answering some questions about my oc, fibula, for the @sonic-oc-showdown :]
🌼 - How old are they?
he was 16 when he died and will remain 16 forever!
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
;)
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
chaos energy... although he's always had a soft spot for green apples and will still eat them sometimes just for fun, even though they don't do anything for his undead stomach anymore. same deal with green apple lollipops. he's big on those. and the caramel apple lollipops too!
💼 - What do they do for a living?
i wouldn't really call it "a living" but he DOES work for eggman. since eggman is the one who revived him, he kinda feels like he owes the guy.
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
he REALLY loves to scare people. he gets a kick out of people's terrified reactions to his undead appearance. he goes about it in a really hammy, halloween-haunted-house type of way. in fact, i can imagine him hiding IN a haunted house, pretending to be an animatronic or something, but nope! there goes his head, rolling on the floor...
one of his more mundane hobbies, though, is something he carried over from when he was a live--magic tricks! specifically card tricks, and other relatively simple sleight of hand stuff.
🎯 - What do they do best?
fibula is super strong! he can flip cars with his bare hands. he wasn't always this strong, but being undead has its perks.
🥊 - What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
he likes to cause problems on purpose <3 it's exciting for him to see the pandemonium that ensues. a big part of the reason why he stays with eggman is because it's FUN for him to be a villain.
on the flip side, though, he also loves to take naps. this dude would marry a sunbeam if he could fr.
as for what he hates to do... probably think? haha. but really, to slow down and actually think about stuff agitates him a lot.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
a lot of his time spent alive was pretty bleak. he doesn't look back fondly on most of it. however, any memory with his sister he holds close to his heart. she was his sunshine in an otherwise gray life. sometimes, he wonders what happened to her... but then he forces himself to stop thinking about it.
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
dying. even though he's glad it happened, it still wasn't fun in the moment. he's thankful his zombified body can't feel pain the same way it used to, so he never has to experience agony like that again.
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
horror... and comedy
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
he/him menace, interested in whatever can get his adrenaline pumping the fastest
🙌 - How many siblings does your OC have?
just one, a sister named femur.
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
nonexistent. they're dead.
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
his design + concept! i'm really proud of how it turned out, and i think a pink zombie hog is a really interesting idea that could totally fit into the sonic world with how i've incorporated it via chaos energy. :]
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
hahahaha
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
yes, two. the first one is flowers. and the second one is buses. i also have this thing i like to think about where he's scared of amy, specifically because of her name (rose) LOL
🍩 - Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
shadow t. hedgehog babey!!!
🎓 - How long have you had the OC?
since 2020, so for 3 years :)

Halloween Ends
Tumblr media
This one took a lifetime to complete, as my thoughts were all over the place. But, my thoughts on Halloween Ends 👇🏻
I literally typed up notes the day it came out, and felt too overwhelmed to even finish this until recently (yay, anxiety) 😱
Enjoy!
(Sorry it's lengthy).
____________________________
Where do I start with this one? Halloween Ends was…well, I don’t know what it was. The thing about this movie is that it left you unsure of what you thought in the end. It took time to gather your thoughts. Whether or not that's a good or a bad thing, idk.
After I watched this movie, I remember thinking so many things. One of those is that perhaps maybe this should have been the movie we got in 2018, kickstarting a “reboot series’...considering they were trying something new with this one. I like the idea that perhaps it isn’t Michael who is evil, but rather something in the town. It’s creative and fun. Tacking this idea on at the very end of the series feels gratuitous. Why try something cool and new...only to end it in the same movie? Another way I see it is what if the Laurie/Michael saga wrapped up with Ends (in a different way), and then the next movie followed Cory and Allison similar to how it did in this film? We see the curse of the town live on even without Michael. That may have been the better route to go, honestly. Because they needed the idea of Laurie and Michael being back to even sell audiences on a revival in the first place.
