+ nanami trusts you a lot actually; if he's going to be in a long-term relationship with you, he needs to be able to trust your judgements and decision-making in any trivial or personal matters. i feel like he desires to be able to have open and honest communications with you. it's not because he's extremely insecure either; he tends to be blunt with his actions as we already know.

+ he's the ultimate silent jealous type. his fingers rap against the table quickly. his eye twitches a little. he straightens his posture. he doesn't want to go in guns blazing because you haven't showed any signs of discomfort yet. he keeps yelling at himself to trust you but OH MY GOD he CANNOT STAND the fact that someone else is standing inches away from you. you seemed to be leaning further back, and that was his last straw.

+ a familiar hand settles around your waist. you hadn't realized that your shoulders tensed up for so long until you felt your boyfriend's half embrace around you. the slight panic slowly dispersed when you when you whiffed the addictive scent coming from the figure next to you. nanami grazed his lips lightly against your ear as he asked, 'want me to show you around? just you and me, of course.

+ now the situation has different ways to end up in - either the person he subtly glared at understands the context and backs up before they get questioned, or this person tries to gain your attention once again, which might result in his blood boiling further.

+ he's more than willing to vouch for you if you feel a little insecure at that moment. probably something along the lines of, 'i think we're done here.' i can also see a scenario where he makes sure you're away from the person, and then he puts them in their place. 'i'm letting you off this time. but do anything to my partner and this would not be the last time we'd meet.'

+ but say if you tell the person to back off, his heart is doing loop de loops. he is on the floor. on his knees. melting into a marshmallow as we speak. he's so in love with you.

+ 'were you jealous, 'nami?' 'oh i just happened to catch them messing with you.' try as much as you can and he will never admit it <3

gojo satoru

+ where do i even begin with this man.

+ being with gojo already means dealing with his fame frequently, and having him as your boyfriend is - you can say - pretty challenging. though he ensures you don't have to feel the pressure he undergoes too. he wants you to understand that he did end up being with you for so many reasons.

+ you feel like home to him. sure he's been around, trying to find someone he could date, but to have ended up with you made him feel content. when he's around you, he does not have to put up any kind of facade to make you happy. he doesn't have to use his abilities in front of you, he doesn't feel like he's being used as a weapon either. 'only you've seen the weakest parts of the strongest jujutsu sorcerer,' he has claimed once. having all of that said, this man does NOT shut up about you. he talks about you to anyone he can find. his students 100% have heard so many stories about you already, trust me.

+ gojo is. the cocky (?) kind of jealous. THIS man would go in guns blazing, either bluntly or indirectly, no in between. he executes it perfectly too; so that you wouldn't be annoyed LMAO

+ LITERALLY anyone can make him feel like his guts are churning. when you're cuddling animals and he's praying he could be cuddled the same way too (he loves being small spoon). kids huddle around you and he wishes he could be a kid all over again. his mouth is foaming with envy. gojo is feral. the first time you've seen him spring into action was when this person cannot leave you alone for a goddamn second. they kept trying to grab your hand, which you couldn't tolerate.

+ without any warning, gojo just swoops in between you two, kissing you long and hard. 'ravishing as ever, my love,' he chuckled, pulling away. 'is that my favorite flavor?' he asked, pressing his lips together.

+ 'mm. it is. now, where were we...?' he whips his head to face the person bothering you earlier. he MAKES SURE he has his arms around you before saying, 'should i introduce you to my partner? oh. hate to break it to ya, but they're taken. try again, buddy.'

+ enjoys it if you ever did the same with anyone who's trying to hit on him too. would definitely make out with you after (/▽＼)

ryomen sukuna

+ extremely, aggressively, would kill someone for you type of jealous. sukuna is not afraid to admit that to you, or anyone around him. he finds it fun too - having you all to himself and no one else. the possessiveness and power he holds is undefeatable. yuuji just wonders how did he manage to get you at this point -

+ this type of behavior probably originates from the time where he had a lover, but they were taken away from him too soon. fearing for the worst, he's gonna do everything he can to keep you safe. i feel like despite you reassuring him nothing of that sort would happen, he will continue to do what he knows is right - protecting you. he loves aggressively. that's how he has always seen it. in his dreams he's sitting on his throne, cradling you, keeping you close to his chest. a solemn oath to not let anyone take him away from you.

+ before he had learnt (from you) to trust you more, there was a time where he realized how annoyingly close a sorcerer was to you. surely you didn't plan on cheating on him with someone like that, right?

+ with the rage fueling up within him, he was practically teleporting to where the two of you were standing. seconds before he was about to rip the person's head away from their body, you screamed, grabbing his hand. 'what do you think you're doing?!!'

+ 'what? i'm not gonna let some whiny punk take you. you really think i'm not up to your standards?' he looked over to the person in his clutches. 'you have some nerve, thinking you're better than me.' huffing, you exclaimed, 'sukuna. they meant no harm, and i already told them off. before things here get ugly, let them go NOW.'

+ you think this man felt guilty? no. dropping the person on the ground, he walked up to you. 'they tried to reel you in, didn't they? you really think i'm gonna shut up about that?! what happened to-,'

+ 'god, LISTEN! yes they were. what do you think i told them, sukuna?' your hands landed on his chest, pushing him away. 'oh,' he first said, followed by a longer 'ohhhh'. smirking, he inched closer to you. you could feel his nails digging through your fabric and you could've sworn they left holes (to which he didn't, he just loved holding you tight). 'told 'em i was yours, huh.'

