FTF: Universe Level Monster Prom Feats
Calculester was able to create a virtual universe inside a computer, which he has full control over while inside.
The Player Character is canonically capable of turning the game off and on again at will, reducing everything to nothing.
Killing Hope destroys the entire universe, due to the fragment of the True Power that she has inside of her.
Polly apparently just knows how to become one with everyone and everything, which she can teach to Scott and the PC during Monster Roadtrip.
Scott, Polly, and the PC are able to eat a hamburger with literally everything on it. The Everything Burger is described as having "literally everything", including non food items.
The PC is unaffected by a sentient glitch crashing the game and corrupting the code in Monster Roadtrip and is still able to act to solve the problem.
And none of those feats are even counting Zoe. I can't believe I'm saying this but... I think Universe Level Monster Prom cast is actually weirdly consistent.
...Well, so much for Giorno vs Oz. Time to switch to a different JoJo's hax lord~

Locations In Heartland Cause Why Not
Hey, it’s me, ya girl, Jimothy. I’m the original creator of Heartland Academy, a school that exists in the universe of Rockstar Games’ Bully (2006), also known as Canis Canem Edit. This universe is a complete work in progress, and is not canon to the game. This is a simple list of all the map locations and their descriptions. Please enjoy!
Heartland Academy.
Heartland Academy is a prestigious private school that focuses primarily on academics and sports.
It stands on the eastern side of town, connected to thre major parts of the city by a main roadway.
The academy is fenced all around, the front guarded by iron gates and Greek statues depicting Athena.
The campus is decently sized. The boys’ and girls’ dorms are located in the back, close to the football field and greenhouse.
There are smaller separate buildings on the campus, holding the agricultural, JROTC, and art classes.
Summer Circle Park
Sun circle park is a common hangout place amongst the students. It is left of the main road leading to the Academy.
Most notably this is the jock’s hangout.
The park offers a playground, pond, nature trails, and a skate park that is fenced off.
Gold Center
Gold Center is the town nearby, and is located at the center: hence its name.
Gold center consists of cafes, boutiques, restaurants, and other local businesses.
The most popular places are the Buckstar coffee/refreshment shop, the Whiplash bike store, Snips N’ Snails barbershop, and Clique Chic Boutique.
There are two main roads that branch out into separate parts of the map as well.
The Plaza
The plaza is the second most popular hangout of the students.
This is largely due to the mall located in it.
Like Gold Center, it also has shops.
However the Plaza consists of bigger companies rather than small businesses.
This includes designer band stores.
West Gate Mall
West Gate Mall is an extremely popular hangout for the students.
The most common cliques you can find are the preps, jocks, and punks.
At various shops you can obtain retail jobs.
There is a variety of stores located within the mall. Ranging from pricey jewelry and prom dresses to sports merchandise and alternative fashion.
In the center is a large food court with a variety of food options such as pizza, hibachi, pretzels, nachos, and other various fast/junk food items.
Most notably there is a statue in the center depicting Poseidon and horses. You can fish for change in it.
The Vineyard
T this is the preppies hang out.
The country club is of the upmost prestige, and you often have to sneak in.
The club offers a large pool, golf course, and tennis court.
Additionally, they also offer courses for equestrian sports such as cross country, polo, and dressage.
There’s a beautiful vineyard and garden, as well as an extravagant fountain.
You are able to get a job here tending to the courts and equestrian facilities.
There are also golf carts, which you can steal and run people over with if you want.
Heartland Public Library
This is obviously the nerd’s place.
This library is large, two stories total.
There are many hiding spots.
You can get a job as a book organizer.
The outside of the building has statues depicting Athena, much like the academy.
Beside the library is a mini golf course.
The Trailer Park
The trailer park consists of, well, trailer homes.
This is the Punk’s territory. Many of them live here.
Most residents are aggressive, and likely on drugs or under the influence of alcohol.
There is often loud music blasting, as well as incoherent arguing.
There is a tattoo business here, I wouldn’t trust it.
Summer Circle Apartments
The apartments are located within walking distance of Summer Circle Park
Many of the students live here. You can find a select few punks and bullies, as well as nerds.
The bullies have claimed this area as their turf.
There is a pool that you can sneak into.
Grandeur Gables
A gaited wealthy neighborhood.
