Black Eagles Boys + Sylvain Meeting and Greeting a Fan
Tumblr media
hello anon!! sorry if this stinks, i had a draft going and tumblr, as usual, deleted it grrrrrr....anyways, i did my best to rework what i lost, and i hope this has as much charm as my original!! i will also use she/her pronouns and assume that the reader is female since you used she/her pronouns in your ask~
-admin belle
Headcanons for Ferdinand, Hubert, Caspar, Linhardt, and Sylvain reacting to a fan asking for a hug/hug headcanons!
Ferdinand von Aegir
When you ask him, he is absolutely ecstatic
He has a fan and they want attention from him???? He isn’t surprised at all, but is incredibly excited nonetheless
His eyes light up, but he quickly recomposes himself and greets you
“Oh! Why, hello madam! I am none other than the famous Ferdinand von Aegir, the oldest legitimate child of the prior Duke Aegir, and it is a pleasure to be your acquaintance.”
With this, he bows to you, folding one arm neatly over his chest, the other taking your palm in his as he places a soft kiss to the top of your hand
He immediately asks you if you have a spare moment to converse, and the subtly hopeful look he gives you makes you feel like “yes” is the only response
He talks with you before/during/after your hug, and he would talk to you all day if he could, but eventually someone pulls him aside and reminds him of something he has to attend to
Before you begin your conversation, though, he takes you in a full-body hug
But unless you’re done with hugs, he isn’t either
As you continue talking, he gives you a hug from behind, folding his hands over each other as they meet at your abdomen, his arms otherwise encircling you
If you’re too short for a normal hug or you just wish you could reach him better, he will offer to pick you up and hold you at his hip/waist, or hell, he isn’t too shy to hold you bridal-style!
His name is Ferdinand von Aegir, and treating women, commoner and noble alike, with the highest standard of respect and care is his game
He does not mind being seen being “personal” with you or any of his fans- he loves the attention, and he genuinely cares for his fans!
If you’re comfortable with it, he’s also game for cheek kisses!
Also, if he has an artist or anyone with a good drawing hand nearby, he will probably ask them to sketch out a few quick drawings of you guys hugging each other and kissing the other’s cheek
He requests that they do so in ink so that it can bleed through a sheet of paper and make two copies, one for each of you! If this is unable to happen, he gives the finished item to you for you to “remember him by”
When it’s time for you to separate, he asks you for your address and he gives you his so that you can be pen-pals!
Bonus: In his letters, he doesn’t really discuss himself or political affairs of any sort; rather, he talks briefly about how he feels that day, or he describes to you something that he saw earlier that was beautiful, comical, or noteworthy. Each letter is different from the last, and it’s easy to tell that he puts thought into each one! Sometimes, he encloses a few flower petals, a neat coin or small trinket, or some tea leaves
Hubert von Vestra
If he’s doing a meet-and-greet, it probably wasn’t his choice
Edelgard suggested that the two of them as well as a few other Black Eagles do one to “improve public relations and image”
When you approach him, he gives a weak smile, thinking to himself that “well, this was bound to happen, could I really expect to do this and never be approached?”
He quickly chases this out of his mind and greets you, giving a small bow; “Good day, miss. I am sure you are already aware of who I am, but might I ask you for your name?”
You tell him your name, and he shakes your hand, and this is about the extent of physical contact that you both have for a little while
It isn’t that Hubert is adverse to the idea of hugging someone; he’s just not very used to it, and it takes him a bit to warm up
You both chat for a little while, discussing a common interest you find you have or something more impersonal, and eventually something you say reminds him of something that happened with himself and Edelgard or Ferdinand when they were students back at the Academy
What this story is is up to you to decide! (A/n i know it’s cliche but I had too many ideas to narrow it down to one for this!)
After he opens up to you a bit more with that, you finally ask him for the hug, and he looks confused for a split second, but quickly goes “Ah, well why not.”
