every day i love the documentary crew more i initially assumed they suspected guillermo was embezzling so they tailed him to catch him spending money and confirm it, but then i realised. they showed a little montage of him stealing money at the club. which means these guys have known guillermo was embezzling for at the very least DAYS and they were sitting on that knowledge waiting for the perfect opportunity to drop the bomb and watch him squirm. the documentary crew are the real masterminds of wwdits

He had been doing this for the last few days now.  Feeding the brunette his memories, occasionally letting her out of her binds so she could actually eat.  She was still fighting him, but he could tell she was tired.  Well, he wasn’t letting her sleep either.  It was so that she would be more docile when they got to the sacrificial chamber.  He still couldn’t understand why she couldn’t see his side of things.  He was doing her a solid by letting her live on.  Sure, being undead had its own bad things, but she’d still be able to live on and also without Jack pestering her since he could hide her.  Yet, she stubbornly declined him ever single time.  He had to admit though, he was beat.  She was draining his energy too by constantly fighting him.
“We’re here Captain.”
“Good, prepare the boats.  Get someone up here in case she tries to fight again.”
“Yes Captain.  You know, it’s a real shame she’ll be dead soon.  I had a lot of fun with her.  Say, maybe you should bring her back for us to play with.”
He frowned.  He definitely made a mistake by letting his crew have her.  Now they saw her as less.  “You are to not speak of her in that way.  She is more respectful than I let her be when I captured her.  I should have never let you men toy with her.” He continued.
The man fell silent.  “I best go send someone to help you.” He said quickly before running off.  At least that was sorted.
He went into the room where the brunette was held, she was currently half asleep.  She looked exhausted, even though her gaze was as defiant as ever.  He started to undo the binds he had put to secure her to the bed.
“Judai, I would hate for us to end on this note.”
“Then stop letting your regrets consume you and go through with it.” She said.  “I just simply don’t want to live in a body where I can’t die.” She said.
“Then what of you having fun exploring my ship?  You were the one that’s so fascinated by ghost ships.”
“Yes they’re fun, but I don’t want to live forever.” She said.
“No matter what you say to me, no matter what you show me using your abilities, I won’t submit to you.  You can’t just change my mind like that.”
He began to secure her wrists and ankles together so that she wouldn’t run off.  He seriously doubted she would since she seemed so ready to accept her death, but at the same time, you could never be too sure.  She still fought him, she was always fighting him when he bound her.  It must be her flight or fight attitude.
“Why do you even bother with this?  You know I can’t go far.” She said.
“It’s better to be safe than sorry.” He said.  “I’ve been meaning to ask you, where did you put those bullets you stole from my gun.”
“I won’t tell you.” She said.  “Search my mind all you want, but you won’t find out!” she said.
He guessed that he would have to use the traditional method of the sword.  He swung the brunette over his shoulder.  She honestly didn’t even weigh much.  How did someone like her rip off a chain from the wall and destroy his cell door?    He saw the other man walk towards him.
“Guess I didn’t need your help this time.  She’s being quite a good girl right now.”
“Say that again and I will bite your fingers off.” The brunette said.  He could practically hear the frown in her voice.  She was still as fighty as she was before.  It would seem that she’d stay fighting till she was dead.  He wondered if he should knock her out since she wasn’t going to go willingly.  Besides, it would save them both from using up all of their energy.  He said nothing and carried on walking with her.  She had stopped fighting him right now and just let him carry her.  She probably was tired.  He looked at the brunette and found that she was sound asleep, well that made it easier.
When they got into the place, he set the mirror back where it was and set the brunette down in the sacrificial chamber.  As soon as he set her down, her eyes opened.  She looked up at him, then at her surroundings.  She didn’t say anything.  He wasn’t too surprised.  Of course, how calm she was was alarming.  Maybe because she accepted her death?  How calm she was made him nervous.  He wondered if it was because she was preparing herself to be with her loved one?  She had lost Edo who she loved, maybe that’s why she was so calm.
“Yusei will probably be here soon.”
The brunette said nothing.  She looked like she was in deep thought.
“Hopefully, he won’t object too much.” She said.  “He was trying to make something that wouldn’t work work.  It’s silly.” She said.
“Why are you so calm?” he found himself asking.
“I guess because everyone dies some day.” She replied.
He didn’t really like her reply, there was no smart reply.  She didn’t even say that Yusei would stop him from his deeds.  There was no gratification for him at this point.  Also, given that he had seen her past, it was even worse.
“You seem to not like my answer.”
“I was expecting some sort of fight from you.”
“I guess, but at the same time I’m being realistic.  There’s no way Yusei could go back without sacrificing something.  Honestly, a wish that requires so much would surely need a big sacrifice.  I’m not going to try and make myself sound heroic, but it kills two birds with one stone, right?  You get Yusei and Yusei of the future gets to go back to the correct timeline.” She said.
He would have preferred it if she had hated him, yelled at him.  Fought him.  She was right, he could feel guilt seeping through his conscience.  He hated to admit it, the brunette had him clocked down as well.  Even though she was going to die though, she still had a look of strength in her eyes.  He couldn’t understand it.  Perhaps this was how someone with nothing to lose felt.
“Well, I better go outside.”
“I guess you gotta play your role as the villain now.” She mused.
“Yes, I suppose so.” He said, before knocking her out cold.
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
He stepped outside, sure enough, Yusei was there.  He had a determined look on his face.  It was odd to him since although it looked like Yusei, he definitely wasn’t.  Then suddenly, he saw another ship pull up alongside Yusei’s.  Even after all these years, it wasn’t hard for him to recognise the blond man stood at the front of it.  Hatred coursed through his body.  It felt stronger than usual.  Perhaps it was because he had recently seen the brunette’s past?  So the extra hatred he felt was to do with her?  Not to mention, he had carved into Yusei’s face as well.  He couldn’t forgive that.
He didn’t expect this development, Yusei and Jack definitely didn’t see eye to eye.  But he pinned it down to Yusei deciding that he couldn’t defeat him, he wasn’t wrong.  He was barely adjusted to this world, so he could see that.
“It’s strange seeing you two see eye to eye.”
