Possess Me (Swiss x Reader)
Summary: Ghouls are misunderstood creatures, they let you see what they want you to see and sometimes that's just their stage personas but behind the masks, they are something else entirely. Y/n got that reality check when one particular ghoul showed his true nature.
Pairings: Swiss x Reader
Triggers: Slight obsessive, possessive, and tsundere Swiss

He knew she was perfect from the moment she first stepped foot into the Abbey all those months ago. Amid all the new recruits' other bright-eyed and fresh faces, hers stuck out the most. Not because she was dressed differently (all of them wore the same standard Sibling uniform), or because she had distinguishing features that made her stand out from the crowd like piercings, tattoos, or bright-colored hair. But because of the look on her face as she took everything in. It wasn't any less than shining fascination and excitement but it was just the way she looked at everything around her - like she was indeed taking in the splendor of the Abbey and imagining the skill it took to create such details; she looked at everything as if it was a true work of art to be appreciated and most importantly...respected.
Not a lot of people looked at this place as such. A place that held decades of history, secrets, and lore crafted and chiseled over all those many years. She looked at it as the most important place in the world to be cherished and respected. But her look when her gaze landed on the Ghouls of the Abbey was far more gut-wrenching. Not because there was fear or disgust in them, not even confusion. She looked at them - dressed in their usual black attire and silver masks with postures straight and intimidating. She looked at them as if they were something far more precious to reside in this establishment. As if he mattered far more than anything else.
The smile she had given them while everybody else looked on with a sense of apprehension and wariness made something inside him clench; something forming inside of him when her beautiful eyes traveled from one ghoul to the next until they landed on his; even from behind the silver metal of his mask, he could see her eyes land on him - no, not on him but more looking through him. Even from a distance, he knew she was staring straight into his eyes. Without fear, without trepidation, and without a shred of shyness as the corners of her perfect mouth tilted upward into a smile so dazzling it damn near broke his heart. And then she'd waved; the motion catching the attention of the other ghouls as much as him and he swore Rain even gave her a little wave back.
He had sworn that she would not last long. That her sweetness would soon be tainted the longer she stayed within the Abbey as part of its clergy. But months passed and while he watched other siblings of sin fall to carnal pleasures she never did. Somewhere...somehow she found the strength to stay pure. That fact made Swiss crave her all the more.
Even now, a good year of her being within the Abbey; while others of her group had already left unable to deal with the lifestyle. She never left and each day he found new ways to try and get close to her. Her name was Y/n. It wasn't anything fancy; common by most standards but it fit her so well. And Swiss had no problem with getting close to her - daily reminding her in his own flirtatious ways how pretty she was...how well she fit into the Clergy. He had all her attention. Until that...boy, came along and well. Swiss don't share what's his.
Y/n was walking down the hallway, arms fully loaded with stacks of books that were just one short of covering her vision completely as she strolled down the pathway - the soft tapping of her flats drowned out by the voices and hubbub of the Abbey as others siblings were doing their own things. When a figure came out of nowhere; jogging up to her. She turned her head to look over and gave a friendly smile when she noticed Steven, a new recruit who'd only been there a month or so. He was cute with short cropped dirty blond hair slightly longer on top and pretty ocean eyes that watched Y/n with admiration as he lifted a hand to wave at her.
She didn't know him long but she had been one of the siblings that helped him get accustomed to the Abbey; they had chores together a few times and he was always so helpful and friendly with her.
"Hey, Y/n! Those look heavy, would you like some help with those?" he asked as he motioned at the stack of heavy books in her arms.
"Oh! Sure, that'd be appreciated. But aren't you busy with your own chores?" she raised a brow as she glanced back the way he had come to the small group of other siblings who were busy doing their part.
"Ah, yeah I mean I do have them to do but I didn't want you to trip and fall with those books." he replied rubbing the back of his neck.
Y/n's smile tipped up a bit more. "Well, I won't say no to extra help. These books are pretty heavy. Thank you." she finally agreed as Steven grabbed half of the books off of her stack and eased some of her burden, in the process.
"Where are these heading?" Steven was standing too close not that Y/n seemed to realize as they began walking again.
She didn't notice the extra pairs of eyes that followed her from across the court they were walking through as she looked up at Steven while replying. Steven noticed though as he felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise up and caused him to glance behind him as if he was being tailed but saw no one.
"Oh, these are going back to Papa's office," she explained "He had me help with some transcriptions from the Latin books for the next sermon. I was just going to return them to his person shelves." she responded as they walked.
"Ah, I see." the boy licked his lips nervously. "Hey, Y/n...are you close with Papa? I couldn't help but notice how often you interact with him. N-not that I was like...watching you or anything it's just...Papa's a big figure around here and I don't notice him giving any special attention to any of the other siblings besides a few passing words, y'know?" Steven mentioned nervously.