He gives you a hug from the side, and if you want something from the front, he either has to bend down or pick you up because he’s super tall and probably taller than you
When you go to depart and thank him, he gives you another short bow and gives you a smile, this one looking a bit more natural and relaxed than his previous ones
Caspar von Bergliez
When you first walk up to talk to him, his face is almost sparkling with awe
He knows that he’s a cool dude and he’s aware of how much he has done to get Fódlan where it is now, but a fan??? of HIM in specific???
that’s just beyond awesome to him
Before you even have to ask for a hug, he stretches his arms out and envelops you in a full-body hug, pulling back quickly once he realized that he forgot to ask first
“Oh, sorry! I got a little carried away there, heh... Well, hi! As you probably already know, I’m Caspar! What’s your name?”
You giggle a little bit at his sudden outburst of enthusiasm, caushing him to blush sheepishly before you tell him that you didn’t mind it
He gets over that little stumble he had there quickly and moves on to conversation with you
He asks you a LOT of questions
He’s never been approached by a fan before, nor had he ever really thought of it someday happening, and he already treasures you!!
You spend a while answering each other’s questions about the other and Caspar is beaming with enthusiasm the entire time
Note that he isn’t wearing his usual suit of armor, not that he was expecting an impromptu meet-and-greet, but because he just wants to look approachable to the public!
After a while of this enthusiastic conversation, you ask him  for another hug, and he gladly obliges
He hugs you a little bit tighter this time, knowing that you want it, and if you’re shorter than he is?? Not problem, he’ll just pick you up
If you’re ok with it, he’ll lift you up to sit on his shoulder(s), with your legs hugging his neck and sides
He absolutely cherishes this moment!! It gives him a less metaphorical feeling of being a protector of his people, and he loves watching you smile and laugh while you guys talk!
After he realizes how long he’s spent with you, he sets you down/lets you go, and tells you that he needs to go find Linhardt, since he promised him that he’d meet up with him
He does, though, offer to take you with him
“I don’t mind at all! I’m not in a rush, and I doubt Linhardt is either...though, he’s never really in a rush for anything except his bed.”
Linhardt von Hevring
You approach him and wave at him, and he gives you a confused look complete with a small head-tilt
He points at himself as if to ask you “Who, me?”
Once you nod to confirm that yes, it is him whose attention you are seeking, his expression softens to a small smile
He takes your hand and holds it up a bit, tilting his head toward the floor but still looking to your eyes
“Good day, milady. I am Linhardt von Hevring, crest scholar to-be. It is most wonderful to meet you, though I fail to see how I drew your interest among my...”flashier” colleagues.
You have to explain to him that you’re a fan of his, and that you admire him and all that he did to contribute to the war and to bring Fódlan to where it is now
He’s a blushing mess by the end of it
Are his eyes...watering?
He gives you a light chuckle before adding, “For someone who never wished to be a part of that war to begin with, I guess I really did do something wonderful then...”
You give him a smile, and give him a small kiss to his cheek in an attempt to validate him
He feels so blessed
Like he’s only just met you but he just doesn’t understand what he did that was so great to deserve a FAN
“Please don’t take this the wrong way, miss, but I already appreciate you so much; thank you.”
When you ask him for a hug, he is happy to comply
He first gives you a long full-body hug, hugging you tightly but not enough to be uncomfortable
You feel his hands behind you gripping your shirt a little bit
He’s just way too happy and surprised
After you both pull back from that one, he leans in again and tilts his head a little bit, silently asking if another hug is ok, and you nod/giggle as a “yes”
This time, he slips his arms around your waist and hugs you pressing his face slightly into your neck, and you can sort of feel his breath along the hairs at the back of your neck
To complete this hug, you sling your arms around his neck, reciprocating where he placed his head
He smells like a mix of dewdrops on grass and lavender
Right before he pulls back, you feel him grumble and whisper into your ear/shoulder- “you’re cute”
As you’re pulling back from the hug, Caspar approaches the both of you
“Wow, Linhardt. You’re certainly in a better mood than usual.”
Linhardt lets his friend’s comment slide off of him as he rolls his eyes and reaches for your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze
“Caspar and I were about to pay a visit to the marketplace- would you care to join us?”
Sylvain Jose Gautier
You don’t approach him. Actually, he approaches you.
You were going to approach him either way, so he’s just making the task easier on your end ;)
“Well,” he began to greet you, relaxing his arms behind his head and swaying his body a bit, “what have we here? Pardon me for intruding on such a breathtaking young woman as yourself, but my name is Sylvain. Pleasure to meet you.”
