can i also say i appreciate that sean lewis (king spawn’s writer) doesn’t kill off villains very often, which is a real problem that mcfarlane had in the earlier issues LOL

#spawnposting #there are some villains who really deserve the axe like billy kincaid & i think both lewis & mcfarlane recognize that #because that character is never around for long periods of time #but in order to really develop a character & get your readers invested in them you have to like. keep them around #not to mention actually developing them as adversaries to your heroes #that's why vi & wynn worked so well in the og series. because we actually got to know them #& they offered a variety of challenges for al to face & in turn helped develop His character #same goes for malebolgia #there's a reason why i mostly just talk about those three im afraid </3 #in terms of spawn villains #the other antagonists just aren't around long enough typically to get me invested in them #and if they were around a lot their personalities weren't clearly defined enough which sucks because some of them have potential to cool #like the freak / the curse / overkill / etc #at least cygor was redeemed & turned into al's ally
