Just watched the Ace Attorney 2012 movie and there was. So much
I LIKED THE MOVIE I think it did really well with what it was trying to do with DL-6 and Turnabout Goodbyes. I found some of the changes to that case Strange but I still think they told the story really well, and all the foreshadowing for the case throughout the movie and the way they tied everything together from the beginning (even STARTING the movie with Misty channeling Gregory)…. MVK’s breakdown… yeah that movie fucks.
However I absolutely WILL stay stuck on the changes to Redd White. They didn’t. Need to do that 😭😭😭
ALSO! bro at the very end there’s a Jammin’ Ninja mention AND a Matt Engarde cameo. So extra points for that specifically. Though I have no idea what Matt is on trial for 😭 it’s just kinda funny to me bc it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to be Farewell this is a separate thing. More points for giving Larry more insane character moments but also deducting points for the fact that Maya did not do shit in that movie, and also for the fact that April May was cut out entirely (women losses). Are we understanding my system here

What even is Manfred von Karma?
Okay, so this may seem random, but it’s something that I’ve wondered for a long time. Is it actually feasible to work for 40 years straight, taking only one vacation day in those 40 years?
Now, I realize the rumors about the man being perfection incarnate may be just a little exaggerated, but whenever he’s brought up in a game, all the characters are just blown away by his career record. It happens every time. Not one character says, “Say, that sounds a little too ridiculous to be believed.” Not one. Does this mean it’s actually true, and he never took any days of work off for his first 25 years?
Well, that alone does seem ridiculous, considering how long prosecutors in real life actually work. According to this Chron article, prosecutors in the US spend on average 100 hours per homicide case, for 10-30 hours of overtime weekly. (I couldn’t get a solid average for prosecutors in Japan, but I can imagine a similar period of work.)
The thing is, we never got an official count for how many hours he would usually work every day. (Yeah, why not include weekends too?) After all, if it’s not any more than the usual work hours per week, it’s not too surprising he can handle it. And if Edgeworth’s games indicate anything, a prosecutor of MvK’s level could easily take cases back to back across the span of a few days.
Because this is Ace Attorney, they’re all probably murder cases, and because this is Ace Attorney, MvK could solve a case “perfectly” within several hours. So, even if he got a murder case every day, it might still not be grounds for overtime, needless to say, overwork. While a good amount of time spent during investigations also goes to paperwork and court procedures, heck, he could easily get someone else to do it or zip through the stuff himself. I mean, he usually has one-day trials and the judges rarely question it. He even managed to get away with 40 years without a single evidence forgery charge. Damn.
Buuut, even for Ace Attorney, I doubt there are murder cases every single day. Good God, what kind of city are they running if there are? Naturally, that would lighten his load even more.
So, thinking about it that way, Manfred von Karma actually has a pretty relaxing work schedule. Any schedule is relaxing when people don’t question your decisions, after all.
