Hello! Firstly, thank you for writing Ted fics, I read everything in the characters voices and I swear they could be straight out of episodes, your characterisation is SO GOOD!

Both fics filled me with the same heartwarming wholesome feeling that the show gives me

OH MY GOD this is so nice???? Thank you???? Of fucking course it isn't too much bother, especially since we've learned so much more about colin since the last time i did HC for him.

Fair warning tho some of these a going to be a leetle angsty but they get better I promise

Colin Hughes. What a man.

Pre-coming out, he and Isaac were constantly competing to see who could make the other one shriek the loudest with a poke.

Colin is pretty much one of the only ones brave enough to shamelessly go after isaac - the other players will fight back if isaac starts it, but they respect the captain too much to do anything that might somehow undermine his authority

This all stops when isaac learns that colin's gay. And colin tries not to let it show, but it fucking hurts. Aches, even. He didn't even realize that he enjoyed getting tickled by isaac until the man refused to touch him.

Trent Crimm the Independent kind of fills that gap for those few weeks, after he gives colin some advice and claps a hand on the back of his neck, and colin fucking snorts and shoots his shoulders up to his ears

Trent is so good at tickling colin with a completely straight face, and it drives colin bananas. He doesn't know why it makes it tickle so much more, but it absolutely does

Now, personally, i think colin forgave isaac too easily (even though i am glad that they made up!) Like, the whole 'isaac not being able to say i love you' thing broke my heart, so i imagine that it would at least crack colin's a little bit. If anything, it makes him more cautious around isaac, like he doesn't want to set him off again

Colin won't initiate any physical contact with isaac, because he doesn't think he can take the rejection of isaac pulling away again. He tries to be grateful that he's mostly got his friend back, but trent notices the look in his eyes when he stops himself from giving isaac a poke in the ribs as he walks past

Eventually, trent calls isaac over and patiently explains the situation to him. Isaac is shocked that colin feels like he can't touch isaac anymore (because let's be honest, isaac is an emotionally illiterate dumbass), and immediately feels so fucking guilty

He asks trent what he should do, and trent just raises his eyebrows with a, "show him that it's okay"

What follows is possibly the tickliest week of colin's life

Isaac makes a point to casually spider over colin's knee in the locker room, scribble across his tummy during stretches, and claw at his shoulder blade to make him fuck up doing drills. Now that he's looking for it, isaac wonders how he could possibly have missed the way colin's face lights up when he tickles him, and how the smile always stays on his face long after it's over

By the end of the week, colin is a jumpy mess, and isaac finally takes pity on him and wrecks his shit, attacking all of colin's worst spots, making him promise to go back to normal, and even going so far as to make colin say, "I am allowed to have fun with my friends. Being gay doesn't make it weird."

It is barely understandable because isaac was scribbling over colin's shoulderblades at the time, but it still gets the message across

After that, things go pretty much back to normal, except it seems like a weight has been lifted off colin's shoulders.

He resumes his position as Richmond's Most Wiley Ler, as well as his membership of the Wreck Jamie Tartt's Shit As Often As We Want Because He Clearly Adores It club

Once, roy put a hand on colin's shoulder when he's trying to coach him, and colin jumps away with a flushed face. Roy just looks at the sky like Jesus Fucking Christ, another one

Will tease Jamie expertly but absolutely cannot take what he dishes out

And, of course, he is always keeping an ear out if the other lads make any rude insinuations about Wales. Bumbercatch once said something about welsh independence and colin tickled him to the brink of insanity. (Yes, if jamie is in a massive lee mood, he knows the quickest way to get colin to wreck him is to insult his home country).

Ted Lasso Tickle HC's

Ok, fine. I wasn't in the mood to write a whole fic so here are some headcannons I spent an embarrassing amount of time on lol. Let me know what you think/if you have any headcannons I didn't include

Spoilers for the show Ted Lasso. Not too many I don't think but enough for me to put a warning. Sorry for the formatting I couldn't figure out how to do bullet points on only part of the post.

Jamie Tartt

Such a fucking lee it's not even funny

My touch-starved baby

Always after attention, no matter what kind

Dr. Sharon helps him unpack this and channel his need for attention into more positive behaviors like making people laugh, doing small kind things for others, etc

The team accepts Jamie back as a teammate after the Dubai Air protest. But they start actually liking him as a friend once they figure out how ticklish he is. 

