IG algorithms are trash so 🤬 a #topnine, but here’s a personal #2018 wrap up - and damn what a year . This year I moved out of Oregon (hopefully not forever) to Virginia to spend more time with my family, and making that decision to experience our relationships in slow and patient quality time has felt like good direction I have made in a chain of positive choices made for a healthy and fulfilling life. . I learned to drive (!) and bought a car (!!!) and then drove that car across the country with @koreadanger on the greatest road trip for my move, trucking a cart full of houseplants and two hearts full of adventure through Northern USA. . #Slowcamera has really started to take off! My moleskines are FULL of events from 2018! I can’t list them all due to word count but dang, I couldn’t feel more fortunate! I’ll try to share a couple favorite moments though in the comments (and I’d love to hear yours too!) . I didn’t share many of my client projects from this year on social media, but I: - got to design my very first challenge coins AND enamel pins for #beamsuntory (thank you @flashdancenance @zxenos @courvoisierusa & @sipsmith!) and @causingastir_ - traveled to Texas to #🐌📸 #sacc’s #Teamtaco. - squealed in excitement over my illustrations appearing on both the @roadsandkingdoms and @partsunknowncnn homepages - was published in a freaking BOOK (about nudibranchs! Of all things! 😍 thank you @media_aspidea) - designed the mural and brand graphic for my FAVORITE restaurant in pdx, @holdfastdining (thank you @a_w_robinson)! - created a gift movie poster for @niafromthecoast (commissioned by @pompaglorious) which has stoked my passion to see her debut film, #littlewoods - got to illustrate portraits for @Pdxcw - started designing fabric patterns with collaborator @cosmic.fabric.creations - have continued to work with @shirocosmetics to do dope shit - joined #twitch - and there’s some secrets left 😘 . I’ll mention some other recap stuff in the comments. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had been a part of my 2018. Got to test out the wax seal I designed for #teamtaco this year! This exclusive gift was created by @makersmark (shout out to @bourbonismyboyfriend for this incredible idea and execution) for the lovely prep team behind @sacocktailconf that volunteers at least a week of their valuable time to execute one of the biggest cocktail events in the country. I am proud to have been in this team for three years, and to have supported it with #BeamSuntory for another three. The work I have gotten to do with @flashdancenance @zxenos and @bourbonismyboyfriend has literally shaped my design career and the way I pursue my multidirectional passions, and inspires me to give back to what has brought me up, embrace wholly the pleasures of life (none should ever be guilty), and recognize the variety and adaptability that makes a great team. Today was genuinely one that I anticipated with great excitement, knowing that I would get to see this design come to fruition, and to see it utilized not only in the seal, but also as the label for the letters to next year’s tacos brought such warmth to my heart.
