yes i'm rereading one of the best will-centric fics of all time aka i didn't know there were wizards in california for the fiftieth time and crying like a baby at this part no i am not capable of being normal about it thank u !!!!!!!

How I feel about this character - Fandom and his actor Wyatt Oleff made me fall in love with his character. I remember not giving his character much thought when I was reading the book. It was only after entering fandom and reading all this meta and discussion and headcanons for his character that I truly began to love him. I think he might even be my favourite movie character now (probably heavily influenced by my deep devotion to Wyatt and his wacky ways).

All the people I ship romantically with this character - Literally everyone in the Losers Club (OT7 for the win y’all!!). But I do have favourites that I like to read about. So Richie, Ben, Eddie and Bev.

My non-romantic OTP for this character - Hmmm. Even though I also ship them romantically, I stan the Stozier friendship hardcore. From the first time I read them coming to visit the other kids in The Barrens in the book. I got the sense that these two were best friends with each other, and only good friends with the others. I like to think that their parents are friends and so they’ve been around each other since practically birth. And so even though their personalities are wildly different, they just get each other, they just fit together like two sides of a coin. 

My unpopular opinion about this character - I’m not a fan of his canon wife Patty. Not that I think she was badly written or anything. I just...ship poly-losers too hard and so.... don’t care about her all that much...

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - umm how about him not freakin dying?! How about him making it back to Derry and completing the circle and helping to defeat Pennywise and then him realising that these LOSERS are his soulmates and he loves them so much that he decides to stay and just “be” with them. p.s. I don’t actually mind that he died in the story because i think it was a great plot device and fit with his character and of course i always have fanfiction.... but oh my god can you imagine if he lived?!?!

My unpopular opinion about this character - I don’t think he can play any instruments of has a good singing voice. Richie is one of those characters that I headcanon as having a DEEP PASSION AND LOVE for music.... but absolutely no musical talent. Lucky you don’t need that to be a radio dj. You just need a good knowledge and love for music. Which I totally think Richie has.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - I wish they had shown or developed the Richie/Bev friendship more in the movie. Because it was so sweet and featured in the book.