+ '....don't you dare try and chop heads off just because they were trying to ask me out. i'm not that naive,' you looked away. of course this man knows when to make you feel all giddy when you didn't need to. 'you hear me, ryomen sukuna?'

ad (‘child’—but also many other things)

Ad is one of the most prolific roots in Mando’a. Let’s go through a few of the different ways it can be used in Mando’a words, grouped loosely by different senses ad can take. Again, this is not an exhaustive list, but I’ve tried to include large enough a sample to justify my conclusions.

Child

Let’s start with the obvious: the dictionary definition and immediate related senses.

Ad (n.): child, daughter, son

That’s the dictionary definition. A child of any gender.

Adiik (n.): a child aged 3-13

ad, ‘child’ + diminutive. A child before their verd’goten, you can take the years as a rough guideline or species equivalent.

Ik’aad (n.): baby

Ika + ad. Interestingly, I think this is the only word where the diminutive ika acts as the base of a word, rather than as the suffix.

Bu’ad (n.): grandchild

Probably bah-ad (bah dissimilates > bu, similar pattern as in lots of other words).

Person

Rather like English “man”, ad can also mean “a person”.

Ad’ika (n.): little one, son, daughter, of any age - also used informally to adults much like *lads* or *guys*

Ad + ika, a diminutive suffix that is also used affectionately.

Adade (n.): personnel

This is a reduplication of ad + a plural for good measure. Other reduplications seem to be in the singular, so this is kind of a double-collective, like “peoples”.

Adate (n.): people, persons

The singular “person” is probably adat < ad + nominal suffix -at.

Mando’ad (n.): a Mandalorian

Traviss translates this as “son/daughter of Mandalore” (that’s one way Mando’a forms possessives: by smashing together the possessor and the possessed, like “Mandalore’child”), which would give ad the sense of a child in relation to their background, not just a child in age. But if that was the construction, wouldn’t it be *mand’ad? But mando is ‘Mandalorian’ (both as an adjective and as a noun meaning “a Mandalorian person”), so perhaps a better way to translate mando’ad would be “a Mandalorian person”. Either interpretation works for me, though.

Alor’ad (n.), captain

Alor, ‘leader’ + ad. A leader person, a person who leads.

Akaan’ade (n.): army

Akaan, ‘war’ + ad + e (plural suffix)

Ramikad (n.): commando

Probably “raider”. *Ram-, ‘an attack’ > *ramika, “a little attack” i.e. ‘a raid’ > ramikad, “a raider”.

Kyrad (n.): corpse

Kyr, ‘end’ + ad.

Anade (pron.): everyone, everybody

An, ‘all’ + ad + e (plural suffix)

Ashad (pron.): someone else

*ash, ‘other’ + ad.

Tion’ad: who (lit: what person)

Question word tion + ad, ‘person’. That “lit: what person” is word-of-god from Traviss, ‘nuff said.

Patient

Then we have a bunch of nouns that have nothing to do with people. Ad here probably has the sense of “one” or the patient of an action.

Copad (n.), desire

Cop- + ad, “the wanted one”.

*Gaanad (n.): choice

Gaanad isn’t in the canon dictionary, but gaanader is to choose, so gaanad is probably ‘a choice’. Gaan, ‘hand’ + ad, “the hand-picked one” or “the chosen one”.

Jorad (n.): voice

“One who is carried”. Several Mando’a words related to speaking utilise the metaphor “speaking is carrying” or “speaking is carrying the truth”.

Sarad (n.), flower

Probably sar- + ad, “the blooming one”. It’s the only word from this root in the dictionary, but that’s how it would fit the pattern of other words of this type. Therefore I would construct the verb “to flower, to bloom” as sarir, not saradir (not that there’s anything wrong with saradir as a construction, sarir is just a bit simpler and shorter).

Munad (n.): elevation, height

Perhaps “one who is lengthened (~raised, as *mun- is both ‘long’ and ‘tall’)”. Or simply “the tall one”.

Yilad (n.): array

Possibly *yil-, ‘arrange, put in order’ + ad > “the arranged one”.

-ad adjectives

So far, all our words have been nouns. But -ad also appears in two adjectives: janad and jiriad. There’s two ways of reconstructing what’s happened here: either -ad can also function as an adjectival suffix OR these words are originally nouns that have undergone zero-transformation and have been turned into adjectives without a corresponding change in form. There’s a whole bunch of Mando’a adjectives that have miscellaneous nominal suffixes instead of the usual -la or -yc, so I think the latter explanation is something that best explains these random noun-looking adjectives as a whole. However, one could still analyse -ad adjectives as a pattern that could be extended. I like to think the -ad adjectives have the sense of “essential quality”, but that’s just my suggestion.

Janad (a.): spicy

Possibly from *jan-, ‘spice’ (or perhaps ‘herb’, as janad is probably a milder kind of spice compared to heturam or hetikleyc) + ad.

Jiriad (a.): white, chalky, ashen-faced

Possibly from *jiri, either ‘chalk’ or perhaps ‘any chalky, powdery, mealy substance’ + ad. We already have words for white (cin) and ash (rang), so chalk is the sense I’d use for reconstructing this root.

roxanne castle and fernando alonso: the first pair of drivers on the grid to announce a romantic relationship with one another? wait a second. wrong couple.

ohh. you mean the newest and hottest couple on the grid to find themselves racing against one another? yeah, everyone talks about them.

— breaking: f2 second place winner, aella gutierrez set to race for mclaren in the 2023 season alongside alexis mun.