All of the preps live here. But many others live in the neighborhood as well.
The houses are large an extravagant, and some have their own land attached.
You can occasionally be hired by adults or students to mow lawns and clean rooms of their homes.
You can get yelled at for just breathing in the vicinity of some old rich hag.
Sun Street
Sun street is a local suburban neighborhood.
Nothing much to see other than dog walkers you can interact with. Yes you can pet the dogs.
You can also see students riding bikes and skateboards on the street and sidewalks.
A good majority of students live here.

I haven't been able to get to prom (idk why, my sim asked her boyfriend, but then when prom time came. nothing happened.) but so far here's my thoughts on Sims 4: High School Years.
SocialBunny
SocialBunny was a feature added. Your sim can add their contacts to it, send them messages that can increase/decrease friendship. Your sim can also make posts, and react to their friends' posts. Better social media in the sims is a good idea, but right now it's just annoying. There's constantly notifications, sims will randomly send mean messages which decrease friendship with their contacts (my sims household is rn an older sister and a teen sister, and they randomly send hateful messages to each other out of nowhere). Your sim can gain followers, but I'm not sure what that does if I'm honest. Currently, the timestamp feature in the app isn't working for me, every post and message says 0 minutes.
In one household I was playing with a young adult sim created before the high school years was released, I tried to do SocialBunny with her, and it was constantly buggy, my sim would never have the new post option, she never gained followers, any sim she added would start posting flirty messages/posts about her. I'm not sure what caused this, if it was a general bug that got patched quickly, or if there was some issue being caused by my sim.
In any case, when properly working this means I nearly constantly see the friendship+/friendship- or romance+ icons over my sims head.
Trendi
Trendi is another "app" on your Sims phone. Here you can buy and sell outfits and check current outfit trends. If you then go to ThrifTea, you can browse the racks and make a fashion look (and unlock/buy CAS items that are only available certain times here). Once you make the look you can wear it, try to promote it, and sell it on Trendi. It costs money to make outfits I believe, and I've struggled to sell many outfits as the listing expires and there ends up being no offers. If you try to hype an outfit, that can backfire and lower the hype. Sometimes when my Sim researches trends, it will say a certain style both has high hype and low hype. Currently my Sim has 2 outfits in her inventory I've been unable to sell.
High School
This is the main point of the expansion. Your teen-aged Sims previously would attend high school by just leaving at 8 and returning home at 3. Now, much like jobs introduced in Get To Work, you can follow your Sim to High School, where they have tasks to complete to have a productive school day. Unlock Get To Work jobs, though, there's a lot of timed things at High School.
A high school day consists of a morning free period, 1st class, lunch, and second class. The free time of the morning and lunch your sim gets a few tasks, (Study for Exam, Workout on Workout Machine/Treadmill, Be Friendly with a Classmate, Be Friendly with Faculty). During class time your sim will automatically do the class event like taking notes or an exam (classes can increase your sims skill level slightly in certain skills which is nice).
The issue of course is the bugs and time limits. The school is quite large with lots of empty space, so walking somewhere takes time. When you only have 1.5/2 hours, walking across a large lot can eat away at that. Not to mention how this can happen autonomously. For example, when I told my sim to study for the exam, she grabbed a book from the bookshelf, then walked across the entire school to sit down and study in the principals office, all the while passing countless chairs/benches. Or issues of trying to talk with a sim, and the sims then walking to the opposite end of the school to talk. Or when my sim went to the bathroom, she then automatically went to a sink on the other side of the school to wash her hands. This is annoying and stressful, because as mentioned, events in high school are timed. The walking distance issue is apparent also because your sim will automatically, 30 minutes prior to class, begin walking to class. And in my experience that usually just about makes it to class sometimes depending on location. My sim joined the after-school activity of cheerleading, and was late to her first meeting because when the clock hit 3:30 in the school (the time for the meeting) it took my sim probably a good 20 minutes or so to leave the school.
The only workaround i've found to make shit manageable was to use the cheat command of teleporting, so I can teleport a sim to where they need to go for a task, but that doesn't fix the autonomous pathfinding.
The only benefit I've found to going to school with the sim is the slight (only a few % points) gain to skills during classes. It's easy to become an A student and at that point I felt like there wasn't anything to do.
