I had already answered this one and was planning to just copy it over but I deleted it on accident! so here we are

1. Why did you choose your url?

I wanted something that referenced the natural world or anatomy or evolution in some way and I landed on the one that I thought had the prettiest latin name. I was almost bisynapsids which would have been cool too. I played around with edgy names of bones and stuff before settling on the name for one of my favorite wild animals

2. Any sideblogs? If you have them name them and why you have them

ok I never understood how “sideblogs” worked so I just made an entirely new tumblr when I wanted to focus myself on ba/ccano. I had a really fun time for a few years and the community was wonderful but I ran out of juice last year and haven’t been back. if anyone’s interested it’s @eyes-like-a-gentle-knight (wordy, I know). there was so much good novel content I loved it. still waiting on those last two books narita!

3. How long have you’ve been on tumblr?

hmm almost nine years? but this blog is a freshy and clean 6 months old

4. Do you have a queue tag?

never saw the point? I don’t use a queue and when I do I like to be mysterious

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

obsession with near from death note and also I was into other anime like ouran and [redacted] and [redacted] but death note had me in it’s grip age 15 so when I found this site which had lots of pictures of near from death note I was like :o

I had no idea what I was doing! I just reposted a bunch of screenshots with captions like ouran posts 2/3 or something. no I had to learn the Culture of this site purely by osmosis

6. Why did you choose your icon?

princess mononoke is one of my favorite movies and the image of san in that scene was always so powerful to me. I didn’t mean for a dog theme I swear I’m not even a dog person

7. Why did you choose your header?

I wrote a big post about this when I chose it because I like to talk about every one of my decisions but basically:

it’s got nature in it

looks green for summer

cql but appealing to someone who hasn’t seen it

not an critical moment so I won’t get sick of seeing it

lwj is there which I like but he is barely visible so he’s like secret lwj. but I like that he’s there

8. What’s your post with the most notes?

in my foolish youth I reposted a pic from facebook about tesla that got 100,000+ notes (I think) and got my my first ever rude anon!!!! they just told me not to repost without a source and called me an asshole which as a sensitive 15 year old was very difficult to handle/s. but on here it’s my cql rewatch lb about the atmosphere of ep1. I had a good number of notes on my previous blog for some cql txps but I don’t like to see the notes so I’m glad I’m cut away from them.

however the mdzs/cql fandom has been the only other place I’ve gotten rude anons so. with fame comes tragedy ig/s. they called me a dummy :(

like? 20? I don’t keep track.

uhhh 78. nice and neat. last blog was like 1780 or something but a lot of them were inactive

umm 44? it’s really hard for me to follow people I legitimately feel sick when I do it more than one a week or something. the dash NEEDS to look a certain way and I NEED to get to where I was last time and so I am very very picky about who I follow. also when I break mutuals I feel horrible and guilty so I try not to have too many

12. Have you ever made a shitpost?

idk what this means! unlikely!

13. How often do you use tumblr each day

yeah I also work and I can’t have my phone in the lab so for 17 hrs a day I’m asleep or away which is very good but most of the rest of the time I’m on here...which is fine tbh I like it and I know I have nothing better to do rn. school will start again and I won’t be able to be on here as much :(

14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? Who won?

I feel like usually nobody “wins” these fights. I am bad at articulating my point and I hate confrontation so I usually just block but when I get an anon trying to argue with me I’ll sometimes respond and I feel like I win those? but like, it’s anon. I’m just responding. like someone sending me flack for tagging my hate for bad ship and I gave this long-winded and lbr kind of annoyingly self-righteous response that at the time I felt very pleased with. but it didn’t work bc I kept getting anons trying to convince me or discuss with me why they shipped it and im like idk!!! go away!!!

okay early in the year I got an ask like “how do you feel about wwx being lame in cql” and I got kind of defensive bc I thought they were one of those diehard novel fan but they came back and were like “oh sorry I’m into the donghua and you have a point and this isn’t productive to discuss” so I kind of feel like I won? I mean, it wasn’t really an argument

15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?

If it’s something important then yeah obviously but if it's like “or something bad will happen!!!” no ofc not those are annoying as hell and probably awful if you’re paranoid

I don’t see having a crush on anyone I’ve never really spoken to irl but I do know I have a very many pretty and/or handsome mutuals :)

I’ve had a fever for the past month and absolutely zero energy but here are some AnY headcanon ideas that nobody asked for. enjoy.