Y/n's brows furrowed thoughtfully, her mouth twisted sideways in a cute little expression. "Oh, I don't know. I'd say so. He often asks for my help because my major in college had been history and language so I've very good with Latin. I just think he doesn't like to do the paperwork himself." her laugh was sweet.
"Why do you ask?"
Steven shrugged. "Nothing...just like I said, he seems to favor you a lot and you're always seen with his ghouls too so...just wondering." he shrugged a shoulder.
The girl smiled fondly at the mention of the ghouls as she looked down as she walked. "Yeah, I suppose that's accurate. They like to make themselves useless when not practicing or being on tour and since I'm, as you mentioned, I am always being sought out by Papa I suppose they see me as a close confidante." she mused before laughing again
"They are amazing creatures aren't they?"
But Steven wasn't laughing. In fact, his face had fallen a bit and twisted into an expression that made Y/n feel uncomfortable when she finally looked up at him.
"I don't think so, no." he replied finally "They give me the ick. They're always so intimidating and just...stand there staring at you like some bad omen. When they aren't causing havoc at least. I don't know how many vases I had to clean up or replace charred marks and broken walls because of them. They're like children...very very disrespectful children." he grumbled.
Y/n stopped in her tracks as she listened to his words; a frown pulling at her mouth as she stared at him. "They aren't bad creatures, Steven. Sure they like to have some fun but I mean...if you threw a big party something would be bound to happen like broken things and a hole in the wall or two. It's no different." she said quietly as she defended the ghouls.
"Seriously? They're literal demons, Y/n!" Steven turned towards her seeing the expression of disapproval on her face.
Y/n took a breath to collect herself before saying anything that would accelerate the issue. "Steven," she said trying to keep her voice calm and even.
"I don't like the way you are speaking about them. The ghouls are incredible creatures; yes, literal demons. They don't harm the siblings and are a great help around the Abbey. Please don't disrespect them like that. Disrespecting them is like insulting and disrespecting Papa and his judgment." she shook her head. "I won't allow it."
Steven just stared at her as if he was rethinking something and didn't notice the figures walking towards them from up the hall. The pair just stared at each other before a smooth voice tinged with dark intent spoke up from behind Steven causing both siblings to turn their attention to the dark-clad figures standing there.
"Is there a problem here?"
Y/n's expression softened slightly upon seeing the familiar silver masks. "Swiss and Aether! What a surprise." her smile widened.
"What are you two doing? Don't you have practice?" she asked tilting her head and watching them with those big innocent eyes she always gave them.
Aether tipped his head and raised a hand to give her a little wave. "Hey there sweetpea," he ignore the not-so-subtle scoff Steven gave before continuing. "Practice just got out! Where are you heading?"
"Oh, just to Papa's office, I finished up those translations he needed help on the other day; just returning his books to him! How'd practice go?" she asked in return and Steven sighed obviously not pleased at this turn of events.
This made Swiss, who had yet to say a word besides his initial approach, to snap his head towards him in such a way one could have mistaken him for Dewdrop if it wasn't for their stature differences.
"Something the matter, Steven?" he asked far too calmly for his usual personality - the tone he used just for his name alone was so condescending that Y/n and Aether both turned to look toward the pair.
"Yeah, actually." Steven straightened up and glared at Swiss. "You're interrupting us." he stated in bravado.
Y/n's mouth opened to scold the boy but Swiss took one large step towards the Brother in a way that was menacing even to Y/n's eyes.
"Is that right?"
Aether absently reached out to grab a hold of Y/n's shoulders and gently pull her away from the pair and wrap an arm around her shoulders to keep her from pushing her way between the agitated males.
"Yeah, that's right. Me and Y/n were busy." Steven had to look up towards Swiss since he was a few inches shorter. "You can say your pleasantries and then go back to whatever you Ghouls do. Like, cause trouble."
Swiss' teeth flashed in his signature swiss smile that was all white straight teeth but the smile was anything but friendly as he bore down on the other; inching downwards until Steven had to take a half step back to gain space.
"Listen to me, you worthless excuse for a mortal boy," Swiss' voice was rough with a demonic edge that caused Steven's eyes to widen a bit in fear. "You don't disrespect Y/n, ever."
"You don't belittle her for her interests, you don't disrespect her preferences, and you sure as hell won't stand here acting all high and mighty as if you have a claim to her."
"Swiss-" Y/n started taking a step forward but Aether's grip tightened and he pulled her back against his side.
"Not the right time, lovie. Let him say his peace...it's better than cleaning up a body." the Quintessence ghoul murmured to her but even he too was watching his packmate like a hawk to make sure he doesn't have to jump in to stop him from tearing the sibling's throat out.
"She isn't yours-" Steven began but Swiss cut him off; literally, with a clawed hand gripping the boy's throat and pulling him closer - the glow of his demonic eyes behind the mask eerie and causing the boy to tremble.
