im mostly done being a little hater, i get a little heated sometimes bc i really like music regardless of what the genre is and listen to pretty much everything. and its upsetting when people don't examine biases or make broad generalizations about a genre that is made by historically (and currently through a lot of social systems!) disenfranchised people, and which has a deep well of cultural history and importance + is truly an art. in a lot of ways hip hop/rap feels like a genre that hasn't been completely "colonized" the way other genres have (a lot of popular musical genres have black roots/were cultivated by black people!)

i digress. i wanted to talk about what i've been listening to lately to kind of move away from my frustration with this whole situation. ive been really on a country-western, jazz and blues kick lately bc i've been listening to a lot of fallout music (lol). nat king cole continues to be one of my favorite jazz artists. his voice is just so nice.

1) V, hands down, no question. Like a lot of people, i got into kpop through BTS. I watched the dynamite MV as a sad, sad college student in 2020, saw him with his lovely honey blond hair and green suit, and was gone.

Q: Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?

2) Taemin. I'm honestly not really *attached* to either him or Hoshi, but I'm genuinely so fond of SHINee and I love his solo work so much.

Q: Who would you rather spend a day with 1 or 3, and what would you do?

3) I guess I have to pick Hongjoong bc Kai isn't currently available 🥲 but like, in this fictional hypothetical world it'd still probably be hongjoong bc I am also an art person and I feel like he'd be fun to window shop with or take to an art store.

Q: What's your favorite physical feature about 9?

4) I really like how expressive Sunwoo is. I know thats not really a physical feature, but I don't think I have one? I tend to gravitate towards performers and he's really really good.

Q: What is your favorite thing about 6's personality?

5) Hoshi's such a dedicated dancer/performer. I recently watched the Steezy dancers react to the Spider dance practice and they were talking about all the details he captures and I love that. He's also a certified weird guy, which is also very fun 😄

Q: If you could tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you say?

6) With Joohoney, probably just that I think he's a very cool performer. Kind of repeating myself but like, I don't even know what else I'd say 😄

7) Hongjoong vs Taemin doesn't seem fair 😄 but like, again, it's gotta be hongjoong. I mean, I already got my ears double pierced bc of him soooooo 😄

8) Uuuhhhhhh, I personally think Kai looks good in like the clean cut, simple suiting and like fancy fashion magazine stuff, but I think it'd be fun to see more sparkle! And nail polish, but I think literally everyone should wear nail polish.

9) Han. I don't even know how tall he is but I *know* Soobin is much taller than me.

10) Mujin and Kingdom. TBZ are one of those groups where what I like from them, I really really like, but I'm pretty middleground about a lot of their discography. I find Kingdom's concept and sound so different and cool. Ascension and Long Live the King are the loves of my life. I can't wait to see them in September!

Hobby Headcanon for Sonic:

I love that it's canon that he likes to read? My personal take is that he's normally so hyper and impatient that he can't sit through a lot of slow things or relax, like watching a movie or finishing a video game, etc. One day, Tails challenged that he couldn't finish an entire book with how antsy he is and Sonic took it personally, so he grabbed a minimum 200 paged novel and settled to read it.

And then just. Never stopped reading since. It took being told he "couldn't handle that" to make him have a slow and comfortable hobby and now he reads regularly when he has downtime. He likes the mental freedom of having his imagination work out the scenes for him and will complain when watching a movie rendition that they "got the view and the colors all wrong". :')

Quirk Headcanon for Tails:

I'm a sucker for "bro these kids are just animals" takes and I thoroughly enjoy when the characters are written or drawn to have little animal behaviors? My favorite for Tails is that he can't help chasing and catching his tails. The way the both move behind him drives him crazy at times and he has to pin them down so he can focus LOL

I feel like this applies to most things that move a lot though. I feel like Sonic is the only one that knows and he sometimes bugs him with string and cattails knowing he'll swat at them or try to catch them. It's really embarrassing for Tails but Sonic thinks its hilarious and cute.😭💕

Happy Headcanon for Infinite:

I had to really think about this because a lot of my headcanons for him are jokes or even just unflattering LOL he's really easy to bully--

I like to think that Infinite has a LOT of really mundane but impressive skills that don't come into conversation often. Like he's the kind of person that can do a ton of neat random things, but he never has a reason to talk about them. And they're things that genuinely brings him peace and clarity of mind.

