The houthis atacked israel Ships because they are antisemitisc plus they are starving yemenis
They might be for Palestine but they are not the Good guys
Israeli ships are being targeted because they are carrying and supplying weapons to Israel.
Which are being used to kill Palestinians.
But also because attacking the ships will encourage other countries to halt trade with Israel.
This actually was a key step in the eventual dismantle of the South African apartheid.
And lest we forget, Israel is an aphartied state.
Aphartied for those that don't know is a policy that is founded on the idea of separating people based on racial or ethnic criteria.
So, racism and thinking your race is more superior than another. Like thinking Israeli's are superior to Palestinians and Arabs in general.
The at the time, Jamaican Cheif Minister Norman Manley during the South African apartheid said:
"The ban on trade with South Africa is logical and proper. And done in respect of a country which denies its own people all the basic human rights. And denies coloured people all over the world every right to human rights intercourse.
Since we cannot send a coloured athlete to South Africa nor even a cricket team with any pretense of dignity. Why should we send our goods?"
I bring up Jamaica because they were one of the first nations to condemn South African apartheid.
They banned trade and travel with South Africa despite still being a British Colony.
Something that in a lot of ways mirrors how Yemen, is one of the first countries to act in direct resistance to Israel.
So no it's not antisemitic, just a tried and true method used to aid in the dismantle aphartied regimes.
But than Pro Israeli's much like the Israeli government see every form of resistance against them, no matter if it's peaceful or violent, as antisemitic and terrorism.
Israel can tell the world it wants to make Gaza into Auschwitz but than be afraid and mad when Palestinians want to be free from the river to the sea.
As for the second part of your ask... What are you 5?
Newsflash, there are no perfect heroes this isn't a movie or a cartoon.
Turkey stands with Palestine, they're sending a case to the International Criminal Court in regards to Israel's genocide of the Palestinians.
Which is great.
Doesn't negate the whole Armenian Genocide and the shit they're doing to Kurdish people.
Britain's over here talking about a ceasefire when they've still got colonies.
They're funding the civil war in Sudan, the atrocities against the Congolese and many many more.
Not to mention shipping weapons to Israel.
All of this doesn't mean they shouldn't be speaking out against Israel.
In fact I'd argue it's a more of a reason for them to speak up, because they have the power too.
Also on the topic of starving Yemen, let's not pretend that the UN didn't drop Yemen from their world food programme.
Seemingly in response to Yemen standing against Israel.
Which means the UN like Israel are inflicting collective punishment. Which is both a war crime and a violation of international law.
Yemen standing up for Palestine is a brave and amazing thing, because they have nothing and are doing everything.
Of course they have their own issues, but that doesn't suddenly make what they're doing to aid Palestinians have any less of an affect.
"They aren't the good guys"
Be fucking for real, every country has blood on its hands.
Some more so than others. And those continuing to cause bloodshed need to be held accountable.
That doesn't change that Palestine deserves to be free. As does Yemen as does every country and people facing oppression.
Isrsel has been actively committing a genocide for 75 years, they need to be stopped.
That's an indisputable fact.

NGL y'all, it's been rough.
On the surface, I guess you could say I'm doing alright. I have a roof over my head, adequate food to eat (most of the time), good friends and family to rely on... But when I say this world has beaten me down to pieces, it definitely has.
COVID was the first chink in the armor. Watching the entire world basically shrug off mass death and try to blithely live like it's still 2019 despite a pandemic raging worse than ever with less protections than we had before is wild. Don't matter how much facts you have to show to people, they will ignore it and then also in the same breath wonder why everyone's sick all the time. I mourn the children who aren't protected, who are sent into schools with no masks to become disabled/chronically ill for the rest of their lives. I mourn the immunocompromised who are trapped indefinitely in their homes because the world has moved on from pretending to care about COVID. It's been 4 years. Time doesn't even feel real. Then October 7th happened, and I get to watch a genocide happen in occupied Palestine in real time. Now, if you don't know me, then you may not know that I generally avoid rated R live action movies because I am a wuss and can't take the explicit violence and gore in a lot of them. I went from that, to watching lives of Palestinians recording their loved ones blown up, carrying their remains in plastic bags, IDF psychos shooting women and children in the back, the despair and anguish of Palestinians being corralled, starved, poisoned just because they exist. I have irrevocably been changed by bearing witness to this horror. Writing my script for my game has slowed down to a crawl. I close my eyes at night to sleep, and dream about the devastation I witnessed. I wake up and see even worse horrors, all unchecked by world powers. I get on Facebook and see people carrying on with life as if nothing is happening at all. I don't... I feel like I'm looking at society from the opposite side of a glass window. Everything has lost its color. How can I care about movies, video games, traveling, etc when it all just serves as a distraction to the ugly reality that cannot be ignored? I don't care about celebs and their drama. I don't care about the regurgitated mess Hollywood puts out. I don't care about what overpriced AAA game is highly anticipated. I do not care at all. The climate is fucked up and I see venture capitalists literally selling pieces of iceburgs to rich folks in the UAE for cocktails like it's nothing. People wanna talk about what new restaurant opened up and all I can think of is the fact that a singular bell pepper is like $2. A musical artist announces a tour and all I see are more superspreader events where people won't mask then bring home viruses to their families. Is this the future we want? Hell, will we HAVE a future? We, collectively, will rue the day we sat around and did nothing to stop all of this. And I fear that day will come very soon.