— breaking: logan sargeant, williams junior academy driver, to replace nicolas latifi in the williams for the 2023 season.

they’ve been dating for about 3 years, or so. karting alongside one another and even driving for prema together as teammates in the 2022 championship. it’s adorable, really. it’s obvious when you look at them look at each other; the love they have for each other that consumes them.

aella looks down from her step on the podium, finding logan in the crowd. her smile widens when she spots him, waving at him as she bites down on her lip to contain her tears.

logan, standing right by sebastian, holds his phone up and points it at her proudly. he holds his thumb up at her before craning his neck to get a good look at her.

pictures and videos of that moment will never be able to properly portray the way logan looked and felt for her in the moment. his eyes sparkled as he watched her take the trophy into her hands as she runs away from jupiter nightshade on the top step.

it’s hardly describable. but their friends claim that the sparkle in logan’s eyes when she would speak is the kind you wait for your whole life. and that’s pretty damn romantic.

but, come on. it’s not as magical and enchanting as roxanne and fernando make it out to be. you didn’t really think that fighting it out on the track — with the same goal in mind — is outweighed by something as simple as love, did you?

aella raises her eyebrows, puffing her cheeks as she holds the mic to her lips. she leans on the table slightly and looks past venus to smile at logan. “do we?”

“do we?” logan teases back with a small smile, raising an eyebrow at her. he laughs softly as he scratches the back of his neck. “if you ask me, i don’t think so.”

she hums with a nod. “we’ve been racing against one another for years. getting promoted into f1 shouldn’t make that big of a difference.”

aella gutierrez got one thing right in that rookie presser: their relationship won’t come between how they race each other. for the simple fact that she only ever went wheel to wheel with logan once that year – in their debut race in bahrain. the mclaren was simply too far ahead of the williams for them to see each other often on the track.

— ❝that has got to sting. logan sargeant sees himself retiring from the australian gp. but get this: his girlfriend, aella gutierrez, in the mclaren has just scored her first points in her formula 1 career.❞

— ❝aella gutierrez has climbed her way to the podium here in singapore. sebastian — (yes, sebastian vettel) — must be so proud of her and all she’s achieving as a rookie in the sport. i bet he will be the biggest boost — (he is her race engineer) — to the legacy she will be creating the longer she sticks around.❞

— ❝and that is a mclaren one-two! alexis mun and rookie, aella gutierrez, have managed to fend off the red bull of jupiter nightshade and the mercedes of sonnet pham to stand at the top of the podium here in qatar!❞

— ❝logan sargeant retires from the qatar gp. aella gutierrez is on the track, wheel to wheel with venus nightshade for the second step on tonight’s sweaty podium.❞

— ❝logan sargeant finally scores his first point in formula one here in austin after seeing the disqualifications of mercedes and ferrari drivers: camellia ayudisha and venus nightshade. his long-time girlfriend, in the mclaren, is promoted to the podium alongside sonnet pham and race winner jupiter nightshade.❞

— ❝without a doubt aella gutierrez will be winning rookie of the year. she’s achieved so much and more, and has exceeded everyone’s expectations really. she has out performed her friends in the ferrari and the williams.❞

they’ve managed to make it on every title tabloid over the winter break. it’s an interesting debate: will logan ever be able to catch up to his girlfriend’s achievements? or will she always be one step ahead of him, leaving him in her shadows while the top teams scramble to their feet to sign her at the end of the year?

I don't know what is going on with rpers and not knowing how to rp nowadays. It seems like theres just a huge influx of rpers who are impatient and searching for instant gratification in some way, but I've had this happen to me a few times now and it goes like this: I start a thread with a partner. We begin writing. The intentions and outline of the plot is clear. For example, the setting is canon, taking place in a blank spot between two different events that happened in canon. I mainly play villain muses so my muses are often in some kind of vague or direct conflict with the other muse. As soon as my muse starts 'winning an argument' or getting on top of the power struggle, so to speak, or makes it clear they're not going to go to putty in the other muses hands, suddenly the other mun completely changes the thread and plot to put their muse on top, or to make their muse more appealing to mine with no prior warning or talking about it OOC. And just like that I'm suddenly I'm writing with a canon divergent / AU version of their muse who is something like ALSO a villain or who has done something outside of canon that completely goes against whatever was previously established in the thread, specifically if my muse was talking about it or it was somehow relevant to our muses interaction, thus making my muse look like an idiot and completely throwing the entire interaction off in favour of their muse not being able to take an L or put any effort into actually building our muses relationship and dealing with the conflicts that may arise between them. Like I said, this is happened quite a few times for me in rping now. Folks who play good guy or hero muses are so fucking annoying for this that I'm actually starting to feel weary about starting stuff with them especially if they ship with my muse. Literally, if the only way you can come at a villain being a villain and not being sanitized into licking your muses butt right off the bat is to suddenly derail a thread to make your muse into a villain in a weird attempt to one up the actual villain and/or be more appealing to them, like, why are you playing the muse you're playing in the first place. Also, if you want to ship your heroes with my villains please let me know you want your muse to be an AU where they're a bad guy up front. I would be good for that if you told me up front. I also I love the bad guy x good guy ship aesthetic, I love the powerplays, the obsession, the weird cat and mouse dynamics that turn into something more, and I expect others who wanna write those type of ships to be willing to build those scenes and situations with me instead of randomly changing them half way through because they didn't get instant dick from my muse and they think swapping their muse like this will work as some kind of cheat code into that. I mean its just bad form in general, even outside of these specific circumstances. If you don't like the way a thread is going or you wanna try something different, tell your partner. Don't change your existing thread so drastically half way in with no heads up. You're not pulling out a plot twist, you're just being a pest and showing me you're more interested in pushing my boundaries against "auto-shipping" than working with me to develop something juicy that works for both muses, or you're just a bad rper period.