“I’m only here to get Judai.” The blond replied.  He couldn’t believe it, Kiryu was before his eyes.  The man he had killed a few years ago, here in front of him.  Yusei wasn’t lying.  He was back.  Probably after his own head for taking his life.  He could see that the brunette was no where to be seen.  Meaning that she was most likely to be inside.
“Yeah, your supposed girlfriend.” The undead male replied, malice in his voice.
Yusei felt odd, there was something off about Kiryu.  When he saw him last, his malice and hatred for Judai was practically leaking out, but now his anger seemed to be directed somewhere else.  Namely Jack.  Since Crow filled him in, he knew that Kiryu was referring to when Jack used to lie, calling Judai his girlfriend.  It was far from it.  He felt odd though, Judai wouldn’t be the kind to share her story with a complete stranger.  Did she even tell him?  Who knew, but all he knew, he didn’t expect it to be this way.  With Kiryu’s demeanour, it was almost as if he was still trying convince himself that he hated Judai.
“Well, I wish you two good luck.  I’m not going to make it that easy.” He smirked.
“Kiryu, why are you doing this?  Isn’t there a better way to solve this?” Yusei said.
Kiryu didn’t respond, instead, the two males found that they could feel rumbling at the bottom of their feet.  Suddenly a giant monster burst from the seas.  It was black with blue glowing lines on it.  He knew that this was a diversion.  It would be preferable if Jack had died in the middle of the carnage.  But that would be being super optimistic.  He watched as his monster raged and terrorised the others.  This should put a good distance between then.  He didn’t even know why he was carrying on this charade.  His eyes fell upon the monster, thinking about how the brunette would have been excited to see it.
“Do you have an undead monster you control?” she asked excitedly, curiosity in her eyes.
“Yes, I do.  But I’d prefer not to use it.”
“Why not?  You can spook so many people with it!  I mean wow, I think because I was so focused on escaping, I actually forgot I was on a ghost ship!” she replied.  He was convinced that this would be the weirdest response someone had to being on a ghost ship.  Much like when she was suggesting that he should be feeding people stew or soup with weird creatures in it.   “I’m honestly so disappointed!  I would have thought that the ship would be gross and look like it’s falling apart.”
“Look, I’m kinda new to this undead thing.  I just woke up and found out that I was still dead but alive.” He said with a deadpan tone and expression.
“How did you even discover your powers?  I mean you can do a lot with them and plus you have an undead monster.  It’s kinda cool.”
“Maybe we should be swapping places then.”
“No offence to you, but I would hate to be undead because it’d feel like there isn’t much of a purpose for me.  Maybe it works for you, but I like to live life at the fullest.” The brunette replied.
“That’s fair.” He replied, this would be a problem as he was hoping he could at least do something that would amend this mistake he was going to make.  It wasn’t like he could go back now.  He couldn’t just go back and drop Judai off and pretend that nothing had happened.  And the fact that he had let his crew do as they pleased with her, that was something he couldn’t just pretend didn’t happen.  How was she so calm about that?  She was speaking to him in a civil manner.  Acting like they had met each other and had become friends on normal terms.
He had to stick out with his plan.  He also had to stop her from leaving the ship.  Perhaps, he could convince her to join him.
He couldn’t believe he had thought about the brunette at a time like this.  He supposed it was because she had quite an interesting personality.  Also because she acted so different from other people.  She was also rather diabolical in her own way.  Having her on your crew would probably bring you great advantage.
He carried on watching the monster cause havoc.  He wondered briefly whether he should go inside and check that the brunette was still there.  She may have escaped.  However, the last time they talked, she seemed rather determined to face her death head on.  It felt wrong when the person was acting like they were fine with dying when they didn’t exactly deserve to die.  That was why her last words to him were true.  He was out here playing the villain.  He honestly didn’t know what he wanted to do.
This situation was a bad one, if the monster attacked anymore, his and Jack’s ship will actually fall apart.  He had to find a way around this or else he wouldn’t be able to even remotely get to where Kiryu was.  He couldn’t help but wonder about Judai’s situation.  He was worried about her.  He wondered if she was still fighting.  No, he had to focus, he couldn’t afford to get distracted here.  That was right, one wrong move and that would be bad.
“Jeez, Kiryu went all out huh?” Crow said.
“I suppose so.  I don’t even know how to work around this one.”
“I don’t think any of us have experience with undead monsters.”
“That’s true.  It’s not every day you meet the undead.”
“I do have an idea though, leave it to me, Yusei.  You go and fight the undead crew and get Judai back!”
“Thanks Crow!”
He ran forward, attacking and clashing with the crew that was in his way.  He could see from the corner of his eye that Jack had followed him.  Of course he would.  Jack wasn’t really here to help, he was more interested in getting Judai back.  He fought on, hoping that he could break through and get to her soon.
“It’s so weird to be fighting side by side with you again, Yusei.”
“I guess, what do you want, Jack?  I know you don’t have my best interests in mind.”
Jack honestly didn’t know why he had said such things to Yusei.  But ever since Judai had said those words to him and thanked him, he started to feel oddly nostalgic.  He shook it off, he needed to stay strong.
“Well, of course I’m here to take Judai back.  But can’t I sometimes reminisce upon the old times?  We did briefly become something at one point.  Well, that was until you stole my ship from me.”
“You stole it from Kiryu first.”
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
He had vowed revenge from that day on.  When he watched Jack murder Kiryu in front of his eyes, when he kicked him into the ocean heartlessly.  Even as he made his way onto the ship, he had only one plan and one plan in mind.  Even if it was a disgusting notion.  He will do it regardless, so he did.  He walked through the crowd of shocked sailors and crew members, Crow walking with him as well.  It had been a year since the incident.  The incident was still burned in his mind though, he could never look past it.
“Hello, Jack.  It’s been a while.” He said as pleasantly as possible.
“Oh Yusei, how lovely to see you.  Hope you’ve been doing well.”
“I’ve been doing well, managed to turn my way around after that incident.  I think being on the island did Crow and I some good.  Got some fresh air.” He replied.  “So I don’t hate you for it, Jack.” He replied.  “Why don’t we have a chat in private?” he said.