He plays piano and can do perfect renditions of iconic classics. He can sew very well and is talented with patching clothing and fixing broken dolls. He can spell a word perfectly when asked even if its extremely long and oddly pronounced.

Just a really weird jack-of-all-trades kind of person in a very basic sense. And he like never shows this cuz he's so busy pretending to be superior to others and in worse cases, destroying something?? Infinite's weird but these little things make him experience bliss and normalcy.

after listening to the hatching the harmony ost, i realized the beginning of custody (while they were going through the divorce/j) has a very similar beat in the background to another song you made called guilt of a shooting star! i was wondering if that was intentional or if pure coincidence?

the mod is incredibly well done, by the way. im sure you've heard it many times before but its very true, the music is so good. i find myself humming ridiculed (specifically the "lets spin the wheel, spin the wheel!!" part) when working on school work because it's stuck in my brain (in the best way possible).

that's actually a interesting observation and I'm very giddy you apparently listen to my music enough to notice something like that, and while I would love if it was an intentional thing I think I just REALLY like minisynths and cymbals clashing a lot GAHAHA the noises kinda portray bursts of emotion to me

guilt of a shooting star was a very personal song (loosely based on suitcase/clover's people pleaserness) that I made with a Specific Emotion in mind and I guess it tied together with Custody somehow which is fun. But I don't think that song represents like anything within Custody let alone is kind of the opposite to how Fan's thought process works LOL (idk why the cover is of him I just liked that drawing I think)

@the-silly-station wanted to see some of my sketches + early designs for Monster Beej, so here they are!

the first one i really based on cordyceps fungi (controls some insects' bodies while leaving them conscious as they create the perfect environment for the parasitic fungus to flourish. im absolutely terrified of them.)

i actually really like the second sketch, might come back to that one.

third one i tried to take in a different direction, i think with more insectoid features it might look cooler.

the last pic has some ideas taken from @diamondzart's take on a monstery bj, plus ideas for the transformation in the top right. basically the tentacles burst from beetlejuice's mouth as his humanoid form is consumed to fuel the mindless beast that emerges from the writhing mass <3

(speaking of @diamondzart... she just released a monster bj fic... i have yet to read it but i am 100% sure it kicks ass go read it)

What does your header mean? And I don’t mean that in a “I was too lazy to use a translation app” way, but in a “it sounds like a reference to something or maybe a poem but I’m not sure” kinda way…

i'll give my own translation too, but let it be known to you that i am genuinely happy that you clarified you're not asking in the "too lazy to try n look myself" way

it translates to "I won't wash my hands for a little while, I don't want to take the pollen from your skin away from myself" and it's a lyric from the czech song called Skládanka (Little Puzzle, i think) by Jan and František Nedvědovi. the song is about waking up with your lover in the bed, it's a lazy slow morning and you don't want to get up but you have to part because the world needs you in work. it's basically just singing about how endlessly the singer loves his wife, that he just wants to be with her

my other favorite lines from it are!: • "Snad se mi zdáš, nebo nechápu nic, snad jsem jen blázen, co chtěl by víc, ty můj vánku, skládanko hezká z kouzelnejch chvil." // "Perhaps I'm just imagining you, or I don't understand nothing, perhaps I'm just a fool, which would want more, my breeze, beautiful little puzzle made of magical moments." • "A tvoje tvář je plná stop mých, začnu se bát, jestli to moje rád ti neublíží." / "And your face is full of my traces, I start to fear, if that loving of mine won't harm you."

while not my all time favorite song from them (that would be Růže z Papíru, translating to Rose made of Paper, or Tulácký Ráno, translating to uhh... Tramp in the Morning maybe???), Nedvědi translated n also wrote n then sung songs that i've all found out about from my parents when i was very little. their songs just remind me of the good times from my childhood
