IT IS DONE. I 100%'D SIDE ORDER IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. Cleared the tower with all palettes, bought all hacks, bought all items from Cipher, got the Low Hacks Eight badge, got all Jelleton entries, and got all chips entries as well as maxing out the chips that max out at ten and NOT five. My fastest clear is 17 minutes with DJ Octavio's palette, and highest score is Marina's palette with 83k points. My favorite palette and palette with the most clears is Frye's palette with 6 clears, and my least favorite palette is Big Man's palette with only a single clear, tied with Eight and Murch's palette for the spot of least clears, and my first clear was with Sheldon's palette.
Genuinely I could not be happier with Side Order. The only critiques I have are minor and not hugely impactful on how I feel about the DLC as a whole. Easily worth the money and despite the fact I've now done every conceivable thing the game has to offer in terms of completion, I absolutely expect to continue playing and having fun with it for a while further
SO, now that halftime is upon us, here's some tips for the defending team (because lord knows they'll need all the help they can get).
Do not just defend mid. Coordinate with your team to the best of your ability to push into the attacking teams' home bases and keep them locked down. Don't be guilted by anti-spawn camping rhetoric; defense is at enough of a disadvantage as it is. FIGHT DIRTY.
If you splat an opponent on one team, redirect your attention to the other side unless two or three others already have. Tricolor is a 4v2v2 format, so splatting someone on one attacking side means they're left without a reliable teammate and are more vulnerable to being ganged up on if they try to approach.
Although it's a viable strategy for both attacking teams to work together to beat defense, they're also liable to act selfishly in order to snag the bigger win bonus for themselves. Use that to your advantage. If you see a skirmish between attacking teams, let it play out so you can pick off whoever is left.
If one Sprinkler of Doom gets activated, it's not impossible for defense to win. Don't focus too heavily on covering the ground it takes until time is almost up because it's just going to get painted over again anyway.
If both Sprinklers of Doom get activated, say your GG's.
During Splatoon 3's Tricolor Turf Wars, the leading team needs to protect the Ultra Signal in the centre of the stage. If either of the attacking teams get their hands on it, they’ll be able to enlist the help of Deep Cut who’ll help them out with the Sprinkler of Doom!