He was disgusted in himself, he wanted to cut Jack done, but he had to lay out this well.  He couldn’t just do it like that, no, Jack had to suffer.
“Alright.  I’ll be right back, gentlemen.” He said as he started gesturing for Yusei to follow him.
“Listen Jack, I’ve been thinking over this past year.  I was destroyed when you killed Kiryu, but now that it’s been a year, I find that I’m thinking of you a lot.”
“That’s rather forthcoming of you, Yusei.  But I can’t say I don’t hate it.” The blond smirked.  Yusei was an attractive man after all.  “So you’re implying that you want to join me?”
“Yes.”
“Well, why not.” He said.
“What about that girl you have in your pendant.”
“She’s my girlfriend, but she doesn’t have to know.” He smirked.  “Besides, being at sea can be lonely sometimes.”
“That is true.”
“Well, this is a wonderful surprise.  I’m glad we can see eye to eye, Yusei.”
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
He never thought that he would be in this situation.  He thought he had it all, but he was duped.  Now he found himself suffering the same fate as Kiryu did.
“How does it feel Jack?  You think your crew that betrayed its previous Captain wouldn’t betray you?” the raven haired male smirked.  “You reap what you sow, Jack.”
“I’ll get you back, Yusei.  Just you see.”
“Sure, sure.  Now walk.” The raven haired male said as he thrusted the sword at the blond man.
Then off he went, into the sea he went.
He was going to get back at him.  He vowed it.
After that, whenever they met, they would fight, butt heads.  Yusei, because he couldn’t forgive Jack for killing Kiryu and Jack, because Yusei betrayed him.
It was basically very much the same on the fateful day when he had met the brunette.  As soon as he saw her, fighting Jack with everything she has, refusing to back down, he couldn’t help but admire her.  When he caught a good glimpse of her, he realised who she was.  That was his supposed girlfriend.  She didn’t look like she wanted him, but with how Jack looked at her, he sure wanted her.  So he did what was right.
“I disagree, I can still go higher.” He said as he walked towards them.  The brunette looked at him, those eyes of hers like gems.  A look a relief on her face.  Jack was angered, he was furious.  He could see it all on his face and he loved it.
“You watch it, Yusei.  I’m going to take that wench off of you when you are least expecting it.  You better sleep with one eye open.” the blond male hissed at him, angry that he had taken what was rightfully his.  He couldn’t help but smirk at the other, he had won.  Besides, in a way, he had saved that poor girl from a life of suffering.  She definitely didn’t want to go with him.  She looked like she was going to drown herself in the ocean.
“That’s if you ever catch up, Jack.” He sneered.
Jack had left in a hurry after that, without a word, empty handed.
It was just the two of them now.  Well, Crow was here too.  He found it difficult to look away from the brunette’s mismatched eyes.  They were almost like a treasure of their own.  He then realised that the brunette’s wrists were injured.
“Hey, Crow.  Could you go grab the medicine box, please?” he said.
“Sure thing!” he said as he ran off.
“Quite a fight you put on there, miss.” He said, rather impressed at the strength such a fragile looking girl had.
“Well, it’s not like being a slave is an enticing role.” She quickly retorted.  “Especially not towards that man.”
“You got me there.” He smiled.  She seemed to see something in his smile, but he decided not to think too much on it.
Crow had returned with a box in his hands, quickly, he took some antiseptic and bandages from it.
“Just a word of warning, it’s going to sting.” He said as he started uncapping a bottle.  She didn’t say anything, only looking down at her own wrists.  She must have realised that she had injured them now.  In the heat of the moment, she probably didn’t feel the pain.
“I’d be surprised if it didn’t.” She replied.  As the liquid touched her wounds, she didn’t make a noise, Yusei had to check that he had the right bottle because of that.
“Wow, are you some seasoned soldier or something?  Yusei, did you see that?  She didn’t even flinch!” Crow said.
Yusei didn’t reply, only went to bandage up her wounds.  He was actually quite impressed inside.  She fascinated him.
“We should probably get out of here before the guards come.” He said thoughtfully.
“Yeah, true.”
“Where are we going?” she asked, curiosity flashing in her eyes.
“To my ship.”
“Are you a pirate by any chance?”
“Yes, I am.”
“He’s one of the notorious too!” the orange haired male said.  “Oh!  I better run back onto the ship!  Gotta set up before we set off!  I’m Crow by the way, little lass!” he called before running off.  Why did Crow have to say that?  That was going to set up the bar for him now.
“So your name is Yusei from what I’ve gathered, right?  And you’re a notorious pirate?”
“Don’t mind Crow, he likes to brag about it.” He said.  “I’m Yusei and from now on, you will live on my pirate ship with me.  Won’t you tell me your name, miss?”
“My name is Judai.  I think living on your pirate ship sounds awfully grand to me, Master Yusei.” She replied.  He could feel himself flushing inwardly.  This girl had a smart mouth on her, but perhaps that was why she seemed to glow and glimmer.
“Just Yusei is fine, it sounds weird with the word ‘Master’.” He corrected her.
“You’re funny and I like that, Yusei.”
“Well, I’m glad.  You’re funny too, Miss Judai.” He found himself smiling, holding out his hand, he gestured for her to take his.  She happily obliged and walked with him slowly to the ship.
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
They were crowding around them now.  This was a problem.  How was he going to get to Judai at this rate?  Kiryu could have already killed Judai already and he wouldn’t have gotten to her.  This was awful.  He pushed through, swinging and slashing his sword.  He must to get to her, he mustn’t back down.  She wouldn’t want that.  After all, she was worth the fight.  Call him foolish, foolishly in love.  He could move mountains for her.
He rushed through the group of men, only to be blocked by more.  Where were they all coming from?  Suddenly, another blade came into view.  He looked up and saw the blond man.
“You go on ahead, I’ll hold them back.”
“This may actually be the one redeeming I’ve seen you do for a while, Jack.”
“Shut up before I change your mind.  Go save, Judai.”
“Thank you.” He said as he ran through into the cave that Kiryu had disappeared into.  He kept on running.  He was desperate to get to Judai.  Was she alright or was he too late?
He was running through the darkness, it was so very dark.  He could barely see.