Until the drain pipe thing, which saw a total shift in the story, I was into it. I didn't mind following Cory around and seeing how life was now for both he and Laurie after trauma. I liked seeing the parallels in their lives (with parallels between Cory and Michael as well later in the movie).. I was just thoroughly confused after the shift. Like what even? Michael just stares into his eyes, and suddenly this "thing" is passed onto him? Did they scrap the supernatural aspect of Michael, only to bring it back? I had some Jason Goes To Hell vibes, and idk if that's a good thing.
I believe the marking for this film left us all a little bit disappointed in the final product. We expected an epic showdown between Laurie and Michael and all of the best things the Halloween franchise (can) offer. And we did get that, to some degree. Obviously, there couldn't be a 2 and ½ hour movie of fight scenes without a story arc. And I personally am not sure what else they could have done to end the series satisfyingly. So I like that they tried something interesting and unique with it. It just felt too disconnected from the previous films, and the franchise really. They REALLY zagged with this one. And I don’t think we got the proper ending we deserved.
Now let’s talk about some of the plot points or things that kind of irked me. First, Michael. We’re supposed to fear him and root for Laurie. He should be unkillable with inhuman-like strength and the ability to take damage. He always has been. Even from the beginning. But it was incredibly hard to see Michael as a decrepit, vulnerable old man. How did Michael not seem to deteriorate much at all in 40 years, but then 4 years pass and he's falling apart. I guess an argument can be made that him living off dead rats or whatever in the sewer and not receiving proper health care could make him deteriorate faster...but idk. I don't buy it. C’mon! It’s Michael Myers!
Another thing, Allison saw what evil really is when Michael killed her parents and destroyed Laurie's life for 40+ years. So I have problems with her not seeing it in Cory. Or heck, even just accepting it without even a second thought. I guess it's a way to show that the Strode women are drawn to evil, or it's drawn to them. But I just can't see how she'd not see it or question it even a little. They took a character I kind of liked and made me question everything about her. By the end, Allison became just another dumb Slasher character to me.
The final showdown between Michael and Laurie was the highlight of the movie. As it should be. It felt like old times with these characters; a contained battle, complete with knives and Laurie outsmarting him to gain the upperhand. I take issue with how it all ended for them, though. It felt a bit anticlimactic to me. Michael has been shot, stabbed and burned a gazillion times. But he dies in a shredder? I mean sure, that would definitely kill someone for good. I think my issue was mostly just with how it was shot. The scene with the whole town at the shredder felt way too drawn out to me. I personally would have preferred if they just showed his throat being slashed, then a few seconds or so at the shredder. I’m not super fond of it, but that’s all that was really needed. Otherwise it just comes off too awkwardly for me. But that’s just my personal opinion.
Don’t let everything I have said thus far fool you. I didn’t hate this film at all. In fact, I think I like it more than most. I kept asking myself throughout the movie, "would I like this on its own, if it didn't have anything to do with Michael and Laurie?" And I think the answer is, yes. More or less. Without the connections to the previous films and massive franchise, it would be good. Even the parts of the story that I take issue with, wouldn't happen if I didn't have prior knowledge of the other films. Everyone thinks differently. So things that do or don't work for some, might or might not work for others. Casuals may have enjoyed this movie more than die-hard fans. Because they are more than likely to go to slasher films for the gore and mindless fun and not read too deep into the stories. And let’s be real, most slashers lack solid stories anyways.
All in all, I had fun with Halloween Ends. It’s something that I would watch again, and I'd recommend it to anyone. I’d just suggest they go into it with an open mind. More than anything else I think It’s not a bad film, it probably just has bad placement in the series. The music was great, as always. And the Halloween III font and vibes in the opening were chefs kiss! Actually the inclusion and love for all things Halloween III in the reboot series has been perfect! And hey, did you spot Darcy The Mail Girl in this movie? So cool!
2.5-3/5 Stars.

Book Seventy-Six: The Institute
“Great events turn on small hinges.”
