#that B-plot mystery fizzled so hard though #they… staged an assassination attempt with a feckless assassin who was meant to die #in a situation where they knew several members of the berserker paladin order would be present #but the goal apparently was… not to trigger the paladins into a battle rage?? why would you *not* incorporate that into your evil scheme???? #it’s *free* murder! #god I’m unsatisfied on multiple levels #if Nettle & Bone read like the outline of the book it could have been #then Paladin’s Grace read like fanfic of a better book about the same characters #anyway I’m going to the library now and I’m gonna find a fantasy book that I didn’t hear about from my friends’ Instagram stories #my husband also had a rec for me when I said I wanted actual religious worldbuilding… but it’s Yet More Fantasy Catholicism
