I agree Milo is bit of a dick and his fondness religion does slow his reasoning but, isn't this bool a good thing? I mean it gives us a learning experience at what a gay right winger thinks. He does have somethings I agree and disagree on but stopping a person from talking because of your "feewings" is extremely stupid of you to do anon. People will say things you don't like, the quicker you learn that, the quicker you can grow the fuck up. Plus basically telling Claude "kys" is childish as hell
I don't even caaaaare about the fucking book! It is merely the tangential catalyst of the shit that started what I do care about! Every rant I went on on twitter was in direct reaction to people comparing “I’ll disagree with what you say but defend your right to say it” to covertly supporting oppression when we as marginalized creators have and need that right too and decrying the CBLDF due to a statement released by them and others AGAINST organizational boycotts like The Chicago Review of Books which “announced its intent to protest the publisher’s decision by refusing to review any books published by Simon & Schuster, even though that would deprive its readers of information about books from more than two dozen Simon & Schuster imprints, including Salaam Reads, which focuses on books with Muslim characters.”
Like does anyone see the flaw in trying to force a publisher to not publish something because they disagree with the author’s ideas and actions? Does anyone fear the precedent that that can set? Does anyone object to normalizing guilt by association? Does anyone remember how that was the tactic right wingers and conservatives used and use against us?
But if we wanna derail and talk about the book’s author, fine, then like @fangnominous said and you echo: there is a benefit in seeing and understanding how a gay right winger thinks and what brought him to the views he has (and further, how can super conservatives rally around a guy who sleeps with men since, well, last I checked not many are fond of the whole gay thing when it’s not girl on girl porno.) If you wish to convince an opponent that their way of thinking is wrong and your way is right, you must first understand what they think and why, not just dismiss them with buzzwords because obviously, that hasn’t worked.