Puberty
Body hair is now a thing, it's cool ig. But also My teen sim was made fun of and made insecure because she has arm hair and leg hair and now has to shave it to avoid insecurity. Which sure is realistic but as someone who was and still is harassed about body hair, the insecurity/jokes aren't something I'm keen on. But I'm sure some people out there like the realism of things (hell I like mods that add realism to certain things).
Simfluencer
Theres a part time job as a Simfluencer. I had my young adult sim be a simfluencer. I've maxed out the new Entrepreneur skill, but the lifestyle reviews my sim writes are still of poor quality and I'm not sure how to change that. You can at max get $148 a day, because there are 2 hours of work a day, 5 days a week. You don't gain fame from it, so I guess ideally it works for a teen sim to bring in a little money. Overall though it felt like nothing and even after maxing the promotions (there's only 3 levels of the career) I had my sim switch careers.
Misc
There's a boardwalk area in the new world, it has some food stalls, a ferris wheel, a haunted house, and a tunnel of love. It's not it's own lot, though which is annoying, as I think it would be fun to like, idk, have sims have a first date or hang out with their friends there.
Sims will now randomly barge into your house and demand to be BFFs (yes! even when you're an adult!). I think the update also allowed for proposals like this? As in one household a love interest out of nowhere proposed marriage to my sim, and declining ruined the relationship.
If you want the pack, pirate it or something this isn't worth money.

I'm gonna rant about my job a little now please excuse me :)
SO the average rate they want us to hit, and that we have to hit in order to do indirect roles, was raised to 25 items an hour a few months ago. thats about 2.5 minutes per item. Not terrible, but a little unrealistic to hit on the average. Now the list of things we have to do in those 2.5 minutes?
scan and open the package (which range from simple plastic bags to assholes who wrap their entire box in duck tape (don't... don't do this I'm begging you. we only get shitty safety knives they don't trust us with sharp shit)
check the entire item inside and out for any stains, rips, pulled threads, and whatnot (also these can range from a tiny pair of shorts to a giant poofy prom dress)
2b: if the item is only a little linty we have to use a lint roller and fix it up (which honestly I do a lot bc they also get bitchy if we damage to many things out)
fold the item nicely (dresses are the bane of my existence, folding a big dress on a table half its size is hellish) even if the item is damage beyond repair the damn thing better be folder nicely
package it in the right size polybag
slap an LPN on that bitch and scan it
scan the right tote and put it away
I... there is no way the people consistently hitting 25 or above aren't damaging items out that just need like a lint roller or something or not looking things over all the way for damage
Like i can hit 25 on a good day when I'm not stuck with giant dresses that eat up time or other shit but when they also get pissy about us damaging to many things out it sends a pretty mixed message. one of the managers 'jokingly' called me picky bc i was damaging things out that were covered in hair, but when shit gets sent back we also get talked to. idk but if they try and raise that rate again I'm gonna lose it, it was only 20 when I fist started and that was like.. the perfect number
anyways i got in trouble on thursday for taking like 5 minutes on a giant dress so that was fun

A Step-by-Step Blueprint for Starting Your Dropshipping Venture in Australia
Tumblr media
The landscape of e-commerce in Australia is ever-evolving, presenting a multitude of opportunities for entrepreneurial-minded individuals. Among the many business models, dropshipping stands out as an enticing option due to its low barrier to entry and the potential for flexible, remote operations. As you delve into the world of dropshipping in Australia, a step-by-step blueprint for starting your Dropshipping Venture in Australia that will help you navigate the complexities and capitalize on the advantages of this business model.
Understanding the Dropshipping Model Defining Dropshipping Dropshipping is a retail fulfillment method where the seller doesn't keep the products in stock. Instead, when a product is sold, the seller purchases it from a third party and has it shipped directly to the customer. This model eliminates the need for inventory storage and hefty upfront investments, making it an attractive option for budding entrepreneurs.
Market Research and Niche Selection Researching the Australian Market Before diving in, conduct thorough research on the Australian market. Identify trending products, consumer preferences, and potential niches. Factors like seasonality, local interests, and cultural nuances play a pivotal role in your choice of products.