Kija

his left arm is the prettiest hand you’ve ever seen like each finger is a masterpice.

he never had acne

he never even gets the little black spots on his nose.

his right hand used to shed all the time when he was growing up

inside his house at the village, he didn’t wear any shoes and feels most comfortable when his feet are bare.

cutting the fingernails of his left arm by himself is impossible so a servant was always doing it for him when he was at the village. Yoon bought him a nail file to keep them nice and short by himself

He can’t use a sword or ay weapon for his life

It takes him a long time to count money when he has to pay for something because he never had to do it

he has a really soft and young-looking face but not without angles. His browbones are pretty prominent too

the first time he got sunburned and his skin started peeling off he freaked out thinking he was fatally ill.

Jaeha

he has the longest fingers out of everyone in the hhb

his back hurts a lot because as a teen he gained his height very suddenly wich caused some issues.

he tans very easily

his knees crack a lot

he generally likes to crack his joints all the time

he has a very particualr smell, because of the fabric his coat is made out of and the leather boots.

he often slips two fingers betweent the folds of his coat to straighten the little ropes of the shirt he wears underneath when nobody is looking

he is sick of seafood because that’s all he ever ate on the ship

he actually has several health problems related to lack of vitamins snce fruit and veggies on a ship are rare.

he’s lactose intolerant

the skin on his face is rough

his eye lashes and eyebrows are actually deep green.

probably the only one who can sing in tune in the hhb

Shinah

He gets sunburned even more than Kija

He never ever feels bored, he can’t even understand what it is like

his nose is short and round and the cutest thing, you just want to touch it

He’s the best at climbing rocks and cliffs.

It makes noise when he’s walking, with his jwellery clancking against each other and his sword moving.

he prefers to sleep curled on his side without a pillow

but he loves blankets and cuddling

he’s not carefull about small injuries so his hands are always bruised or scratched.

he can make some medicine and tools

he can make clothes (but not as good as yoon can)

he can whistle very well and very loudly

he can focus on a particular thing for hours.

he doesn’t know how to read or write and has no idea of politics, social structure or anything bigger than his village. He learned a lot while travelling with the hhb but he’s only been taught what he has asked about or what yoon has deemed necessary to teach him.

he looks lean under his clothing but he’s as well-built as jaehe is, or perhaps even a bit better.

Zeno

he’s got the roundest face his hair is the coarsest and driest hair in the world.

the entire anatomy of his face is that of a young person, as it never matured, so his nose looks slightly larger than it would if the rest of his face had time to develop

he has eternal growing pains

his hands are very soft (like all of his skin)

it itches when his scales dissapear

his eyebrows are a very light colour and are almost invisible against his skin that is just a little bit more naturally tan than the other dragons'

he feels like getting more sleep and eating more than the others, since he's stuck in the growing up phase.

He has secret stashes of stuff all over the place but he's forgotten where most of them are.

he actually knows his way around every place in kouka. you don't need a map if you have zeno.

he tried living as a girl once, for fun, until some guy asked to marry him.

his voice never changed to a deep one.

every several ecades his character traits change a little

Keishuk

because I can’t leave my son out of this now can I

He likes birds. no, actually he only likes birds is the right way to put it. He feeds magpies, sparrows and other birds on his rare times off

He cannot stand uncomfortable or worn cothes.

He hates tea

He also hates meat

he’s broken both his arms as a kid trying to learn to fight, so he eventually gave up on that.

he has like zero muscle. He can barely lift a sword, let alone use it

Despite his appearance and his position, he isn’t wealthy. He cherishes simplicity and his house is an almost barren room.

He has never gotten drunk in his life

he likes poetry and the smell of books and candles.

he cannot understand how a person can feel bad about another person feeling bad. He can’t get what empathy really is because he’s never experienced it.

has crazy af dreams and instists on documenting them with astonishing detail.

Week 2 + HappilyEverAspinwall Wedding

July 29- August 5

Well folks.. the biggest updates this week include

1. Had my first medical school exam and anatomy practical 2. Finally made it to Parker Ranch North in Montana for Alyssa’s (fiance’s younger sister) wedding! 3. United Airlines sucks. 1. As I might have mentioned, I’m currently learning MSK. We just finished up our course on MSK: Superficial Back, so of course, we had an exam. I felt fairly good about it since I had understood the material and had a good foundation of all the concepts. I did well on all practice questions leading up to the exam and felt confident in my anatomy abilities too. What I was not expecting was the amount of radiology clinical questions associated with some clinical correlations discussed in class. If there was one aspect I of the exam I felt unsure about, it’s that one. Some details about exam 1: - It covered MSK topics from Histology, Embryology, Nervous System (spinal cord is apart of the back, remember!), Gross Anatomy, and some Radiology. - It was taken via Examsoft/Examplify on the computer - 65 questions multiple choice, in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Hopefully I did well. I heard that the class of 2021′s raw average on the first MSK exam was 70%,which was curved to an 83%, so we’ll see how well my class did. We get our exams back on Thursday.

