i have laundry to fold but i lowkey want to go do a list of all terror characters i can name and identify by face just so i can compare it to my next watch 🤔 (<- jared harris eyebrow emoji)

The Terror is streaming on Hulu from May 29th!

As someone who grew up with her nose stuck in Petersen bird guides, and someone with moderate faceblindness who has to find these sort of landmarks to hold onto, I thought I might be of benefit to viewers of The Terror in differentiating the cast.  I’ll be posting this guide in installments up to the airdate so you can be prepared.

The main characters are actually pretty easy to tell apart, but you don’t realise they’re going to be the main characters at first.  These three are the commanding officers.  They’re distinctive to the point of a “one’s a circle, one’s a rectangle” type character design exercise, but I include them for the sake of comparison and thoroughness.

I’m starting a series of Kaamelott characters sketches inspired by the great Tealin and her Terrorspotting series. Since a LOT of Kaamelott characters are brown-haired dudes with stubble or full beards, je me suis dit que ce serait pas du luxe...

First up, King Arthur Pendragon! He tries. So hard. But it’s not easy when your Knights of the Round Table are a bunch of self-serving bastards or eager dumbasses. He and Father Blaise, the scribe (for Posterity) share the role of Only Sane Men, pretty much (for a loose definition of “sane”). If this was The Office they’d be staring non-stop into the camera.

there's a comic artist who's caricaturized/emphasized the terror characters' facial features (and it helped me a lot my first watch thru!) her blog is @ tealin and the tag is terrorspotting (I don't think I can put a link in an ask) good luck!!

list of guys (and girls!) in the terror i think i can identify after my first watch

this is a post for me to keep a record in order to be able to compare it on subsequent rewatches to find out if i get better (even tho i feel like i have a p high initial terrorspotting stat simply from several years of dashboard osmosis before finally succumbing to the siren call of miserable men dying in the arctic)

since theres sadly no list to tick off faces and fill in names and i can hardly do this by just going on imdb or sth i decided to just google The Terror and look at the pictures in the image results. the first image counts which means if a guy appears in a shit ass grainy background shot then thats the pic i will use for my list no matter if theres a 1080 4k hd shot just two results later!

these are so many guys. how are there so many guys and it isnt even all of them. also pls ignore my spelling i started this yesterday when i got tired of darning socks