He takes your hand and presses a kiss on top of it, winking at you
You smile at this, and he gives you a flashy grin in return
His flirtatious attitude is secret to none, and you knew what you were getting into before you even waved hello
You begin to explain that you were actually going to approach him before he beat you to it
He almost laughs at this, and places a hand on your shoulder/hip
“Why on earth would you ever need to approach someone for their attention? At least from how I’ve experienced things, you draw eyes from anyone who can see you.”
You both chat with each other a bit, you further explaining to him how you are a fan of his and that you admire him and his heroic deeds
He gives you an almost quizzical look, before laughing and shaking his hand a bit
“Well, call me flattered! To be honest, most women only ever approach me to try and get a date with me for my noble status, so thank you for your kind words milady! They mean a lot to me.”
You smile back at him, and ask him for a hug
In response, he throws his whole body a bit, acting shocked
“Woah there, frisky! No need to get hasty with things!”
He winks at you again
Your eyebrows raise in surprise before he dismisses his prior reaction as a joke, and asks you if it’s ok for him to hug you
He may be a flirt, but he’s a flirt with standards- even a hug with a girl in his eyes requires consent
After you approve, he picks you up and hugs you
It’s kind of a sloppy hug, but a great one at that
The way he hugs you is energetic and playful, and after he sets you down, you get up on your tip-toes and throw your arms around his neck for another hug, and he hugs you around the waist to reciprocate
Once you both release from the hug, Sylvain latches his arm in yours
“You know, now that that stupid war is over I have a lot more free time. Are you free this evening, at about...right now?”
Bonus: If you accept his offer for the date, he gives you a piggyback ride the entire way there, and if you’re ok with heights, he seats you on his shoulders while you talk on your way to wherever you want to go
bonus that nobody asked for: how likely each of them are to develop a (lasting) platonic or romantic relationship with you after these interactions
on a scale of 1 being not likely to 5 being most likely
Ferdinand: 3/5
Hubert: 2/5
Caspar: 4/5
Linhardt: 5/5
Sylvain: 4/5
AAA thank you anon once again for this request!!! it was really fun to write, and you have lowkey turned me on to writing Linhardt...he is so much fun to write!!!
also sorry i’m bad at writing Hubert
~our askbox is still, as always, open to requests, prompts, and ideas- they don’t need to be like this one, either! we/i will write for the girls, too!~

some observations about magic
HELLO NAUGHTY CHILDREN IT’S TIME TO REPORT BACK WITH MY FINDINGS BECAUSE I GOT IN TOO DEEP
a few notes before i get into it:
because everyone in the game has a spell list, i’m plowing ahead with the idea that everyone in the world of fe16, not just fodlan, can learn magic. it’s a fantasy setting, it’s chill.
i am ignoring actual stats and damage output that you would see in the game in favour of an in universe application, because like... the stats are obviously just for the game. in universe, there wouldn’t be such a thing. anyone could achieve similar results with enough study, perseverance, and hard work, though it might be more difficult to produce those results consistently.
rhea has a spell list but i am ignoring her because she’s not actually playable. it’s almost identical to byleth’s anyways, she just gets agnea’s arrow and loses aura.
this includes jeritza, anna, and the ashen wolves.
given the uniqueness of the spells sagittae and agnea’s arrow, i am placing them in their own “general anima” category-- i know agnea’s arrow is most likely a fire spell given its description but this is less headache.
crests are not considered here, as they generally conserve uses of magic, make one’s cast spells stronger... it can pretty obviously be assumed that a mage with a crest has an advantage over a mage without, but those without crests can still be formidable opponents in their own right.
okay, without further ado, time for peppermint to ramble about magic under the cut! ... this might get kind of sloppy and messy, whoops. if you want to get somewhere specific, i recommend ctrl+f-ing to (1), (2), (3), or (4).
(1) DISTRIBUTION OF MAGIC.
first off, i wanted to see if there was a specific type of magic that seemed easier to learn-- or at least, more common, so i compiled a list of all the spells with who learns what. ... by copying it off the wiki, shhhh. i also added the total number of people who learned it after everyone’s names.
