Laki-laki gak boleh nangis?

Membaca dari beberapa tulisan dan video curahan dari beberapa pria, rasanya sudah tertanam stigma bahwa pria tak boleh menangis. Mungkin masih ingat dengan penggalan lirik lagu yang diciptakan oleh Ahmad Dhani yang berbunyi “Laki-laki gak boleh nangis, harus slalu kuat, harus slalu hebat”.

Stigma yg berisi tuntutan yang seolah membuat lelaki digambarkan sebagai seorang hero atau pahlawan, pemberi solusi dan pemecah masalah yang selalu menggunakan logika dan bukan perasaan, tetapi bukankah semua manusia memiliki perasaan?

Bahkan menurut data WHO yang dikutip dari BBC Indonesia banyak lelaki mengalami depresi dan memiliki kecenderung lebih tinggi untuk melakukan tindakan bunuh diri. Yang menyedihkan adalah pria cenderung menyimpan masalah untuk dirinya sendiri dan bahkan tidak semua pria bisa dan mau untuk curhat.

Stigma yang ada di masyarakat seolah membuat labelisasi bahwa wajar jika perempuan menunjukkan sisi lemahnya dan maklum jika sesama perempuan saling curhat dan menceritakan masalahnya karena perempuan adalah makhluk yang emosional. Pria sebagai makhluk yang rasional dan bertugas sebagai pemimpin tidak seharusnya menunjukkan kesedihan ataupun sisi rapuhnya dengan curhat dan menangis. Emosi dan kesedihan yang dialami oleh pria dianggap menggambarkan sosoknya yang lemah dan sulit untuk menjadi pemimpin keluarga karena mereka diharuskan menjadi sosok provider serta pelindung untuk keluarganya.

Mungkin kesulitan ini yang akhirnya justru membawa dampak negatif. Saat tidak dapat mengekspresikan kesedihnya, mereka menjadi tertekan dan mengalihkannya dengan beberapa pelampiasan yang bersifat negatif. Perilaku negatif yang dilakukan seperti konsumsi alkohol, dan pengalihan emosi sedih tersebut menjadi marah sehingga beberapa orang memiliki kecenderungan untuk bersikap abusive, tempramen dan memiliki anger issue. Beberapa orang merasa bahwa lebih mudah untuk mereka menampilkan emosi dalam bentuk kemarahan dibanding mengakui kesedihan yang ada di dalam dirinya.

Kesulitan dalam mengekspresikan emosi yang sebenarnya kita alami akan menimbulkan masalah kedepannya. Seperti kita tahu bahwa emosi mempengaruhi cara berkomunikasi, dan cara berkomunikasi kita mempengaruhi cara berinteraksi dengan orang di lingkungan sekitar dan orang terdekat kita. Sehingga perilaku ini tentu akan berdampak pada kehidupan kita berelasi dengan orang lain.

Stigmai-sasi dan kurangnya pengetahuan kita untuk berkonsultasi dengan profesionalpun tidak membantu mengatasi hal ini. Ibaratnya sedari awal mau curhat ke sesama pria diberi labelisasi tapi saat ingin berkonsultasi ke professional seperti psikolog dan psikiaterpun masih diberi labelisasi juga. Entah diberi label sebagai ODGJ atau dianggap hanya buang buang uang. Kesehatan mental tidak dianggap penting yang ada hanya pengelompokan orang bermental kuat atau orang yang mentalnya lemah saja. Saat orang yang depresi hanya dianggap caper, kurang ibadah dan kurang dekat dengan Tuhan seolah permasalahan ini hanya persoalan iman belaka.

Rasanya ini adalah realita untuk kita, mungkin banyak dari kita yang mengalami bahkan tidak hanya pria.

Berapa banyak dari kita yang menahan tangis hanya untuk terlihat kuat?

Menyimpan cerita hanya agar terlihat tegar?

Atau berapa banyak dari kita yang memilih diam karena merasa tak akan ada orang yang paham?

Entahlah, berbahagialah orang yang memiliki tempat yang bisa dipercaya untuk diajak berbagi karena kalian adalah salah satu orang yang beruntung, karena teman berbagi itu adalah anugrah untuk kalian.