Selecting a Profitable Niche Choose a niche that aligns with your interests and exhibits potential for growth. Explore various categories, such as eco-friendly products, health and wellness, tech accessories, or unique hobby-related items. Your niche selection will significantly impact your business’s success.
Legal and Practical Setup Registering Your Business Set up your business by registering it with the appropriate authorities. Decide on the most suitable business structure, such as a sole trader, partnership, or company. Familiarize yourself with taxation obligations and understand the threshold for Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Establishing Supplier Partnerships Finding Reliable Suppliers The success of your dropshipping business hinges on dependable suppliers. Research and partner with reputable suppliers who offer quality products, competitive prices, and reliable shipping. Platforms like AliExpress, SaleHoo, and Oberlo are popular among drop shippers for sourcing products.
Building Strong Relationships Establish a good rapport with your suppliers. Communicate effectively, understand their terms and conditions, and assess their customer service and return policies. Building a strong relationship will ensure a smoother operation and customer satisfaction.
Creating Your E-Commerce Platform Choosing the Right Platform Select an e-commerce platform that aligns with your business needs and technical abilities. Platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce offer user-friendly interfaces and customizable templates, enabling you to create a professional and easy-to-navigate online store.
Designing a User-Friendly Website Design a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate website. Ensure mobile compatibility as a significant portion of internet traffic in Australia comes from mobile devices. Focus on creating a seamless user experience to enhance customer engagement.
Marketing and Customer Acquisition Crafting a Marketing Strategy Develop a comprehensive marketing plan that encompasses various channels such as social media, content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and paid advertising. Engage with potential customers through compelling content and consider collaborating with influencers in your niche.
Building Brand Awareness Focus on building a brand that resonates with your target audience. Engage in storytelling, foster trust, and maintain consistent branding across all touchpoints. Leveraging social proof and customer testimonials can significantly boost credibility.
Customer Service and Adaptability Prioritizing Customer Satisfaction Offer exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, handling returns efficiently, and maintaining clear communication with customers. A satisfied customer is more likely to return and recommend your business to others.
Adaptability and Continuous Improvement Stay agile and adaptable to market changes. Regularly review performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and tweak strategies to enhance customer experience and overall business performance.
Analyzing and Optimizing Analyzing Performance Metrics Regularly monitor data and performance metrics to gain insights into your business's performance. Understand website traffic patterns, conversion rates, and customer behavior to make informed decisions.
Continuous Optimization Implement changes based on your analysis. Test different strategies, tweak your marketing approach, and optimize your website to improve conversions and overall business efficiency.
Conclusion Embarking on a dropshipping venture in Australia requires a blend of meticulous planning, market awareness, and dedication to customer satisfaction. By following this step-by-step blueprint, entrepreneurs can lay a strong foundation for their dropshipping business, navigating through the challenges while leveraging the myriad opportunities offered by the Australian e-commerce landscape. Success in the world of dropshipping demands ongoing learning, adaptation, and a keen eye for emerging trends. Part 0 - Blind Spots
These aren't "disclaimers" or anything, just stuff that you need to keep in mind as you read along with this blog. Every one of these facts should be appended at the end with, "so if you are not in the situation, you may need to do something different than what we are doing."
I will probably keep adding to this list as I think of more things that might need mentioned here.
We are, unfortunately, USAmericans
We own our home
Our house is always chilly, even in summer
We deliberately picked a house that is in-town (albeit a smallish Appalachian town) so we don't drive far for groceries, the pharmacy, etc
One of the guys has his own bedroom, and the other one shares it with me
We have people living in our home who are 100% on board to help with aftercare stuff, including someone who works from home.
We are all moderately handy with medical/home care stuff, are not squeamish, and are able to do all of those tasks safely and hygienically
We don't have kids. Our pets consist of two adult cats and some fish.
We don't have to travel extensively for consults or for surgery (probably 90-120 mins each way for everything)
Both guys are moderately skilled at sewing, and we own a mid-tier sewing machine. The one guy sewed his own dress for his senior prom, which was a big fluffy 18th century-inspired thing with a crinoline. There's a few things we intend to sew rather than buy, especially a Comfort Pillow since it's basically just a long rectangle. (I suggested somewhere to buy a pattern and got "I don't need a pattern for that, it's a pillow.")