In the later seasons, winds Roy up on purpose cause he knows it will end with him howling on the floor with Roy spidering over his ribs mercilessly

Whenever Jamie’s being a prick without getting the signal first, someone on the team will trap him in a bear hug and claw at his tummy

It’s really hard to be mad at Jamie when he’s being held up by a teammate, cackling after his legs gave out after a few pokes

The only one brave enough to poke the bear that is Roy Kent (other than Keeley)

It never ends well for him

Or does it?

Worst spots are ribs and hips

Light bicep tickles als get him really bad, but really only Keeley knows this

Roy Kent

Holy shit

Do NOT piss this man off, he will wreck you

Early in their relationship he would try and tickle Keeley. That stopped pretty quick when he realized Keeley dished it out ten times worse

The only people who know how ticklish he is are Keeley, Jamie, Phoebe, Phoebe’s mom (does she have a name in cannon? Idk) and, oddly, Coach Beard

And he has threatened all of them in order to make sure it stays that way

Roy has no idea how Beard knows and that scares the shit out of him

Beard says that Roy just looks ticklish. Really he was in the office late one night when Keeley came to pick Roy up and saw him jump a foot in the air when she dug a finger into his armpit

Knows that Jamie sometimes riles him up. He lets him because somewhere he knows that Jamie needs this. Also it is quite satisfying. Even better than taking a swing at him to be honest.

Worst spots are under his arms, his neck, and light tickles behind his knees on good days

Keeley Jones

Queen of the lers

Her nails should be classified as weapons

Roy and Jamie both know this

They also know the other one probably knows this. They never talk about it.

She’s the one who let Jamie’s ticklishness slip to Roy

Will let Roy or Jamie get a few pokes in but quickly turns the tables

Rebecca is the only one who knows about the spot being her ears

Colin Hughes

Will absolutely shout, “For Wales!” before pouncing on someone, regardless of whether or not the preceding conversation had anything to do with Wales

His shoulder blades are a death spot

Anything lighter than a firm pat on the back will make his shoulders shoot up to his ears

One of the only people who is allowed to tickle Isaac with few to no repercussions

Generally prefers being the ler, he got enough experience being a lee when he was growing up

Dani Rojas

Sunshine golden retriever man

Loves making people laugh

Will coo at his teammates in Spanish while he tickles them

That’s actually how they find out that Jamie’s been trying to learn Spanish for Dani to make him less homesick. Dani teases him lightly while spidering over his sides, and Jamie BLUSHES hard cause he can actually understand ¾ of what Dani’s saying. Dani tickles him more often after that as a thank you

Sam Obisanya

Ticklish just about everywhere

Doesn’t mind being tickled

Very persuasive - will easily convince people that a certain player needs to be tickled

That makes him dangerous

Excellent reader of people - was the first person to realize that Jamie likes being tickled

Isaac McAdo

Quite a tickle monster in the early seasons

After he becomes captain, is more reserved and conscious that the other guys look up to him

If he ever gets too in his head, Colin is more than happy to bring him back to earth

Also sometimes resorts to tickles to keep the other guys in line

Will sneak in neck and ear tickles to each guy’s haircut every season

Jan Maas

The absolute best at teasing but only because he’s so naturally blunt and honest

“This spot is much worse than your sides.”

“You are very ticklish. Does it ever become a problem?”

“Are we supposed to pretend that we don’t know you are enjoying this?”

“You squirm as if you want to get away, but you do not push away my hands.”

“You are a professional footballer, it would be very easy for you to get away.”

He strikes me as someone who just isn’t ticklish, which Jamie whines is unfair

Coach Beard

Knows where everyone is ticklish and is super scary about it

Rarely actually tickles people. Its bad enough that they know that he could. The one exception is Ted, who he tickles all the time when they’re alone/don’t have an audience, with a completely straight face

i started watching ted lasso and the brainrot is soooo sosososos bad and the lack of trent tk content (and ted lasso content in general) is criminal so do you (pretty please) have any hcs about mr trent crimm the independent?

I have a confession to make... I didn't really give a shit about trent crimm the independent until like a few weeks ago. But then a combination of his thing with colin and the celebration after the game in the last episode where he is so obviously unmasking around ted for the first time that I was like oh shit ok this character is now allowed to take up space in my brain.

