You’ll Be Fine (Kai Parker x Reader)

So this was requested by an anon, i’m just gonna say that you didn’t say if it’s angst or fluff so.... sorry babe. Enjoy!

Kai could have sworn you were the sociopath in this “thing” you had, you never talked about yourself, never tried to find out more about him nor ask him random questions and when he “coincidentally” bumped into you in public you acted like you didn’t know him.

At first he was in pure bliss, finding someone that understood the way this hook up thing worked, but one time he saw you out on a date,wearing a beautiful black tight dress-definitely no underwear underneath- throwing your hair over your shoulder and laughing at his jokes, it made his blood boil. He found himself asking you to sleep over, calling you to ask how are you, he didn’t like what he had become, he blamed his brothers epathy and all those emotions that he passed him for this.

He wasn’t the only one that knew about you, Damon once saw you walking out of his place and had heard Kai’s pleads for you to stay the night, it made him laugh and also keep a mental note of this. All it took was Kai’s massive killing for Damon to take action, of course he wanted to kill Kai but also seeing him suffer sounds like so much fun to him.

“What is this about?”

Kai walked in the mystic grill bar after closing hours,Stefan had opened the door for him, they used the excuse of negotiating to lure him in while Damon paid (y/n) a little visit at her workplace and also waited for her when she clocked out.

“Kai”

She whispered, her voice shaking. Damon had his hand wrapped around her neck and the other holding her arms, how foolish of kai to mess with a human, one little snap of his hand and she was gone. He knew she had nothing to do with this but Damon was always an advocate of “an eye for an eye”.

Kai tried to run to her but Stefan pushed him against the wall. (Y/n) started crying, not understanding what all this was about while realizing they were not really humans, no one could have pushed someone with one hand against a fucking brick wall.

“Let her go”

“See I would love to do that but.... I won’t, ohhh i’m so bad”

“She doesn’t know anything about this”

“Oh I know, she also doesn’t know you’ve been going on a killing spree”

“w-what? Kai please tell me what is going on”

“Oh don’t bother Kai, let me explain. Listen sweetie, your little side thing has been going around town killing innocent people-like your pretty little self- because he kind of hates us”

Damon whispered in her ear while his grip tightened around her neck, making it harder to breath and feeling like her time is coming up as the seconds pass.

“Don’t listen to them”

“why not witch boy? Does she even know you are a magical little being? Is she aware that you killed your own brother to gain more power?”

“Kai please tell me he is lying”

She begged, uncontrollable tears running down her face. She was completely innocent, that however did not matter to anyone since she was the only person Kai seems to care for,other than himself. Kai tried to get closer but then Stefan took his arms and held him back

“Let’s make this quick shall we?”

“Kai! Kai! help me! please! let me go”

Damon turned her around and looked straight in the eye, putting a few strands away from her face and placing his hands on her cheeks, while kai struggled to leave Stefans grip.

“Please I didn’t do anything, I won’t say anything to nobody, please just let me go”

“You are scared, don’t be”

“I’m not scared”

He compelled her, Kai always wanted to slip some vervain to her at some point but he couldn’t figure out how to do it nor has he ever been to her place in order for him to put it in her stuff.

“We can talk about this, just don’t hurt her”

“Would you look at that? The registered sociopath cares about someone, oh well”

Stefan was not completely on board with this at the beginning, taking an innocent life just didn’t sit well with him, some things however had to be done. Kai started to panic, it was the first time he was struggling to help someone else, he would have usually asked to do it himself if it was anyone else. Damon smiled at (y/n), even wiped a few tears from her face, before reaching into the side of his pants.

“You are such a pretty girl, it’s too bad I have to do this”

“Do what?”

she asked.Then all Kai could hear was (y/n)’s scream and then the thud of her falling to the ground. Kai was let go and the salvatore brothers let in a blink of an eye. Kai got next to her and Damon had pulled the knife off the wound, making her bleed out instantly, blood was pooling in her mouth and her body was shaking from the pain. Kai lifted your head with his hand and brought her close to him.

“No,no,no,no please (y/n)”

He placed his hand over her wound and then she placed hers over his. He felt water coming out of his eyes, crying! that’s what elena had called it, he was crying, he was...sad

“I’m sorry (y/n),I....I”

He gulped, he felt powerless, vulnerable, defeated. He started stroking her hair and hugged her even tighter. (Y/n) started slipping away, feeling her senses slowly get shut off, her heartbeat getting slower.

“I....I love you (y/n), I love you so much, I should have fucking told you. I’m really sorry....(y/n), (y/n)!”

She was gone, just like that. He had killed so many people, but feeling her lifeless body, hearing her last heart beat, seeing her blood on his clothes destroyed him.

A deafening scream was heard, Kai was so mad at himself, there was nobody else to blame but him, he didn’t protect her, he didn’t keep her away from all of this, because of him the only person that made him feel was now gone. Call it selfish but what hurt him the most was that there is a chance (y/n) died before you heard him confess his feelings.

“Don’t worry baby girl, it’s alright, i’ll take care of this, it’s alright, you’ll be fine, you will be peaceful ok?”

He was blabbering, he was aware that she couldn’t hear him but he felt the need to say those things, most importantly he felt the need to take revenge for this, for her to be peaceful since she was now completely safe, her soul should be paid for in blood.