We intend to keep the overwhelming majority of the items we are purchasing even after both surgeries are done (because we will end up having injuries or surgeries we didn't anticipate and most of this stuff is nice for recovering from other issues as well). Some of it may end up being repurposed or converted into something else (see the previous point ), but we intend to sell or give away very little. It's the other reason we're doing this much research.
We already own a shower chair (though we're actively looking for a nicer one), which you should consider getting if you're able to. We also already have a 7" Squatty Potty on each of the toilets in the house already (which you also definitely consider if you don't have one)
We desperately want natural fabrics (cotton, linen, silk) and are willing to pay more to get pajamas and shirts that aren't polyester.
We are not deeply concerned if something is Men's Clothing or Women's Clothing, and that extends to not just brand/size but color, cut, etc.
The guys both have short (ear-length or shorter) hair and intend to keep it at least that short into the future. My goal is to get them haircuts in the week before surgery, and if they want to go even SHORTER for recovery, I will not stop them.
I am going to be washing their hair/helping them wash their hair after surgery and we have a decent-ish spot in the house to do so.
Both guys in question are FOR SURE getting double incision surgery due to the amount of tissue that will need to be removed.
None of us are religious and have a pretty big aversion to Christianity in general (which may not sound relevant, but try looking for literally anything on Pinterest written by someone who isn't a loud and proud evangelical Christian)
And, while we're listing things to keep in mind, I'll just add these here too:
I use top surgery resources specifically for people who are trans pretty much interchangeably with mastectomy resources for cis women. Obviously, if you don't want to hear about cis women having mastectomies (even if they have info I thought was useful and have already been vetted by someone who isn't cis for offputting female-centric content), do not click on them. I will do my absolute best to tag them [#mastectomy resources for cis women] and mention it in the text of the post as well in case tagging fails. The primary thing to keep in mind about mastectomy resources for cis women is that a mastectomy on a cis woman is a MUCH more invasive surgery (often with multiple additional steps depending on how much tissue is being removed, what kind of reconstruction, etc.), so the recovery at roughly every stage is about double the length of top surgery and that's assuming there's no complications. It's nice to see what they needed for their 8-10 week layup with similar restrictions, but I think it would be easy to overbuy if you use them exclusively since you will be actually laid up for a substantially shorter length of time.
I'm currently tagging general surgery resources with [#general surgery resources] and mentioning they are not top surgery specific resources in the text of the post. Although I've read them over before posting them, general surgery resources may and probably will give advice that conflicts with advice a top surgeon (or your top surgeon in particular) would give.
I am currently unsure what surgery goals are for the guys after top surgery, but I'll likely continue to do similar stuff for hysto/whatever else if they decide to do it.
While "top surgery shopping with a goal of having the MOST ethical top surgery recovery" is certainly someone's goal, it's not the goal of our recovery or blog. There's NO ethical consumption under capitalism, and I am trying desperately to maximize my purchasing power. So, I have bought stuff for this blog on Amazon and Sam's Club, and will probably continue to do so if their prices are dramatically better for the items I'm after.

im useless at this writing thing
hello. not to start this on a negative note but I have been meaning to write for soooo long and it's taken me far too long. But honestly, I think it is actually a good sign because I feel like my life is currently fulfilled and I feel pretty consistent at the same time which is honestly the dream. it is something I have been craving for so long and it is so easy to take for granted once it happens but it is so important to reflect and give myself a tap on the back.
So lets take a look at Emily's world currently. I am feeling really happy in the apartment, I want to be home and I make the place look nice, how good is that. it almost feels like the standard now but when I think back and think ruby and I were nearly homeless living out of tote bags at the beginning of 2022, I have come far. and omg I am so much more settled. Ella and Ruby are immaculate house mates, I am so comfortable and having Rory around is nice to have a man living here, also great for bills.
Work. Work is fine. I am learning to accept that I am not going to be in my dream job right now and that is okay. I am moving forward in my career and that is all that matters. I am still learning and getting experience so I cannot complain. I do however feel I want to shift into something slightly different at some point in the future, I want to use my brain more and do more writing because that will definitely fulfil me more. at the moment I feel very operational but it is paying the bills and working in a big advertising agency on a big account like Myer is cool for now. I have definitely noticed the increase in my money with the increased salary so that is always nice.