REASON MAGIC:
everyone can learn fire, as it’s the class skill, so the below mention is of those who can learn it naturally.
fire: byleth, edelgard, ferdinand, caspar, linhardt, dedue, mercedes, sylvain, lorenz, raphael, leonie, flayn, catherine, alois, anna, balthus, constance, lysithea (enemy only, mage class though) (17/18)
bolganone: byleth, edelgard, ferdinand, caspar, linhardt, dedue, mercedes, sylvain, raphael, leonie, manuela, seteth, catherine, alois, balthus (15)
ragnarok: byleth, dedue, mercedes, sylvain, lorenz, leonie, hanneman, catherine, balthus (9)
thunder: byleth, dimitri, dorothea, ferdinand, bernadetta, felix, mercedes, hilda, manuela, gilbert, jeritza, anna (12)
thoron: dimitri, dorothea, ferdinand, bernadetta, felix, ingrid, hilda, marianne, hanneman, gilbert, jeritza (11)
bolting: hilda, manuela, constance (3)
wind: claude, petra, linhardt, ashe, annette, hanneman, seteth, flayn, shamir, cyril, yuri (11)
cutting gale: claude, linhardt, ashe, annette, ignatz, marianne, seteth, flayn, cyril, yuri (10)
excalibur: claude, linhardt, annette, seteth, flayn, yuri (6)
blizzard: bernadetta, ingrid, ignatz, marianne, shamir (5)
fimbulvetr: bernadetta, ingrid, ignatz, marianne, shamir, constance (6)
sagittae: claude, dorothea, petra, annette, sylvain, lorenz, hanneman, shamir, yuri, constance (10)
meteor: dorothea, hanneman, anna, hubert (enemy only) (3/4)
agnea's arrow: dorotha, lorenz, constance (3)
DARK MAGIC:
without access to a dark seal, only edelgard, lysithea, hubert, jeritza, and hapi can learn dark magic naturally, otherwise every male character can learn miasma. fitting, as all of these characters except hapi MAYBE???? have ties in some way to those who slither in the dark.
miasma: hubert, lysithea, hapi
mire: hubert only
swarm: lysithea, hapi
banshee: hubert, hapi
luna: edelgard, lysithea
death: hubert, jeritza, hapi
dark spikes: hubert, lysithea
hades: edelgard, lysithea, hapi
hubert is the only character in the entire game who can learn mire, making him the only cast member with a unique spell.
FAITH MAGIC:
every character in the game can learn heal and nosferatu. thanks to this twitter thread, i headcanon that as much as the church of seiros would have you believe, faith in sothis and seiros are NOT what makes faith magic work-- it’s belief in something in general. because the church spreads the goddess narrative about faith magic super heavily, this accounts for, say, hubert’s weakness in it, for example. while not very religious, linhardt simply believes his spells will work, so they do.
recover: byleth, edelgard, dimitri, claude, hubert, caspar, dedue, felix, annette, lorenz, hilda, raphael, hanneman, seteth, cyril, catherine, alois, shamir, yuri (19)
physic: dorothea, bernadetta, linhardt, mercedes, ashe, sylvain, ingrid, ignatz, marianne, leonie, hapi, manuela (enemy only, but can’t use it due to being in the assassin class) (11-12)
restore: ferdinand, petra, linhardt, felix, mercedes, leonie, flayn, balthus (8)
fortify: mercedes, flayn (2)
ward: ferdinand, lorenz, ignatz, manuela, hanneman, gilbert, anna, constance (8)
silence: claude, marianne, manuela, yuri (4)
seraphim: edelgard, sylvain, ingrid, lysithea, balthus, hapi (6)
aura: byleth, dimitri, marianne, yuri (4)
abraxas: annette, lysithea, constance (3)
rescue: bernadetta, flayn, anna, constance (4)
warp: linhardt, lysithea, manuela, hapi (4)
(2) MAGICAL AFFINITY
the next thing i looked at was actually magical potential but it makes more sense to put it as the last thing on the list SO ANYWAYS.
while theoretically any aspiring mage could learn any magic with enough hard work and study, most will note a specific element is easiest to work with and have a tendency to lean towards it. this affinity may also be hereditary and run in the family. sometimes a particularily lucky mage will feel comfortable with all aspects of anima magic, simply picking one to start with. even rarer still, a mage may feel equally comfortable with two elements at once and focus on both of those at the same time.