Tumblr media
Another long day of travel (and the subsequent next day off) gave me plenty of time to fly through this banger of a book. I think I’ve mentioned that as I read each book, I keep notes on parallels between other books, Dark Tower references, nods to the state of Wisconsin, lines that crack me up... just assorted odds and ends. One of the first notes I made was, “This book is what Firestarter SHOULD have been!” My final note is, “On second thought, Firestarter is the seed that sprouted this book.”
Tumblr media
I also couldn’t stop thinking about Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro as I was reading. For those that haven’t had the pleasure, go read this book immediately. It has a  lot of the same psychological horror, and bonding among the characters. It’s an excellent, and short book. There’s also a movie that’s equally as haunting. I just watched the trailer again... there’s a lump in my throat. It’s cool. I’m fine.
Tumblr media
The Institute centers around Luke Ellis, a brilliant little boy who can also move pizza pans with his mind when he’s excited. One night, his parents are murdered in their Minnesota home, and Luke is abducted and taken back to The Institute. He wakes up in a room that looks like his...except it isn’t. He’s in rural Maine.
He ventures out of his room, and makes fast friends with the other kids in the Front Half. The kids are subject to all kinds of tests, and receive tokens they can later use for snacks and mini bottles of alcohol from the vending machines. The kids living in The Institute are considered TK (telekenetic) or TP (telepathic); and life is okay on the Front Half. The Back Half is where the last of the powers are sucked out of kids and they reside in a cringy place called Gorky Park. Steve uses the term “gork” a lot in his books. Makes me cringe every damn time.
Luke is a smart kid, and eventually manages to escape The Institute and hide out in a boxcar all the way down to DuPray, South Carolina where he meets Tim Jamieson and tells him his incredible story about The Institute. Tim works for the DuPray police department, and takes Luke in to tell his story.
Meanwhile, The Institute baddies are trying to track Luke down. They have spies all over the country ready to look for any runaways, and sure enough- one in DuPray reports Luke.
There’s an epic showdown, where all the townspeople of DuPray show up with guns, and -one of the greatest characters ever, Orphan Annie, announces- “You’re in the South now!”
After spending almost a week in Florida, I couldn’t help but laugh. In case we didn’t know about the southern setting, Steve also mentions The Waffle House. I’m on day two of a diet reset, and would kill someone for a pecan waffle and Diet Coke.
The kids at The Institute use their collective powers to basically blow the place up, and many of the kids from the Front Half are able to go live with their relatives. I wouldn’t say it’s the happiest ending, but the good guys (and their arsenal of weapons) eventually win in the end.
While this book is different, there are a few key reminders that this is in fact a Steve novel:
The ever-present chambray work shirt
Early on, Tim is staying in a hotel room and Steve writes, “The room’s one picture- an unsettling composition depicting a sailing ship crewed entirely by grinning and possibly homicidal black men- hung crooked. Tim straightened it, but it immediately fell crooked again.” This reminds me of a line early on in The Gunslinger, when Steve writes that Roland is, “...the sort of man who would straighten pictures in strange hotel rooms.”
Jerusalem’s Lot is mentioned
“On the beam” is used
Orphan Annie is compared to a “gunslinger”
Oh! And there’s even a Wisconsin mention! A Wisconsin highway during a blizzard. Y’all... that’s something we have a lot of experience with right now... let me tell you... we’ve had an entire winter’s worth of weather crammed into three weeks. Despite the rodent weatherman’s predictions, we’re really hoping to see spring sometime soon.

Summer / Fall, Year 7: In a Neighboring Kingdom, pt. 1
Dickson and Robin live in the main kingdom, but I usually don’t play them for the full season, just while sims to interact on their lot, but I really need to catch them up.  Dickson is a great-grandfather and his oldest sons are elders and probably older than him at this point.  I don’t mind that too much since he is an evil warlock, but I would like his younger sons to grow up with their peers.  I don’t think this household is in sync with the same seasons as the others, but I played them a few extra days up to the point that Griffin is about to become an adult.