"That's where you are mistaken...Y/n's mine. She's ours. So the next time I see you anywhere near her or talking to her with anything other than respect..." Swiss' head tilted to the side
"I will give you a reason to call us demons of hell."
With that, the Multi-ghoul let go of the other and snatched the stack of books from his grasp before jerking his chin. "Now scram, you haven't finished your assigned chores yet." back was that playful ghoul Y/n was used to as his smile grew from threatening to even worse because he was now smiling like he usually did - all friendly and jokes. All of them knew that was far scarier than the earlier smile he had on because he was playing it off as if nothing happened even while the threat hung heavy in the air.
Nobody would find the body, Y/n was sure of it. She didn't say anything though and just clutched the books tighter to herself but she was not afraid. Steven sort of did ask for it with the way he was speaking about the ghouls; she couldn't find it in herself to feel sorry for him for pissing off Swiss.
But as the sibling scrambled down the hall, tripping over his own two feet, Swiss turned around as if nothing happened before joining his packmate and Sister.
"Papa's office you said?" he asked as he sidled up to them.
"Mhm." Y/n nodded slowly. Aether let go of the girl and instead grabbed the stack of books she was holding before the pair began escorting her down the hall toward Papa's office.
They did not say anything as they walked and said nothing still while they put away the books but as Aether left the room to wait in the hall it was only Swiss and Y/n left in the office. The Sister was busy writing down a note for Papa on a sticky note on the desk when she felt a presence behind her. She straightened up but didn't look back at Swiss.
"You didn't have to threaten him, you know." her voice was soft in the quietness of the office.
Swiss tilted his head to watch the side of her face as he idly picked up a strand of her hair. "Oh, but I did, sweetheart. He disrespected you. No one does that." he replied casually but there was a lilt in his voice that made Y/n turn her head to look at him; not that she would see much with the mask on but her eyes met him through the mask and she found herself entangled in their colors.
"It's not about the disrespect Swiss. I could have handled it, I was handling it." she protested quietly with a pointed look. "Tell me the truth, because I know that display out there wasn't because someone disrespected me. You would have just given him a slap on the wrist with a well-placed Swiss-style insult."
She turned around to find his body caging her against the edge of the desk. "That display out there, that was something different entirely." she scanned the mask as if she was trying to see his expression through the metal.
"Do you really want me to say it?" the ghoul gripped the edge of the desk on either side of her as he bent his frame over hers.
"I'm not stupid Swiss but I think it's warranted to say out loud so that it's in the air." she raised her chin stubbornly; casting her face closer to his by default as her bright eyes stared up daringly into his.
A rumble vibrated in his chest and but she didn't feel intimidated or scared even when she felt the leathery tip of his tail snaking up her leg and tightening like a boa around her thigh while his large hands gripped her waist; the sharp tips of his claws digging into the soft flesh beneath her habit to pull her closer until they were chest to chest.
"You are mine, Y/n." his voice was deep as he stared down into her wide eyes. "You've been mine since the first damned time you laid your eyes on me. No one. no one threatens to take you away from me."
Y/n breath lodged in her throat as she reached up to cup his jaw; feeling the stubble growing there - rough and prickly against her fingertips. "You're an idiot." her words made him pause as she let it out in a controlled breath.
"One big idiot. To ever think anybody could compare to you." her hands gripped his collar and yanked him down to crash her lips against his, that was anything but sweet.
Teeth clanked and nipped, hands gripped tight and yanked until there were bruises surely to be left until oxygen burned out and she pulled back; crashing against the desk to steady herself as she bit her bottom lip swollen from his bites and kisses.
"And," she finally breathed out. "You're a bigger idiot for thinking that you were the only one with an obsession, Swiss." his name left her lips like a taunt as she gave him a slow curling smile that had his blood boiling.
That look alone made the Multi-ghoul surge forward only to be stopped by her hand gripping his collar just centimeters before he could latch his mouth over hers again.
"But I'm not easy." she used her grip on his collar to push him back a few steps before straightening herself up. "And I won't be easy to catch." she brushed past him to leave the room.
Swiss chuckled low; echoing in the empty room with a darkness only those of hell could achieve. As Y/n began leaving the room she heard his parting words and they caused a thrill to race through her blood.
"Run... run... run, little rabbit. The hunt is on."

If I’m Alone, I Cannot Hate.
Warnings: Anger, Forms of Self Harm, Self Hatred.
Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Angst.
Pairing: Mostly Sodo/Swiss.
A/N: Includes Poly!ghouls, Ghouls are not human (Have horns/tails, purr and growl.) This is Sodo’s POV of the same story from my last post, which can be found below: https://www.tumblr.com/sodoshame/724281882958807040/deliver-me-into-my-fate
_
"Back off Phantom, just stop, okay?"
As Sodo spoke, the aggression was clear; venom was practically dripping from every word. His tail was flicking wildly behind him as he spoke. Phantom looked at him, his shoulders drooping slightly, as well as his tail.
