Nightborne due to relating to their rebellion.
Horns are the same as Bronze Dragons.
They have a Prefix of something that relates to time and a suffix of Us.
Netherwing:
Headshape is more like a Crocodile's.
Common classes are; Mage & Warlock.
Most disguise themselves as Blood Elves due to a similar need for magic.
Horns are more like a Impala's.
They have a Suffix of Aku and similar naming conventions as Blacks.
Nightmare:
Headshape is the same as normal.
Horns are also the same as normal.
Most disguise themselves as Saytrs due to being on the same side.
Common classes are; Druid & Warlock.
They have similar suffix's to regular Green's but the most common are; On for males, Ra for females & Os for gender neutral's.
Plagued:
Originally used by the Scourge to aid in making Undead Dragons, but after the combined efforts of Alexstrasza & Ysera are now a new Dragonflight with acid breath.
Headshape is like a Caiman's.
Common classes are; Hunter & Rogue.
Horns are like that of a Pronhorn's
Most disguise themselves as Forsaken due to their shared orgins from the Scourge.
Suffix's are; Rus for males, Ria for females & Ran for gender neutrals.
Twilight:
Headshape is like a Gila Monster's.
Common classes are; Priest & Warrior.
Horns are like that of a Ibex's.
Most disguise themselves as Trolls, because most of the Trolls within the Twilight's Hammer Cult work with the Dragons.
Suffix's are; Ron for males, Iona for females & Ion for gender neutrals.
Storm Drakes (Thorignir):
Headshape is the same as normal.
Horns are also the same as normal.
Common classes are; Hunter & Shaman.
Most disguise themselves as Vrykul, due to being exposed to them the most.
Most names are nordic in nature with the common suffix's being; Or for males, Yr for females & Ir for gender neutrals.
Voidwing:
Some of Vexiona's cult found still living eggs from their lady and with some magic made the Voidwing Dragonflight.
Headshape is the same as Vexiona's
Like Vexiona, Voidwings don't have horns.
Common Classes are; Druid & Priest
Most disguise themselves as Naga, due their shared origin in N'Zoth
Suffix's are; Nar for males, Xia for females and Ana for gender neutrals.

We should have at least acceptable levels of control over who sees our content. The fact that blocking someone doesn’t IP block them by default still baffles me. I also still wish @staff would figure out that me blocking someone also means I don’t want to see their shit. If my followers reblog their shit it shouldn’t show up for me.
Seriously! If I have someone blocked I want them to just not exist for me anymore. I don’t want to see their posts! I could understand it being messy to keep them off my dash when they come by way of mutuals, but the Recommended algorithm has posts from people I have blocked on it all the time. It has one right now. There is literally no reason why that should be the case! They shouldn’t get to put a paper bag over their head and send me messages, either.
At least when people had to actually have an account, I got a notification when they started following me, or a hit on Statcounter when they stopped by. The new no-account dash seems to preclude either. Of course I’m uncomfortable with that.

Tag Index - Warcraft Dragons
[Miscellaneous]  [General Warcraft]  [Dragons]  [Non-Dragon Characters]
Tumblr media
Warcraft Dragons
#rambling about dragons again -- Kind of a catch-all tag for Warcraft dragon discussion, from short jokes to longer meta posts
#draconic aging and #draconic breeding -- These tags cover discussion of and speculation on these aspects of dragon lore.
#there’s absolutely nothing wrong with RPing as a dragon -- The (unnecessarily long) tag says it all.
The Black Dragonflight
The Black Dragonflight – In general / misc.
Wrathion – The Black Prince is my favorite, so this is a huge tag full of discussion, screenshots, meta and general squeeing.  In addition to his main tag there are also:
Wrathion pictures -- Artwork featuring Wrathion
wrathywhelp -- Art or text focused on Wrathion as an adorable whelp
Aaron Phillips -- Wrathion's voice actor
BFF princes -- Posts focusing on Wrathion's friendship with Anduin
A boy and his whelp -- Anduin and dragon-form Wrathion
AWOL whelp -- Posts lamenting the scarcity of Wrathion between MoP and Dragonflight
Left and Right -- His faithful bodyguards
wrathidad -- Posts about the quest line with Wrathion and the time-lost whelps that was in Legion alpha but removed before launch
Game of Obsidian Thrones -- Posts about the Wrathion vs. Sabellian conflict in Dragonflight
Fahrad is another of my favorites, and in my headcanon he’s Wrathion’s biological father.  See also #number one dad Fahrad and #actual dad Fahrad.  (I have an alt named Fahradion who runs around Azeroth having #au fahrad adventures.)
