okay yeah that scene in the tardis at the end of the eaters of light? favourite so far this season. incredible. there is so much within those five minutes i could dissect it forever. how cruel he is to her then — despite letting her in, never letting her close.

their body language here — the way he backs away from her sharply as she reaches out, so hopeful that this is it, that this could be the mending moment, that they could mean everything to one another again. one flicker of hope, that's all there is. it's hard to resist.

the way her face falls, then comes the half-hearted sarcastic quip: she's trying to change but he doesn't see her yet, there's only suspicion for now, the memories and regrets of their past mistakes.
