DAY THREE REVEALS
A Rose for Christmas
[David/Patrick, Ted/Alexis, M, 12,744 words]
“David! I’m good, okay? Stop freaking out. I have news.” The roar of blood rushing through his head has subsided enough that he can actually hear her now. Alexis sounds… nervous?
“What's your news?” He asks carefully. Maybe she's being held hostage, and that's why she's acting so weird? He wills his breathing to calm down so he can focus.
She sighs dramatically. “You have to promise not to freak out, okay? I know how you get.”
“‘How I get’ — fuck off Alexis, just tell me your news.”
“I'm getting married.”
David takes some time away from his big city life to come help his little sister plan her wedding. He doesn't count on falling head over heels for the handsome, small town best man.

You taught me everything I know about exterior illumination
[David/Patrick, T, 2,707 words]
Patrick hangs the outside Christmas decor. Turns out that he and David weren't quite on the same page about the aesthetic. A little bit of arguing, a little bit of spiraling, and a whole lot of these boys trying to make each other happy. Happy Holidays!

Holiday Rosé
[David/Patrick, T, 2,620 words]
David and Patrick are celebrating their first Christmas together. The Roses and Brewers are in town, Patrick wants to make everything perfect, and David has feelings about a holiday classic.

[podfic] Slapshot
[David/Patrick, E, 1:41:21]
"It was marvelous and David felt his mouth water as he watched Patrick swing a big hammer thing and hit a large tire with it. It was mesmerizing, watching the swing of Patrick’s arms as the hammer arched through the air. Watching as it bounced off and Patrick stroked the handle, grabbing it under the head as he swung it again. David could see the muscles in his shoulders and back ripple with the movement."
Another installment of the hockey bfs au that I decided we all needed. Patrick decides that he wants to try bottoming.
Slapshot: A slapshot is the hardest shot to make in hockey. The player brings the stick back to shoulder height or higher, then swings it down and slaps the stick against the ice to bend it, using that motion like a spring to then hit the puck hard. When the stick hits the puck, the player must roll their wrist and shift their weight to push the energy through the stick and into the puck.

Her excitement – along with her hopes of the week not getting worse – comes to a halt when she flings the lobby door open. There, curled up on the sidewalk, is a cat. Well, barely a cat. It’s more like a scraggly muppet-like creature that leaps to attention when Stevie steps outside. It looks up at her with sad yellow eyes, mews, then proceeds to rub against her pant leg. When Stevie doesn’t react the cat repeats the action, rubbing more insistently this time.
“Sorry, cat,” she says. “Wherever you came from, you should go back. I don’t know what you think I can do for you, but you’re wrong.”
Stevie gently nudges the cat with her shoe, hoping that will make it wander off. It doesn’t. Instead the cat takes the movement as an invitation to swat at her shoelaces. Perfect.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Stevie turns on her heel to trudge towards her car.
OR the one where Stevie is adopted by a cat