Where was he heading?
Where was this tunnel leading?
Then suddenly, he was hit by bright lights, he halted in his steps.  He stood there, a deer caught in the headlights.
“Nice of you to join us, Yusei.” He heard an all too familiar and sadistic voice say.  He didn’t know how to react.  There Kiryu was, sat on the floor.  Next to him-
Judai.
She wasn’t moving, she was out cold.
Or worse…
“Don’t worry, she’s still alive.” He smirked as he ran a his fingers through her hair sadistically.  “Quite a spirited one.  I finally got her to settle down… Today.” He said.
“Kiryu, let her go.  She has nothing to do with this.”
“Oh but she has everything to do with this.  She’s your ticket out of here.”
“What do you mean?”
“To wish for a heavy wish, you must pay an equally heavy price.” The other male said smirking.
“I won’t.  I refuse!” he said as he made a step towards them.  He halted when the blue silver haired male brought a gun out and held it to the brunette’s head though.
“Oh no, I don’t think so, Yusei.  One step and I will shoot her.” He smirked.  “Though, I do feel a little bit sad for her.  I admit that if it were any other way, I wouldn’t have chosen her as a sacrifice.”
“Then why are you still doing this, Kiryu?”
“Because I love Yusei, the one that lives in this timeline.” He said.  “And you need to go back.”
“Couldn’t we use Jack instead?  We all have our differences with him.”
“Oh believe me, I would in a heartbeat.  But the sacrifice has to be something you care about, not just any person.”
“So you chose Judai because I care about her.”
“Of course.”
He fell silent.  No, he couldn’t do this, not like this.  If he had to sacrifice Judai, he would rather not do anything at all.  He would rather stay here.  His eyes fell on the brunette who was asleep.  Her wrists and ankles bound.  She looked so tired.  She looked so fragile and so weak suddenly.  He hated this.  He hated how Judai looked.  He was so used to the head strong, fiery personality.  To see her on the floor, beaten down, he couldn’t do this.
“Let her go, Kiryu.  I don’t know how much you know of her past, but she doesn’t deserve this.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to put her out of her misery if that were the case?” he said.
“No!  Let her live!  All she ever wanted to do was live!” he cried.
“Awww, this is rather touching, but it won’t work like this.  Now go make your wish.  You know nothing about this world, Yusei.”
“No.  I love her.  I can’t do that.”
Then, as if the brunette had heard him calling.  As she stirred, the both of them froze.
Wait… Both?  Why was Kiryu freezing?
“Yu-Yusei?” the brunette said weakly.  She sounded so tired and confused.
Judai felt groggy.  God, did he have to hit her that hard to knock her out.  Her head hurt.  Still, she forced herself to wake up.  Right, the last thing she remembered… Her and Kiryu agreeing that he had to put on a show.  She wriggled around before she managed to find it.  Ah yes, the oh so familiar sound of a click sounded as the chains around her wrists hit the ground.
Kiryu looked over at the brunette.  So that’s where his key had gone.  When did she swipe it off off him?  That little sneaky…  Now that she was awake, he wasn’t sure whether he could keep this persona on anymore.  He was a lot less darker than he thought he was.  So he pointed his gun at her, pretending to be ready to shoot her.
“Now, now.  Don’t worry, I know the odds and I won’t escape.  I just don’t really like being confined you know?” she mused as she used the key to unlock the shackles around her ankles.
Yusei could see even from afar that Judai’s wrists were heavily wounded.  Her ankles had suffered the same fate.  They looked so angry and sore, yet she moved around and stretched as if everything was fine.  She sat there, in a calm demeanour.
“So, what did I miss?”
“I’ve been telling Yusei how he needs to sacrifice you to get to the timeline he was meaning to get to.”
“Ah, so we’re at that bit.” The brunette said.  A little too calmly.  This threw Yusei off.  Did Kiryu do something to Judai?
“Yusei, he’s right.  You can’t go back unless you sacrifice me.”
“Judai, surely you’re not meaning that right?  Did Kiryu do something to you?”
“No, Yusei.  You have to do it.  Don’t worry, I’ll be alright.  I understand anyway.”
“Judai, I can’t just do that.”
“Yes you can, you’ll go to the future and meet the me you wanted to meet and Kiryu will be with the Yusei that is from this timeline.”
“Then what about you?” Yusei asked.  What about her?  Judai will be completely forgotten, wiped out of everyone’s memories.
“I don’t think I was supposed to belong here. Yusei.  Besides, it’s better this way for everyone.” She said.  “Don’t think of me as being great or heroic.  I’m just doing it because that’s the best outcome.”
“How can it be better if you die?”
“Yusei, don’t worry about it.”
“No, I agree with Yusei.” A new voice said.  It was Jack.
The brunette gritted her teeth.  “Since when do you care, Jack?” she said as she started to stand up.  “You’ve only ever cared about yourself.” She bit.
This was getting out of hand.  He had not planned to have Jack in the room, but with him in the room, it would drive him insane.  Not to mention, he could feel the anger from Judai as well.
“Give her back, Kiryu.  Since when did you go after girls?” Jack said, he began to move towards them.
Kiryu quickly held a gun straight to the brunette’s head, Judai stood there tall though.  To be fair, only the two of them knew that there was actually no bullets in his gun.  Judai had stolen them all.  He couldn’t even find the spare ones he had.  Not to mention, even if the gun was loaded, he would have never shot Judai.
“You’re probably the only one that hasn’t noticed, Jack.  But the Yusei that’s here isn’t from this timeline.  He needs to go to a different timeline.  For that wish, a hefty price will have to be paid.” Kiryu said.  “So, this wench will have to suffice for the sacrifice.” He smirked as he pushed the gun closer to her head.
“How does it feel, Jack, to have someone you love at the risk of dying?  How does it feel to lose someone?” he gritted through his teeth.
“Oh please, Kiryu.  As if Yusei will go back for you after she’s gone.  He’s moved on.  You need to stop living in the past.” The blond man said, he was hoping to get to the other.  However, before he could get another line in, a voice cut in.
“As if you know anything Jack.” said the brunette.  Everyone was shocked, they had not expected her to say anything.  “How can you tell if Yusei had moved on or not?  You can’t just move on if you love someone.  You of all people should understand that!” she said.