twitter is doing so much better at being anti war than you guys
seeing a whole load of fuck all from the pro Palestinian crowd, so i'm gonna take initiative and be loud about it.
Palestine should be free. Palestinians deserve their land back. The amount of dead bodies of men, women, children alone I've witnessed over the last couple months doesn't even cover the horrors that the people there, in Palestine, right now have endured.
I saw a girl's guts for the first time the other day, online, in my feed on twitter. She bled out some sixty minutes after her father evacuated her and tried to get her treatment, and they had to take an entire photograph of her body to prove that Palestine was in fact getting bombed, and she was hit by the shrapnel.
Children crushed by rubble, civilians pushed into areas deemed safe by Israel, then bombed the shit out of. Entire bloodlines being lost because repeating airstrikes raining down ordinance upon completely civilian zones. Local and international reporters stalked, threatened, and gunned down one by one for reporting in Palestine about Israel's crimes.
Israel's offense force treats the situation like a joke. They generate fake footage through artificial intelligence and hardly proof them, they're full of faults but insist they're 100% real. But the real footage is even worse- from photos of soldiers getting engaged in front of a school they just bombed to the poorest 'evidence' of delivering supplies to refugees I've ever seen, it's like the pity party has ended and their cult of personality renders them completely immune to consequence for their actions.
It is absolutely fucking pitiful to see, especially when they go as far to plan cities over the razed city of Gaza that they peppered with white phosphorous, to ensure that nobody could cultivate the land within this century.
The West, especially America, will treat Palestine as if it was an unstoppable tragedy they had no part in. They will try to turn the blame onto everyone but themselves and Israel. But how the hell do we, the overworked, underpaid new generations of citizens, get an upper hand in making these atrocities known to mainstream media? Better yet, how do we stop the USA from being able to fund Israel's murder spree?
Boycott, be loud, be supportive.
Boycott companies that give margins of profits to Israel. I.E., Puma, Hyundai, Too-Faced Cosmetics, McDonalds, STARBUCKS, and much more. Shop local, shop small, and be conscious about where you are putting your money, because it could just be on the back of an Israeli rocket going straight to a hospital.
Be loud about your support. Share propaganda debunks, use your platforms to educate followers on what Israel is trying to accomplish and what is really at stake here. Your blog aesthetic doesn't matter when there are lives on the line. They can't ban us all, and there are more of us than them. If you can? Go to protests and sitdowns. Do what you can to be pro-Palestinian- I understand if the last isn't possible, I can't do it too.
Be supportive of local pro-Palestinian brands, boycott days, and communities. Fight for what is right, and remember the people we have lost and those that can still be saved. Supply esims to Palestinians so they can use their voices, too. Hell, even just find out how to draw a keffiyeh and implement it somehow.
Anyway tumblr, you've lost that loudness you used to have. Start being proactive or something, ditch the consumership obsession and get back to your roots for a change.

Seeing a lot of my friends posting Instagram Infographics about the Israel-Palestine conflict, which is to be expected, but today, I saw a tonne of them reposting the exact same one which included the incredible statement that “so many people including progressives and leftist are learning meaningfully about Palestine for the first time” and I just
What happened before? There wasn’t any information then? There wasn’t any conflict before? It’s just infuriating seeing people treat this like a football team, where you support a side and just post picture after picture, statement after statement, without needing to worry about anything that happens in the region bc it likely wouldn’t have affected you.