"What do yo-'
"You know what I mean. You are nothing like Aether, and you never will be. You are fucking useless."
Sodo's insults cut right through Phantom, leaving him trembling. Sodo spat in his direction and stormed off, radiating heat. He headed outside, hoping the cool evening breeze would calm him down.
Taking deep, angry breaths, Sodo’s eyes dart around. He can only feel himself getting more and more worked up; with a deep growl, he slams his fist into the brick wall. He pulls his hand back, inspecting his now slightly bloody knuckles. Not satisfied, he slams his fist back into the wall, breathing heavily.
He knows he shouldn’t have said what he did, but Phantom had so many similarities to Aether- Sodo just couldn’t take it, so he took it out on Phantom. Just as he goes to slam his fist back against the wall, he feels a strong hand grip his wrist, stopping him in his tracks.
“Hey, hey, Dew! What are you doing?!”
It’s Swiss. Sodo shakes his hand off, stepping back from him.
“Piss off, Swiss.” He hissed, looking at him with half-lidded, angry eyes. His jaw was clenched, his bloody hands in fists. Swiss tilted his head to the side, looking at Sodo with concern.
“Dew, darlin’… come here.” Swiss says, as he reaches his hand out to Sodo again. The ghouls only ever called Sodo, Dew or Dewdrop, when they were worried or angry at him.
“I said, piss off.” Sodo spat, pushing Swiss’ hands away and beginning to walk the other way. Swiss grabbed Sodo by the sleeve and pulled him close, trying to embrace him in a hug.
At first, Sodo fought against it, pushing against Swiss, trying to wiggle out of his arms as he mumbled a string of curse words.
“Dewdrop, I’m here to help. Talk to me.” Swiss managed to keep a decent grip on the smaller ghoul as he looked down at him, nothing but sincerity in his eyes.
Just like that, as Sodo looked up at Swiss, he felt tears well up in his eyes. He stopped struggling against him, finally giving in and leaning into him. He tried to speak, but was interrupted by a heartbreaking sob. Burying his face in Swiss’ neck, he let everything go, unable to stop himself from losing it in front of him. He felt strong arms wrap around his shoulders, holding him close.
“Breathe, Dew. It’s alright. Whatever happened, we’ll sort it, okay? Just breathe. In… Out… That’s it, good job, firefly.” Swiss soothed him as he cried, rubbing circles on his back. After a short while, Sodo seemed to calm down a little, although tears were still running down his cheeks.
“Let’s go inside, let me take a look at that hand, yeah?”
Sodo nodded in response, trying to wipe his face with his bloodied hands. Swiss kept a protective arm around his shoulders as they walked inside, into the kitchen. He picked Sodo up, putting the smaller ghoul on the counter whilst he searched for the first aid box.
Once he found it, Swiss walked back towards him, setting the box to the side. Sodo silently held out his bloody hand to him, as another tear slipped down his face. Smiling sadly at him, the taller ghoul gently wiped the tear from his cheek. Picking up his hand, he began inspecting it closely, wincing as he did.
“Okay, sweetheart, this is going to sting, okay?” Swiss mumbled quietly as he gently wiped a wet washcloth over Sodo’s knuckles. Flinching slightly, Sodo hissed in pain.
“I know, Dew. It’ll feel better in a minute, okay?”
Swiss’ calming voice seemed to be helping him feel a little better, the tears becoming less frequent. After wrapping up his knuckles, he took a clean washcloth and gently wiped Sodo’s face; cleaning the mix of smeared blood and tears on his cheeks. Once he was done, he gently placed his hands on the fire ghouls knees, staring at him with a concerned look on his face.
“You want to tell me what happened, sweet pea?” Swiss asked, his face soft.
“I- I… I was such an asshole. I was just so pissed off, I didn’t know what to do and I-” Sodo’s voice cracked slightly as his breathing quickened again.
“Hey, take it slow, Dew. Breathe for a second.” The taller ghoul reached his hand up to caress Sodo’s face, gently stroking his cheek with his thumb. Taking a deep breath, the shorter ghoul leans his face into Swiss’ hand.
“I… I yelled at Phantom. I was such an idiot. Fuck, I really didn’t mean it.” He said, his gazing going down to his knees.
The multi-ghoul keeps stroking Sodo’s face gently, nodding patiently.
“Okay… What did you say to him, Sodo?”
Just as he was about to respond, the door to the kitchen slams open, revealing an apparently rather pissed off water ghoul.
“What the fuck did you do to Phantom?” Rain hissed, glaring at Sodo, his eyes flicking down to the fire ghoul’s knuckles.

After the LA rituals… All I’m saying is that now we know Swiss acting insane onstage wasn’t him gearing up to kill Copia, it was him trying to get Aurora’s attention. THAT WAS A MATING DANCE BITCH LOOK AT HIM GO.