“I will not allow you to die like this.”
“I don’t belong to you, Jack.” The brunette said.
“Come on, Judai.  Did Kiryu brainwash you?  Where is your usual fighting spirit?”
“Shut up.” She said lowly, you could however, hear the anger in her voice.  Then suddenly in a flash, the gun was in her own hands, now she had the weapon pointed at her own head.  “I’m so sick of everyone trying to run my life.  I’d rather be dead than have anyone else run my life.” She said.
This was a development that even Kiryu couldn’t see happening.  It was less distressing for him since he knew that the gun wasn’t loaded, but the brunette was putting up a rather good show.  However, he could tell that by her eyes that if there was actually a bullet in there, she would have pulled the trigger.
“If I were you, Jack.  I’d give up on this stupid quest of trying to get me to be yours.  You’re better off leaving now, or I may have to end my own life in front of your eyes.” She said.
“Judai, I love you.” The blond man said, for once worry and concern were in his eyes.
“So what?  I loved Edo and he died.” She said.  “People don’t belong to each other.” She said.  “Now, you either have the choice to stay here and be silent or you can leave before you see all of this unfolding before your eyes.” She said.
For once Jack looked distraught.  Like genuinely distraught and perhaps even seemed a bit guilty.  He said nothing, but walked to the back of the room and stood there.  Yusei took it as that he was going to stay watching silently.  Judai seemed to take it as that too as she handed the gun back to Kiryu.
“Yusei, life isn’t always rosy.  This is why the mirror has such a condition.  You can’t wish for something so big and not have to sacrifice something or even sometimes, it’s someone.” She said.  “Plus, you’ll be fine!  I’m sure if I adore you, future me will do the same.  Some of us are destined to live longer than others and some of us die young.  Life is such.  I’d rather it be that you go to the correct timeline and find happiness there than you being stuck here and trying to adjust to this life.”
He couldn’t do this anymore.  Ever since Judai had said that.
“People don’t belong to each other.”
The guilt in his heart had been slowly seeping through his veins.  This girl was being too damn heroic.  Acting so gracious even towards her death.  He couldn’t live with himself like this.  If he let her die here, then he would be unhappy, because Jack was right in a small way.  Yusei may have very well moved on and if he came back to find Judai dead, what would he think?  Wouldn’t he be just as bad as Jack when he had murdered him in front of Yusei’s eyes.
“Judai, that’s enough.” He found himself saying, he looked at her.  “I can’t do this to you, you’re right.  I wanted to have you join me so I would feel less guilty for killing you.  I hate to admit it, but you’re right, people don’t belong to each other.  I only wanted this because I thought that Yusei belonged to me.”
She said nothing, her eyes boring into his.
“I’ll take your place, if anything.  You should be the one to make a wish at all, anything you want.  You of all people deserve it the most.”
“Don’t pity me like that, Kiryu.” The brunette said.
“No, I’m not pitying you.  I’ve had my chance, Judai.  Like you said, I’m undead.  I’m just alive in my soul but not really much when it comes to my body.  You’re still alive, you should live on.  People that have died should move on.”
“But Yusei misses you.” The brunette said.
“He has you.” He said.  “As much as I hate to admit it, I was jealous, I didn’t want to see someone else being looked at by Yusei in that way.”
The brunette said nothing.
“Now, let me swap with you.”
“You never did let me see your cool undead monster.” The brunette pouted before walking out of the sacrificial chamber.  As soon as Judai left the chamber, Yusei couldn’t stop himself from running over and embracing her.  He was so sure he was going to lose her.
“Thank you, Kiryu.” The raven haired male said.
“Don’t mention it, Yusei.” He replied.  He was honestly glad that everyone in his timeline was alive again, when he had lost Kiryu, it hurt him so much.  To find that he was alive later honestly made everything so much better.
“Judai, please listen to me.” He said, taking the brunette’s hands.  They were so cold.  Usually they were so nice and warm.  “I don’t care if I stay here, I’m willing to give up my life in the future to stay here.  I’ll be able to adjust if I stay long enough.”
“No, Yusei.  You need to go to the correct timeline.” The brunette said firmly.  “I can’t let you do this.” She said.
“Judai, I love you.  I want you to wish for yourself instead.”
The brunette sighed, she knew he wasn’t going to just back down.  So she had an idea, she had to distract him.
“Yusei, please don’t make this harder than it needs to be.” She said as she made a subtle enough move that he was walking closer and closer to the mirror.”
“Judai, I don’t mind my life changing, I don’t mind being confused.  I will keep trying to prove it to you that I can do this.”
“Fine.  Have it your way.” The brunette said.  “You better learn the ropes of the ship!  I’m no Captain.” She said.
“Hey, Kiryu, I’m sorry that I’m going to be wishing for something really stupid like a whole pile of clothes or something.  You are worth more than that.  But I guess I can’t argue with him.” She laughed.
Just one more step.
Bingo.
She leant in and kissed him right on the lips.
“I wish for every happiness you could receive and that you two will be happy together.”
“I’m sorry, Yusei.” She said before shoving him into the mirror before he could register what she had done.  Yusei could see blurs and swirls.  He could feel himself falling and falling.
He just kept falling…
Where was he going?
What did Judai even wish for?
Suddenly, he felt himself hit the floor hard.  He winced in pain.
“Oh my god, are you okay?” a familiar voice sounded.
“I-I think so?” he managed before opening his eyes, when his vision finally came back, he saw a familiar face.
“Yusei?  Wait, Yusei is that really you?!” the brunet said, his face in surprise and shock.
It was Judai.  But wait, why was he in a dress?  Did the mirror not work?  Was Kiryu’s sacrifice in vain?
“Oh, I can see that you’re staring at me.  Yes, I’m in a dress.  I lost a bet so now I have to go as a Pirate wench.  It’s halloween and all.” The brunet sighed.
“Oh, okay.  That explains it.” The raven haired male said.
“How did you even get here?  I mean, I’m not mad about this, but I’m surprised that you even kept your word!  I thought you would have forgotten!” he said happily.
