After ~11 hours of work and 89 layers, I have finished the first more detailed reference for The Malnetum Chronicles!

I'm not sure why Palik was the one I had the easiest time originally sketching a reference page for. Maybe it's because out of the initial 4 main cast members, he has the most straightforward design. He's a white and pink anthropomorphic cat. That's it.

Happy (...late) New Year from the first The Malnetum Chronicles story, the Imnala-58e29 Cast! I hope to start publishing this first story before the end of 2023, but I'm not setting any concrete time frame as I still have a lot I want to develop beforehand.

(Plus the fact it's the 8th and this was supposed to be a New Year's Day post speaks pretty clearly for my time management skills.)

The Malnetum Chronicles is a webcomic I'm currently in the planning stages for, but the basic idea is that Earth has been deemed a "doomed planet" (Malnetum) but because they never reached the Greater Outerspace on their own, no aid is allowed to be given, essentially leaving all life on Earth to rot.

Imnala-58e29 is the name of the ship So'ma'air (left), Pa'lik (catboy), and Er'es'uh are currently assigned to manning. After a slightly unusual job, it seems like something is loose in the walls of the ship.

Molly (human) is a 5-year-old girl who two months ago found herself snatched away from Earth alongside her mother, but the two were quickly separated. A series of events has led her to now find herself hiding on a new alien ship, which she hopes is friendlier than every other one she's been on so far.

Er'es'uh out on her home planet with her friend Eh'e.

It was fun trying to use what lore I have for Er'es'uh's species, the Mollas, to figure out what the planet and structures would look like. I might change it up by the time it appears in canon, but this is how it looks for now.

In the middle, Vuz'ze'aak the Cuzatee, the Director of Security

Perched on Vuz'ze'aak's head is Ka'zu'ee the Cukataa, the Director of Technology

In the upper left of the photo is Cur'lok the Wagshar, one of the Directors of Culture and Communication

In the upper right there's Maj, the Celka and Keravine mix, she's the Director of Health

Beneath Maj there's Teh'lyr the Heackpa, the other Director of Culture and Communication

And finally, we have Loo'see the Eafall and Nuzzi mix, the Director of Animal Control

#BWeirdOCtober Day 2: New

(Yes I'm a little late, I was in a car for 10 hours yesterday.)

I choose Saw'lee for today because he's one of like, 3 characters from Malnetum who isn't a revamped old design. He's so new he didn't have a name until I drew this last night.