HE’S LIKE ONE OF THOSE WACK ASS BIRDS IN THE GALAPAGOS OR WHATEVER. JUST ACTING A FOOL FOR ATTENTION.

Sing to me
Swiss and phantom
This is written on whim and not betad or edited
I have no idea how many words there are
Phantom using they/them
Swiss using he/him (in this one)
Warnings, some sensory overload
Theres most definitely spelling errors and run ons
Swiss was very used to phantom coming to him when in need of a pick-me-up hug or some kind words or even just some silent company, he had come to the conclusion that its cause hes a multi ghoul and phantom is in need of quintessence used on them, and while swiss' small bit of quintessence was a bonding point it for certain was nowhere near why they went to him.
Phantom had woken up today with a dull feeling in their head, not a headache but a full and numbing sensation that resides along sound of any kind, starting off the day with simple turning on their music only to turn it off immediately because it made that strange numbness grow to swallow their hearing almost entirely.
While not a new sensation it was however new in their topside body, the way it fills their head making everything feel heavy and if not acknowledged very well could lead to an eventual headache or migraine.
Continuing on with their day they still payed that full feeling in the head no mind, just breathe, calm the heart and itll stop... right?, it being the heartbeat sound pulsing through their ears, being able to turn off the sound themself helped alleviate the curious situation temporarily but while others go about their absent mindedly noisy days the heartbeat eventually will shift from a beating pulse to a low thrumming rolling sound, their head felt heavier as it continued like its filled with sand.
With a mind repleated of sand, the singing dunes in their head were sensitive to the storm in sounds today and it was becoming overwhelming, choking them and drying their throat stopping them from crying out as the mental sand fills their vocal chords and stops any sound from adding to the world around.
when sound becomes all consuming and than disabling to the senses it will completely disorient a person or ghoul making functioning almost impossible, especially when its a normally working sense and than its use in survival is ripped away leaving a raw wound left open from where sand had turnd to glass and ripped though the signals to the vocal chords making a voice so desperate now silent so not to disturb the percussion in their ears.
The second sign was that light left a burning, dizzying, nauseating feeling in their body, the textures of things felt like they were enhanced tenfold sleep and taste were gagworthy, sickening.
Every sense lit ablaze but only one causing a full fire in sensations and it just so happens to be the sound they rely on the most, its disorienting, a bat without its echo location is nothing but an accident waiting to happen, a wrong turn, three doors on the left and two doors at the end of the hall, thankfully phantom doesn't need to follow sound or harmony to know where to find safety.
Stumbling into the rehearsal room ears coverd and eyes squinted teeth bared in a grimacing disposition, swiss drops all sound, setting his acoustic guitar down quickly almost immediately the grimace drops and their eyes open once more, hes seen this with rain and mountain before, he knows what to do.
Grabbing a spare pair of fully noise canceling eardefenders putting them over phantoms poor ears, turning on full silence mode theres nothing making its way into the auditory cortex of tommys head. Phantom crashes chest to chest into a desperate safe keeping hug with swiss, they cant hear him but swiss is speaking small nothings, the vibrations, physical sensation of a bats point of visibility, sensation of a spiders web being disturbed, silent sight.
Small tendrils of quintessence making their way from swiss' hands into and up the spinal cord and tommy can feel it, it wont work, their mind will just feast and consume it, ready to use on another, but instead they place a gentle hand on their own throat to make sure theyre actually speaking "stop"
And swiss does, all he wanted to do was fix quickly the way everyone else had asked when a full quintessence was preoccupied but he had jumped into this role without knowing what was actually needed.
Phantom places one hands carefully over swiss' larynx on the thyroid cartilage while keeping a hand on their own "speak" tommy mumbles out only to feel vibrations in return
Vibrations lighting sensation in the mind, theres something so surreal about feeling what you can see or hear, the way things move vibrate and shift, a spider aware of its web as an extention of itself through vibrations phantom aware of sound through vibrations and movement of the thyroid cartilage and the shape of swiss' lips, silent sound.
"Sing to me" it comes out as a plead but they had no idea; swiss taking a moment to process the request he smiles, taking tommys hand thats on their own neck and adjusting it so theres onto two fingers extended and moving it to lightly press to his lips.
Keeping his eyes on phantoms face swiss starts singing, nothing crazy just a calm simple song, one hes heard tommy listen to before and while they cant exactly tell what the words are the vibrations however a calm a sway through tides changing, the phases of the moon in increments and the sparks of stars in the sky, it sounded like nothing but safety when their hands played the roles of hearing in a different way.

As the vibrant hues of the setting sun danced upon the horizon, casting a warm golden glow, the air grew crisp and cool, signaling the arrival of a blissful autumn evening. Nature's paintbrush had transformed the world around, adorning the trees with fiery shades of red, orange, and yellow. The leaves, now kissed by the gentle breeze, fluttered down gracefully, creating a carpet of rustling whispers beneath her feet.