okay so. this is kind of a vent ive& been meaning to talk about for a while & this isn't directed at any of my moots y'all are fine. ok @ the general majority a.soiaf rpc. take my hand. ok. good. walk w/ me for a sec. gotta have a chat w/ y'all as a native mun.

this is what most of the arctic hemisphere is for white fantasy authors & let's be honest many of the predominantly white asoiaf fandom & rpc: russia, scandinavia & iceland (& of course it's always white scandinavians or northern europeans bc ofc it is & conveniently ignoring the many, MANY indigenous peoples of russia & scandinavia, particularly the sami people who were, y'know, literally always there in norway, sweden, finland & the kola peninsula of russia & are literally Always left out).

this is what the ACTUAL entire arctic hemisphere looks like in reality. that includes not just white european scandinavia but also all of northern russia including siberia which btw russia has MANY indigenous peoples, the sami people of norway, sweden, finland & russia, iceland which has no indigenous population but there are theories supported by genealogy & anthropology studies that indigenous peoples accompanied norsemen vikings to iceland, greenland which has the indigenous population of the greenlandic inuit before danish settlers came, canada which itself has MANY indigenous peoples & alaska which Also has MANY indigenous peoples including the inuit, several first nations communities & alaska natives.

so why is it that Every Single Fucking Blog i& see that has a northern/free folk character - whether canon or an original character - theyre literally Always white european coded, always having blonde hair with blue eyes if it's an original character "skin and hair as white as the snow and eyes as blue as the ice", all that shit. that's a rhetorical question. i& know why. you know why. it's because whiteness is considered the default in our lives & even in our stories & nonwhite arctic peoples or anywhere near the northern hemisphere are considered lesser than, considered an afterthought if even at all. bc y'all would rather have your perfect white instagram model northern characters rather than having diverse characters & actually doing & putting in the fucking work to incorporate nonwhite northern cultures into your fantasy stories despite claiming to be inclusive of everyone. to clarify, there's nothing inherently wrong with having white characters who live in the north but i& need y'all to ask yourselves Why its so overwhelmingly prevalent. bc as an INDIGENOUS mun it makes me& fucking insane.

"b-but a.rcana its in medieval europe!!!!!! :'CCCCC so of course the northerners are european northerners!!!!!" man you wont believe who lives in the arctic europe irl, it ain't white scandinavians, they aren't even indigenous to those lands, it's the sami & the karelians who're the indigenous peoples of arctic scandinavia & the kola peninsula. lmfao. now that's not to say there Aren't ANY people with blonde hair & blue eyes, but it's. really uncommon, even moreso people with red hair and blue eyes, especially historically speaking. the point of this post isn't even saying "there are no pale skinned people in the arctic so dont do that in fantasy", the point is "why are there ONLY white skinned, blue eyed, blonde haired people in fantasy arctic groups when the real arctic consists of so many more ethnic groups than that and why are there so many people just okay with indigenous erasure". the arctic is an extremely diverse place with THOUSANDS of ethnic groups in it & to keep writing & rping your character as all white characters especially if they're blonde is. extremely racist & its throwing aside indigenous folx & asians bc the arctic indigenous peoples look VERY diverse.

above are several different nations ranging from the sámi, to northern asia to indigenous peoples of siberia like the sakha to the tuvan to the chukchi to the nenets to the mongolians to alaska natives to the métis (basically, mixed white, mostly french, english & scottish settlers & indigenous people who're their own distinct indigenous people who, while not from there originally as their homelands are very diverse, historically also travelled up to the northwest territories) & several first nations in the subarctic region like the anishinaabe & cree. hopefully y'all now see what i& mean when there's literally SO MUCH DIVERSITY in the arctic, subarctic & otherwise northern regions in our world with a variety of different skintones from different shades of brown to pale & physical features & hair colors from brown to black to blonde & eye colors to choose from from shades of brown to blue to green. there's SO MANY ideas to choose from & y'all will STILL erase nonwhite peoples.

& that's just the first men in the NORTH (which are the place with the most people who're first men & btw the north is MASSIVE & that's not even including the MANY peoples from beyond the wall so combined they're canonically the largest & oldest of the seven kingdoms), there's technically other families such as house blackwood, house bracken & the now extinct house strong in the riverlands, house dayne, house wyl & house yronwood in dorne, house redfort & house royce in the vale, house westerling in the westerlands, house gardener in the reach, the mountain clans, & the people of crackclaw point claiming descent from the first men groups that could be interpreted as OTHER indigenous groups living in westeros before the andals (aka white european people) invaded & intermarried with the first men & the rhoynar came to dorne & later the valyrians, notably the targaryens, velaryons (who, in house of the dragon, are black) & celtigars (who i personally interpret as east asian, mostly han chinese, due to the yellow god-emperors of yi ti which is ancient china in the paternal line & a valyrian noblewoman who married him but that's besides the point) came to westeros. obviously there's no 1v1 comparison & most people in southern westeros are mixed between the andals & the first men according to grrm but y'all get it.

"but a.rcana!!!! grrm said its loosely inspired by the wars of the roses!!" .... ok and? asoiaf, like our world, still has many different peoples & cultures. using that as an excuse to not include characters of color in your writing in btw a fantasy series? ew. istg y'all will use any excuse to erase or ignore any nonwhite people even in the rpc.