So without further ado:

This man. I don't know how tall he actually is. But conceptually, in my head, he is an absolute beanpole

Obviously autistic (last ep made me go back and reevaluate every single trent scene in the show for clues) and when he's jumping around with ted and beard and freaking out about 'the Lasso way!!' it literally would be less obvious if he had a physical mask to take off lol

All that said, he has a strange relationship with touch

Most places, he's really sensitive to light touches, especially the back of his neck and his knees

Will go boneless and collapse if someone (ted) tickles under his arms

Beard thinks that's hilarious. Roy rolls his eyes but would rather trent be the victim that roy himself lol so he doesn't protest

Is a dad, and so he does have a bit of a ler side

He's terrifying like Beard in that he's a silent observer, and so he knows everyone's bad spots before he even tickles them

I think that he would hesitate to tickle the team because he is so conscious that his presence in the locker room is a privilege he doesn't want to abuse

When he does get comfortable enough to do so, it's mostly sneak attacks and acting innocent after a quick flurry of pokes

Colin is the exception in that he will absolutely wreck him with the slightest provocation

OK SO I have so many thoughts. You can find some of my roy headcannons on this post but we are gonna do more because there will never be enough

First of all this gif is so fucking cute. Also the way Phoebe grabs the back of his armpit definitely tickled like hell.

Conceptually, Jamie knows Roy is ticklish cause Keeley let it slip once. In practice, it's not until Amsterdam that Jamie understands just how ticklish Roy is

Trying to teach in how to ride a bike resulted in so. many. accidental. tickles. And quite a few on purpose cause after a certain point he knew Roy was going to wreck him in revenge so he figured he might as well make it worth it.

Jamie tries to balance roy by putting one hand on the back of his neck/shoulder blades and roy immediately leaps a foot in the air, then tries to throw the bike at jamie

Then of course jamie gets wrecked because roy has to establish dominance but the damage is done

Keeley's nails on his tummy make him so fucking tense it's hilarious

And sometimes Keeley's just does it absentmindedly while they're watching a show, and roy just has to sit there and take it cause if he says anything she'll tickle him for real

He will growl through his giggles and it's funny as hell

He will act all tough when tickling Phoebe, but in reality he's very gentle and paying attention to her reactions to make sure she's having fun

Will no longer let his sister (I hc her name is sarah) give him any medical attention because she tickles him every time no matter what she's doing and it embarrasses the hell out of him

When she was in med school she would 'practice' doing abdominal exams on roy and he has never recovered

He knows his sister well obviously and so when she comes to pick up phoebe and is in a mischievous mood he can tell and tries to be as intimidating as possible like, "You better stay the fuck away from me, Sarah... I'm fucking warning you...shit fuck god fuck jesus mary and fucking johohohoseph."

Phoebe thinks it's hilarious

Roy has made a vow to himself to never introduce Sarah and Jamie to one another. He shudders when he pictures what the two of them could get up to

So ya girl was rewatching s1 of Ted lasso. And I’m sure we all remember Ted asking keeley what motivates Jamie and her very quickly and shamelessly answering blow jobs. Which she knew damn well would not help Ted lol.

Anyway. Can we just. For a moment. Consider if she’d have answered “tickles”? Because you cannot tell me tickles don’t motivate him or act as fun positive reinforcement.

It started as a little joke, a just-this-side-of-not-too-patronizing "good job babe!" and Keeley giving Jamie side squeezes when he calls something out as sexist, but soon Keeley noticed how he would absolutely GLOW afterward. Keeley's a smart woman, it didn't take long for her to put two and two together. It gets to the point where all she has to do is wiggle her fingers at him and he's jumping up to go do whatever it is she asked him with the biggest smile.

When Keeley tells Ted, he just fucking rolls with it. He won't make a big deal out of it, but when the team is celebrating in the locker room and it is too loud for anybody to notice Jamie's giggles, Ted will absolutely clap him on the back and scribble across the back of his neck. Jamie turns bright red but doesn't say anything, much less ask Ted to stop.