Y/n strolled along the winding path, embraced by the earthy aroma of fallen leaves, mingling with the faint scent of wood smoke from the distant bonfire that was going on nearby shy of Primo's Greenhouse. The daylight gradually waned, allowing the stars to peek through the emerging twilight, casting their celestial sparkle upon the ever-darkening canvas above.
A symphony of sounds greeted her ears as she ventured deeper into the heart of this enchanting evening. The chirping of crickets resonated softly, while the occasional hoot of an owl echoed through the nearby woods. The gentle rustle of small creatures scurrying about, preparing for the coming cold, added to the captivating melody of nature.
The girl found solace in the rhythm of her own footsteps, each one a gentle percussion upon the earth. The cool breeze teased her cheeks, whispering secrets of the changing season as it rustled through the branches overhead. She paused for a moment, basking in the tender embrace of the autumn evening, letting the world around her wash away any lingering worries.
Ahead, was the bonfire where poles with fairy lights were constructed by the Greenhouse that held the majority of the Abbey's gathered Clergy for the annual Halloween party. It beckoned her with the inviting glow of its warm lights spilling out into the forest. A tantalizing aroma of fresh hot cocoa, smores, and cinnamon-laced pastries wafted through the air, enticing her senses. The comforting chatter of the other siblings around carried a sense of camaraderie and shared stories.
With a smile, Y/n stepped through the treeline into the light of the fire. The light around her revealed her outfit of choice costume for this year; a skin-tight body suit that was white as the snow, long-sleeved with a hood that contained loppy bunny ears. It wasn't the sluttiest outfit among her peers but she hadn't dressed up for them; only one person in particular that her eyes sought for in the crowd of mingling Clergy. Her friends embraced her with their welcoming calls of hello as she passed by and she gave a sweet smile of greeting to them in return as she headed for the refreshments table.
As she poured herself a foam cup of hot cocoa to stave off the chill of the autumn night she felt a presence behind her. It was familiar and the feeling of eyes on her was intense; like a dark predatory sizing up their catch. But when she looked over her shoulder her smile dropped when she looked up at Kenneth instead of who she thought was behind her.
"Kenneth. Hello." she greeted him formally as she eyed his choice of costume.
He was dressed up as a vampire, with fake fangs, a cape, and slicked-back hair to boot. He eyed her skimpy outfit and smirked as he grabbed himself a cookie from a tray near her.
"You look good enough to eat." his tone was friendly enough but Y/n wasn't stupid; ever since the whole debacle with Swiss and Aether months prior he had kept his distance but his distaste for her and for the ghouls had ramped up.
"And you look like every other fake vampire with poor taste in costume. Vampire, how original, Kenneth." she replied with a sugar-sweet smile; to anyone else around them they would think the pair were just flirting with each other. But that was far from the case.
"At least I'm not dressed like a whore." he piped up with a sneer and Y/n's nostrils flared up at the insult even as she tried to keep her smile on her face.
"Well, at least I can take rejection." she replied back before shoving her way past him knocking shoulders with him and causing him to drop his cookie with a curse.
Seething at the insult, Y/n looked around at the gathered siblings and spotted the ghouls off to one side; they were dressed head to toe in costumes that hid most of their features from any prying eyes but it wasn't hard to figure out who was who.
Dewdrop was dressed up as a plague doctor with a matching bird beak mask and cane, Aether was dressed like a gladiator with a helmet on hiding half his face and carrying around a sword that looked far too real to be fake, Rain looked like some kind of modern pirate with an eye patch and a bandana wrapped around his neck and a sleeveless top with tight pants on, Mountain resembled something like reminded her of either an ancient shaman or medicine man with an animal skull on his face, and Swiss...swiss looked utterly delicious in an evil ringmaster costume on with the cane, tophat, and long-tailed coat over his vest.
Y/n had to look away from the man's intense stare as she came up to them with a smile. "Well, look at all of you guys!" she smiled placing her hands on her hips and examining each of them in turn.
"Aw, you look so cute Y/n!" Rain chirped with a smile as he eyed her outfit of choice. "Cute bunny costume."
"Thank you! It was a last-minute change, I was going to be a witch but..." she eyes traveled back to Swiss, a teasing glint in them that had him clenching his jaw. "I thought being a bunny suited me better."
"Well, watch out for the Brothers here, a few of them had too much to drink from the spiked punch; they'd eat you up alive in that costume. Not much left to the imagination there, sweat pea." Aether chuckled as he caught the look between his friends.
"Oh I can handle myself just fine Aeth. But thank you for the warning." the girl smiled and turned around with a hop to show them the back. "Look, I even have a little tail." she wiggled her butt, the fluffy white tail of the bunny costume wiggling with it.
"Adorable." Mountain chuckled.