I send Dickson to see if any upkeep is needed at the cemetery.  Graveside Tai Chi seems to be the latest craze.  Meditating and communing with one’s late ancestors?
Tumblr media
Back at home the Merchants (and peasants) Meeting Place has turned into the teen hangout.  I used the visitor controller to greet walkbys and limit the visitors to single sims.
Tumblr media
Princess Willa hits it off with peasant Bennett, who would not usually be a part of her accepted social circle.  These two visited the photobooth three or four times while they were on the lot. :O  (I have been adding Inge’s keys to my sims inventories based on their class, so I could have lots that only certain classes visit, but it’s also kind of fun when the classes mix like this.)
Tumblr media
Robin and Dickson’s younger son, Clark, becomes a teenager.
Tumblr media
And the family welcomes a new baby.  I wasn’t expecting this couple to have any more children, so baby girl Phoebe came as something of a surprise.
Tumblr media
Phoebe reaches toddlerhood before I leave this family.  She inherits her father’s magical powers.
Tumblr media
In the neighboring kingdom, I have been playing my households in sync with the main kingdom, but I didn’t update these households specifically.  Last season, Lakshmi and Venkat’s daughter, Sitara, became a teen mother. The baby girl is named Leela and her father is Leander of the Tavern.
Tumblr media
This season, their youngest son, Ajay, became a teenager.  He inherited his parents’ vampirism, but doesn’t look like it.
I think Lakshmi still rolls wants to have more children, but I changed her settings so she cannot.  Since she’s an immortal vampire, having kids could go on forever.  She has six biological children total.  Her (and Dickson’s) oldest Navin is an elder and a grandfather, so I don’t think she needs to have more children the same age as her great-grandchildren.  I locked her want for 20 grandchildren though.  Right now she has 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  (A couple of the great-grandchildren will be born next season.)
Tumblr media
Evil warlock, Ethan Custer, disrupts business at Claire’s potion shoppe.
Tumblr media
They have a (not-so) epic magic showdown.
Tumblr media
Then Dickson shows up too.
Dickson: Hey guys, what did I miss?
Tumblr media
The family dog, Fifi, passes away.  She has the name Laughlin since she was originally one of Brendan’s dogs.  :(
Tumblr media
The next day the Grim Reaper comes back for Sitara!  I was trying to keep Ajay out of the sun and Sitara, who was pregnant again, starved.  My sims always starve with a plate of food right in front of them.  LIke, if you could just hold out a little longer . . .
Tumblr media
Ajay is the only one home (besides the baby) since all of the adults are at work. He was in the coffin recovering from being outside in the sunlight and couldn’t get to her in time.  :(
Ajay: Ugh!  The light is blinding!
Tumblr media
Don’t look too broken up about your sister’s death or anything . . .
Ajay: Well, Sitara’s dead and I have the house to myself.  What should I do now?
Tumblr media
The genie left a magic lamp at the very corner of the lot earlier in the day.  Ajay rolled a want to make a wish right away and Venkat did after Sitara died.  I have to wait for everyone to come home and for the sun to go down before someone can go out there and wish for her to be revived.
Claire brought a random townie home from work who set her up on a blind date with young Prince Calvin.  Lakshmi comes home and messes around at the mailbox.  Lady, get yourself inside!  I don’t want the Reaper to make another visit to this lot this season.
Tumblr media
At nightfall, Leela ages into a toddler.
Tumblr media
And Venkat uses his wish to bring Sitara back to life.  I mean, what else is he going to wish for?  He’s immortal, permaplat, already has an attraction bonus and is contentedly married to someone he has triple bolts with, and isn’t short on money.  The genie doesn’t have much else to offer.  Lakshmi wants to make a wish too, but I’m not sure what to have her wish for.
Tumblr media
Over at Count Ray’s, Vincent was having a total breakdown over Sitara’s death.  He’s in love with the girl and he’s the father of her unborn child.  He was very glad to see that she was alive and a date together did wonders for his aspiration meter.