Let’s not forget Wrathion’s mother, Nyxondra!  (See also the screenshots of #au nyxondra adventures.)
Or his Auntie Onyxia!  Her human guise is usually tagged as both Onyxia and Katrana Prestor.  (See also #au onyxia adventures.)
Everyone’s favorite draconic mad scientist, Nefarian, has his own tag.  (See also #au romathion adventures, the screenshot series featuring my uncorrupted version of him.  Oh, and I ship him with Rheastrasza.  I know it seems random, but read my fics.)
Obsidia – Another one of Deathwing’s daughters, who is sort of an original character and sort of canon.  Long story.
There is, of course, a tag for Deathwing, as well as a Neltharion tag for his pre-corruption self.  Ditto for Sintharia a.k.a. Sinestra.
The Ebonhorn tag should cover everything about the Highmountain Spiritwalker, while his dragon form is usually tagged as both Ebonhorn and Ebyssian.  (See also #au ebyssian adventures.)
Sabellian is back from Outland with a less tacky outfit, competing with his nephew for the Obsidian Throne.
The rest of the family:  Atramedes ~ Darkblaze ~ Emberstrife ~ Kalaran (a.k.a. Velarok) ~ Myzerian ~ Nalice ~ Sartharion ~ Searinox ~ Serinar ~ Teremus
Oh, and Zardeth is totally a black dragon and no one can convince me otherwise.
Wrath of Sabellian – Reblogs, commentary, and fanart related to the amazing, novel-length fanfic epic by Yulon about Sabellian and Wrathion.

LFC - Jasculs Freemoon
Tumblr media
The Basics --- -
Full name: Jasculs Freemoon. Nickname(s): Jackie, Jas, Jasc, stubborn oaf, big ol’ pumpkin, Mat, Mattie, dreamboy, moony. Title(s): Self-proclaimed bodyguard-dad. Former Slayer and Commander. Champion and Hero, though he usually doesn’t respond to them. Alias(es): Mateth/Mateus Dawndream. Age: About 12.000 years. Birthday: February 9th. Race: Green/Emerald Dragon. Disguises himself as a half-dragon-like kaldorei or sin’dorei. If necessary, he can disguise himself fully as either, too. He prefers his kaldorei form. Gender & pronouns: Male, he/him.  Sexuality: Homoromantic, bisexual. Marital Status: Married.
Physical Appearance --- -
Hair: Purple so dark it appears black. Long, soft, and incredibly curly, though it's kept in a braid most of the time to keep it from becoming too much of a ridiculous, unruly mess. Jasculs also adorns a full, neatly kept and trimmed beard.  Eyes: Unlike most demon hunters, Jasculs still has his eyes, although they're blind and tinted deeply with fel, both of the eyeballs sickeningly green.  Height: 262 cm/8'7" in kaldorei form, 210.8 cm/6′11″ in sin’dorei form and too tall for my brain to comprehend in dragon form.  Weight: 160 kg/353 lbs in kaldorei form, 128.6 kg/283.51 lbs in sin’dorei form and yet again too heavy in dragon form for my feeble human brain to make realistic.  Build: Muscular mountain with slight pudge around the stomach area.  Scars:
A small, y-shaped, faded scar between his eyebrows.
Scars from Naroua's teeth just above his left elbow.
One in the shape of the North star on his abdomen. It has one long line up the torso, another long one down, and two smaller ones to the left and right of the center. There is a tear in his wing on the other side of the scar.
His palms, soles of his feet, and back are littered with faint scars from burn marks
Several faded marks and slashes from older fights.
A jagged, disconcertingly huge line on his chest from being impaled by a pitlord’s polearm. Don’t think about the fact it’s directly above his heart.
His back is a nightmare of whip scars. Before them, there were other scars, but they cover up any and all flesh and skin of Jasculs’ back. If it weren’t for them he’d walk around shirtless.
Claw marks above, below, and in his eyes.
Tattoos:
The arcane tattoos of the Illidari, Emerald Nightmare-red variant. They’re mostly centered around his chest and shoulder-blades, though they run down his arms as well. They’re slightly faded and need a touch-up.