I have a lover. I finally have a lover. Wow I never thought I would see this day. its even crazy to write this and how much pressure I put on myself to find someone and its one of those things once you have it, you wonder why you worried about it and realise yes it is great but I could also definitely survive without it. and I always will. I think I almost just got obsessed with the idea and obviously the comparing around me as well. but Dan is great, he treats me like an absolute queen, he is a very attractive man and although his jokes aren't always fun, I enjoy his company and the things we do together. It is has been about 2.5 months which is wild because it feels about that but also longer. We have been out for many lovely dinners and drinks, he has taken me surfing down the coast, he came camping to Wilsons Prom with my friends last weekend, I've met his friends as well and it is a sweet little thing we have growing. so I am just trying to enjoy it for now and navigate the idea of dating and learning what I like and don't like and it is fun! We are extremely sexually attracted to each other and we have a lot of sex which is always fun but he still hasn't made me orgasam but we will get there. We have had sex on the beach and in an alley way in Collingwood so hey that is some bucket list items ticked off. Dreams like that are so funny because you want them for so long and then once you get it, it often is not as amazing as you think, which is funny how life is like that because the 'looking forward to something' is more exciting than the event itself. But yeah who knows where things will go with Dan but it is nice to just focus on it for now and not look too far into the future and it will pan out how it is meant to.
Apart from that, I go to Europe in about 2 months which is pretty wild!! It will come around so quickly. Isabel and I have booked a lot of things and it has been pretty cheap which is good and I think we will have a blast so that will be cool!! 5 weeks of travel will be sooo nice.
Tomorrow morning, Ruby and I are going to Pitch festival which is exciting, even though we are a little nervous for a camping big music festival, it will be fun to let off some steam and be young wild and free. And then next weekend Poppy, Amy and Brooke are coming to visit which will be fun!! March has been crazy but hey living in the fast lane is fun. and why bloody not.
So that is all from me but I feel good to have written, never something I regret xx

Motivation -
Jewellery is something with which I believe the wearer can identify and express their personality. It also has the power to recall precious moments and memories. Some people even say that they feel naked without their jewellery! Actors and actresses often remove their jewellery before getting into a character as these personal items carry too much of their own persona. My own memories around jewellery relate to my childhood. I was fascinated with the unusual, delicate pieces my Mother wore which were mainly carefully chosen by my Father. I loved the way she mixed her jewellery which consisted of very contemporary hand-made pieces by artisans. The aesthetic of her unusual, irregular jewellery has grown on me subconsciously and has certainly inspired me in my design.
Jewelry’s durability allows the potential to frequently outlive its original owner, gain sentimental value over successive generations, and influence relationships.

The Dress
So hopefully this will be the last of the catch up posts, and moving forward I may have shorter updates every few days. But to be real I straight up write novels sometimes when unloading my thoughts.
The dress is probably one of the most magical things a bride gets to choose. When I was younger I had a white blanket that I would wrap around myself like a towel, and because I was small the end would drag behind me like a train.
To be honest i hadn’t given my gown too much thought. At prom I had one of those princess type dresses that ballooned out so having that fulfilled I wasn’t sure if I wanted that shape again or if something else would suit me. As per some tips I got online, I had planned to look at 3 stores and purchase my dress sometime in the fall when it was off season and the prices would drop to make room for next season’s dresses.
I didn’t do too much research but as Instagram started to flood my story timeline with wedding ads (curse you voice detection) there was a bridal shop that caught my eye from their sales. I haven’t actually been able to ask my third bridesmaid, Vickie, about her part in the wedding so I asked my MOH Venuya and my other bridesmaid Zul when they may be free to go with me.
Venuya drove with me across the city to the shop and Zul was a little behind because of traffic, so we got started. I let the consultant know that I had *almost* zero expectations and that my intention for the visit was to get an idea of what I might like. She first walked me through the racks of dresses she thought would make sense for my height, and gave me details on the types of fabric and styles.
We singled out a couple to start and I went to the change room to try them on.