below is a breakdown of who has which magical affinity! the criteria was simple: if x character learned x reason spell, they had an affinity for that element. if they learned more than one element, the one that popped up more often was the affinity and the other one was learned. if they were equal, the character possesses both affinities.
reason affinities:
if a character can learn additional magic to their affinity, i’ve made a note of it as their secondary. i do not count sagittae for this except for in the case of constance, as she learns both sagittae and agnea’s arrow, then only one other spell per element-- giving her a clear bias towards what i call general anima. meanwhile, lorenz learns an equal amount of fire and general anima magic, hence his own category in the list mentioning both.
as mentioned before, marianne can learn both cutting gale and thoron, but also learns both ice spells-- still making her affinity ice.
fire: caspar, dedue, mercedes (secondary: thunder), sylvain, lorenz, raphael, leonie, balthus, hanneman, catherine, alois, anna (secondary: thunder)
thunder: dorothea, dimitri, felix, hilda, manuela (secondary: fire), jeritza (secondary: dark), gilbert,
wind: petra, linhardt (secondary: fire), ashe, annette, claude, yuri, seteth (secondary: fire), flayn (secondary: fire), cyril,
ice: ingrid (secondary: thunder), ignatz (secondary: wind), marianne, shamir
dark: hubert, lysithea, hapi
fire + thunder: byleth, ferdinand
fire + dark: edelgard
thunder + ice: bernadetta
fire + general anima: lorenz
general anima: constance
faith affinities:
everyone learns heal and nosferatu, so they are not being counted here. typically, a unit will learn either recover OR physic as a secondary healing spell, not both, so the spells being evaluated are the ones learned after the first of the two. this makes healing the most common faith affinity.
mercedes learns both physic and fortify, cementing her faith affinity as actually being healing as opposed to just being the "learns no more faith spells" variety. she is the only character in the game with this affinity.
gilbert, balthus, anna, and constance are interesting in that they do not learn a second healing spell at all!
a balanced faith affinity is much like being comfortable with all brands of reason magic and simply picking a starting point. the characters listed there have an equal amount of support, healing, and utility spells!
flayn only learns a secondary healing spell at a-rank faith, keeping her in the balanced category as she only learns one support and one utitlity spell before that.
healing (physic/recover/fortify): hubert, dorothea, caspar, dedue, mercedes, ashe, hilda, raphael, seteth, jeritza, cyril, catherine, alois, shamir
offensive (seraphim/aura/abraxas): byleth, edelgard, dimitri, sylvain, ingrid, lysithea
support (ward/restore/silence): ferdinand, petra, felix, claude, lorenz, ignatz, leonie, manuela, hanneman, gilbert,
utility (rescue/warp): bernadetta
balanced: linhardt, marianne, yuri, balthus, constance, hapi, flayn, anna
(3) MAGICAL POTENTIAL
to determine this, i looked at were the amount of spells each character learned in total. while we’ve established that anyone can learn magic and those that apply themselves usually find themselves leaning to one aspect of reason/faith magic or another, another factor in magical study is potential.
everyone can learn magic, but obviously some potential mages have a better aptitude for it than others. personally i don’t see it as a level of skill, per se-- a mage with lower magical potential can be just as deadly as a mage with high magical potential; the latter may just have more tricks up their sleeves. this is exemplified in the amount of spells they can learn! a mage with lower magical potential can master and cast powerful spells, but may find branching out from their affinity-- that’s the gist of it. for example:
hilda can learn the most powerful thunder spell, bolting, but she still only learns six spells in total and all of them fall into the thunder or healing category.
