“something wrong?” suna asked, settling himself beside you on the couch.

“no,” you said, though the tiredness in your voice gave away your lie. “just a long day.”

“someone bothering you? do i have to beat someone up?” he joked, but the hopeful smile on his face dropped when he saw yours — your smile that didn’t quite meet your eyes.

he sat up then. before, he was laying his head in your lap, but now he was sitting up and pulling you into his chest. a kiss was pressed against the top of your head and you could feel suna’s arms tighten around you.

“do you not wanna talk about it?”

“not right now.”

he just hummed in response, pressed another kiss to the side of your face. and then he was scrambling from underneath you, muttering something you couldn’t quite make out, but you heard him say he’d be back in a moment.

and he was. this time with two mugs in hand, steam rising from both of them.

“here, it’s tea, drink it. it’ll help you feel better.”

“thanks.” you said again.

you sat up to grab the drink and give him room to sit back down. he frowned whenever you didn’t lay you head back in his lap, but just opted to loop an arm around you and hold you close to himself.