One that goes from his ankle and up his shin, picturing several rose-bush branches with thorns and flowers.
A pitch-black tattoo of a world-tree starting just above the tail bone and swiveling up the length of his back.
Piercings: He used to have many but now all the holes except for one in each earlobe has grown together. Jasculs rarely ever actually wears piercings, though. Distinguished Traits: His resting bitch face, awkward stuttering and babbling, and small, unthreatening, stubby horns.  Common Accessories:
A small leather pouch at his hip, containing various personally valuable items as well as a needle, thread, and a small bottle of disinfectant
Clean bandages around his forearms. Cliché but incredibly handy.
A blindfold made out of said bandages.
Two enchanted bracelets. They're made out of a simple, black leather, rolled up to create firm but strong threads. In the middle of each thread is a single, purple-ish pearl. When tapping them twice with two fingers or speaking the keyword - “Rakeesh”, butcher in Eredun - they transform back into their original form: one-handed swords.
A simple ring with engraved runes. In elven form it's on his left hand ring finger and in dragon form it's on one of his horns.
Personal --- -
Profession(s): Professional squishy dumbass. Dad of the year. Butting into every fight where someone seems/might be overwhelmed. Sells leather, meat, fish, and other wares he compiles from skinning and fishing as well as doing various odd-jobs. Once upon a time he was a war-machine/tank for the Illidari, and you can probably still get him to be your bodyguard if for the right cause. Occasional adventurer/champion, if the cause is worth it. Hobbie(s): Cooking, gardening, napping, and reading. He’s trying to pick of knitting but, uh. It’s not going that well. Language(s): Fluent in Draconic, Thalassian, and Darnassian; almost fluent but heavily accented Common, Dwarven, Taur-ahe, and Zandali; can speak and somewhat read Orcish, Pandaren, and Draenei; can understand and speak (although with broken grammar) Eredun, Kalimag, and Nathrezim but not write or read any of them; can read, write, and somewhat brokenly understand Shath’Yar and Nazjar but pronunciation is beyond him. Skill(s): Cooking, skinning, fishing, and leatherworking; wielding glaives, one-handed swords, one-handed axes, and polearms; using bows for hunting; enhancing his own body with traits from his bound demon and various offensive, defensive, and supportive Fel spells; disguising his own form and other people's forms by use of various Fel spells. Once upon a time he could do it with nature and arcane magic as well but now it gets turned into Fel; being a bit of a dumbass; emotional socialising and creating safe spaces for people.  Residence: An unmapped mountainside in Stormheim. Birthplace: The Emerald Dream.  Religion: Elune.  Patron Deity: Elune, Ysera.  Fears:
His most intense fear is no doubt his claustrophobia, as it is so bad it can and will cause panic attacks if he cannot move freely at all times.
Losing and failing to protect his family.
Losing himself to the Nightmare or the Eredar Conqueror he's bound with.
Being forced away from his family.
Being captured by the Alliance or the Horde. Honestly, just being captured in general.
Facing the Illidari and their leaders.
Jasculs also has a never-ending paranoia that he's being watched and in danger.
Waking up a different place than where he went to sleep.
Relationships --- -
Spouse: Sol'alore Firewing Freemoon aka Solastrasz, belonging to @frostwyrmsfury. Children:
Kinagosa (adopted, alive), belonging to @frostwyrmsfury.

Phene Dawndream (step-sibling, alive. It’s less complicated).
Livatus Dawndream (half-sibling on his mom's side, deceased).
A few half-siblings on his father's side.
Other Relatives:
Quite a few aunts, uncles and cousins, though he has managed to keep in contact with exactly zero of them.
Feenris Duskblade (not blood related. Considers her an aunt).
Pets:
A manawyrm named Boomlio, proudly named by Kina.
A felsaber named Sæunn. She’s named after a Thorignir whose help during the 3rd Legion invasion Jasculs will always be eternally grateful for and was a gift from Illidan.
 An injured hippogryph named Thyri.
Traits --- -
Extroverted / Introverted / In between /: Jasculs is not introverted, per se, he simply mostly keeps to his own devices. He is honestly quite extroverted, just reserved due to paranoia.
Disorganised / Organised / In between /: He's a bit of a neat freak and loves when things are organised well and are in order, yet still manages to misplace everything and accidentally make a mess. Besides, having been out in the wild for most of his life, his general idea of "organised" is… cluttered.