How I feel waiting for Thursday to come around:

The anatomy practical went very well, I think. I was able to identify the origins/insertions/actions/innervations for what I was asked. So if anything, that’ll just boost my score. :) 2. After my exams finished on Friday, I went home and packed to catch an evening flight from Denver to Missoula, Montana. My awesome fiance picked me up from the airport and I finally got to see the beauty of Montana... sort of. It was almost 10pm so I couldn’t really see anything outside the window. Haha. But Parker Ranch North (the property his family owns) is absolutely gorgeous. The outside looks like a forest lodge, and the inside looks like an ornate cabin with the most detail-oriented woodwork you’ve ever seen!!! Seriously, the house took my breath away. Alyssa’s wedding was on Saturday. Everything about it was beautiful. Alyssa truly put her entire heart and soul into planning her big day, and I think it’s one of the prettiest weddings I’ve ever been to. The ceremony took place in the trees, with hand crafted log benches, live music, and warmth. Butterflies were fluttering in the trees everywhere, and several would land on programs, the wooden cross at the end of the aisle, and on wedding guests. Joe (the groom) said vows that moved me to tears, and Alyssa was just so perfect in that moment, you couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with joy and love for her and her husband. I’ll post pictures once my phone decides to operate like normal again. :P

3. Lastly, United Airlines is absolutely terrible. Lol. I flew out to Missoula just fine, but coming back to Denver... well, let’s just say I’m still not back in Denver. I had originally booked at 10:25am flight from Missoula to Denver today (8-5-18). We had boarded the plane and were ready to get going when the captain said we couldn’t take off until the maintenance person fixed the airplane’s lavatory. Apparently, the toilet couldn’t flush properly. Then, after waiting for 10 minutes or so, we were de-boarded, and told that United policy would not let us fly on an airplane for 2.5 hours without a working toilet. Are. You. Kidding. Me. If I can hold my bladder for 2.5 hours, so can everyone else. -.-

So, that was a first for me. We were told that the flight would be delayed for about a hour. No big deal, right? But about 20 minutes into waiting, the flight got CANCELLED. Ok. Now I start to panic. It’s Sunday. I have school tomorrow. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow that I can’t reschedule. What am I going to do? I called United Airlines while waiting in line like everyone else to figure out what to do. I was told that the next available flight would be tomorrow (Monday) at 2:25pm. NO. My heart is pounding and I’m furious. I asked if I could stand-by on the later flights that evening, but the attendant said those flights were overbooked so the likelihood of me getting on is low. I reluctantly booked that 2:25pm flight and called Michael (fiance) back to let him know what happened. As I was figuring out what to do, I decided to talk to the attendant at the ticketing desk about my situation, to try and get some compensation. Good thing I did, because she was able to rebook me for a flight to Salt Lake City, Utah, leaving at 1:17pm and arriving at 2:50pm. I would then take a connecting flight at 5:44 and arrive in Denver tonight at 7:15. Hallelujah! I was relieved!! She had worked with Delta airlines to get me on a good flight, and I actually ended up in Business Class, which was just awesome. So much leg room.. ahh!

However, once in Salt Lake, things turned again. I’m currently here waiting at my gate (It’s 4:46pm, flight to Denver initially scheduled in 1 hour) and I get a text message saying it’s delayed.... for another 30 minutes. -.- Seriously?! I just want to get home. -.- I’ve got things to do.. meals to prep... the Buck Book to read before class tomorrow!! UGHHHHH. But I guess all I can do is pray I get there tonight.

Anyway, that’s all really for this week. >< I’m so tired... ^o^ Starting MSK Upper Limb tomorrow! **EDIT: It’s now 4:58pm and I’ve just received a text saying my Denver flight has been pushed back another 45 minutes.... so instead of departing 5:45, I’m departing at 7pm... fml. :( NEVER FLY UNITED!!!!