"but a.rcana!!!! there's not very many indigenous fcs!!!" unfortunately that's very true but like. although it's great to have 1 you don't Need a fc do you. use your imagination.

i& can't tell you how angering it is to find that the vast majority of the rpc just. doesn't even entertain the idea of their favorite (yt) stark faves POSSIBLY being indigenous. if there can be black, brown & east asian valyrians there can be indigenous first men. just like the valyrians, there's literally ZERO lore saying that the first men exclusively had pale skin & btw their skintone, just like the native valyrians was literally NEVER described. yall wanna be racist & gatekeep fantasy SOOOOOOOOO fucking bad. please unpack & discard that white supremacist ideology bc science, history & nor fantasy or literally any other genre of literature & television is compatible with it.

Heavenly

Deep within the White Forest, a familiar shiny dusknoir was floating, slowly keeping out of view of any potential humans or pokemon that were clearly trying to catch her. It had been nothing but trees for the last few days. This was a blessing and a curse; it prevented the authorities from finding her, but also there was an utter lack of landmarks to leave or trace her steps.

Until she saw a cobalt blue light radiating from her left. Initially, she assumed the worst. It had to be some ranger group. Instead it was some kind of other worldly mineral.

As she approached, the details of the mineral came into focus. Despite clearly having weight, the construct as a consistency of liquid, causing light to shimmer off.

Inside the construct was a jirachi, far lumpier in the skull than others, having circular folds on the side and red crescent moon tastels.

Eyes opened from the mysterious creature. It was clearly mouthing something that Dela could not hear. The mysterious material had a sound dampening effect.

As if it was on command, the construct lost its mass, seeping into the ground without a trace of moisture.

Once the jirachi’s head was free of the container, the dusknoir could finally hear what it was saying.

Words were not spoken, but sounds were escaping the alien being. Vague facsimile of words, but it was obvious they enabled something if it enabled the mystic mon to exit the strange rock.

As the mystic finally fell silent, it finally landed on the ground with grace. Upon doing so, it opened its eyes, giving full attention to their watcher.

“Ah. A dusknoir. Perfect. A former human at that. Even better.” A very terse, blunt voice came from this entity.

There were several thoughts that were rapid firing in Dela’s mind. What did it matter that she was a dusknoir? How did they know that she was a former human? What was that alien language?

“Sorry. I should explain myself. My name is Apolly. Paradox Archivist under the command of Third Asura-Banya.”

Questions were not going to be stopping soon. That was way too many proper nouns that would likely lead down more bunnery holes.

Good for everyone involved, Apolly also seemed to realize this. “I work for a god to track and notates changes in the universe. Anomalies and sudden changes.”

Now the herald was speaking the dusknoirs language, she was nodding head in understanding. “I get it! So you track down paradoxes and continuity between different universes,” while she was a human, Dela had been writing a thesis on this very topic. If she were still an academic, she would have fainted. “I have so many questions.”

This made the jirachi feel bad. This was a lot to throw at a non-cosmic being. “I know this is a lot but-”

“That means paradoxes are a factor of the universe and are some kind of phenomenon that can be tracked and archived like the weather! This can lead to many other theories! I can potentially solve the God-Head Paradox, solve Atolmos’ inquiry on hypertime and even get several theories thrown out!”

Surprise. Pleasant surprise. That was the emotion that was going through the jirachi’s head. First mortal met since making contact and she was smarter than initially thought. A toothy smile came across the mystic’s face.

“Well you are a pleasant surprise! Someone who is not going to be confused,” the terse talking seemed to break. “If you do not mind, can you be my guide? It will make my job far more lively.”

Floating and talking it was then. This would at least be an interesting partnership.

Three h/cs you've never told anyone:

Rotgut enjoys crossdressing! He's curious to experiment with his own gender sometimes, either that or he just wants to feel pretty in a different look. (It's one of those rare cases where he will shower and clean himself up NOT because he's expecting to get laid lol)

Rotgut has collected a good amount of objects and trinkets during his 800 years of life. From old coins that you'd find displayed in a museum today; to ancient books (diaries or bibles), jewelry and clothes.

Sometimes he will go on for so long being unclean (we're talking decades) that actual fungi will start to grow on his body/clothes, specifically stinkhorn mushrooms.

Three things your character likes doing in their free time:

Sex and reading porn aside (to the surprise of absolutely nobody) Gut enjoys watching soap operas and reading classic tragic romance books. (William Shakespeare would be his favourite author in this case)

Playing with marbles. Always brings a bag with him if he's going on a trip!!

Try new recipes while cooking. He likes to expand/improve his cuisine. Sometimes asks Cornelius for guidance or tips.

Two things your character regrets:

(During moments of self-awareness) he regrets the person he's become now. He knows his behaviour is unlikeable and indecent, because of this ofc most everyone around him hates him or is scared of him- which leads him to not being able to bring his kids out in public (or alternatively, he gives them a bad reputation when they become adults because of who they're related to) because he's scared they might get hurt as a result of people who hate him; he knows it's his fault for this outcome, but he hates everyone around him (that aren't his children) and just refuses to let go. He resents humanity for how much he has been pushed around, mocked and hurt physically in the past for just existing. He doesn't think anyone is worthy of recieving genuine kindness because deep down they're all just as disgusting as he is. This leads to ego and self-importance that makes him feel superior to others because he's not scared of showing just how revolting one can be + he's not human anymore + he's immortal + he can control/speak to hoards of cockroaches.

