how does mia feel about all these shenanigans :0? bc if i remember correctly she was kept down there for experiments and it's likely that she interacted with the lords, or at least talked to a few of them, as miranda asked for help with experimenting. or miranda kept her a secret :0?

I’m so glad you’re vibing with the au. I was scared to post about it cause I thought it would be lame 😔. As for Mia in the au, there’s a lot to unpack...

I mean, the other lords knew of Mia but really only Miranda was allowed to interact with her. All they knew was that she was the biological mother to Miranda’s special child. They probably didn’t even know her name. Mia likewise didn’t know them either but she kinda hated everyone and every part in that situation. After I feel like, she’s super hesitant and afraid of them but seeing Ethan be so casual around them, she puts on a face.

Living with her captor and former torturer’s pseudo kids who see your husband as a Father and your child as a sibling/competitor for his affection is also rough. They acknowledge her as the mother but kinda treat her like an outsider/rando. This makes her feel like she’s the only one who sees how fucked up the whole situation is and she can’t get why Ethan is okay with having them around them let alone Rose. However, this leads into an important point about Mia’s character in canon and in this au.

Mia is kinda selfish. Like she has been through a lot, like holy hell girl, she’s been put through the ringer, but so has Ethan and the arguably the lords. In the au the whole “Mia was working for a terrorist organization that used child bio weapons, dragged her husband into it and put him through hell and then refused to tell him that he was a dead mold man and their baby is actually mold” is addressed, cause Ethan is rightfully pissed about it. Mia insists they go back to normal but it was never normal if their whole life together was built off of lies and cover ups. Because of her, Ethan has blood on his hands, he is technically a mold zombie god and their kid is essentially a bio weapon. Like he doesn’t expect better from the crazy lords but he expected a lot more from her. I feel subconsciously, he tolerates the lords more “monstrous” behavior out of spite for Mia and understanding of what the mold hive mind can do to a person’s morals.

Disclaimer: This is no way saying Mia is the worst person in this whole situation but she like is canonically a terrorist and no one like talks about how that is the catalyst to re7 and re8.