8 spells seems to be the average potential, with 4 reason and 4 faith. nosferatu and heal ARE counted for this! some characters tend to skew into a preference for reason or faith, but i’m not getting that deep into it, that’s too much--
10 spells: linhardt, lysithea, constance, hapi
9 spells: mercedes, marianne, yuri, manuela, hanneman, flayn
8 spells: byleth, edelgard, hubert, dorothea, ferdinand, bernie, annette, sylvain, claude, lorenz, balthus
7 spells: ingrid, ignatz, leonie, seteth, shamir, anna
6 spells: dimitri, dedue, felix, hilda, raphael, jeritza, catherine
5 spells: caspar, petra, ashe, cyril, alois, gilbert
(4) takeaways
fire magic, as is a trend in most games, is the easiest to learn. even ragnarok, its most difficult spell (not counting meteor), has the most characters who can master it at 9.
bolganone, thoron, and cutting gale, despite being intermediate spells, are relatively easy to learn if you have experience with magic in general. ingrid, marianne, and ignatz can learn those spells without needing to know thunder and wind respectively, as they already have a preliminary ice spell mastered. seteth learns bolganone after mastering a preliminary wind spell.
the same goes for the highest tier spells-- even without being versed with their prerequisites, it is still possible to learn them; it just may be more difficult to do so.
despite thunder magic being generally accessible and easy to learn, its highest tier of magic ( bolting ) is the most difficult to master-- only hilda, manuela, and constance can. damn, hilda, you go. only constance can do so without issue--
ice magic is rarer and therefore more difficult to master without an affinity for it.
healing and offense-oriented faith spells are easier to cast than support or utility skills like restore or warp. close range healing is obviously easier than long range healing.
for those with lower magical potential, faith magic (specifically healing) tends to be the easiest to grasp.

Things I want to write for Three Houses (and may not actually wind up writing), a (most likely) incomplete list:
- Pre-canon fic with Petra, Edelgard, and Hubert. Gen.
- Fic for my headcanon of Edelgard’s stepmother, the Empress Berengaria. We know that this Empress must have existed, for Edelgard references her father having already married for political purposes by the time he met Patricia, but we know nothing about her. My headcanon of her is that she is by birth a member of House Nuvelle, that she was a supporter of Ionius’s attempts to consolidate his power, possessed a minor Crest of Cethleann, and that neither of her two children by Ionius numbered among the few (only three, in my headcanon) royal children who possessed any Crest at all. The fact that Edelgard was one of only three royal children with a Crest made her much more dynastically relevant than she otherwise would have been, and when Patricia was exiled, Berengaria took one look at baby/toddler Edelgard, said something to the effect of “It’s free real estate”, and snatched that kid right up before one of the consorts could get to her. Berengaria pushed hard for Edelgard’s candidacy as the next Emperor; she knew she’d never get anywhere promoting her own children (kid with a Crest wins over a kid without any day of the week), and installing a child she’d raised as the next Emperor was the best chance she had of ensuring that her and her own children’s would be preserved during the reign of the next emperor. She did care for Edelgard—and Edelgard definitely thinks of Berengaria before she thinks of Patricia when she thinks of ‘Mother’—though it’s less clear whether she loved Edelgard. Berengaria locked horns with Lord Arundel often over Edelgard’s custody. Just before the Insurrection of the Seven, Berengaria was assassinated via poison, and most assume it was Lord Arundel who killed her. The fic will be gen, obviously.
- I want to finish In This Valley of Dying Stars. Fic’s Dimileth, though it’s pre-ship, given its space in the timeline and the fact that neither Dimitri nor Melusine are in a good place mentally while it takes place.
- Want to write the sequel to In This Valley of Dying Stars, aka “Melusine finds out exactly what’s up about her and she takes it really poorly.” Dimileth, takes place just post the S-support, though the ship isn’t really the main focus of the fic. Melusine’s existential crisis kicking into overdrive is the main focus of the fic.
- A couple of oneshots set in the same ‘verse as In This Valley of Dying Stars and the as of yet untitled sequel. One of them focuses on Melusine, Flayn, Seteth, and Manuela, after Melusine overexerts herself using Divine Pulse and is unconscious for roughly a day and a half as a result. The second is the search for Rhea in Enbarr after the final battle. Enbarr’s the biggest city on the continent, and without Hubert’s letter, finding her… Yeah, that takes a while, and it’s taking even longer considering that there’s still fighting throughout the city even after Edelgard’s death and Dimitri is in no state to fight after taking a dagger to the shoulder. Both are gen; the first is entirely gen, and the second one mostly gen (In that there’s Dimileth simmering in the background, but it’s not the main focus of the fic).