He also regrets having placed his distaste for humanity so high he's passed it down on his first generation of children. For the most part, this has caused a few of his children to distance themselves from him, like for example Judith and Kolvenik, which hurt him deeply. Kolvenik flat out blames his father and his hatred for humanity as to why he's developed his genetic disorder that has caused him to permanently shed off his human disguise as he got older (which is completely incorrect just to clarify; how Rotgut feels towards mankind has nothing to do with Kolvenik's genetic issue, he just hates and resents his father mostly as a form of projecting his own self-hatred living as a humanoid bug monster that can't have a human form).

Rotgut tries to better himself non-stop when it comes to raising his newest kids, because he wants to see them be happy and make friends and connections, be likeable and be liked by others regardless of what species they are, unlike him. This makes him a bit hypocritical since when he's on his own, he openly goes back to his old ways & antics- with his kids however he just kind of puts on a mask.

Two phobias your character has:

Philophobia -> fear of genuinely falling in love.

Athazagoraphobia -> fear of being forgotten by loved ones/forgetting someone important to him.

Get to know the Mun/Blogger

1. Are you named after anyone? Since I usually go by nicknames, a lot of people called me Artie for short of Artemis. Lance, however . . . was named after a specific character in a specific show. I'm trying to deal with the fact but also make it my own.

2. When was the last time you cried? At the time of making it, it would probably be the morning of, when I was going through the Shadowbringers MSQ and it showed my WoL in a precarious situation. That's my baby boy, I don't want anything to happen to him. . .

3. Do you have kids? I can't even take care of a house plant, and they're resilient! Plus I hate kids-

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? I think it depends on when I'm saying it, probably in a petty sort of way to defend a friend or whatever - but most of how I speak is just genuine joking teasing.

5. What sports do you play/have you played? I played both soccer and track in middle school but I hadn't done anything beyond that. I really enjoy archery and badminton, but when I had those in school, that was really the only way I could do it. Besides a small Summer thing for archery a few years back. I miss it. Not soccer, or track, just archery.

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people? How they treat me. I'm usually a super shy individual and want to make friends and be friendly to everyone. Though I've had many friendships go awry because people become too clingy or expect me to give them the same amount of attention to those I give in my inner circles. We all have inner circles, and I do not treat my friends on a labeling system, but so many are too quick to form some sort of romantic bond with me when I just want friends, or take my kindness for granted. Just be my friend, that's all I want.

7. Scary movies or happy endings? I really like both, but so long as the happy ending isn't a romance because that's not my favorite thing. I mean it can be really cute and fluffy, but there's a lot of overused tropes in romantic movies. I love scary movies, and if scary movies have a happy ending more power to them, but it can easily be the ruiner of the entire film.

8. Any special talents? I can wriggle my nose? And I can kinda sing in several different languages? If you count horrible pronunciation and messing up words as I attempt to sing along.

9. Where were you born? Oregano baby! West coast best coast.

10. What are your hobbies? Writing, gaming, singing, archery, editing - what have you <3

11. Do you have any pets? I used to, growing up on a farm. But now apparently I'm the co-parent of a one eyed cat named Link that has since put every ounce of cat hair all over my clothes. And sleeps with me when it's just me in the house. Does that count?

12. How tall are you? A teeny 5 foot 2 inches. I think - I'm a bean sprout.

13. Fave subject in school? I really liked English and occasionally art but I wasn't ever good at it. Music was really nice too, sometimes PE. Not always. Mostly English or Creative Writing. It was amazing in college <3

14. Dream job? There were a few I wanted to have. Detective, author, something like that. I graduated with a bachelor of science in Psychology and don't want to do anything with it. The subject is amazing, but I honestly am just working to work. Have money so I can live my life. Enjoy my hobbies. I'd love to write and create my stories and characters and get paid to do it, but I doubt that'll happen. Roleplaying is really the only way I can go about achieving that, since I have more muse for created stories than creating my own. I still want to take creative writing classes though.

22. what have you learned by proxy of roleplaying and rp researching?

Oh, god. I don't even have a clue where to start! I'll just write some things down.

Regarding RP researching, I've learned a whole host of mundane or bizarre factoids (or at least points of interest) which have absolutely zero impact on my life and which would bore people into walking away from me with a slow shake of their heads (if I were any kind of social butterfly). Google tells me my most recent searches include Krugarr (the alien sorcerer from GotG 3), a history of the Jedi Explorational Corps, Shakespearean love quotes, how many languages Stephen Strange can speak, and what size of shark can fit in an oval bathtub.

With regards to RPing itself, as an activity? I've learned (/realized) that most of us around here have varying feelings of insecurity and really just want some positive attention, some good vibes in this hellhole timeline we've managed to find ourselves in, and that cooperative writing is a fantastic vehicle for it. Also, it feels good to be able to slip into the skin or mindset of another character for 20 minutes, an hour, a few hours, and live a very different life than the one I lead. The escapism is wonderful... and real life is a bitch to come back to! Probably the lesson I'm still working on absorbing is that there is such a thing as too much escapism and that I need to figure out a proper balance to avoid burnout in any aspect of my life. That's less RP and more just Life In General, but RP figures heavily into my daily activities... so it needs to be part of that mental conversation.

4. Is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with?

Yep, I dare to say that there's more than one xD Mostly Sam and Moriarty.

In Sam's case, it's my fault, because I made them before my hiatus and never given them proper time in the spotlight. I'm planning to change that very soon, once I've recovered some brain power.