Back when they had that whole dust up over evicting squatters from a home someone bought before WW1 a couple years back I expected more people to look into this stuff, suppose the fact that even if the place were still under the ownership of the Ottoman Empire the people would have been evicted shifted things.
One of my favs is the "map" everyone pulls out, which on the surface looks bad until you start looking at the dates where everything changes and realize that most if not all of the increases in the land size for the current state of Israel happened because one of their neighbors with the aid of the palestenians decided to try and invade and while I'm not a history major or anything I'm fairly sure that that's how borders happen, there's a war and territory is sometimes included in the spoils of war.
Right or wrong is irrelevant, it's just how it is, or at least always has been, look at Tibet it's recognized as part of china. They annexed it had a little war and won so now it's part of china.
Was Russia always as big as it is or were there expansionist wars?
Whole apartheid thing is weird too, place has equal rights for all citizens, resident aliens don't do so bad either, not equal responsibility though in a similar vein to men in the US only Jewish residents are required to serve a mandatory term in the military, I think, Arabs are exempt I know that much.
It's all insane, and I hate it, wish people would be honest. Israel is far from perfect but seriously some of the complaints,
with current news and accusations, let's remember this gem which was buried oddly never had to dig for this one before time to bookmark I guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part is new information to me, doesn't make the whole thing any less batshit other than someone that hates Jews quoting Jewish research, I'd the nut bag must be getting the Eduard Bloch treatment, but Bloch wasn't an academic he was a healer, also Bloch wasn't an idiot.
Tumblr media
Wild.
let's end with this one check the date
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh look down at the bottom is it a ray of hope
Tumblr media
I'm good with legitimate fair criticism of people and countries and faiths and traditions and all that stuff.
Key word is fair
Fucking amnesty international can go and inspect and tell Ukraine that using schools to house munitions or soldiers or stage operations from is bad because it makes them a legitimate military target.
One for brits now, cuz cuntbin
Tumblr media
If the accusations of white phosphorous are found to be true, I hope the people involve are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, if a civilian in intentionally murdered I hope the person responsible is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, if a rape is committed I hope the rapist is not only prosecuted but also castrated, if any one causes a noncombatant to be killed through their own actions I hope they are prosecuted, if any war crimes are committed I hope the perpetrators are held fully responsible.
You will notice I did not indicate a side on this, that's because if something is bad when one side does it, it is just as bad when the other does it.
But ya it's fairly obvious people haven't been paying attention and a lot of them are just picking a side now without any background perspective, there's legitimate gripes against Israel, they don't justify what happened though.
war crimes don't justify war crimes, I hope all of the guilty are punished

hot take I think the fact that jewish indigenity got brought up in i/p is stupid because it doesn't change anything to me. the fikud party still fucks over palestine, doesn't make it OK just because israel was there first. and even if israelis WEREN'T indigenous it'd be bad to force them out and for hamas to bomb and rape them. did people just bring it up to force some dumb american narrative on i/p?
yeah, pretty much. western leftists have a grossly ignorant habit of trying to cram the world into america so they don’t have to think about things that make them uncomfortable due to their narrow world view. so, every single international conflict is just boiled down to american concepts and terms that don’t actually fit the situation, just makes it easier for westerners to understand. and I’m saying that as a westerner. these people can’t conceptualize the european view of race and how bigotry there operates differently there and around the world bc all they can do is think in western terms. it grates on my nerves so much.

