[ PROSPERITY TOSS ] ━━ a common tradition to signify the end of the year and the birth of a new one is to create a bowl of fruits, vegetables, fish, and other fresh foods, and to feast. many restaurants host these during the lantern rite to bring us together !

if this little sun had to be honest, she’d argue that the hype over crabs was lame! why, you ask? well, you couldn’t eat them without breaking them open. they could cut you with their spikes. they had spikes. they could cut you if you broke it open. they had to be broken open. and a whole lot of other complaints that she made sure to add in her rambling, which she directed at the tall, dark-haired man sitting beside her:

“...and klee never knows how to clean them beforehand! did you know you were ‘pose to clean a crab before eating it? like all of the guts and stuff? i mean… i did, but… bleh, anyway, i━━oh. are you done?”

he had to be, since there had been little cracks and pops the entire time she ranted. and, to fill her cup of curiosity, klee put her hands on the table and leaned forward, peering into the smaller bowl in front of him━━taken from where it was beside her bigger, ceramic bowl of fruits and fish ( not that many vegetables. she’d rather not ).

scarlet eyes widened, her mouth agape in surprise. “no way, you broke it so fast! wowww, can you do the others? i…” a pause; guilt blossomed across her face in the slightest blush. thus, klee looked down at her hands, laughing nervously as she continued, “well, uhm, yeah, i have others. like, klee has a lot of others. but she wasn't taking them to waste them! really! she just couldn’t say no to all of the nice guys giving them away…”

however, she smiled brightly, and away went the awkward instinct! “but you’re really really strong, sir, so you’d be fine cracking the rest, right?”

For every one of Klee's frustrated huffs, Wriothesley commiserated with a well-timed groan, and "Is that so?"s weaved in between complaints drew out explanations that reminded him that children, if allowed, lived in a world of fantasy - of monstrous crabs with terrible spikes, and the wars undertaken to catch and cook them. So he merely hummed at the inconsistencies between her stories and reality, smiling to himself as he worked on the task she had presented to him with so much seriousness. She couldn't have possibly guessed that he had cracked crabs when he was her age (her apparent age, that is), or that he had only ever seen them as spiny obstacles to cut his hands on for the Mora to survive another day.

Tough callouses and tougher leather wraps protected his hands now, and Klee's warm, lively chatter made those stormy memories feel as distant as a dream. The table they occupied was tucked off to the side of the balcony on the restaurant's second floor, from which drifted kitchen noise, the muffled hum of lighthearted conversation, and the tantalizing scent of frying spices that hung ever-present over the harbor. Every now and then, Klee's animated storytelling would bump against his shoulder, or rock the table beneath them, and Wriothesley found that his smile was more than just patient appeasement.

With the last joint broken, and its meat torn out and deposited with the growing collection in the bowl in front of him, he leaned back in his chair to let Klee assess his work.

"More, huh?" A glance behind her found the bowls of bright red crustaceans still in one piece gathered near the table. Wriothesley let out a soft snort of laughter, but pushed back from the table to retrieve one of them.

"You got it, Boss."

Choosing the fullest of the collection, he returned to his chair to get to work.

"Surely you're not here by yourself." He plucked one hefty crab from the top and started snapping the legs off, glancing sidelong at Klee. "Are you planning to share this with anyone?"

"oohhh, you're so pretty," came the sudden, chirpy compliment from behind navia, where the little sun was swaying on her feet. golden bright, they both stood, dressed from head to toe in what they saw fit as comfort, but ooooh klee couldn't believe just how beautiful this lady was! and, of course, she expressed this as politely as she could through the uncontrollable shaking of her hands and the natural shine within scarlet eyes.

a slightly trembling, gloved hand was extended up for navia to take, wavering more than the confident smile pulling at her lips. "a good man told klee that there was a . . . a runway near the dock. though klee isn't quite sure what that is, she'd love to do it with you! the kind man said there were even ribbons and bows we could accessorize with!"

though red and gold are more-so her colors than navia's, she was positive that there were other ribbon colors, maybe, that would make navia happy. and if not, they could always buy some if other storefronts were still open. but! no matter. little sun cared not for the specific colors; to get in front of a kamera with someone who shone as bright as her was enough. she'd show off the photograph to everyone she met tonight! how great it was to meet a real star!

The rose turns, searching for that sweet little voice's source. And when her eyes do find it, alighting upon a girl not even as tall as her hip, Navia is certain that her heart becomes no more than a puddle within her chest.

"My, what a compliment to receive from the loveliest little lady I believe I have ever met!"

