Sounds too much like a fantasy

To me however

And I believe in God

But not according to man's

standard belief

Even though I'd pray

To get away

Everytime I ever ran from police

Don't judge me

And I won't ever judge you

If you should ever happen to fall

from a place of grace

And land on the streets

And you gotta do what you gotta do

so you and your family can eat...

Because I don't know about you...

But nothing has ever been handed to me

as my sanity runs rampant

And all my thoughts become poisoned

And rancid

until I'm just a hollowed out manikin 

and you can put your ear to my chest

but you

can't hear a beat

And I stand on mine

And would never stand for defeat

But your promises

are like a cancer to me

I call out to God but only you came

Answering me

My commander in chief

The sandman dancing with me

Romancing me to sleep

And it seems the answer is bleak

Growing weaker

Watching the image of me

Disappear in the mirror

Love Is...

It doesn’t do Jesus or the church any favors when Christians pretend to be know-it-alls who don’t practice listening skills, when we can’t sit still, when we’re pushy and loud mouthed and extremely opinionated.

Part of the reason I’m so passionate about reformation and ongoing awakening in the church is because Jesus IS the answer… and yet so many of His followers have less fruit in their lives than the average person on the street, the Buddhist, the Muslim, the eco conscious hippie.

We’ve touted that our way is correct for so many years that we’ve become cocky judgmental and unable to listen and grow. We’ve blended our politics and assumptions about how everyone else should behave exactly like us into mix, while we just shake our heads and tell everyone the world’s going to hell in a hand-basket.

No one wants a spirituality like that. Nobody. Zero people.

Jesus isn’t an angry Western loudmouth who wants us to get back to the good ol’ days.

Father, Son, and Spirit dwell in a peace and bliss, a Glory & Love so rich that when we behold Them we can only ever come like a little child… with zero one-ups on our fellow man… instead with a stillness and awe… humility, forgiveness and love. This is the Jesus way of life…

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” - 1 Corinthians 13:1-2
