“Bae, why didn’t you pick up my calls for the past four hours. I was so worried!” your boyfriend said clearly upset, you were on a video call so you could see the worried expression on his face. You felt a little guilty for ignoring his attempts to communicate with you, but in part was because you urgently needed space after the situation that happened hours prior, and frankly you still felt not fully ready to talk to him about it, nevertheless, it was important to him, so you put your feelings aside to at least let him know that you needed more time.

“Because I needed time, Taehyung, so please leav…”

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry” he interrupted you to apologize, his nervous movements and his shaking hand indicated you that he was stressed and anxious, he also spoke fast as he was running out of time.

“It was a matter of time, they never liked me nor had further interest into putting some effort to at least tolerate me” you were sad about it, it was hard, this is the people who raised the person you love so much, the people that he admires and respect. Taehyung loves his parents and siblings so much that he constantly tells you about them and how their approval is so important to him, he has nieces and nephews that he adores with all his heart and spoils constantly, his father is like his best friend, he is close to them, so he wanted you to be close to them too, and you did really want it, they on the other hand…

“It’s over, what they say to you was my last straw too, they can’t respect the woman that I love, alright, well then is you and me only from now on” he was now mad, you could notice from his tone “You don’t have to believe their words for a second, that was total bs”

“They said that if we didn’t start dating you would have sign with the producing company, and i…believe them” you confessed, he shook his head in disgust and disagreement.

“But, you know, even though they have done me wrong sometimes, your family only wants the best for you. You may not believe it, but I can empathize with your mother, she’s your mom and wants what she thinks it’s best for you, in a fuck up kind of way, I arrived at the conclusion that if I was truly the best option for you, she would accept me, but she hates me so…” you could not believe that one day you’ll be desperately craving the approval of someone else this badly, but you did.

“You are talking like them now, stop! Can’t you see there was no other options, once I laid my eyes on you?! what they want for me would not make me happy, it’s so hard to recognized my agency? Whatever they had planned for me it was never going to work out anyways”

“How can you be so certain, huh? What they wanted for you actually sounded pretty reasonable: educated, refined, classy.
