If you were making a Frankenstein movie how would you do it?

Hm...thats hard! Obviously I think I'd like to take an accurate approach because thats what I'm familiar w. But not like. Be totally averse to some artistic liberties,just not as heavily as like universal. No shade against them! From what I hear its a great film tho I've never had opportunity to watch it,it's just what my preference would be.

I think one thing that I would definitely include is to have characters be accurate to their age. Victor is always 30 something in the clips ive seen of him in adaptations, or at very least late 20s. I think it would drive in an aspect that makes victors actions a little more understandable then in other adaptations if you actually were reminded that hey,Victor is like. 17-19. Hes some stupid ass late teen/very early 20s college kid for the entire book.

I'm an artist,so I go ham on the idea of animation. The idea of a 2D animated Frankenstein seems really cool to me. If it was me making it like full on,I think it would be fun to integrate my artstyle more into it. A vintage storybook styled animated Frankenstein sounds like it would be rly fun. Maybe have a narration come in at certain points (not 24/7 bc I think that would drive the audience bonkers,only during Special Scenes) and then the text would show on the side like ur reading a book.

Lots of people suggest this in general and im definitely not the first to say this,but having each character symbolized by an instrument in the soundtrack. More utilized in scenes very important to their character specifically. Maybe using some reprised or something. I think also using silence would b good for a lot of scenes. Like creacher exploring at some points and trying to adjust to watching the delaceys,only hearing the muffled noise of them talking or delaceys guitar.

Victor walking towards his room after bringing tc to life in complete dead silence,only to collapse and fall asleep. Maybe a little noise when Victor gets scared at first and then definetly when building to the nightmare and the creature looming over him,him, music would return and grow louder and louder..

Also maybe some parts of his graverobbing /slowly growing fevered making tc might be better in like. Quiet

A lot of adaptations shove Eliza × Vic Hard. And whilst they usually remove the disgusting context or straight up never address it. Its still kinda gross to me. I think im gonna do a power move and remove any sort of romance altogether. Since ive been more talking abt a adaptation thats book accurate, I would mske it very clear that the relationship was being forced upon by the parents. Id make the mere mention of it make both Victor and Elizabeth evidently Very Uncomfortable with it to the audience and make it clear that what Alphonse and Caroline are doing is Gross.

If this was its own thing that was less to the plot of the book like an au,i might remove any aspect of it altogether and have them just be adopted siblings.

Clervalstein canon. Waltonstein canon. Elizastine(eliza and justine) canon. Power.

This would probably be an idea that would be hard to do but having the characters talk in their original accents would be cool. They are always American or British in spite of being in Switzerland/France/Germany.

Then again I do get the reasons they do that. I just think it would be something interesting.

I think..maybe like. A added part to the ending,where Ernest gets a letter addressed from either Margaret or Robert . Or maybe them visiting the graves w him. It would be very brief and silent tho.