Hello! Sorry it’s taken a while, I just wanted to put a lot of thought into these HCs which I’ve done for just Roy, Colin, Jamie and Sam

Roy

Will pretend he’s not ticklish, that he won’t tickle other people

Has walked into the changing rooms before and seen some sort of tickle fight going on. Will shout “no!” and walk off

Or “fuck no!” if someone in the middle of the tickle fight catches his eye

No one on the team is brave (or stupid enough) to try to tickle Roy

They just assume he’s not ticklish, after all, they’ve never heard him laugh - that one time doesn’t count, they were more worried about their penises

Most ticklish spots: armpits and top of ribs

Colin

Will laugh until he cries which doesn’t take long

Really ticklish knees and thighs. Physio massages are torture for him

Can’t stand his feet being tickled and will not go anywhere barefoot

The only time he’s not really reactive to tickles is when he’s sad. After Nate told him he doesn’t inspire anyone, it took a while for him to respond to tickles again

Gets in his own head a lot and when Isaac notices this, he can’t resist pinching that super ticklish spot just under Colin’s ribs

Most ticklish spots: under his ribs, knees/thighs and feet

Jamie

Screeches if you get him in the right spot but there is no wrong spot as Jamie is ticklish everywhere

Roy will roll his eyes and say he is “such a child” whenever he sees Jamie getting tickled

Has a habit of putting his hands under his shirt or keeping his hands over his stomach to protect his most ticklish spot

Laughs like the littlest boy

Most ticklish spot: belly and (weirdly) his right foot but not so much his left

Sam

Don’t let the sweetness fool you, he is the most evil and ruthless tickler

Can even get a small reaction from Jan Mass who notoriously isn’t ticklish

Has very ticklish feet himself and quite ticklish on his ribs but can control it

Actually wished he was as ticklish as Colin or Jamie cuz that looks like fun and Sam loves to tickle his more ticklish team mates

Most ticklish spot: feet

oh my GOD these are GOLDEN!!!!! I mean they're all spot on but Roy's were absolute perfection - the 'fuck no!' hc had me rolling because it is SO ACCURATE!!! And Jamie is for sure a screecher, 100%. These were a fucking joy to read and I've already gone back and reread them 2ce.

An autistic!reader insert with AFC Richmond team and reader as Phoebe's babysitter once Roy gets promoted to manager

A fic where Jamie decides he wants to change his name officially so he and his sperm donor don't have the same name. So he goes and changes his name to just Jamie but then when the form asks for a middle name he puts down Simon. And it kind of turned into an exploration of Jamie and Simon's relationship over the years

A lee!Jamie, ler!Sam fic where Sam makes it his mission to share his father with Jamie

So dani and Jamie have their super fun crossbar penalty challenge contest whatever right? Which on its own is great and perfect and a lovely lil tradition that started when Jamie had all those walls and defenses but has continued to the times of ✨friendship✨

Dani loves to teach people things, and Jamie loves to learn. When Dani feels homesick, Jamie will ask him for facts about Guadalajara (did i spell that right? who's to say)

Dani grew up in a warm, loving home, and he hates that Jamie didn't. He goes out of his way to be sweet to his amigo

He is also competitive as hell. So he figures out a way to combine his love for competition and Jamie's love for physical affection

Jamie's spanish vocabulary consists of hello, where is the bathroom, several swear words, and the word 'tickles' purely because Dani coos it at him so often to tease him

If anyone was wondering I'm like 80% sure tickles in spanish is cosquillas which is just such a cute word

Dani's first attempt to combine tickles and the crossbar game is a failure only because Jamie's skill level plummets from 'professional footballer' to 'toddler' as soon as he hears what happens to the loser

After three rounds of Jamie acting like he had never kicked a football in his life, with one hand in Jamie's underarm and the other squeezing Jamie's thigh, Dani play growls and says, "New rule. Winner gets the cosquillas, not the loser."

Jamie blushes all the way down to his chest but nods

And just like that, professional footballer Jamie is back!

One thing Dani didn't account for is that sometimes he will win, and Jamie seems to enjoy taking him to pieces as much as he likes being tickled to death himself

Dani grew up with four sisters and three brothers, and he dreads the day when Jamie will find the spot behind his left ribs that his siblings use against him constantly because it gets him to go boneless and shriek-y with laughter

After a while, Sam will come and watch their games. If Dani wants to get Jamie really bad, he'll ask Sam to help pin him down, which Sam does happily

That's how Jamie accidentally found out that tickling under Sam's arms will get him to collapse immediately with these adorable golden giggles

[I saw this in a fic once but i can't remember which one] collectively, Sam, Jamie, and Dani are known as 'The Babies' by the rest of the team. They aren't the youngest physically, but they act like it