i'd like to give my two cents about this whole messed situation so please forgive me for my longass rant - i'm the first person that's disappointed with this single - bc of who it involves, but also because it's not an artistic direction that i'm liking (mediocre pop music, remixes, radioplay just for money and western validation)
i'm very aware skz are grownass adults who at least have an idea of what's going on in palestine, but despite that, and assuming the fact that they are not zionists and actually care about palestine at least a bit, tbh i don't think that even if they wanted to they could say something - i mean jype literally have forbidden chan to go live for a year bc of some twitter drama, and now felix hasn't done a live in over month since he apologized for showing coca cola and in the end they're kinda forced to tell stays to listen to the song cause that's literally part of their job
and sure they are probably genuinely happy with the collab, but that doesn't mean they agree with personal/political ideas of the artists they like or collaborating with, or that they do not care about palestine, or that they don't want to say something - there's still a legal contract and as much as skz are not slaves, they are definitely not free to say or do whatever they want and if chan can't get a tattoo why could he speak out about politics? (yes, genocide and settler colonialism shouldn't be politics but in our world they sadly are or they wouldn't exist in the first place)
i mean i've seen people saying that on instagram skz are free to post what they want but i honestly think that's not completely true bc no celebrity in the world is free to post or say whatever they want, celebrities literally have professionals to help them with their image (and even the ones who speak about political things they still have professionals behind them monitoring the situation) and with how they appear to the general public, so while for most stuff yes it's probably is a genuine act from skz, social medias and what the kids say can be forced and used as "distraction" or to "downplay" (we've seen multiple times the kids going live in the exact moment the fans were trending on twitter bc were disappointed and angry at the company's action)
we've seen how jype do not care about the kids health and reputation (they overwork skz, they did nothing when "fans" were threatening to show up at fansigns to literally harm the members or when trucks with insults were placed in front of the company) and especially how they only care about the money so i seriously think that since that company is seeing how most fans are streaming the song and how this song was literally only made for the usa and at the same time jype is seeing how a lot of fans are definitely not happy with this shit they're trying to to make seem skz are on the board with the song (whether they actually are or not), from posting selfies to saying positive stuff about the collab - that's literally marketing and for the company in this situation it's the best solution to keep earning the cash while trying to change fans' opinions who do not agree with this
i'm not trying to make any excuses for anyone here bc skz are not some children or hermits who do not have internet access to at least stays telling them to do better (and even in the impossibile case they do not, jype definitely knows) - but at the same time i think we forget how well crafted celebrities' actions and words especially during controversies can be. i mean i've only spoken from a greedy-company-who-only-want-money point of view to try to get a sense of what the fuck is happening - which is something that i obviously hate. so yeah sure seeing how fans (who atp don't care about people lives, even skz reputation or music and it's quality), jype and therefore skz are reacting and handling the situation (promoting the song than any comeback they made) is disappointing to say the least ffs
I'll add a cut to shorten it a bit for everyone's tl ⛷️
Don't apologize, I don't mind it all, you're welcome to rant anytime!
I think I've said this today already but I agree that this is a jype/rr doing and skz didn't pick these producers themselves, they're either work for rr or work with charlie, and I don't think skz knew how problematic puth is. I understand they can't openly say what they think and I don't expect them to, but I highly doubt anyone is forcing them to post selfies with puth or talk about him on bbl. I'm sure there are things they can't post but in this case it doesn't seem like anyone is making them post all that. As a fan it's just disheartening to see this situation unfold. I don't think they are bad people or that this collab says anything about their own values, but I don't want to completely absolve them of any responsibility yk
As for their artistic directon, I just hope it's a one off thing for this collab and for the actual upcoming album everything will go back to normal, I know now everyone releases millions of remixes to chart and its kind of rules of the game, but there are artists who do it creatively, like realising extending versions or skz with la4 rock version. Basically those types of remixes don't feel forced and insincere. Also this song sounds just like a puth song and nothing else, hopefully we won't see more of this on their actual album 🥱

Thess vs Israel
Wow. I'm getting some shit over my reblog at the moment. I'm not really sure why, given that all I was saying was that on this one issue, there is no Presidential candidate at this stage in the game who is not being an asshole about supporting Israel over Palestine. I am aware that the US vetoed Palestine joining the UN, and while Biden did say that UN membership for Palestine should be an eventual end goal, I figure that those words are just about worth the air used to speak them. I am aware that the US is still selling weapons to Israel and not condemning Israel for the Palestinian genocide.
Thing is? I don't live in the US. But I do live in a country that takes the same view on Israel as the US (and in fact has at least attempted to declare the waving of a Palestinian flag an antisemitic hate crime), and a country that entirely screwed itself over by voting on a single issue in very recent memory. In fact, I live in a country that supposedly doesn't have nearly the two-party system issues the US does but functionally does. I know first-hand the problems that come with throwing support at a third party in a two-party system, especially when voter suppression comes into play.
(Look, the government in this country literally admitted that their fucking voter ID laws were gerrymandering and only have issues with it because it didn't have the effect they wanted to, and then further admitted to setting more restrictions so that the gerrymandering will work they way they want it to. So you might say I'm a little sensitive to the issues surrounding what happens to one's vote.)