“It’s a very long story, Judai.”
“Well, the party’s not till later tonight.  This was just part of the deal.” He laughed.
“Uh… before I tell you, can I be rude and ask to use your shower?”
“Sure!  Feel free to throw your clothes in my washing machine too!   It’s a washer/dryer!  Oh, lemme get a towel for you!” he said as he walked out of the room.
“There you go!~  Bathroom is on the first right!”
“Thank you, Judai.”
“No problem!” he beamed.  “Oh and Yusei?”
“Hmm?”
“Thanks for dropping by!” the brunet teased.
Oh, that was so bad.  But he also wanted to laugh.  “That wasn’t funny, Judai.”
“I can see that you want to laugh though!” he smirked.  “Now go take your shower!”
Yusei couldn’t help but feel that today was going to be quite a long day, but he felt happy.  He had found him.  He had found Judai.
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
Tears ran down her cheeks, broken mirror shards laid on the ground all around her.
She couldn’t help it, she didn’t want to cry, but she did.  It hurt.  She would be lying if she didn’t admit that she did have feelings for him.  She did have deeper feelings than just a crush.  He was wonderful, but to have him stay in this timeline was wrong.  She wept into her hands as she knelt there.
A warm hand touched her shoulder, she turned around to see her Captain.  She quickly moved to wipe the tears from her eyes, but instead, he handed her his handkerchief.  She took it gratefully and wiped away her tears.
“I thought I was having a nightmare but I guess I’m still having it.” He said flatly.
“You know, you just completely ruined the moment with that comment, right?” she said with a sigh as she handed the handkerchief back to him.
He said nothing in return to that, only took it back from her.
“I suppose you and I have some things to sort out between the two of us.”
“No, you don’t say!” the brunette nipped back.  Normally, he would have been angry with that silver tongue of hers, however, he had seen everything unfold even though he wasn’t there, it felt like he was having a very long dream.  Or a nightmare in this case.
“That haircut suits you, by the way.  As much as I would have tried to stop you from doing that, I’m glad you feel better doing it, Judai.”
Judai looked at him.  Her mismatched eyes gazing at him.  These past few months had been very different for him.  He got to see Judai for who she was and what she could be.  He could see why she was so frustrated with being told to just sit there and look pretty.  She was more competent than she looked.
“Th-Thank you.” She said quietly, looking away quickly.
She was always not very honest with her feelings, even now.  He could see that she was thankful, but she was too proud to fully admit it.
“Let’s return to the ship.” He said as he moved closer, taking her in his arms and carrying her.
“W-What are you doing?!  I can walk by myself!”
“You’ve got no shoes on and also, you look extremely tired.” He replied before walking with her back to the ship.  She blushed, looked away.  It was then she realised that Jack had left.  He probably left as soon as he realised that she was going to be safe.  Then her eyes fell on the sacrificial chamber, expecting there to be nothing there, but she saw the blue silver haired male there.
“Yusei, wait.”
“What is it?”
“Look!” she said.
She could feel him stopping in his tracks when he realised who it was.  She saw the male slowly get up, he looked as puzzled as them.
“Wait, did it not work?” Kiryu asked confused.  He was still undead, from what the brunette could see.
“It did, he got sent to the right timeline.” The brunette replied.
The other walked over to them.  “Wait, if it worked, that means.”
“Yes, Kiryu.” The brunette smiled.  “Uhhh… I should probably get out of your way…” the brunette said bashfully.  However, her captain’s grip on her only tightened.
“No, it’s fine, Judai.”
“Kiryu, I’m so glad you’re back, even though it’s probably not in the way you wanted it to be.”
“Well, there’s plenty of things I could still do as an undead, so I suppose it isn’t too bad.  Plus I get all these fun powers.”
“I still don’t really get why it turned out this way, but I’m glad you didn’t disappear, Kiryu.” The brunette said.
“I think it’s because you gave the ultimate sacrifice.” Kiryu replied.  “You did a selfless thing by letting Yusei go back to his time, when you could have just let him stay here.”
“Yes, but you also did a noble thing by swapping places with me.” She replied.
“Perhaps it was because both of you did something selfless?” Yusei chimed in.  “Anyway, I hate to cut this conversation short like this, Kiryu.  But I think I should take Judai back to the ship.  She needs to rest.”
“I’m fine!  I’m good to go!” the brunette complained.  “Can you stop carrying me?  I don’t like feeling like a damsel!”
Stubborn as always, yes, that was Judai in a nutshell.  He frowned, he hated to do this, but he had to prove a point.  He pressed hard into her back, causing her to flinch.
“I wouldn’t call that fine, now would you, Judai.”
The brunette pouted and said nothing, only crossed her arms.
“You should go rest up yourself, Yusei.  We will definitely cross paths again anyway.” Kiryu said.
This had definitely turned out a lot better than what the brunette had expected.  Sure, there was still a lot to work on for the two of them, but at least her Captain was willing to talk it out and listen to her.  She in turn knew she had to listen to him as well.  This was a good starting point for the both of them.
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
He didn’t know how many months it had been since, but he was sure it had been at least three that had gone by.  He was sat on the sofa, his now partner in his arms.  Judai had been right, she was so right about how he would have never adjusted and that it was wrong.  It was a shame that he never got to properly say goodbye to her, he could only hope that after all of the things that had happened to her, she would get a break and maybe enjoy life a bit more?
He had told Judai everything that day he ended up at the current timeline.  At least Judai didn’t think he was a complete mad man, he even remarked that past him was pretty badass.  She was, she really was.  She was also selfless.  If she had been more selfish, this would have never happened.  He would have never ended up with the Judai he was meant to be with.  Turns out his fears were silly, Judai had feelings for him and had been hoping that he was going to come see him.  However, he did admit that he tried not to be too hopeful.
He smiled as he watched his lover, pulling him into an embrace.  The brunet at first seems to reciprocate the feelings until they both heard a game over sound.  The brunet pouted at him.
“I was doing so well too!”
“I’ll make it up to you.”
“Buy me ice-cream!” the brunet huffed, pretending to be mad at him.
He smiled, they definitely were very similar when they got pouty.  He laughed.  “Sure.  Let’s go get your ice-cream then.  Though, it’s winter, why would you want ice-cream?”