"I thought so! Where's Papa and the ghoulette's?" Y/n spun back around to face them again.
"Oh, I think they are playing a game of bob the apple or something." Rain replied looking around before spotting his friends. "...or they are terrorizing Copia." he sighed.
Y/n followed his gaze to where the ghoulettes were messing with Copia who was already drunk on the other side of the bonefire.
"Well, we should probably go save him before he ends up passed out somewhere." Rain added with a sigh as he linked arms with Mountain and dragged him over to their friends.
"I'm going to go get me some punch and maybe hit that fine piece of ass over there; she's been giving me the eyes all night." Dewdrop added as he stalked away to go to another sibling who was dressed up as some kind of cat girl in leather.
Aether looked between Y/n and Swiss before sighing and adjusting his helmet. "Don't cause a scene." he warned before leaving his two friends alone; ever watchful from across the yard as he chatted up with another ghoul from the older eras; probably Alpha who was dressed up like a viking warrior or something akin to that.
The sister looked around the crowd idly even when she felt the heat of Swiss at her side as he drew nearer; bending down slightly to speak in her ear.
"So, what was that about with Kenneth?" he asked watching the people around him acting nonchalantly like her even when he felt the urge to hide this little woman away from the prying eyes of other men who were unabashedly eying her up; probably drunk or tipsy at the least, hoping to get lucky tonight.
Y/n gave a little shrug of her shoulder and looked over her shoulder at him with her best innocent eyes. "Nothing. He's just a little boy who's got his ego hurt a bit. Nothing I couldn't handle."
"I saw the way he was looking at you." Swiss muttered meeting her gaze with the firey ones of his own that held dark promises.
"So? What if he was looking at him a certain way?" she taunted with a slow curl of her lips. "Jealous? If you are, maybe you should do something about it, Swissy." she cooed before sashaying away with a bounce in her step that made her bunny tail wag along with her hips as she went to mingle with her friends.
The night was long and the drinks just kept on coming. The moon was high in the sky casting more light into the forest as people partied together. Some snuck away together while others - drunk off their asses, were having a full-blown make-out session right where they sat. Y/n had taken a seat by the bonfire and was roasting a marshmallow while talking to another brother of sin - Toby, was his name if she recalled. They were laughing and chitchatting but all the while she could feel the burning gaze on her from across the clearing but she wouldn't give Swiss the satisfaction of catching his eye.
When a particular song came on the stereo she jumped to her feet and pulled on Toby's arms to get him to stand as she cheered. "This is one of my favorite songs! Let's join the dance floor." she winked as she dragged him along to the spot where others were dancing.
The song was hot and heavy, booming with promises of fun later. While others took dancing partners to dance within the clearing to the obviously sexy song Y/n began moving along with the music; swinging her hips and allowing Toby to hold her close as they moved against each other; all the while her skin felt hot - but not because of the fire or the heat of her skin tight outfit but from the glowing eyes from across the clearing that pinned her with possessive anger. Her moves were deliberate as if she was dancing for someone in particular - certainly not Toby but nobody knew that as they danced or watched from the sidelines. When the song ended and some migrated to the bonfire to roast some more marshmallows Y/n noticed the pile of firewood dwindling.
"Oh shoot, we're almost out! I'm going to go gather some more, save me a spot at the bonfire, yeah?" she called to Toby as she grabbed the basket for wood and headed into the darkness of the forest.
Even when she couldn't see she knew she was being followed - that ever-growing presence of dark energy at her back as eyes glued to her was evidence enough as she gathered some spare branches and wood she could find. When she was far enough from the celebratory clearing she stopped and straightened up.
"I know you are following me." she said into the darkness.
"How'd you figure that?" Swiss' body came into view in the dim light causing her to turn to look at him.
"I could feel your eyes on me the entire night." she cocked a hip as she eyed him up and down; he looked utterly terrifying in the dark with his outfit on and the burning in his eyes.
"Do you like him? That boy you were dancing with? did you have fun taunting me the entire night?" he asked, his voice low and commanding causing her to take a step back.
"Who said I was taunting you?" she quipped back with a jut of her chin. "Maybe I like Toby. He's a sweet guy."
The cool air of autumn kissed her cheeks as she was suddenly yanked forward faster than her eye could catch and her back pressed against a tree so hard the breath got knocked out of her lungs.
"Don't fucking play with me, woman." Swiss snarled inches from her face. "You were taunting me with that ass all night. When are you going to realize you're mine, sweetheart?"
"Am I yours though? Because last time I checked Swiss, you didn't claim me." the girl raised her chin; her lips ghosting over the stubble on his jaw from the angle causing his skin to grow ten times hotter.
He licked his lips slowly, his eyes closing for a moment as he tried to keep his cool. He wasn't usually so possessive but watching her dance like that, seeing her in her skimpy skin-hugging costume knowing it was a jab at him made his blood boil.