Close Minded / Open Minded / In between /: No comment here.
Calm / Anxious / In between /: In crowds and populated areas, the back of Jasculs' mind is in a constant state of paranoia. However, he's gotten exceptionally good at handling it, and now he's usually the mildly anxious but level-headed and clear thinking one.
Disagreeable / Agreeable / In between /: Jasculs does his best to avoid conflict and will often agree just to avoid arguing.
Cautious / Reckless / In between /: Well, until his intelligence fails him. Jasculs is a dumbass and often gets himself into trouble on accident. He's also surrounded with troublemakers and people of varying degree of reckless, and he has to do equally or more reckless things to keep them out of danger.
Patient / Impatient / In between /: No comment.
Outspoken / Reserved / In between /: This entirely depends on who he's with and how comfortable he is with them.
Leader / Follower / In between /: Weird for a Slayer, yes, but, well, he never lead anyone. He never had a say in anything and most definitely did not have a choice; he just did as he was told.
Empathetic / Apathetic / In between /: Jasculs is super emotionally charged. His emotions don't control him or make him vulnerable at all, it's simply how he lives, how he likes to live. It makes him feel fulfilled and alive and not monstrous. He's very understanding of emotions, both his own and other's, and overall have an emotionally freeing feeling about him.
Optimistic / Pessimistic / In between /: Jasculs in neither an optimist or a pessimist, honestly. He's a realist.
Traditional / Modern / In between /: He likes family traditions but is overall very adaptive to his surroundings and the times. There are traditional things he misses but just as many modern things he's happy have replaced traditional things.
Hard-working / Lazy / In between /: Though Jasculs loves relaxing, he's in no way lazy. He doesn't really believe in lazy.
Cultured / Uncultured / In between /: Over the years, Jasculs has accumulated many cultural influences, but he's never quite gotten properly cultured with any civilization. Even cultural things from the green dragons or the kaldorei tend to elude him.
Loyal / Disloyal / In between /: No comment.
Faithful / Unfaithful / In between /: Faith is a very conflicting topic to Jasculs. He still prays to and believes in Elune but not like he used to. There's a seething doubt in his mind about whether Elune really cares or not, and if praying to her even matters, but he tries not to listen to it. Having faith in humanity, elven kind, and all other races of Azeroth is also becoming difficult. He says he's sure they'll see their mistakes of their ways and come together to save Azeroth but he doesn't really believe it anymore.
Assertive / Timid / In between /: Though he's not scared to assert dominance and scare away anyone who attempts to hurt himself or anyone he cares about, Jasculs is all around a rather timid and soft person. It often makes him sad that many find him scary, to which he'll whine like a hurt puppy.
Additional Information --- -
Smoking: Doesn't keep cigarettes on him but won't decline if he's offered one.  Alcohol: Rarely, if ever.  Drugs: He's quite too old for that.  Triggers:
Not being able to move freely and wherever he pleases is the one trigger that will always, without fail, make Jasculs crushingly uncomfortable and hyperventilate. More often that not, it causes a panic attack.
Being told to "suck it up" about an emotional issue of his, being policed and lectured about his "purpose", and people amounting his worth to how much he has done for them trigger a severe moodswing where he's incredibly irritable, sassy, and easily snaps, and then later a depressive episode of varying intensity.
Face claim: Idris Elba. Voice claim: Jasculs laughs like Mark Fishbach aka Markiplier but otherwise he has no voice claim. Theme songs: It Will Be Me by Melissa Etheridge & Want You Here by Plumb. Alignment: Chaotic / lawful good. In-game classes he takes the most after: Vengeance demon hunter, with a bit of druid, hunter, and warrior inspiration here and there.
Alt Verses --- -
All of these can be mix-and-matched as you please!
Corrupted: The Nightmare corrupts Jasculs in Val’sharah. During a night terror, around when G’Hunn breaks out, he accidentally kills Kinagosa, Mo’hir, and Sol’alore during a night terror. It’s the last straw and Jasculs loses his mind; he reverts back to calling himself Mateus Dawndream and only finds joy in causing endless bounds of chaos.
Garden: Sol’alore dies during an attack on Dalaran. Kina and Jasculs bury him in Val’sharah and a wild, beautiful garden sprouts from his grave. They live there, and the garden is the only thing keeping Jasculs afloat in his depression.