Tumblr media
I didn’t play Count Ray’s lot for long since Vincent is due to go to university and Count Ray doesn’t age, so I don’t need to worry about aging him up with everyone else.  I ended up moving Count Ray in with Lakshmi and Venkat, since there’s not much point in playing him on his own.  I also moved Claire in with her daughter Celeste at the end of the season.  I hate to have her leave Lakshmi’s household, but her lifebar is almost totally full and I would rather have her leave her potion shoppe to one of her children or grandchildren.  Zander and Zelda are at university, so if she leaves it to someone in the household (which is what I think always happens, it could go to Celeste or Cassidy or Callum, but I should probably move him to the university apartments.)

This time….what ?
To go on and to go with ,
Dear friend,
You was once a happy go lucky person, I remember the days when you was so carefree. What with the present will always be enjoyed and not to think about the future. Although you are straight forward person and you always plan for the future, it is always blurry to you, you don’t know where life would lead you. you always smiled and went on with life.you accepted anyone and anything that would come your way. However, you fought the toughest battles that anyone could never imagine. You fought with yourself. The battle between your heart and mind was too hard to resist. But in the end, you chose to follow your heart. Even though the situation does not approve of your choice, you still pushed to do it. You were too much in love; yet too much wounded. You never thought that your choice would affect your being. You lost who you were. You became bitter. You were too hard on yourself. You stopped trusting others. Your heart was hard to conquer. You closed too many opportunities, thinking that your life was about to end. You think your heart was too hard to mend.
To the old version of myself, thanks for setting me free. Free from the past. Free from bitterness and pride. Free from worries and doubts. You taught me a lot. I would never be the person I am now if it wasn’t for you. Now the memories of you are my stories to tell. Stories that would remind me how faithful God is. Stories that make me thankful everyday. Stories that defined and shaped me to be a better version of myself.
So be careful my friend aniv!
Its easy to say things from the past and its hard to accept what have done with the past , I always thought of the reviving memory that cannot be refreshed and restart. There are things that once you have broken you cannot fix it ,may the blessing of wisdom and presence of mind overcome my capacity to walk in life in order to realise to struggling situation , may this lapses and errors that I have made be may weapon on day to day life battling with my self , in totally alive freely.
Its hard to believe in magic, but the moment I was reborn into this world, the things reciprocated on how I believed in things. Its hard to believed I was going to become to better person , but ill try my best to overcome things from the past.
In these times it’s important to step away from depending on parents for livelihood and emotional support and depend on each other instead. I may have moved out from my childhood home, but have I really left my parents behind? leaving parents will be a difficult transition, especially in homes where the child-parent bond has been solid and warm. Unfortunately, we should not cut the strings but rather lengthen them or make it longer.
leaving them behind does not mean we permanently withdraw and no longer have a good relationship with them. I am thinking that in order to honor them means that when we leave them, we need to go with respect, love, admiration, and affirmation for their sacrifices and efforts in raising you. But you must make a break from them and serve your dependence on them. it’s important to make the  love and commitment clear to them while also switching primary commitment .
To honor them and also to gather benefits from them can be made by seeking their wisdom on certain issues. But then again this situation was being challenged of our current situation. I tried but didn’t work.
What we have experienced was a sort of manipulating and controlling tactics of my parents. If this situation doesn’t improve, there may need to be a cooling off period where we can focus to think and reflect on our current situation
These showdowns may be intimidating, but boundaries need clarification. We may need to seek out and call on an older mentor for advice before you take action. as a way of clarifying where your primary commitment lies.
It will make it easier to explain choices to them if we have a clear idea of what we are doing and why am I are doing it.
As my parents grow older, they may  maybe need need my assistance. We will take as much time as we can to make decisions, especially those with long term crucial event. Some choices will be very difficult, but in most cases, the health of our relationship must take precedence.
Leaving is not a one-time event. The temptation to reconnect some of the old bonding lines will continue as long as parents are alive. So what now, since they play partly dead to me.
So much to me ,. I m sorry my love the whole of me is hard to carry. `