"Run." his voice came out more demonic than human. "Fucking run, little bunny."
Y/n's eyes sparked with a sense of fear as much as they did in excitement knowing what he was implying and with a saucy grin she darted from beneath the cage of his arms and disappeared into the darkness. Swiss clenched his fists, counting until ten before he swirled and gave chase.
Heart pounding, adrenaline surging, Y/n raced through the dark woods, the cacophony of her footfalls blending with the haunting silence of the night. The moon's feeble glow barely penetrated the dense canopy above, casting eerie shadows that danced and twisted with every erratic movement.
A bone-chilling gust of wind howled through the trees, as if urging her to run faster, urging her to escape the impending danger. The air, thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves, filled her lungs, fueling her sprint.
Behind her, a sinister presence lurked with promise as heavy footsteps reverberated through the forest floor, a haunting reminder that a certain danger was close at hand. She could feel him closing in, an invisible force that clawed at her back, spurring her on, pushing her beyond the limits of her own exhaustion.
Each stride she took was a battle against her pounding heartbeat and trembling muscles. Twigs snapped beneath her feet, amplifying the fear and excitement that gripped her as if the very forest conspired to betray her presence. The rustling of leaves intensified as if the woods themselves conspired to expose her to the relentless predator on her heels.
Y/n's senses heightened, every flicker of shadow, every distant hoot of an owl, became an ominous omen, a reminder of the relentless pursuit. Her eyes strained to pierce the inky darkness, searching for a glimpse of escape, but all she could discern were gnarled branches and twisting roots, obstacles conspiring to trip and impede her flight.
Time seemed to warp, stretching every agonizing second into an eternity. The air grew colder, chilling her sweat-soaked skin, and goosebumps prickled across her flesh beneath her costume, a visceral reminder of the encroaching presence of the ghoul chasing her. Panic surged within her, threatening to overtake rational thought as she teetered on the precipice of exhaustion.
But then, a faint glimmer of hope flickered ahead—a sliver of moonlight peeking through a narrow gap in the trees leading back toward the Abbey. With renewed determination, she summoned her last reserves of strength and lunged toward the light, pushing her body to the brink of its capabilities.
But just as she was reaching the end of the path a hand snaked around her waist and she was yanked back into the darkness; the harshness of tree bark dug into her spin while a hot body pressed against her front - pinning her between a hard place and an immovable body trapping her within strong arms. Harsh pants escaped her lips as her head leaned back against the tree; hot breath breathed against her neck causing her to shiver as her hands dug into the tree on either side of her.
"Well, looks like you caught me..." she licked her suddenly dry lips. "What are you going to do about it?"
Her vision was suddenly filled with Swiss' dark orbs as he lifted his head from her neck and a strong hand reached up to wrap idly around her throat; not choking but simply resting there like a promise as a dark smile slowly revealed his fanged smile.
"I'm going to devour you."
"So do it." Y/n taunted arching up against him while exposing her throat. "You say you're going to claim me so that no other man can have me right? Do I have to go get Toby or finish the job you started?"
His nostrils flared and his grip tightened around her throat as he yanked her face to his until they were just centimeters away from each other; the small space shared by their uneven breathing.
"You're mine," he snarled, his voice laced with possessiveness. The words lingered in the air, holding an undeniable weight between them that only amped up their desire for each other.
Y/n stared up into his eyes. His eyes, smoldering with an intense hunger, locked onto hers, capturing her attention entirely. There was a dark fire in his gaze, a primal need that mirrored her own desires.
With an irresistible force, he pulled her closer, his grip firm and possessive. His lips met hers in a fervent collision, igniting a passionate flame deep within her soul. The kiss was a dance of dominance and surrender, an intertwining of lips and tongues that spoke volumes of his claim to her. Teeth nipped at lips and clanked together as hands roamed and yanked on clothes. She arched up into him, throwing a leg over his hip which he gripped tightly in a large hand.
"Fuck this suit!" he tore his lips away from her; his eyes zeroing in on the speck of scarlet smeared along her lip that had nothing to do with her lipstick and his thumb instinctively wiped at the blood there created from his fangs. She didn't seem to mind.
"So why don't you stop playing this game Swiss and rip the fucking thing off of me?" the girl replied shoving at his chest making him drop his hold on her and take a step back.
Oh, she was taunting him all right; pushing his buttons. It was a dangerous game to play - a game that he'd never have expected from sweet little Y/n who was loved by all but this side of her sparked the primal animalistic need to claim her.
"You better start running and if I don't fucking find you where your meant to be...I'm fucking you against the nearest available surface; peers be damned." his words came rumbling out through a ghoulish growl and he watched as her eyes lit up with excitement again while she slunk away from him slowly before turning on her heels and bolting straight to the Abbey.
Straight into the safety of its walls...and straight to the Ghoul's wing for Swiss' bedroom.