As for Jim, I suppose that it's because he isn't an easy muse to interact with, also because of how specific his canon is. I need to work on giving him some verses, both general ones and maybe other fandom AUs, to make him more approachable!

9. why were you drawn to each one of your characters?

Oh boy xD Let's see how I can answer this one without writing a novel xD

Abigail: What got me interested in her first and foremost was the duality of the character. For a good part of her arc we don't know whether or not she had truly helped her Dad killing those girls and, if yes, to what extent. The series unfortunately doesn't analyse it too closely, but she tends to swing between two kinds of behaviours and identities: the traumatised victim who is trying to get her life back together after it has been shuttered and the manipulative accomplice who exploits the circumstances to get away with a clean slate. Useless to say, I like to portray her as the latter wearing the former's mask as an act. Another reason why I chose to pick her as a muse is because she has a lot of potential that however was never used. Gotta make up for that xD

Five: For him there's no big, complicated reason tbh xD He's just the type of character I enjoy, both when consuming medias and while writing. Practical, sarcastic, smart, witty, with poor manners because he couldn't care less about being polite (unless it benefits him). But also characterised by a tragic past, a lot of trauma, flaws that caused his downfall and a fierce attachment to something (in Five's case, his family). It's a lot of fun to explore the different sides of his person and find out where the lines blur!

Sam: They are my OC, so...I basically built them fitting the fictional family you, Chloé and I came up with. In a way, they have Abigail's same duality (victim vs perpetrator), but in this case the second side gets openly cultivated by their new family and I found interesting to explore the effects that such an environment can have on someone who has never truly been taught the difference between right and wrong. Sam grew up as an outcast, unwanted and unrecognised, and the very first time they find acceptance is under a woman who believes that killing men for their own advantage is her family's right. That's a fascinating combination xD Also, as a non-binary mun, I've been wanting to write a non-binary character for a while now!

Crowley: He is one of my oldest muses, one of the firsts I picked up when I started to RP on Tumblr. He used to have his own sideblog and all, before I decided to make this multimuse. I had a lot of fun writing him, also because he embodies the only kind of good guy I can and like to properly write. Someone with good intentions but also questionable methods and even more questionable morals. Also, even if in the book/series isn't shown much, I like to dig into the trauma of his Fall and all the consequences of it, how it has left him torn between what he wants to be and his demonic nature. So yeah, another traumatised gremlin xD

Will Graham: Speaking of trauma, here is another embodiment of it xD What got me fascinated with Will first and foremost is the way the series portrays his "pure empathy": how he can put himself into the killers' shoes, actually live through their fantasies, and how all this constant exposure to this twisted minds end up changing him. That's definitely another thing that drew me to Will. His character arc, evolution and how the potential darkness inside him emerges and takes shape. Obviously, all this happens through a lot of struggles and contrasts. Also, gotta love the sass xD

Will Byers: Together with Sam, he is my traumatised kid x'D He has been my fave character since season 1 (and he stayed vanished for most of the season, so that should tell you how much I liked him since the very start). What pushed me to pick him as a muse have been basically two things: the huge potential for the exploration of trauma / PTSD / sexual identity crisis and his connection with the Mind Flayer. There's just so much that could be done in both directions!

Moriarty: Ngl, I picked up Jim as a muse mostly as a challenge. I want to try my hand at a villain and he has always been one of my faves. Love me a psychopath who also has a ton of charisma and a sense of humour (I find him beyond funny xD). Moreover, ages ago I had come up with a whole backstory for him and this was my chance to do something with it!

Gabriel: Last but not least, he is literally one of the first two muses I had back when I started to RP on this hellsite. He is one of my fave characters from the show, has been even before we found out that he was Gabriel (and I refused to acknowledge the shit they did with him in season 13). He is a bit like Five, character wise, but with the twist of being an insanely powerful being. 𝐢. 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫

when i first saw miss tingyun, i immediately fell in love (mind you those were the times when it was somehow speculated she's an upcoming genshin character). i love her design and as someone who loves the mythos concerning kitsune, i was very much intrigued! little did i know there will be much more to her. i love how she's portrayed as a meek damsel in distress, because it plays so well into my portrayal. she's anything but! yet she paints herself so in front of the stranger, to garner their sympathy perhaps? you can tell she doesn't really trust us for a long while, because she plays along with the facade, often telling us to take care of her. and then she suddenly hints at the other side of her character when she talks about the fruit. at this point many people in the fandom were like "SUS" and. yes. correct, but she's been that from the very start, you just fell for her game.

anyway, this is probably copium, but i strongly believe she's a genius strategist/schemer. considers transactions her battlefield and information her weapon - but when cornered, she will strike back, fangs and all.

as for her design, i absolutely love her color palette. red is considered lucky color in many cultures and her green eyes? quite rare as well. the color combination of red and green speaks to me on several levels but most prominently i see the vivid green snake offering red apple. the forbidden fruit seems to be integral part of her character's imagery and i live for it. also! her cheeks? chubby and cute? not to mention the fact instead of going for the "foxy eye" that would very much fit, the design team went for downturned "cute" look that is further enhanced by the placement of her makeup. just makes me think i am absolutely right with the "presenting cute but being vicious" agenda.

so being the kind of person that absolutely loves exploring romantic sides of character, especially through various different lenses that each partner brings. let me just preface this with saying i see so many potential ships that make me go wild.

