hi thank you for posting your headcanons about tgwcf this fandom is so small it’s microscopic and i have to check every day for new content (though i’m at least glad there are still some people making fanart) i really wish this series had more of a fandom.

(anon from earlier) YES SAME I LOVE TGWCF AND IT BARELY HAS A FANDOM. I mean there's some Tumblr posts about it and about 100+ Instagram posts (too lazy to go through them all) but only a few of them have over 100 notes and stuff (I found one with almost 6,000 notes though, it's a quote from the book) but the Instagram posts are mostly just pictures of the book cover itself, not a lot of "fandom" content. You can scroll through the Tumblr tag pretty quickly, there's some fanart (1/2, continued)

(2/2) though you have to do a bit of digging for it, I've only found about 23 fanfictions for the whole fandom, (most are oneshots or haven't been updated in a long time,) and there are literally no memes and stuff like that :/ I think not a lot of people who've read the first book have read the second or the third, as most of the posts just seem to talk about the first book and not the rest of the series. Still, I'm glad there are some fellow fans on this site :D (hooray for obscure fandoms!!) ——————

obsessed with this dialogue right before the climax of The Boy Who Knew Everything so i tried my hand at a comic-panel-type sketch

(in which I fail to maintain consistent Xanthian fashion because it literally just call them “robes”. what does that mean?? dresses? bathrobes?? what do they wear in the summer? the winter? do they have normal clothes too? what is Max wearing?? help)

ok you got me ive been the same anon sending you all the tgwcf asks fjdjskjsjks. also yeah i feel like most people have only read books 1 and not 2 or 3 because i never see anyone talking about the other two. you think this book would have a bigger fandom than it does but there's not a lot of ppl talking about it. also most of the fics have not been updated in literal years and ive read all of them, though im glad to find some fanart by talented people like you :3

Yeah, I think book 1 was only big with younger kids when it released, and those who read it at the time were getting a bit older by the second book, and by the release of the third likely didn't keep up with the series anymore. And while I appreciate series like this (or the Mysterious Benedict Society, or the Penderwicks) that had their final books follow the much older characters to reflect the much older readers, it leaves anyone who discovers the series later and reads them all at once to not fully 'get' the last one. The Girl Who Fell Out of the Sky also doesn't take place that long after book 2, so it only seems to fit the specific niche of kids who either read the first two when they came out and then actually kept up with the release of the third after they should probably have 'grown out' of it (like me lol), and those who read the first and second together when they were younger and so weren't that much older when the third came out. This leaves about 4 people in the fandom.

sorry, that ended up being a long response! Also thanks for liking my art, I usually just doodle as a hobby but started posting for this series in hopes of improving my skills. I'm going to try to post more frequently, maybe even getting through book 3 before the summer 👀 ? (no promises though)