The thing I feel the need to underline is that you have to fix your own oxygen mask first. The US has its own struggles - the repeal of Roe vs Wade. The various "Don't Say Gay" laws. The gods-awful labour laws in ... it was Kentucky or Louisiana, possibly both. I couldn't tell you what's going on state-to-state, but it's a mess over there. And the reason I couldn't tell you is because we're having our own shit-show over here. The combination of Brexit and climate change-induced shitty weather is going to leave us with food shortages this year, and the increased rate of inflation and stagnant wages means most of us aren't going to be able to afford the food that is available. Frankly, that's been getting worse for years, as more and more of the Brexit-related policies have had to be enacted. The water companies are going bankrupt and deciding to ask for a 56% increase in water prices while diverting money to shareholders instead of ... oh, I don't know, building new reservoirs so we don't have a drought in one of the rainiest countries on the planet every single year. Our right to protest has been curtailed to ridiculous degrees - as in, we have the right to protest, but it's in name only and police will come shut us down if someone declares that our protest is "annoying" or "disruptive". They just passed a bill that, if enacted the way the government wants it to be, is going to get refugees shipped to fucking Rwanda, which the Supreme Court and damn near everyone else have declared unsafe. Not to mention that our universal healthcare system is all but entirely dismantled, the fitness to work of the disabled is going to be assessed by call centre staff with checklists instead of actual doctors, and the benefits of the disabled are apparently going to be scrapped in favour of "ways to help the disabled get back to work". And don't even get me started on the way the trans community is being treated in this country. Not just state-to-state; the entire country.
So, yes, I give a shit about Palestine. But what the fuck good am I going to be to the people of Palestine if I myself am starving, persecuted, and being pushed beyond my physical capabilities? I can care about Palestine without voting against my own interests, and that means tactical voting.
...Well, ordinarily it would, anyway. But the problem - which was the whole point of my comment on that reblog - is that both parties that stand a fucking chance of winning are on the same wavelength as regards Palestine. The Tories are perfectly happy to keep selling arms to Israel. And Labour? Starmer won't even admit that the very visible war crimes are actual war crimes - and he was a human rights lawyer. If I cannot guarantee that a party that will even attempt to stand up to Israel will take office, and I mean 100% guaranteed chance (which is not third parties, not in a two-party system)? Then I have to vote in my own interests.
I care very much about Palestine. However, I am not going to set myself on fire to keep Palestine warm, especially when I'm damn sure it wouldn't be keeping Palestine warm either way.

Here's how American politics is structured, for foreigners wondering why our politics is "like that" and for Americans who haven't quite caught on yet.
On the bottom is regular citizens: these people produce everything in this country, and for the privilege, they're charged rent to exist, and work, and purchase items they need to continue to live. These rents are paid to the federal government. Their state government, and local governments.
City councils/mayor/there's a lot of variety here: usually a local wealthy person who uses their position to enforce new forms of rent on people! Also pretty much the best chance you have to enact some sort of change (the change will be entirely local)
State government: this depends on whether you're a swing state or reliable, if you're a swing state, millions of dollars will probably pour in to get one governor or another. If you're a reliably red or blue state, there might be some fuckery but you can generally elect your own governor.
Ok so right here is a pretty hard dividing line. Anyone below this line has no effect on anything above this line, but the people above this line can fuck with anyone below this line that they want.
Here's where we hit the national congress. These are where the wealthy place their representatives, who are chosen by their commitment to the wealthy (yes, no matter what they say) and then just ungodly amounts of money are poured into their races. No matter what anyone says, there is very little chance of beating someone with an unlimited campaign chest, unless outside circumstances intervene. Once in congress, these people mysteriously become rich! (It's a mystery!) And here is where bribery happens, we call it lobbying tho. I think the last I saw was there is over 20 lobbyists per congressman?
Above here is the president. The president is absolutely chosen by the wealthy, they control the primaries. So here is where the two actual political differences matter. Do we burn everything to the ground now and milk what we can and then get out? Or do we aim for a long term squeeze, where we don't tear everything down, and its more about long term profits instead of a fast payout. To become president takes an unimaginable amount of money. You will sacrifice anything and everything to get to this point, which is kind of the point. No one is allowed this much power in the US unless you're compromised to your very soul.
Here's a fun fact! Even if literally not a single person votes, a president will still be chosen! It doesn't actually matter which one, because the people in control only put up choices they're fine with. No president is going to get to the point where they can even run if they're hostile to wealthy interests.
The federal government is not, at all, beholden to the common American. It's all just play acting. Fuck, look at Palestine. Polls are consistently over 60 percent who want us to intervene and stop it, but instead we give them the weapons they're using to fuel the genocide. Elections above the state level aren't decided by who you vote for, it's decided by who you're allowed to vote for.
