Progressions and regressions are a favorite topic of us in the performance field, but how can we know what we are progressing to if we don’t have our big rocks, understand what needs to be built for athletes to be successful utilizing them, limiting factors in the exercises, and troubleshooting for common issues? Track speed is great, and the world of athletics has been the foundation many of the principals of physical preparation have been built upon, BUT we have all heard (and many made) the complaints “but how does that transfer to game speed”? In my opinion, term GOAT gets thrown around a bit to often now a days. While determining who’s truly the “greatest” may be an exercise in futility in many fields, success in the form of winning is unquestionable.