- A fic set during the timeskip of Azure Moon, in which the explanation for why Mercedes is wearing a cap and veil post timeskip that looks a lot like the headgear worn by the nuns around Garreg Mach is that she took religious orders during the timeskip. Partly because she wants to become a nun, and partly because, while nuns don’t have to take vows of chastity in this universe, anyone who takes religious vows, even if they’re remaining a part of the secular world, is protected by law from being forced into marriage against their will. Even if the Empire has taken over Fhirdiad, where Mercedes lives, the prevailing culture is still very pro-Church, and thus, the men her adoptive father brings around the house take one look at her headdress, only have to hear her say, “No, I’m afraid I don’t particularly want to marry you :)” and are out the door, usually shooting dirty looks at her adoptive father in the process. Said adoptive father is too chickenshit to make her take off the headdress—especially considering she had four separate copies made up of the official document commemorating her taking religious orders, and three of them have been sent off to people who would not be at all inclined to give them to him to burn.
- Timeskip fic of Marianne’s evolving relationship with Margrave Edmund.
- A multi-chapter AU where Dimitri turns into a Demonic Beast during the timeskip, and the only way for him to turn back into a man is for him to let go of his rage and hatred of Edelgard enough that it isn’t consuming him anymore. This one’s… Yeah, it’s gonna be rough. And at least somewhat gruesome (Maybe more than somewhat). Main characters are: Dimitri, Melusine, Felix, Marianne, and when they show up, Rodrigue and Dedue. Gen. The only ship is Marianne x Linhardt, it’s mostly in the background, and it’s here primarily because it’s thematically appropriate and I love them. The violence and themes might be enough to make it M-rated. I’ve been mulling this one over for a while: here’s a snippet. The tag for this one will be ‘Demonic Beast AU.’
- Ingrid and Leonie get a support chain. Basically, it’s Leonie wondering “why is this noble girl asking me to show her how to make candles out of leftover cooking grease?” and finding out exactly why. Gen.
- Seteth comes to the monastery and deals with people reacting to the unvetted, unqualified stranger being promoted to a position of high authority over them. Gen, here’s the post I made speculating about it.
- Rhea and Seteth in the monastery, just being siblings at each other. Gen.
- Silver Snow Seteth having a reckoning over the damage wrought by the Crest System, and over everything he’s been complicit in since coming to live and work in the monastery. Basically a “That moment when you realize that the system you’ve been complicit in upholding has fucked over everyone you care about whose names aren’t Rhea and Flayn, and now everyone you care about may well die thanks to the secrets you and Rhea have been keeping,” to bridge the gap between what we see of him in the game and what we hear of him in his unpaired ending. Gen.
- Ingrid’s relationship with her mother, which I imagine as being at least somewhat fraught. Gen.
- The Sacred and Profane (titled such because I am so very original), centered around Rhea’s first couple of attempts at making a vessel for Sothis out of the children she created from her blood. Gen. The only fic idea I haven’t written yet that actually has a title.
- A fic centering around Lysithea and Ferdinand’s relationship if the game had fleshed it out more. Because I love their interactions in their paralogue, and I would have liked for them to have a support chain. Will probably be set in Azure Moon or Silver Snow. Could be gen, could be fucked-up shippiness. Anything is possible.
- An AU where Rhea learns to see Melusine’s mother as a person in her own right rather than simply a failed vessel, and thus treats Melusine like a person as well. So she handles things a bit differently after Melusine is born, and thus, Jeralt never leaves the monastery with her. And yet, things manage to go almost as poorly as they do in canon. Gen. Will be tagged ‘Grandmother AU.’
- An AU where after Edelgard resurfaces after having been experimented on and successfully implanted with the Crest of Flames, Rhea snatches her up and declares her a ward of the Church because those kids were descendants of someone she gave her blood to, dammit. Things… do not go well. Gen.
- Post-canon in Crimson Flower, Edelgard and Lysithea have a tense conversation just before Lysithea undergoes a procedure to have her Crests removed. Gen.
- Shapeshifter Marianne AU. Not sure if it will be gen or have ships in it.
- A fairy tale AU where Melusine is a lot more like her namesake. Probably Dimileth, and probably the least likely thing on this list to actually get written.