Jassalarian: Miraculously, Malassarian survives the burning of Teldrassil, and him and J’aaris proceed to join Jasculs’ little group of found-family.
Rometh: Grand Magister Rommath joins the Illidari and, after being freed, Mateth takes extremely well to him. Rommath overthrows Orian and Kayn, and Mateth gets to go on with his life without all the main verse struggles.
RP Hooks --- -
Demon hunter / the Illidari: Before he left was banished from the Fel Hammer, Jasculs held the title of Slayer. He was the right-hand-man of the Commander / Illidan replacement, though he had no say in much on anything. Pre-Warden imprisonment, Jasculs was more of an intimidating shadow than a person; the demon binding ritual put him in a state of emotional and mental paralysation, meaning he did nothing but follow orders. Jasculs had no say in anything and was more of a husk of a tank and war-machine rather than an actual person, but being woken up from his imprisonment and losing his siblings shook him out of that state. Your character has most likely fought against him in Outland, or heard of him if they’re a demon hunter.
Bounty: Not only was Jasculs banished from the Fel Hammer, he was also accused of being a traitor of the Alliance and a war criminal and thus had a bounty placed on his head. The Horde, wanting to have any lavage at all against the Alliance, did so as well. From the end of Legion up until a week or two into the Nazjatar and Mechagon campaign, he has been travelling the world in an attempt to keep his head out of bounty hunter’s hands. Your muse can have either helped or endangered Jasculs and his family before they settled in Stormheim. Or, y’know. Tracked him down in his new home.
Actual old but quite emotionally clever fart: Jasculs has been through many phases in his life and has met a lot of different people and has fought against and with a lot of different people. Does your muse perhaps remember him from any of the Great Wars, or even the War of the Ancients? Possibly even before the Sundering? Maybe your muse needs emotional comfort/guidance; his age has brought Jasculs an immense amount of emotional knowledge, and his general presence tends to have a calming effect on people.
Militaries: There’s not a military on the face of Azeroth Jasculs hasn’t been a part of prior to the whole Outland ordeal.
Legion: Jasculs was involved in all of the Legion campaigns and played quite a role as tank and general adventurer. He is especially remembered in Suramar, Val’sharah, Stormheim, and Argus.
Dragon: Being a green dragon, Jasculs has a natural connection with nature and thus gets along quite well with hunters and druids. On the other hand, though, his demonic energies have animals freak out and attack him in his presence, which never fails to hurt his feelings. Your muse can help him be less threatening or teach him herbalism (he’s bad at it. Like, immensely. It’s embarrassing). Is your muse a dragon or dragonsworn or maybe even a dragon hunter? Maybe they sought him and his family out, but why? Did something with the Emerald Nightmare happen?
Self-proclaimed bodyguard: Not only does Jasculs attract trouble like a magnet attracts metal, he also has quite the habit of being in the area when other people attract it. He’s paranoid and devoted to keeping other people safe, even if they’re strangers; if your muse gets in trouble, Jasculs will more than happily jump in, whether his help is asked for or not, and even if he doesn’t know what’s going on.
OOC INFORMATION --- -

History
Evolution (before Year -150,000): The Vrykul are an ancient race descending from the iron vrykul, beings created by Titans during the The Ordering of Azeroth. In -15,000, The Curse of Flesh affected vrykuls in many different ways: the Dragonflayer clan of the vrykuls, turning them into organic vrykul we know of today. There are different types of vrykul. Frost_vrykul are made of two major factions: the The hyldnir an entirely female population of frost vrykul, located in the Storm Peaks, and the Ymirjar in central Icecrown who are undead and allied with the Lich King. These were vrykul who travelled to Jotunheim and fought at Valhalas. The winners of this competition are taken to Ymirheim and become Ymirjar. The losers become vargul. The Kvaldir are undead spirits, covered in green scales and barnacles created by Helya in order to serve her in Helheim. The Dragonflayer vrykul also are the predecessors for humans: the Curse eventually led to some of their young being smaller, weaker and “ugly” in the eyes of their people. Their king Ymiron ordered all those children to be killed but some parents couldn’t do it and hid them away in Northrend. In time, these small adult vrykul would form the early human tribes. Another group of vrykul settled in Kul Tiras and eventually became the Drust.
