#tbh ive been having oc x oc brain worms today #but ive also been dumping all of my bad experiences with southern protestant culture into scout #its been a little cathartic #im thinkin that there was a huge buildup to them running away #and im not sure what the particular catalyst was #but they definitely were being groomed to take over the general store #and id say they had a partner/childhood best friend that everyone was expecting them to marry #i imagine this is an area where people start families Very young and so even tho it wasnt happening yet scout knew they were #running out of time #when they werent working in the store their mom put them in charge of all the kids #and that just really clashed with their personality #they dont like being responsible #they like independence #they love to play #taking their parents place as general store shopkeeper was just not what they wanted #even though they ended up running the shop with asra in vesuvia #mel posts stuff
