#steven universe #lars barriga #ube art #yea so this is from my 'digital diva' larsadie au bc i have six bazillion aus #also last post from nov 2020 blessed #but basically lars is essentially like an utau or a vocaloid program #and sadie is a human and like #in this au sadie ofc never met lars at the big donut bc she literally doesnt exist in that way and so of course never made a first friend #so she's rly lonely but is a big music geek and she's rly into these little digital singers so she makes music on her laptop in the basement #and of all the available models her favorite is this one named Princess Ube #and im cutting down on a lot of the emotional nuance of the au bc im just blabbering in the tags but after months of making songs and videos #and posting to tubetube sadie has become p popular in the digital diva producer circles but she's still rly lonely and despondent and like #one day very late at night sadie is crying at her comp and is like 'i wish i had someone t be close to... princess ube i wish you could be #my friend for real' and she puts her hand on her screen where the lil princess ube avatar is and BLAM shiney lights and the lovely cliche of #a hand popping out of the screen and interlocking fingers with sadie #and boom princess ube becomes a real girl #the au is about trans narratives and self making and self definition in part through your relationships to others #they become friends and slowly princess ube learns who she really is and what she really likes (she doesnt like the makeup or the elaborate #costumes or performing she's rather shy and would prefer hoodies and being out of the spotlight) whereas sadie gets more into her music and #steps out from solely using the digital diva programs to making her own stuff with her own voice! #and way more stuff happens but yes eventually they fall in love and most importantly one day princess ube chooses a real name for herself #:') #oh also when she's still digital the colors in her hair are like... luminescent