Winterskorn Warring (Year -150,000): Loken subdued most of the Keepers and removed the titan-forged out of Ulduar, the fire giants Volkhan and Ignis sought to conquer the Storm Peaks. They armed the the Winterskorn vrykul to attack other titan-forged across the Storm Peaks, beginning the Winterskorn War. Tyr was alerted when they attacked the earthen. Tyr asked the Dragon Aspects for aid, and the war ended with Ysera and Nozdormu putting the Winterskorn into a timeless sleep beneath northern Kalimdor. After discovering that some parents hadn’t complied with Ymiron’s orders, Skadi hunted them down and killed any of them he came across becoming known as Skadi the Ruthless. In an attempt to stave off the curse of flesh, the Dragonflayers went to sleep beneath northern Kalimdor in areas such as Gjalerbron. The Tribunal of Ages, a record of false history created by Loken claims that he ordered this hibernation.
A Rude Awakening (Year -10,000): After the Sundering, many vrykul were awakened and took the seas: some taking to Kul Tiras eventually becoming the Drust.
Easy Recruitment (Year 27): When Lich King stirred from his Frozen Throne he sent his Scourge minions to swarm across the land, destroying all in their path. The remaining slumbering vrykul awakened beginning with those of Jotunheim. Many of them would come to believe that the Lich King was a god of death, and pledged themselves to him and the Scourge. The Winterskorn clan was made subservient to the Dragonflayer. When they arrived in Northrend, the Alliance and the Horde built two ports on the shores of the Howling Fjord, Valgarde and Vengeance Landing. The vrykul of the Dragonflayer clan turned against Valgarde, launching attacks led by Ingvar the Plunderer from the fortress of Utgarde Keep. In turn, the Winterskorn clan turned against Vengeance Landing. The dwarven Explorer's League began excavating Dragonflayer ruins near Valgarde, speculating that the vrykul were related to humans. Thoralius the Wise, sent an Alliance adventurer into the spirit world to uncover the vrykul's past, where they found two visions of the past which revealed the events described above, thus revealing that there was no "missing link"; rather, the vrykul themselves were the missing link – they were the progenitors of humanity. Other vrykul were seen around Northrend, often helping the Scourge. They held competitions where many elite warriors competed for the chance to become powerful undead servants of the Lich King. The victors were made undead and became known as the Ymirjar, those who were not successful, or who fell in battle with adventurers, were turned into vargul instead. The val'kyr, winged spirits of vrykul women with vast necromantic powers under the control of the Lich King, raised them. Those in Valkyrion aspired towards this state. However, even the vrykul loyal to the Scourge were fighting each other. Other vrykul refused the call of the Lich King, such as a small holdout of hyldnir situated in Brunnhildar Village who reasserted their loyalty to the titans, or at least to the Keeper Thorim. One of their number, Sif, had been Thorim's wife a long time ago, and they held a contest, the Hyldsmeet, to see which among them would prove worthy to rule alongside Thor in her place. Within the halls of Ulduar, a number of vrykul could be found as members of the Twilight's Hammer. ]Loken also used the Forge of Wills to create new titan-forged vrykul, iron vrykul uncorrupted by the curse of flesh, to serve him. By the time the Ashen Verdict invaded to Icecrown Citadel, most of the vrykul loyal to the Scourge had been either killed or wiped out entirely in Icecrown. Some of the remaining val'kyr pledged themselves to Sylvanas Windrunner becoming part of the Forsaken.
Back On Dragon Wing (Year 28): A group of vrykul became elite drake riders who served as Deathwing's personal guard, led by Warmaster Blackhorn.
The Family Tree (Year 30): Lorewalker Cho showed an undead their ancestors and two vrykul appeared as the character's furthest ancestors, confirming humanity's evolutionary line.