general jing yuan however, has to be one of my favorites, especially ever since i've been talking with @riftzenith. i love how they are very different and could complete each other well. also the fact that one is immortal and the other longs for immortality? both hiding their true faces/feelings? but both also terribly good at politics? please.

there is also blade and while i feel like that's another rare ship, my interpretation of tingyun especially could prove to be an interesting counterpart in that relationship.

trailblazers too! but that would certainly need more time, because tingyun started that relationship off with her mask that is difficult to take off. there's so many other ideas i have and especially when other muns come to play! kafka, luocha, sampo, bronya just to name a few!

i can't wait for her and yukong's time on screen! i feel like those two share a very strong mother-daughter relationship that i absolutely dig. yukong is a mentor figure as well and to tingyun she embodies something the foxian has been trying to immitate herself until realizing she needs to pave her own way forward.

aside yukong however, i live for the friendly rivalry i see between her and fu xuan! tingyun has probably been trying for years to wrap the diviner around her finger, but failing so far, because unlike others, she's not as easy to fool!

none. i have nothing. tingyun has done nothing wrong ever in her entire life. but in all seriousness, something that irks me is the constant comparison between yae miko and her just because they have ears? they are similar in ways, but so very different in others. they would also probably hate each other for seeing so much of their flaws in the other lmao. also for those that see her as frail? think again!!!!

i so so so want to see more of the tingyun we got a glimpse of after the deer fight. i want to see her flaws, but i also want to see her bare her claws! i want to see her cornered and fight as a last resort, because that's her trump card! but i also feel like those things are something very few get to see and for it to be on screen means to sort of break that??

i want but also don't want her to be the final boss of the luofu storyline haha - it would mean betrayal, possibly dire consequences, but then again, seeing her true face... oomf

My favorite thing about your muse and your portrayal?

This is just gonna be a positivity ask, 'cause Envy's great, but you made him and are amazing, so you get some love too (as you deserve).

There is so much blood, sweat, and probably tears that went into Envy. I have interacted with you and your OC for years now, and he's still my absolute favorite. Top of the list for damn sure. The backstory, his personality, his weird little behaviors, his appearance – and I still have no idea what the fuck a Saebom is, and that horror aspect of the unknown is solid. I like that there's so much to him that's said in volumes where he doesn't speak much if at all. The quality of attention to what his actions are, his thoughts, and world around him is the only clues you get. What's not to love about a killer with unknown as a cloak, it's like another little layer of Saebom that's afflicted him, and he's just the surface level of that overarching 'what the fuck'. He is always a surprise even when you think you understand or so much as know him, the living curve-ball, and I'm here for that suspense. A literal jack-in-the-box with a knife.

I love what's been going on between our muses, and I'm here for every scenario big and small. I always get excited and check my Tumblr when I see "s-talking has posted XYZ", especially our IM's. I absolutely love those, I always look forward to them – and I know that you don't always respond, that maybe you forgot, or Tumblr was just being a toothpick in the dick and refused to show a notification. Regardless of the aforementioned, I will always have patience and excitement for your response. Be it several hours, days, or weeks. I know that such time management stuff is something that bothers you, but know that I do not mind. I could never mind at all. I'll still be here to support you, so take all the time you need for whatever might be going on. If you at all have a Discord, you are welcome to have my username, if you're comfortable.

in all seriousness, i have quite a few. luckmelvi is obviously a big one for me, but you knew that already; i wasn't expecting them to have the chemistry they did at the start, and while they took me by surprise i don't regret making the suggestion at all. they're honestly one of my favorite ships i've ever written so they get the honor of having a full paragraph.

shiroe/souji and shiroe/krusty of log horizon fame are also up there. raffaello/kanami/leonardo is also up there (i mean, seriously, raffaello is ALMOST the name of a teenage mutant ninja turtle and leonardo is a tmnt superfan, he was meant to join the relationship). same with kanami/leonardo separately and kanami/elias. and then of course there's louis/mycroft, baren/sakichi, roland/vanitas, cahir/regis, shang qinghua/liu qingge, eomer/faramir ... um, anyway the list is actually endless and that's only speaking of my canons. i'm inherently into rarepairs by virtue of them being rarepairs.

Is there anything you would have changed when you started writing now that you have more experience?

i guess there's a lot of things i would have changed. i started without any knowledge of rpc culture and stuff so i was kind of a pushover, i would have told myself back then to have a little bit more of a spine about things that don't really matter. i also would have probably stayed clear of a lot of drama. i really don't mean to cause it, but sometimes i give my opinion where it's not asked for or necessary and it took me a long time to figure out that there are lines you shouldn't cross and stuff.

in terms of my writing, i wouldn't really change anything. i was pretty bad when i started out but nobody just starts out good, and i was 14 anyway.

i actually don't write with ocs overly much so... nooooot currently?

well, that's not ENTIRELY true. actually it was a lot more common in the past. i remember i wrote a character that was so far back in the lore of his source that he was basically an oc, kunwu; because i started plotting between him and my friend's touzannou (a character in a similar situation) he actually took a step onto a plot i didn't expect at first and i was pretty happy about that.

also, playing dnd with you guys influences my dnd-based ocs all the time! yemevon's ideal character progression was just going to be acceptance and contentment until i started seeing more of other characters. i started thinking things like "what if dharlan's energy rubbed off on them over time?" or "what if their eventual friendship with yu makes them break their own rules surrounding death?".

oh, and in regards to dnd oc's i'd be remiss not to mention tempest. he was a completely different character before vel entered the picture, and then suddenly i had restructured my entire backstory around vel. hahahah.