“Do you think I go with the flow of logic, Yusei?” the brunet laughed.
No, he supposed not.
He was happy though.  Happy that he had finally found him.  Happy that he had met the other Judai too.  It really helped him learn about a lot of things he didn’t even know about himself.  It also made him appreciate what he had, not that he wasn’t grateful or appreciative in the first place.  However, he didn’t realise how much he had in his timeline over the past.  Not to mention, it really sorted out his feelings for Judai as well.
“Hurry up or I’ll leave you behind!” he heard the brunet tease.  He was already in a red coat and had earmuffs and a scarf on.  He honestly looked so adorable like that.
“I’m coming!” he called after the brunet as he went to put on his jacket and scarf.
Yes, he wouldn’t trade his life for anything else at this point.
++++++++++++++++++++ Conflicted Waves ++++++++++++++++++++
“Hmm… I quite like this one, but this one also has a really good balance.” The brunette said, trying to decide on which one she should choose.
The raven haired male smiled inwardly, he couldn’t help but admire how cute the brunette looked.  Those heterochromic eyes fixed on the items in front of her, her hair had grown to about mid shoulder length now.  She looked like a girl picking out which dress to have, but it wasn’t a dress she was picking.  They were at the blacksmiths.
“I like the one with the ruby in it, personally.  It suits you.” He replied.
“Oh, look at you giving me suggestions, Captain!~” she teased.  “Well I do like the one with the ruby in it too.”
“Well, let me purchase it.  Go wait outside while I do that, Judai.”
She skipped outside happily.  He had to admit, a smile on her face was definitely something he liked seeing.
“I actually have a request.” The raven haired male said to the craftsman.  “Would you be able to incorporate a rose with the ruby design?”
“Yes, but it would cost you more.”
“That’s fine, when can I come pick it up?”
“Later today.  I know it’s none of my business, but buying the little missy a sword?”
“Don’t underestimate her, she could take you out with one hit if she wanted to.  I’m not even boasting.”
“As long as you know what you’re doing, Sir.”
“Here’s my payment and I’ll be back.  That sword better be stunning.” He replied.
“Don’t worry, it will be my best work.” The man replied.
“You took long paying him.  Short on cash?” the brunette mused when he stepped out.
“No, I asked him to polish the sword so it would look anew when we pick it up.  We’ll be picking it up later on in the day.”
“Ah I see!  Thank you for buying me a sword, Yusei.” The brunette said.
“No problem.  I feel that it’s unfair that you always have to steal a weapon when we get attacked on the ship.”
“Are you sure you’re not buying the sword so I will do you some favours later tonight, Captain?~” the brunette teased.  Yusei could feel himself flushing up inside.  She didn’t have to be so upfront about her question.  Sure, she was teasing, but jeez.
“No, of course not.  Don’t be silly.”
“Are you sure?” she giggled.
“Judai.”
“Fine, fine.  I’ll stop teasing you, Yusei.”
The brunette paced impatiently on the deck.  Yusei had asked her to stay on the ship while he went to get the sword.  He was sure taking a long time…  What if he ran into trouble?
“You seem excited today, Judai.” Crow said as he walked past the pacing brunette.
“Hmmm… Yusei said he was going to be back soon, but he’s lying and now I’m kept waiting.” The brunette pouted.
“I’m not late.” A new voice joined.
“Yusei!~” the brunette chirped, practically bounding over to him like an excited puppy.  Crow couldn’t help but laugh to himself.  He knew what Yusei bought for her, he had discussed it with him beforehand, asking his advice as to whether he should do it or not.
“Here you go, feel free to unwrap the cloth.”
“Why are you acting so secretive?  I’ve already seen what it looks like!” she mused as she took it from him and started to unwrap the cloth.  She gasped, a pleasantly surprised expression on her face.
“Y-Yusei!  I- Thank you!” she cried as she practically threw her arms around him, sword still in hand.
“I felt that it needed something more if it were a sword for you, Judai.”
“Thank you, Yusei.  You have no idea how happy I am right now!” she said, her eyes wide.  She quickly gave him a quick peck on the lips and then skipped off happily with her sword.
“Well, I think you did a good job, Yusei.”
“I’m glad that I was able to please her.  It’s difficult to tell sometimes.”
“You know, I know it’s none of my business, Yusei.  But I think she likes you.”
“Of course she likes me, she’s talking to me and calling me by my name now.”
“No, Yusei.” Crow smirked, it was a kind of knowing smirk.  He gestured to his own lips.  “Now, the question is, do you have the same feelings?” he laughed.
“I’d rather not think about it right now.”
“Yea, I agree.  One step at a time.”
“Well, I better get the crew started on the journey.”
“Okay, see you around, Yusei!”
“Yusei!~  Come practice with me!~” the brunette said as she skipped into his view.
“Maybe tomorrow?  Not really feeling it today.”
“Is it because you’re afraid I might beat you?~” the brunette teased.
“No, of course not.  Don’t be silly.”
“Oh come on!  I’m bored!”
“Go flirt with the crew or something.”
“Did you just say that to me?  Wow, rude!” she pouted.  “Just coz you’re scared to fight me, it doesn’t mean you have to be so mean!” she continued pouting.
“You kno-”
“Of course you two are arguing again.” Said a new voice.  They both turned and saw the blue silver haired male.
“I keep doing this to you, don’t I?” he laughed.
“It’s technically just the second time, I think I’ll let it slide.” The brunette mused.  “Please don’t make it a habit though, I might accidentally stab you in the eye the next time you take me by surprise.”
“You certainly haven’t changed with your stabbing ways.”
“Stabbing ways?” Yusei asked, giving the brunette and the blue silver haired male a questioning look.
“This one is the worst captive I have ever had to kidnap, I don’t recommend it.  Won’t even do it again.” Kiryu said.
“I, um, kinda got a bit stab happy when I was stuck on his ship?” the brunette said sheepishly.
“A bit?  You stabbed me every single time you broke free.  Admittedly, I did deserve it a lot of the times.  Plus, it was a clever way to get to me.”