The first was a 3/4 sleeve ballgown. The top was very lovely and consisted of lace. It had a full skirt made of Taffeta. It was crazy to see myself in a dress and we all quickly agreed that the full-skirt-ballroom look was probably what I would need to go for. As lovely as the shape and top were, I hated the stiff feeling of the Taffeta
The second gown was strapless. While I didn’t have much expectations one this I knew I didn’t want was strapless. I was advised the straps could be added. I don’t remember the fabric of the skirt but it was nicer, however it did not give off the full effect that the first one gave. and I believe the top had sequins or something of the sort and I just did not like it.
The third dress had a gorgeous top. The patterning was lace with some beading. The skirt was full but it was filled with sparkles so it felt a little tacky/childish for me
This is where Zul came in and it starts to get muddy. I tried one that was between an a-line and a mermaid shape, There was something I liked about the fabric but overall it was a little too plain.
There was another that was a lace up back. I looooove lace up back. I had my prom dress altered to be lace up and it was one thing I thought that I would definitely want on my gown and it did look really good, however the skirt wasn’t full enough.
The other two were not memorable, so I decided to end the consultation there
I told the consultant we were finished and thanked her for helping me get a good idea. She left us to our own devices then and I decided to sift through the dresses on clearance with Zul before we left. I was lazily looking through and Zul pulled out a gorgeous dress. The top had really elegant and elaborate beading, and a full skirt made with Chiffon (I think, will edit later if I’m wrong) overlay. I asked a different associate if I could try it on quickly. I put it on and man, my jaw dropped (there is photographic evidence of this genuine reaction).
She proceeded to tell me that the reason it was being discontinued was due to suppliers not being able to ship those materials over and that it was actually the last one. I’ve had a handful of instances in my lifetime of being told an item I liked is either the last in my size or the last of its kind. Something inside me told me if I didn’t get it I would regret it. It was perfect and because it was on clearance it was half the price of my max budget. So I bought it.
The associate brought over a little bell and asked if I was saying yes to the dress, so I got to ring it and do a little dance before I paid lol. What an experience to get it on the first try.
The only weird/sad part was when trying on one of the dresses, I had a de ja vu moment from a dream I actually remember having. That I had Zul and Venuya there but not my other friend. I remember waking up from the dream and wondering why she wouldn’t have made it, but I never thought it would be because I didn’t feel she had a place there. Weird trip in the matrix. But overall I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

La Jolie MLN - Elmhurst’s Dream Closet
I’ve been asked by more than a few people in my life if I’d rather spend my money on things or experiences. At La Jolie MLN, I don’t have to choose because I get both.
Walking into La Jolie is like walking into what I have always pictured my “dream closet” to look like. La Jolie is the closet of that friend whom everyone looks to for fashion advice and whom everyone wants to borrow clothes from.
The first time I visited the boutique, Daisy, the owner, as well as her staff were getting ready for a Botox event, where Botox and skin care services were offered to customers shopping in the store. Daisy also provided wine, cookies and candy to those participating in the event while they shopped! La Jolie regularly hosts events such as this one. Some events they’ve hosted in the past are themed parties which the boutique promotes on social media. Examples of themes they’ve had in the past are Kentucky Derby and Ugly Sweater around the holidays. These in-store events are just one way that La Jolie leaves a lasting impression on its customers.
This family-owned boutique in Elmhurst, IL radiates charm while promoting fashion that aims to make women feel like their best and most empowered selves. I was impressed that the pieces sold at La Jolie are so consistent with today’s trends, such as ruffles, one-shoulder bodysuits, and puff-sleeved dresses. The boutique was illuminated with fabric in vibrant pastels which are perfect for summer! But La Jolie was not short of basic tanks in neutrals, as well as flare jeans and blazers for a capsule wardrobe. The store also had a variety of choices of sandals and wedges in nude, black and white to pair with any neutral or pastel item in the store!
At the back of the boutique, there is a room sectioned off specifically for formal wear. This is also where the fitting rooms are, accompanied by two adorable chairs where guests can sit comfortably while they wait. This special room has a variety of formal wear to choose from on their racks, such as prom dresses, wedding guest dresses, and even bridesmaid dresses. La Jolie has already started seeing high school customers come in to shop for homecoming dresses for the fall, and it’s only July! Guests can also reserve the store after hours for private groups to shop for formal wear to make their customers’ experience at the boutique more personalized.
My first shopping experience at La Jolie MLN was extremely captivating and enjoyable. Though this was my first time visiting La Jolie, it won’t be my last!
