update on figuring out entrapta’s hair on a doll.

so far i tried three different approaches:

make a ponytail and wrap it with a wire why it didn’t work: it squizes down the hair underneath it, creating a warped shape 

have hair wrapped around a construction made of stuffed nylon sock with a wire inside why it didn’t work: i suck at it and it looked like a mess

rather than making an uniform ponytail have multiple strands loosely wrapped around wires why it didn’t work: just doesn’t look nice and i’m not sure what to do about wires’ ends 

other issues: pipe cleaners don’t seem to be strong enough to support so much weight and actually don’t provide that much uh, bendability. the side ponytails also slowly collapse under their own weight. perhaps if i attached something that the base of the ponytail could be wrapped around to the doll’s head it could be supported better.

another idea: similarly to the first one make one big ponytail and wrap it with a wire covered with another strand of hair for a more seamless look. maybe slightly twist the base ponytail so it better retains its shape. maybe wrap it around stuffing so it’s bigger. will need rubber bands to hold everything together.