She accepts the offered hand, curling fingers gently around it. Perhaps in the blonde of the girl's hair, or even in the sparkle of her eyes that no shyness could ever dull, Navia is certain she can see herself. Her smile grows only brighter as the other finds her own, and she nods in eager agreement.

"Well come on then, there's no time to waste! I'll certainly need your help picking the right ribbon for my outfit- Oh! And I know just what will bring out those eyes of yours... Here, right down this way!"

🎀 ━━ to braid / brush your muse’s hair .

"rosaria! rosaria! sister rosaria!" klee happily jumped at the lady's feet, holding up a long, crimson ribbon for rosaria to see. cradling the fabric as if this little sun was showing off a miniature world in her small hands. "can i put this in your hair? pretty please? klee promises tao make you look pretty━━not like you aren't, already."

( ——her innocence is blinding. just like her explosives. )

rosaria has put out her cigarette the moment she caught sight of the bouncing red hat running towards her. sure, klee is another timeless enigma like albedo, but that doesn't mean she is allowed to smoke.

"are you sure this isn't a safety pin from one of your bom bom bakudans?" she crouches down to klee's eye level and inspects the ribbon from tip to end. then, with a satisfied hum, she crosses her legs and sits down right there. "just don't pull off my hair. promise?"

[ WANGSHU INN ] our muses rest at the wangshu inn, enjoying some of the best food and relaxation that liyue has to offer!

"hmm, what do you want to order, qiqi?" klee rested her chin on the palms of her hands, kicking her feet as she sat across from her bestest friend. though enthusiastic and practically buzzing with excitement, the table both girls sat at was empty━━save for two menus and two, different coloring pages. "don't worry about paying! the nice lady said it's on the house. not sure why though, but free is free and food is food!"

Qiqi slowly flips through the menu, careful not to let any of the pages, loosened by age, fall out. Wangshu Inn, despite the relatively small size of its kitchen, offers a wide variety of food, and she doesn’t have the heart to tell the visiting girl that she can barely taste most dishes. Still, she’s been taught to be hospitable to guests, so she quietly sneaks out her notebook and takes a peek at a copied list of Liyue’s top foods, as selected by famous food critics from all over Teyvat, found on a noticeboard in the harbour.

“Qiqi wants Come and Get It,” she eventually tells Klee, pointing at the corresponding listing on the menu. “Big bowl full of many yummy things. Good for your health.” After deliberating for another moment, she adds, “And Almond Tofu for dessert. Afterwards, Qiqi will show you the golden finches nearby.”

A while back, she had discovered that the birds gathered near an old, dilapidated hut with a view of the water, and everything turned golden at sunset. Qiqi thinks Klee will like the fiery wash of colour as night creeps up on Liyue. And maybe, next time, they’ll be able to travel even further, perhaps to Qingce Village, to see more sights.

Klee & Lumine's Explosive Escapades

"wait! w━━wait!" klee tried through her fits of laughter, still running despite her pleading, "i didn't know you were so fast! break! break! give klee a head start!"

After succesfully sneaking their way out of the Favonius Knights' headquarters and leaving Mondstadt unnoticed by anyone, the blonde duo made their way to Liyue.

While the initial goal of their trip remained the same - so beware fish of Liyue - it would be a shame to visit the nation of the Geo Archon and not enjoy some of the other beauties it has to offer. Starting with the Harbor, of course, which is always bustling with energy and a sight to behold due to its beautiful, traditional architecture. Not to mention all of the small shops and restaurants one could visit.

They definitely attracted some gazes from the Milleliths and other Liyue natives when they started running around the Harbor like two little kids - granted in Klee's case, this was justified, but the Traveller was definitely embracing her inner child right now.

"Ahaha...~! Hm? Oh! My bad, Klee! Did I run too fast?"

This immediately made her come to a standstill, allowing the shorter one to catch her breath. That's when Lumine had a great idea. Since she resonated with the power of Geo at one of the Statues earlier, this allowed her to create a small structure for Klee to use as a stepping stone, allowing her to then climb onto the Traveller's back.

"There we go! I bet that's better, right? Now you can see everything from a completely different perspective!"

Now carrying the elf-eared girl on her back, she began to walk once more, showing Klee every nook and cranny of the Harbor and all of its little hidden passages.

Of course, all this walking around works up quite the appetite.

"Say, why don't we stop by Wanmin restaurant before we head to our next destination? I bet you've never tried traditional Liyue cuisine, have you?" They might need to tone down the heat a little, but given Klee's fondness for anything explosive, she might just have a higher tolerance than Lumine does.