Broken Shores, Broken Giants (Year 32): The vrykul of Stormheim on the Broken Isles were ruled by the unnamed husband of Queen Bretta until his son, Jarl Skovald, murdered him with the help of his brothers Voldgar, Agnol, Uldgar. The brothers then turned on each other, with Skovald being victorious. He then fought his mother at Kingsfall Pass and proclaimed himself king. Gul'dan approached God-King Skovald with an offer to join the Burning Legion and receive ultimate power, or be destroyed. Skovald and his Tideskorn vrykul allied themselves with the Burning Legion and sought to claim one of the Pillars of Creation for their demonic masters. To gain access to the Halls of Valor, Skovald perverted the ancient trials that open the Gates of Valor. During the Trial of Might, he shattered Yotnar instead of besting him and tried to destroy Aggramar's Vault so that no one else could know the criteria for the other trials from the titan databases. In the Trial of Will, he enslaved the Thorignir. During the Trial of Valor, he used the Bonespeakers to attempt to enslave the souls of the ancient rulers of Stormheim, forcing them to give their blessing. Odyn, under the disguise of Havi, guided an order champion in their quest to beat the trials and retrieve the Aegis before Skovald. While the Felskorn assaulted the Gates of Valor, both challengers met, but Skovald left the fight before there could be a victor. The champions proceeded to beat Odyn's own challenges within the Halls of Valor, and earned the right to wield the Aegis of Aggramar. Skovald suddenly appeared however, demanding that Odyn acknowledge his claim to the Aegis, a protest that Odyn said came too late. Skovald attempted to claim the Aegis by force, but was killed. Other vrykul remained loyal to Odyn. These Valarjar vrykul mainly inhabited Valdisdall. An adventurer who fought a pit lord by Odyn alongside other vrykul who took up arms against the demons was uplifted by Odyn and made Battlelord of the Valarjar armies. A forgotten tomb named Tomb of the Old Kings contained the remains of several great vrykul Kings. Odyn sent his Battlelord, with the help of Hruthnir son of Magnar, in the tomb to reclaim the armament of the Black Wyrm from the hand of the King Magnar Icebreaker. However the tomb was deconsecrated by the unholy magic from the Burning Legion and the guardian didn't recognize the Odyn's envoys. The Battlelord and Hruthnir fought the tortured spirits of Magnar and his soldiers. Vanquished, Magnar recognised his son and gave the Scale of the Earth-Warder to the Battlelord to avenge his death in fighting Helya. The spirits of Magnar and his soldiers were sent to the Halls of Valor. In the Shield Hill, the spirit of Gorvold Ironbrow was called by the Tahu Sagewind and Orik Trueheart in order to find the place of a powerful artefact of the Light against the demons. The Gorvold's Story led the paladins group to the Tomb of the Old Kings. Inna the Cryptstalker tried to stop the despoilers to enter in the tomb but she was killed by the paladins. In the Shrine of the Truthguard, Yrgrim the Truthseeker, champion of Tyr, and Runeshaper Griselda challenged the paladin's group and lost the battle. He accepted his defeat and gave Truthguard for the future Highlord of the Silver Hand to become the new champion of Tyr. Later, Prustaga helped the Unseen Path to penetrate in the Tomb of the Old Kings in order to find a powerful artifact against the Legion. When they entered the tomb of Warlord Volund, his spirit was awakened. Taking the intruders for thieves, he decided to defend his tomb. When his spirit had been vanished, Prustaga betrayed the Unseen Path and took the Titanstrike. Her next and last move was to lead her vrykul followers to the Temple of Storms in order to absorb the powers of the storm and the makers. Finally, she has been killed with several of her followers by an alliance between Thorim and the Unseen Path. Next, several vrykul from Valarjar led by Thorim, Hymdall and the Battlelord helped to the free Hodir, who was trapped in Felblaze Ingress by Lady Ran'zara and her demons. Sigryn, the heir of God-King Skovald, was prophesized by Eyir long ago to unite the Tideskorn against the Burning Legion. Seeking to make right the damage done by her father, Sigryn decided to fulfill her destiny. She defeated the leaders of the Bonespeakers and Drekirjar in single combat and forced them to acknowledge her claim. But when her brother Torvald, whom she believed was long dead, revealed that the assassination of their family was orchestrated by Odyn himself, which Eyir confirmed, Sigryn was consumed by anger. She let the fel power in her blood consume her and headed to the Halls of Valor in an attempt to confront Odyn. Fortunately, an order champion was able to dissuade her before she faced Odyn, who would not have been kind to her. She apologized to Eyir for her rampage and sought her judgement. Despite her misgivings, Sigryn showed that she possessed the strength and willpower to overcome the fel, something no vrykul had done before. Eyir thus decided that, instead of being punished, she was to assume the burden of the crown, and rule the Tideskorn as their God-Queen.
Free Trade (Year 33): After Zandalar opened its port to non-trolls, a group of vrykul traders arrived to sell their wares. Enges, a vrykul Fjarnskaggl trader can also be found in Boralus Harbor.