“Ooo so I get bonus points from you?  Do I get something special?  Like an undead or ghost item?” the brunette chirped.
“No, but I do have some of the ghostly soup you suggested last time.”
“Oh boy!  I have to try some!” she said excitedly.  “Why don’t you two go rekindle your romance while I’m eating my fill?” the brunette teased before hopping over to Kiryu’s ship and running straight for the kitchen.
“She didn’t have to say it like that.” Yusei frowned.  “I’m going to chew her out when she comes back.”
“You’re only doing that coz you don’t want to be honest about it, Yusei.” Laughed Kiryu.  “Still, it’s pretty embarrassing to be called out like that by a sixteen year old.”
Then the mood got a bit tense.
“I still have feelings for you Kiryu.  But I would really like to try with Judai.”
“I can understand that.  I gathered that when we re-met.  Though, honestly, I get you were vengeful, but Jack, really?”
“Hey don’t judge me.  I did it to get this ship back.”
“I’m glad you took it back from him, Yusei.”
“I wasn’t going to let him get away with it.”
“But because I died, you changed into a colder individual.  I feel partly to blame for that.”
“No, it was my fault that I couldn’t see the brighter side of things.  I put Judai through a lot of pain too.” He said.  “I’m trying to make it up to her.”
“I’m happy for you, Yusei.  You know that I’m just a call away anyway.  Call out to me and I will appear wherever you are.”
“Thank you, Kiryu.”
“You know, I don’t mind if you two date and the Captain and I date too, right?” a voice cut in.
They both almost jumped.
“Judai!” the both yelled at her in unison.
“You two are very cute, it was really touching.” She said as she happily carried on having her soup with bread.  She was still sat on Kiryu’s ship.  Guess she thought it would be more convenient like that.
“Judai, stop getting smart with us.”
“Hey, I was trying to be nice.  Plus, it was merely a suggestion.” She mused.
Yusei sighed.  This girl was a headache at times.
“This soup is good, Kiryu!  Would definitely recommend.”
“Well, you certainly looked like you really enjoyed it, but it looked a bit…” Yusei began.
“It’s my fault for that!  I suggested that he should have spooky stuff on his ship to freak out future captives.”
“Stop giving Kiryu strange suggestions.”
“Speaking of strange suggestions… Kiryu!  Can I ride your undead monster?”
“No, absolutely not.  I won’t allow it.” Yusei said quickly.
“I have to agree with Yusei.  No, Judai.”
“You two are no fun!” she pouted before stepping over to Yusei’s ship again.
Kiryu cleared his throat.  “Judai.”
“Gosh darn!  So close!” the brunette said before pulling out a gun from her bosom area, handing it over to Kiryu.  “I left the bullets in there this time, don’t worry.” She mused.
“Judai, give Kiryu back his stuff.”
“I already did!” the brunette protested.
“Hmm, I suppose this is yours then?” he said as he reached into her chest and pulled out a candle.
“Did you just?” the brunette said.  “Yusei!” the brunette pouted.  “You could have asked me to take it out!”
“Yeah, I could have but it was more funny seeing you react the way you did.” The raven haired male mused.
“I can’t believe you did that.” She pouted.
Things were better this way.  This was good.  She hoped that it would stay like this.  As for Jack, they hadn’t seen him in a while.  She wouldn’t be surprised if he showed up trying to capture her again though.  Even if he had felt remorse that day, he was still thick skinned, pompous and spoilt, so there was no doubt that he’d back down that easily.  But on the bright side, they had gained an ally - Kiryu.  Not to mention, their relationship as a whole had improved.  Sure, sometimes they still got into arguments, but they were on first name basis again.  He was also a bit more open about being affectionate towards her now.  He would ask to spend time with her too, which was always nice.  Though, the first time he had asked, she was rather suspicious and wary of him.  With good reason though.
Among the list of things that have changed was that the raven haired male had changed his hiding place for the rum now, much the Crow and Judai’s disappointment.  But they will find it, and when they do, Yusei will be in trouble again.  She couldn’t help wonder how the other Yusei was doing.  Memories with him were now as if they were a dream.  A rather strange, but nice dream.  She hoped that he will find happiness with his future counterpart.  After she had made the wish, she had smashed the mirror since she didn’t want something like this to happen again.  It was wrong anyway, being able to wish for anything but having to give up something really precious, even a life.  They were all really lucky that they all came out unscathed.
She felt someone ruffle her hair, it was Yusei.
“Oh, there was something in your hair, that’s all.” He said as he took his hand away.
Judai shrugged it off as it being true.
“Well, I’ll see you around, Yusei.  I’ll leave you two alone.” Kiryu mused, winking at them both.
“See ya, Kiryu!” the brunette smiled. “Thanks for the soup!”
“No problem.”
“Alright, I’ll see you, Kiryu.”
“Remember, Yusei.  Whenever you need me, call to me.  That goes for you too, Judai.”
“Alright.”
“Bye!” he said before his ship sped away.
Yusei watched the other man sail away.
“Captain, I know that look on your face~  You have ship envy.” She mused.
“I’m not going to lie, I want that ship’s speed.”
“Of course you do.” The brunette mused as she propped herself up to sit on the ledge of the ship.  Yusei moved in and cupped her face with his hand, he stared into her eyes before using his free hand to run his fingers through her hair.  She smiled at him and took the hand that was stroking her hair and held it, then rested her cheek on it.
He stood there enjoying her warmth.
This wasn’t perfect but it was very close to it.  He was thankful, he was happy that everything had turned out the way it did.  He didn’t realise how much he had cared for the brunette or how much he was hurt by her when she started giving him the cold shoulder.  Those mismatched eyes gazed at him, a smile on her face.  He couldn’t help but put his arm around her and pull her closer to him.
“Hey!  Wh-what are you doing?!” the brunette said, surprised by his sudden actions.
“What does it look like, Judai?” he laughed as he carried her.
“Put me down, Yusei!”
“Now, now Judai.  You can’t say that you don’t like being carried.” He teased, pulling her closer.
She sighed and pouted.  “I’m not a toy, you know.”
“I know, you’re a living being.” He replied.
She sighed and frowned, but inwardly she smiled.
This wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough.
